My son-in-law and daughter had taken me and his mom for Mother's Day on Friday to the Diversey location. I usually have traditional breakfast but decided to try Chilaquiles verdes. It was so good. It was sooooooo good. I mean the tortillas were succulent. You taste so many flavors in a bite, warm seasoned tomato cooked in the tortilla and the flavor of the tortilla was maintained. I could not stop eating. My daughter had a French toast special, but after trying my order requested a plate to go. The waitstaff was awesome and very knowledgeable. The place was packed, but spacious. There's an older woman (waitstaff) who's genuinely vibrant and totally cool! The food portions are great, very filling. It's an old fashion diner environment. My son-in-law and daughter were really impressed by our service. Restrooms were even clean. We had a great experience and definitely plan on going again--SOON! read more

I've been here several of times and I've always been satisfied. They staff always accommodate to my needs. I've asked for Nutella French Toast and its delicious ! The skirt steak is also amazing. The staff and food is great, there is also parking which is a plus. The only down side is that they can get very busy and full, but I wouldn't expect anything less from such an amazing place. read more

Was told by a friend of mine to try this place that the breakfast here was excellent. I tried it for the first time today and she was right on the money. I ordered a veggie omelet with hash browns and toast and it was all cooked to perfection and not all slopped up with grease or butter. The lady who took my order was super friendly and had me laughing early in the morning which is hard to do considering i was on my way to work. Excellent customer service. Great service and food. Although the interior is a bit stark, it's better than a dark and dingy diner. I will say one thing, I have a love/hate relationship with omelets. I always order them and they are soooo greasy - they taste good, but I feel sick later. The omelets here were so light and fluffly, I even took the rest home (which I NEVER do with breakfast food). Service for to go orders is horrible! Told them in English and Spanish what I wanted and they still messed up my order. Called them back to straighten everything out. Went straight back to to get the right order and had to wait for another 25 minutes. Needless to say that the rest of my food was cold and soggy by this time. I have, sadly, eaten here too many times, including yesterday (my boyfriend will eat their omlettes since he's not very particular about breakfast). The food is horribly bland at best and pretty bad at it's worst. I have had undercooked pancakes several times, including yesterday - you know, when you cut into them and the batter runs onto the plate. The bacon is rubbery and their coffee is undrinkable - it would help if they actually put some coffee in their coffee. I'm not a big fan of hot brown water. As for their service - too eratic, sometimes decent and sometimes brutally bad. My last comment is to warn anyone away from eating their "whole grain toast!" We sat at the counter in front of the grill yesterday and I watched as the various cooks handled the bread as they put it in the bin under the warmer - after they touched their faces, etc and then watched as the young woman calling out the orders played with her hair, wiped her mouth with her hands - and then touched the toast as she moved it around to make room for more. So gross -and I had a lot of time to watch since it took them 30 mins. to get our order. In short, if you don't care about the quality (or safety) of your food, this is the place for you. Other than Dawn being a nice waitress, the food was ok, $2.49 for a plate of mushy, freezer burned hash browns was disappointing to say the least....given the reviews I would've thought that the food would be scrumptious but it was barely acceptable - I've had way better food at IHOP and for less $. The syrup was so watered down it was like brown sugar water, kids menus were given to us wet so they weren't able to color on them, and other waitresses came around and asked us to place things on our table while we were eating. read more

Wonderful meal! Great energy! Came in at 11 am, to a full restaurant and a large group of people waiting to be seated. Got 2 seats at the counter. Loved the energy of the staff. Our waitress, Danyela, was on top of everything: fast, courteous, great with refills, had spot on recommendations. The pork chops were amazing, and the chicken breast club was great. Very flavorful and perfectly cooked bacon! We are not in the neighborhood often, but will make a trip just to have brunch here again. It's worth it! read more

