I'm not much to give negative reviews, My experience was the waitress who was serving us did not have bedside manner.. never checked on us to see if we needed anything which I think that this so so very important when dealing with customers in the restaurant business. The pancakes were horrible, they were hard not fluffy, the bacon was not cooked properly.. it was still soft, not crispy the way I wanted it. Took one bite of it and didn't care for it any longer. Gosh I've been here a million times and it's just a nice spin/difference because the Hudson valley is littered with diners. Cracker Barrel throws in some spice and variety to that while delivering huge portions, for cheap prices, at good quality. The breakfast is always great. My favorite is the seasonal drinks ever changing here. Normally always fantastic. That cinnamon roll latte was *chefs kiss*. Taylor was our waitress. She was AMAZING. I never went into a Cracker Barrel until I moved around the area and spotted this one. Immediately you walk in and see a vintage, yet colorful display of items to purchase ( even throwback candies and holiday attire!). My family and I went to the back of the store to which the kind staff guided us to be seated to our table. Upon deciding on what to eat when you're here, it's so hard to choose from due to the amazingggg prices they have. My husband and I did the 2 x $10 appetizers. I craved the beignets which were baked with pure fluff and right sugar/dough ratio. For the main course, I got the pancake tacos and I truly think if you haven't gotten one of these yourself, please do. All breakfast items in taco form are genius. I highly recommend you come here with family or friends. Plus, when you exit the restaurant you can also shop for goodies so it's a win-win. Purely based on the food, the meatloaf and the ribs were pretty okay for the price. I was impressed with the amount of ribs they gave. And let's be real, it's Cracker Barrel not Nobu. I don't know if they were having an off day, but they never gave us the corn muffins when we asked multiple times and also got our sides mixed up and never got it until we reminded them again when we got our check. This was my first time at a Cracker Barrel in about 10 years. My recollection was homestyle comfort food at a good price. I took my family of five, including 3 kids between 5-9. Service was friendly, but nothing special and atmosphere was ok. A little dark at the table was at, but ok. Food disappointed. Meatloaf was like warm but tasted nice. fried chicken breast was nice but I was surprised it wasn't served with gravy. Loaded hash-browns were also warm, not hot and tasted like they were sitting for a while. Kids burger slider were tiny, the bun was too big for the patty. Kids liked the Mac and cheese. Wife was not a fan of the fried fish. Cheese bread and corn muffins were ok , but a bit hard and not very fresh tasting. The 'real butter' was cold served in tiny plastic containers. Suggestion: serve actual fresh churned butter to be a bit unique! String beans were the canned variety that brought back school lunch memories. Then the bill came, and I realized that my meal for a family of five just paid less than we would have spent at KFC. So, I would not come back, but appreciated I could have a fast food meal at a sit down restaurant at a very reasonable price. Perhaps that is the concept? Came in today with my son to have some lunch. The wait wasn't as long estimated. Which was nice. My son is almost two, so he needed a high chair. We were sat at a small table in a corner by the window and a an open doorway. His chair was placed at the doorway, which is pretty active with workers and customers regularly walking through. A server comes by and takes our drink order, i ordered a lemonade and got my son a water in a kids cup. I usually have my son sit beside me either on my left or my right. In this case, he was at my right with my back to the window. We had a full table of four to our right as well. I moved the high chair to my right so i could better control him and prevent any issues with messes and such. Shortly after as my son is drawing with the crayons, our server comes up to us and tells me that i have to move my son's high chair back to where it was because it was a fire hazard. I looked around and saw that there wasn't even an exit behind me or beside my son. So it didn't make any sense. Then he proceed to inform the manager who came by shortly after to tell me that the servers come by and could bump or drop food on to him because he's in the aisle. It still didn't make sense since his original seat placement was in an active doorway. But i didn't want to go back and forth and make a scene so i just said okay and proceed to try it their way. We got our drinks, he was doing fine in the beginning and then progressed into spilling the water all over the table and floor. While that was happening, i noticed that other tables of four were having fifth chairs added to the aisle which was contradictory to what i was told by the manager. I grew frustrated. When the server came back to ask for our food order, i just asked for the check. He wanted to make sure he heard correctly and said," the check?" I said yup. He brought the check and then i proceeded to take my son and pay for the lemonade that i barely drank and left. I went to my car and realized i forgot my phone so i went back inside. As i was walking back inside, the manager came up to me and told me that he moved the chair to side that i originally wanted. I also noticed that they completely cleaned the area and had a brand new water for my son. I was already annoyed at the contradiction with the other customers being seated and had already paid the bill. So i just quickly told the manager, that's fine, we're leaving. I went and got my phone off the table and left the restaurant. I don't know if we'll come back if we're in the area. read more

