Food was a 10/10. Their menu is pretty expansive so there is definitely something for everyone. Highly recommend the caramel waffle it was delicious. The portions are pretty average but the prices are reasonable. It does get quite busy and I don't think they take reservations so just be prepared to wait a little. The only negative was our table was so close to the register I kept getting kicked with people walking over to pay or leave. This place is a gem! If you like a diner feel for a Sunday Morning pick me up breakfast, this is the place for you. Upon walking into the Cozy Corner, it is VERY hectic (which is to be expected on a weekend morning) and I made sure this time (second time coming here) to check in on my way over via the bus. This got us in quicker! Also I would like to add, they deal with the craziness very well! Keeping everyone in line and still remain happy and peppy through it all (which seems difficult)! Once sat, I knew we would love this place from just briefly glancing at the menu. Prices are fair and portions are large. My first time coming I got the Nutella crepes which were a 10/10. This time coming, I got the cinnamon swirl french toast which was a 7/10. Be prepared for a VERY sweet dish.... I ate too fast and my stomach started hurting so that's my fault! Also got the hash browns which are fantastic - I get them extra crispy. My boyfriend got the Cubano Sandwich which he says is the best he's EVER had. If you want an all American typical breakfast this is the spot. I came here with family and we all got our own dishes and some things to share. I got the house special, which is two French toasts, 2 eggs, and bacon. The French toast was perfection. The Nutella pancakes were also delicious. On the menu, it said it came with fresh strawberries and banana, but the banana was cooked into the pancake, which was a yummy surprise. An honorable mention is the cheese grits. The food was as good as ever. I was there today about 7am and the waiter was pushing the specials. Great I thought - it's $7.99 so I'll order coffee! It was horrendously bitter and when I mentioned it to the cashier she told me it was the type of roast. I shrugged and then I found out the coffee was $3.50. For a nasty cup of coffee. I loved coming here recently despite all the price increases the past few years. Even though breakfast for two should never cost $50, I still made time to dine in on the weekend. I continued to support this business even though their early bird special is no longer affordable on a daily basis. The only thing that kept me coming back was my love for the side order of pancakes that were included with the entree. Last week is the first time I became upset with a restaurant in the 38 years that I have been dining in Chicago. I was so upset because I noticed Cozy Corner shrunk the size of their side order of pancakes by about 50% I thought about how they might still be struggling with inflation like most small businesses this year and I started to calm myself down and move on with my life. About a week later, today, I felt like giving them one last chance to keep my loyal patronage. I decided to order a full order of pancakes in addition to my omelette. I paid $12.99 for the lemon berry capone pancakes even though I hate supporting shady companies that are actively practicing shrinkflation with no regard to product or customer. I just wanted to eat some regular size pancakes with my wife this morning for a special Valentine's Day breakfast. Except we didn't get the chance to enjoy regular sized pancakes. Super cozy cafe with an at home feel. Exceeded expectations for a classic diner! The prices are fair, the staff is incredible with the customer service, and the food is super tasty! I ordered the house special with pancakes and it was everything I would want in a classic breakfast plate. Fluffy pancakes, eggs cooked to the perfect over medium that I asked for. On top of that, I accidentally ordered it with bacon instead of sausage which is what I wanted. When I asked the waitress about it, she gave me the sausage for free in addition to the bacon even though it was my mistake when ordering! As a single diner, I wanted to share my experience at Cozy Corner. I stumbled on this gem eight months ago when I moved to Logan Square. I had finished taking the boxes from the moving truck into the condo and was hangry. As I didn't know the area, I drove around and stumbled upon this restaurant. It reminded me of Lincoln Square in Indianapolis. I got a table for one and was extremely happy with the menu. I ordered an omelet with potatoes and iced tea. The food came quickly and was good. I decided then and there that this would be at the top of my list for breakfast spots, so much so that I would visit it once to twice a month. Fast forward to today. I had just finished a doctor's appointment and didn't feel like cooking, so I stopped in a Cozy Corner around 9 am. I parked my car and walked in. There were four people ahead of me, and as the hostess got to me, I said I needed a table for one. The hostess pointed out the bar, to which I said no, I'd like a table. The hostess said they no longer sit singles at tables or booths. It was 9 am, and the parking lot was not even full. I looked at her, bewildered. I even searched for a sign and saw nothing anywhere indicating this was a new policy. Once in my car and sitting in the parking lot, I called the Cozy Corner. Management will attempt to refute this review so that I will be forthcoming. I was hot about what had just happened. When the person picked up the phone, I said I was just told that singles could not sit at tables or booths, there was no signage regarding this, and this was a lousy rule on their part. I was talking loud, not yelling, but loud. I'm a native Chicagoan, for god's sake. The hostess indicated she was the one who told me this and then proceeded to accuse me of yelling, that she was doing her job, and then hung up the phone. This is the go-to response from a customer service perspective when employees want to avoid dealing with bad rules. I get it; however, I was not yelling. Believe me, if I were, I'd tell you all. After she hung up on me, I called right back, and Michael - I think that was his name - answered the call. Because the hostess accused me of yelling, I spoke in a low tone. I said to Michael, are you the manager? He then hesitated and said yes. I relayed to him that this rule of forcing singles to sit at the bar is not good business, my money was as good as anyone else's, and then I hung up. Here's why you and I should have an issue with this. What if someone has social anxiety and tries to get out after being cooped up for two years? Folks want to avoid sitting at a bar next to people but want to be around people. What if someone is on the spectrum and doesn't like the close quarters? Management still needs to think this through. As such, this is a teachable moment for all involved. Management needs to create a big sign so all single customers see they cannot be seated at a table or a booth, so they are not embarrassed as I was. To facilitate this, I will be protesting peacefully for the next three months at this location. I'll have a simple sign that reads Single diners are not welcome here. If you want to join me, I'll be on the sidewalk on Saturdays and Sundays starting in March. Best. read more

The host sent us a text message thru an iPad to let us know our table was open. We had a considerable amount of time to look over a detailed menu. A lot of breakfast and non breakfast items. So, if you are not into brunching foods, I would still give this diner a try! Our server was quick, friendly, and checked up on us enough times that I felt comfortable and not suffocated. Our food came out in 15 minutes, despite how crowded it was. I ordered the Abuelita Skillet, $11.99 Chorizo, jalapeños, avocado, cilantro, onions, PINEAPPLES, jalapeño cheese, and a side of salsa! Entree came with choice of eggs, hash browns, and toast or pancakes. GET THE PANCAKES!!! It's a lot of food for the price, and a lot of different favors. The hash browns were crispy and not burnt. I ordered takeout and had it delivered - the rest of my gang seemed to love their food - including the country time skillet which was packed with flavor. I got the San Diego - which is a breakfast sandwich that was less than ideal. It tasted almost like nothing and needed some sort of sauce on it . I also ordered a side of hash browns with needed salt but also had a bizarre sent to them . Every time I've come in person I've never had a problem and the restaurant has been spot on - so I recognize: times are weird and want to give them the benefit of the doubt . We stopped in for breakfast on our last morning in Chicago. The diner was buzzing but still had a few open tables, we were seated quickly and our friendly server was there to provide water and get drink orders in a matter of seconds.