Yes, 5 stars for a diner in Logan Square. The first time I visited this place was in 2007, then vanished until this past week. The $11.29 8 ounce NY Strip Steak is restaurant grade (wished the waitress ask me what temperature I wanted it) and my wife's Chorizo Pineapple skillet was something to die for. She had it for the past 2 days now and I just got done eating her leftovers. She thought the Nutella crepes with banannas was OK, but she is European and has higher standards for these types of things. I also appreciate their home made chicken noodle soup and mashed potatoes. Usually crowded but for a good reason - food is yummy even the non-breakfast food. My grandmother is is 89 and very old school Mexican. She liked the chilaquiles. Pretty much my favorite restaurant. The food is made quick and is delicious. Occasionally I've had a bad waitress who is slow or doesn't check on the table but usually they have great customer service. The only con is that this place gets full quickly!! Went in there today with a party of 6... we were seated in the corner booth, which was perfect for us! Because we had waited 30minutes (we had no problem with waiting) we had plenty of time to look over the menu options, so that by the time we were seated we could order our food immediately, eat and leave...we thought we would be conscientious to the restaurants' other clients... anyways we were greeted by a male server (Daniel?) I don't remember very well his name... all I know he had a tattoo on his right arm... he asks us our drink order and we tell him that we were also ready to order. The guy tells us " I can't do both...I'll bring your drinks and then take your food order" like seriously? Okay... whatever he comes back with a really sneaky/sassy attitude... we would speak to him in Spanish and he spoke back in English... the guy has a heavy accent it was obvious he spoke Spanish. Not to mention he spoke Spanish to all his other tables! To cut it short the food is delicious but the service was horrible! The guy forgot to bring out some of our food until we reminded him and we never received an order of pancakes that came with one of our meals! Would I go back... yes? Maybe? All I know is that the manager needs to have a serious conversation with this guy! He kinda ruined our breakfast. read more

I've been going to cozy corner for the last 10 years. When they opened this Diversey location I thought it was too polished and just wouldn't be able to compare to the original at Cali and Milwakee. I don't know how they do it...but they did! I am convinced that you will find no better pancake house in Chicago, the staff are always upbeat, and they do a fine job while maintaining a diner atmoshpere. I've never had a plate of food from Cozy Corner that wasn't just perfect. Best diner in town! read more

We moved to Cragin like 2 years ago and we always come here. There are tons of great service crew and so far Antonio and another lady I cannot remember her name are excellent! The food is delicious and although the waiting time on the weekends is a little crazy it is worth it! I love the parking too! This is a really clean place to go eat! Love it! read more

Great food, even better service. I have yet to be disappointed with the service nor the many selections of entrees. My personal favorite is the Huevos Rancheros with the red sauce but many of the other foods they have are just as good. Great environment and great portions of food. Ugh, $9.50 for a Denver omelet w/ cheese, hash brown and a couple pieces of toast. We're talking about breakfast, right? Here's the kicker, when I opened the container, I had not only a half order of hash browns, but they were overcooked and extra crispy. You'd think for what they charge, you'd get some decent food. Sadly, no. I usually go to their location on California and Milwaukee (never had a bad meal there) and order their "$3.99 meal deal before 9am", but they were closed for remodeling. Here at this location the "before 9am deal" is $4.99. It was past that time but I figured how much more could it be. DOUBLE! Wish I went with my gut and hit the ol' Breakfast diner on Armitage and Cicero instead. read more

I would definitely not be coming back to this restaurant as soon as we were seated we were immediately asked what we wanted to drink for heaven-sake we hadn't even gotten our hands on the menu yet and so we all opted to have coffee. Don't even get me started on that bland food it had zero flavor I had to add salt pepper and hot sauce to my hash browns and omelette the food is not worth the wait, you could get better breakfast at a McDonald's and that's saying a lot because I don't really like McDonalds breakfast our waitress was friendly enough, but that bus boy kept hovering by and sighing as if to rush us, normally I wouldn't think much about somebody that keeps passing by I mean he's working, but I believe I heard him sighing as if my party and I were taking a little too long for his liking I mean we didn't even have twenty-five minutes there and that's counting the time we waited on the food! great food great service, but expected a little better environment. cashier named cassey I believe her name tag read. very rude!!! when I walked in she was laying on counter not a good look for a rest. seemed like she was bothered by our waking her as we waited to get seated. no welcoming greating. and while I waited for my food I observed the waitresses just wow moving non stop, food piling in window as the cashier just stood by register layin head on counter again, when she could have helped run some of the food waiting to be served. when she did try to help it was a loud obnoxious scream for the server to come get her food. too bad my focus was on the rude cashier it was just pretty disturbing to me. if you don't like people you should work in a cubicle not in a rest. I will be back to cozy but will def. make sure the rude cashier is not there!!!! read more