I think it's important to leave my feedback as I noticed a review of those defective horrible biscuits that were served not too long ago. We did go in with some concern but we just enjoy visiting Cracker Barrel when we are out of the city. We have been to several locations but usually down south. We were greeted by a kind woman (unfortunately I do not know her name) but she did share some holiday stories that made this location warming. We didn't want to sit near the kitchen and I had asked for the table behind us and I was told it was reserved - no one sat there for about 50 minutes so that was disappointing and not very accommodating. If we would have sat there, we wouldn't of had out wonderful waitress, Kira D. God is good. She was very attentive. In the beginning it did take some time to receive water and it was annoying. When she had returned she was very sincerely apologetic and we were taken care of the rest of our dining experience. Kira checked in regularly and was very sweet, and payed attention to every detail. Our cashiers name was Becky. She was incredibly kind and eager to help me look at the merchandise behind the cashier and we had a lovely conversation. The staff at this location is very sincere and kind. I did notice the couple sitting behind us - I could bit help but overhear that the mashed potatoes were sold out/finished, followed by 5 minutes later the macaroni and cheese was as well. Their server offered to make more and that was nice. It was towards the end of the evening so I can understand - and it is reassuring that the food is prepared fresh to order. With that being said, I would have been so disappointed if I visited and the mashed potatoes were gone! Gift shop was decked out with everything holiday. Wish they had some more Thanksgiving autumn decor. Nothing special in comparison to the other locations I have been to. Smaller gift shop section. Thanks so much! The Rebel Chef - ME - can't speak for all the other hungry and thirsty customers at this Cracker. But I had a marvelous experience at this location. This Cracker has all the games, stools, stores, candy, drinks and food that all the other locations have. In fact I almost had a feeling this one was even larger. It certainly was rustic, quaint and comfortable to dine, eat, ruminate and make calls. The food I had was spot on. My adult waitress was perfect and impeccable. When my drink ran low she brought me a fresh one with a smile. My waitress - again - was excellent and I left her a %30 tip afterwards. This Cracker Barrel fills up fast. Get here early or end up waiting for hours for a table where all the items you and your family want to order are sold out completely. Cracker B is the type of place that if you order it once, you can expect it to be that way again and again (whether to your liking or not.) Thankfully I tend to love everything here. Tried a cup of veg soup and it was a def PASS for next time- tasted like straight up progresso can. I tried the lemon pepper trout for the first time and WHOA.... just whoa. It was spectacular!!! 30 minute seat time took an hour. Apparently several workers called out and they were short staffed. Server came to table quickly took orders then after about 10 minutes came back and stated they were out of 3 of the 4 food items at our table. Then came back and 2 of the 3 magically were now available. Food served by another staffer s were very never came back for refills drinks. We decided to dine in and it's been the first time since the pandemic started. I didn't really know what to expect since it was so busy and there was a wait. I was pleasantly surprised. The tables were nicely spaced out and I felt very comfortable. The paper menus were converted to plastic menus to ensure proper cleaning. All of the employees were wearing masks and were extremely professional. Our food was delicious as always. Our server did forget to bring over something we asked for but apologized for forgetting. It was busy and the apology was very much appreciated. The French toast that my fiancé ordered was a little more eggy than usual but still tasted good. My grilled chicken tenderloins were juicy and tasty. My hash brown casserole portion was smaller than I've had in the past but I was full. Sunday January 27 2025. We were there from 9:15-10:30. My husband and I went for breakfast. Amanda was our waitress. Again second time and it's never been good. I asked for a Coke light on ice. The Coke was essentially ice you could see through it. Ok that's one. I asked for a children's grilled cheese sandwich since I eat little. I asked for a side of corn. Amanda said. It's not lunch time I can't bring you corn. It's the rude way she said it. So I asked for hash browns. She brings my grilled cheese and the cheese isn't melted. I asked can you please take it back and melt the cheese. She sucked her teeth and takes the plate. 10 minutes later I tell my husband jeez. It's gonna be roasted dark. And the hash brown also. Please understand. Most of my Cracker Barrel reviews are the same. The restaurants are all alike the difference is what I am ordering and staffing. Cracker Barrel is just the All American Go-To place when I am traveling. I mean, how can you go wrong here. No matter where I am it seems like the people are all the same. We came here for breakfast while traveling to Albany, NY on our way to our Kiwanis special meeting. From the second you're on the porch of CB until you sit down, it's like a deja vous from one restaurant to another. Always a nice greeting when you walk in and usually seated right away. Not rushed at all primarily due to the fact that seating is limited do to Covid. We were greeted by a very pleasant hostess and followed up by an extremely pleasant server. My wife and myself had a fabulous breakfast consisting of pancakes, fried and scrambled eggs, baked apples, sausage patties and thick cut payment. This place never disappoints you no matter what you order. All delicious and huge portions of food. A today's shout out goes to the fabulous pancakes. It was some serious YUM. Our waitress was delightful-pleasant-helpful who was genuinely concerned that everything at our table was to our liking. The level of caring here is commendable. I can't give them enough credit for their consistent food, pleasant team members and ability to handle people dining both inside and outside (during a pandemic) at the same time with an awesome level of service. The food was decent, mimosas were tasty as well, unfortunately our service was terrible. The place was not crowded at all when we got there but still waited a loooong time just to be acknowledged and get some coffee. At $3/cup for black coffee I'd hope for at least an offer of a refill, but no. Our waitress did nothing more than walk the food from the kitchen to our table. Can't say we were waited on at all, never once checked in with during our breakfast. The merch