You cannot access this restaurant by street. Instead, you have to walk around the entrance and go on the beach and then go up a massive flight of stairs. When we arrive (family of 12), the manager laughed when I told him how many of us there were. Apparently, if we had stayed at the condos near the premises, we would have been served. But alas, we were not. The manager was short with us and rude, saying that they were closing at 7pm for the 4th of July. It was 5:10 when we arrived. In addition to that, when we wanted to leave he said that we might not be able to get out because of the security guard. I would not recommend this place as we had elderly folks in our party and it is difficult to access. Not to mention the bad service. read more

Waitress was rude and said I wasn't tipping enough for my 10$ drink she spent 30 seconds to make and said she wouldn't make me anymore unless I tipped more. i'm not sure what she was expecting but employees should never demand tips. This was probably our best dining experience the entire week in Seacrest. Nearly everything about it was awesome. First, it's difficult to find/get to. If you just ask random people walking by on the beach they can help you, but just get down on the beach, then look for the small, blue roof. It's a haul up the stairs, but SO worth it when you get there. If it was easier to get to, it would be too crowded. Other reviewers who criticized it because it was difficult to find and said, "it couldn't be that good" were dead wrong. We had the blueberry lemonade and vodka, which was awesome. We had a couple with lunch, which led to an afternoon nap...perfect. I had the Cuban sandwich which had pulled pork, along with ham and cheese, which was obscenely good. It came with fries and was plenty to eat for a beach lunch, but it was definitely worth it. The bartender Rhonda was super in things she recommended and both speed and quality of service. The food was ok, nothing extra. Service ok. We walked to it via the beach from our condo. Upon leaving, my husband, ( 70) had a hard time walking on the beach, so we walked out across the complex, where we were attacked by a venomous little woman who was the gate guard, telling us we were not welcome on the property if we were not staying there- I attempted to explain that we had dinner at this restaurant and were leaving by the road instead of the beach, due to my husband's difficulty - her response was "everybody has some excuse" - I told her we were leaving and would never be back. The food isn't that exceptional, so you can bet we won't go back for a number of reasons. Aside from this very unpleasant experience, everyone else in Rosemary Beach was very nice and friendly. read more

I'm super bummed to write this because I've been coming to Crabby Steve's for a few years now and it is really the only place like it on Rosemary Beach. But..based on what I observed at lunch today, this establishment has zero concern about acting responsibly during the Covid-19 pandemic. Not one person taking orders, serving food, or seating folks wore a mask. Tables were place exactly as they had been prior to the outbreak, not the minimum six feet distance required by the state. The owner regularly violated the six foot separation rule as well. And we wondered, if thing are this loose out front, are they doing any of the extra cleaning and disinfecting in the bar and kitchen area that they should be doing?. I doubt it! There is nothing better than enjoying the beautiful, sunny weather that 30A has to offer and enjoying a fantastic meal while sitting on the deck at Crabby Steve's. You can sit back and gaze out over a spectacular view of the Gulf of Mexico. We live in Seacrest, so we have to walk down to the beach for our community, walk along the surf to neighboring Highpointe and then up the stairs to Crabby Steve's. But it is absolutely worth it! The food and drinks are good. Everyday there is at least one crabby employee sometime during the day. They are supposed to be open on Tuesday, which is today, and they are closed. Our family loves this place. The kids get really excited to eat here on our family vacation to Rosemary Beach every year. Steve and his crew are super people, no Steve isn't always crabby!!! Pros: Food is great, drinks are tasty and cold. Seafood is fresh (crab cakes are a favorite here) and the sweet potato fries are excellent. Nice view. Price is on par with any restaurant on 30A, except it's right on the beach, so very fair. Cons: you can only access the restaurant from the beach side, so unless you stay on that property, you have to park and walk the beach. Lots of steps or ramps, but worth it! Great little restaurant! My experience at Crabby Steve's was TERRIBLE. First off, this is NOT a public restaurant it is for visitors staying at/near High Point Resort. I felt like I was getting punk'd just trying to find the place. Then, after the 20+ minutes it took to park/walk here--I find an average bar and grill with cranky, crabby service. Had a great lunch at Crabby Steve's this week. The food was excellent and very reasonable for being beach front. The best part of our meal was Crabby Steve! He came out and entertained our kids - they had an absolute blast. Our waitress was great as well. I had the Triple Tail fish sandwich (special today) and my wife had the crab cake sandwich. Being nice by giving two stars because our experience was TERRIBLE. We went tonight with 10 of our friends to celebrate a birthday. We have never been here before, and decided to try Crabby Steve's for dinner. When we arrived, no one helped us or spoke to us so we assumed it was self-seating (there were also no signs saying "please wait to be seated" or anything like that). We found a table in the back that fit all of us. After about 15 minutes of employees walking by us and no one acknowledging us at all, my friend (birthday girl) walked to the bar and asked if we were supposed to order at the bar (once again, never been here - we did not know). The bartender then proceeded to rudely tell her "well no but y'all just walked in and sat yourself and that's not what you were supposed to do but I'll send someone over." When our server (couldn't tell you her name because she never introduced herself) finally arrived at the table, she immediately had an attitude and obviously did not care to help us. The menu has no descriptions of meals, but it was the biggest inconvenience to her that we had questions (most of which she answered incorrectly because the food came out different than she described). Finally, she brings out our check and sets it on the table and says "I don't know how y'all want to do this but here's the check." First of all, there were ten of us. All separate checks. So we asked her if she could separate them by meals so we could pay. She then tells us that she can't do that bc it's too much, too many people. So she allowed us to sit there and order food and never mentioned that everything would be on one bill left for one person to take care of. We're college students. What would she have done if none of us had $200 to cover everyone's dinner? Just terrible service from start to finish. read more