store was cool. We picked up some NY souvenirs there. All in all I'm throughly impressed by this franchise and I cannot wait to try it again. I never had it before and I realize what I have been missing. It is basically low country/comfort food at an exceptional price. The food was not like any other franchise. The food is fresh and it seems like someone is in the back putting their fist in the food. They are not microwaving here and if they are they are hiding it well. For the food it was either I love it or hate it. The grits were a flavorless mash. No salt, pepper or butter could revive them. The casserole hash browns which is one there popular was very average. The Sweet Tea was lackluster as well. Highs: The biscuit and gravy is such a great surprise to have. Very delicious and shareable. The chicken fried steak is outrageous. It was the star of my breakfast platter. It salty and has a beautiful crust. Here is the best part of the entire meal: fried apples. The fried apples need to be bottled and sold nationwide. I am officially on their cult following. I come here often but the past couple of times the food and service have been awful. Last night we came, the biscuits were actual hockey pucks they were so hard. We asked for fresh ones, they were also hard. Not sure how they were even served that way. Next I got the pot roast, the mashed potatoes were so dry and you could tell they have been sitting out for a long time, or heated too much causing them to dry out. The service is not great. Unfortunately there were a couple cons though: Sat in the room directly behind the cashier station against the wall separating the two. Um, someone needs to wipe the dried splattered food off the framed pictures that are hanging on the wall at table level. That was really disgusting and has evidently been there a long time. And not just on one. Now to the food - asked the waitress to bring out the muffins before the meal as we were starving. Nope. Came out when the meal did and were barely warm. Corn muffins have gotten blander as well. Used to be much sweeter. I ordered the chicken and dumplings. Taste was fine if bland, portion was nice sized. However there were actual cold spots in the dumplings. Now, I know the waitress was busy with a bunch of tables but it really would have been nice if someone had checked up on us after the food was delivered. No one did so I just dealt with it and ate. It wasn't terrible, just annoying. When the waitress finally showed up at the end of the meal to ask how everything was, I told her about the dumplings. To her credit she offered to replace it but by then I had already eaten and didn't want another portion. What did bother me though was her saying "Oh yeah, it seems we get a lot of complaints about that." WTH?! If you get "alot of complaints" about something wouldn't you do something about it? Like make sure it goes out hot? We'd eat here again as the food has gotten better since last time but I wouldn't order the chicken and dumplings. read more

Not edible. We all got various things off the menu and none of us walked out feeling we'd had a good meal. Gravy was chunky and flavorless. Hamburger was a premade patty and undercooked. I asked if they had onion rings and she said no. She couldn't be bothered to mention they had onion slivers. Waitress was in a mood and kept correcting us. She was upset we called the chicken strips, chicken strips. They shoved five of us at a four top up against the window with one of us having to sit at the end of the table. Considering 3 of the 5 were wide shouldered males, it didn't work out well. The place was empty and they sat us there. I should have pulled another table over, but I was trying to be understanding only for the service and food to be subpar. I would say I was surprised that this happened at a Cracker Barrel, but our last few visits at Cracker Barrel's at various locations across the country have been unimpressive. Surprisingly I really enjoyed the food here, I've had this booked marked for a while and since we were in the neighborhood we decided to try it out for lunch. As soon as you walk in, the decor gave me an old western country landmark vibe. You enter the retail/gift shop first then it leads you to the restaurant. Although we waited a while for the waitress to come (Layla) I believe that was her name she was super sweet and was knowledgeable of the menu. My first order was the latte and it was absolutely delicious, I didn't care so much for the biscuit ( which their known for). (My entree) the new homestyle chicken BLT was amazing. It's a crispy golden fried homestyle chicken drizzled with maple glaze topped with bacon, lettuce, tomato and sweet and smokey mayo on a bun. Always a delight here! We come here once a year at least when traveling through and visiting family in New York. We always seem to get the same waitress. She has always been amazing, gets the orders correct, stays on top of service, and never lets the drinks run low. I think she has been working for 10-20 years. The food here is not too shabby. Everything has always come out tasty, at least breakfast wise since that's when we are there most. The bathrooms were clean and stocked. The store is a little tight to walk around in, but manageable if you avoid high traffic areas. read more

In the past, I have not been a fan of Cracker Barrel. I mean it was OK, but generally not the kind of food I enjoy. Until this past weekend, that is. They now have Southern Fried Chicken - and it's good! I mean it is really good! Between that, the side salad, and the mac and cheese, I was very happy with my meal. The other thing that helped was the service. Our server was EXCELLENT. He actually seemed like he enjoyed his job, and he was wonderful. He misheard my order the first time - thought I ordered Country Fried Chicken instead of Southern Fried. He apologized, and immediately put in the new order. He checked on us a few times, and kept us apprised of the status of the corrected meal. He truly was an excellent server! The other thing that really made the meal great was the soda they had - I had the Blue Sky Blood Orange. It was weird because it was clear, but then the server explained that there is nothing artificial - so no food coloring, and it was made with cane sugar. It was great. Light and refreshing - not too sweet and not overly carbonated. I would get this soda wherever I see it! read more
