I am a resident and went to lunch here. Food was great but the waitress was rude, not friendly, and very slow. Never checked on me, or asked me for a refill. It took 15-20 minutes to get my check. Last night my wife and I split a dinner at this Cracker Barrel. We chose one of the new specials: Golden Carolina BBQ Chicken Tenders. We did not ask for the steak fries but the chicken was served on top of them. We chose two other sides, green beans and something else that my wife wanted. We were very disappointed with the "golden" BBQ sauce. It ruined the meal. I ended up wiping it off with some of the spare napkins. There were a good amount of tenders in the order 6 or 7. That was we opted to split it. I had two more sides, cole slaw & grits...can't get enough grits. All the side were good. They need to drop that BBQ sauce. It kinda had a "peachy" flavor. Too bad you don't have minus....it was the very worst place I ever had to take my grand children and other family members to. It's placed by a hotel and our food was so slow that some of the children left to be able swim in the pool with out dinner. Four hours of horrible service and nasty food. Not edible. We had been excited for the cozy hospitable Cracker Barrel vibes tonight...instead, it ended up being a terrible awful no-good wreck. :D Would like to suggest new management at store 193. We frequent Cracker Barrel often, but this experience was so awful we just had to laugh to avoid crying over the extreme disappointment. Table was sticky and gritty to the touch, immediately requested it to be wiped. (Never happened). Asked for butter for the biscuits 4x. (Never happened). Our server had an earbud in and would pass or stand by the doorway multiple times without assisting us. Multiple items missing from our meal, but upon delivery server did not stay long enough at the table to hear what we needed. Half the food was lukewarm, the other half was burnt to an oily crisp. Requested fresh fries from the manager who promised satisfaction. (Manager never returned, we still didn't get butter. Another plate of "crispy" fries arrived just before we left). Waited with empty glasses through the entire meal, finally received 1 refill just before we left. Dining room was full of dirty tables, but almost no clientele and the servers were just standing around. Not cleaning tables or serving, just hanging around chatting. Again another place of business that I'm shocked on prior ratings of 2 1/2 stars. We had a young lady named Lakin as our server who was exceptional. The food was delicious. The place was very clean. thing I love most is the Cracker Barrel near my home you have to wait up to about an hour to sit, and we walked in and sat down immediately Again the food was delicious. The service was excellent. every person who waited on us was very friendly. What more does a person want in a restaurant? Plus unlike Belleville Mi they serve alcohol!! read more

Well this night they must have missed, my meatloaf was thin and icebox cold as was her chicken dinner, asked for mashed potatoes and brown gravy and got white and very little of that, waited all thru the meal for my pinto beans and greens and never got them along with the cornbread and my coke had no ice in it and my wife's coffee was cold as was the waitress, tried to get the waitress but she kept looking the other way, tried to get a Mgr but nobody told him and on another note the sitting area was nasty with tables full of dirty dishes they had to clean a table off just so we could sit down, the only clean place was the bathroom and I couldn't understand that read more

The food was subpar and minimal - even the waitress who brought out my plate said that is the smallest helping of hashbrown casserole that she had seen and said she would bring me extra - but it seems she forgot. If the service made the experience this place would be out of business. Party of 6 got no plates with appetizers we had to ask twice. 3 out of 6 side orders were wrong. When we asked for an order of grits about in between the appetizers and food they never made it to the table and when the bill came we asked about it was told I forgot. Stopped here on our road trip. Tried the new bacon and egg hash brown casserole, and it was delicious. Two helpings of hashbrown casserole, cheddar cheese melted on top of that, three slices of bacon and an egg scrambled or I opted for over easy served with two biscuits and the obligatory butter and jam bowl. Loved the haddock and loved the dumplings. Chicken salad is very dense and tasty--a worthwhile dish. Great service, good food. I'll be blunt: a first for me with a Cracker Barrel being good. Though I've never been to this specific one. I've been to another half a dozen times and not as good as this one. My mother loves this chain, but I'm always reluctant. But again, this place was a good time and didn't take 30 minutes to get your food like other experiences. But that's sometimes the bane of sit-down restaurants. Cracker Barrel usually serves a solid and tasty meal for a chain restaurant but this meal wasn't quite up to par. The roast beef was okay but tasted somewhere between one of those pre-cooked entrees you buy at the grocery store and a usual CB meal. The biscuits weren't hard tack or anything but weren't as fresh as usual. At least the fried okra was fresh and hot. On the plus side, they sell Moon Pies and pecan logs in the store so I was able to get a couple of those for the long road trip ahead. This place is okay if you're staying nearby but I'd choose a different location along the road given the choice. read more

I've only been to Cracker Barrel a few times in my life, and this experience in West Virginia was actually better than my last Cracker Barrel meal! All Cracker Barrels are similar in the sense that they have an adjoining store and an identical restaurant menu. There is the expected country theme. This location had weekday lunch specials for $5.99 which are a great deal, but I opted for something off the regular menu. My waitress was attentive and friendly throughout the whole meal. She even told me that when I ordered a cup of soup in addition to my entree with two sides, she would just enter me as the system as entree with three sides, since that would be cheaper (I didn't realize soup counted as a side). I ordered the chicken 'n dumplins with turnip greens, sweet potato casserole, and biscuits, plus a cup of campfire beef soup. All of the food came out nice and hot, and you get quite a large serving of the chicken and dumplings. The turnip greens were cooked with meat and were very flavorful, and the sweet potato casserole had a decent amount of pecan (one of my favorite nuts). My meal was only $9.99 before tax, so it was a bargain! Good food, good service, and a pleasant dining atmosphere made for a solid Cracker Barrel visit! read more

Want the BEST unevenly cooked meal and bad experience ?! Then you MUST try this place!! 2:40 and the place is NOT busy... 1) Watched two tables of over 6 people get their meals...separately. First few people at each table got their meals, then 10 mins or so later, the rest of the table got their meal. 2) We were shown to our table. Hostess tapped the waitress on the shoulder to get her out of the way. She took one step back and decided to chat it up with the table next to us, making me stand and wait to be seated. Saw me, didn't care. 3) The above same waitress later interrupted our conversation to "refill our sugar" container. Why? A) neither of us had coffee B) it was already.... FULL 4) Waiter that took our order said it "will be a while for the burger". Odd. 5) 40 minutes later.....lukewarm BURNT burger on a charcoal burnt bun and way over done, tough, leathery, cold fries with 3 fresh hot fries on top. The other meal was shrimp, that were rubber and the hashbrown casserole was the worst this person has ever ate. 6) Right before we got our meal, a family of 3 sat down and 5-8 minutes later, had their meal. The rest of the tables had been waiting 40 minutes and some longer as they were seated before us. 7) Make sure you drink all your drink as they do not give refills, at least our waiter didn't. 8) Lady next to us ordered just a salad and shamefully told her friend she couldn't finish it because it was so bad 9) when we left, they were taking names and making people wait. Mind you, the first section of tables had 1 table of customers....the rest were empty 10) oh and the "roll" and "biscuit" did not look normal. I think it was the corn muffin, it was so pale it didn't look cooked but it was so heavy it could have hurt someone if it was thrown. Then the biscuit was just plain pale. Only 1 of each and most places give you 2 of each so each person can have 1 of each Now picture this amazing Crack Barrel.....about an hour and half west from this location, a Cracker Barrel on (ex) a Sunday at noon, you get seated, the restaurant is crowded, you get one of the best burgers and fries within 15 minutes. read more

Boy am I glad she did! The food was AMAZING, but the service was even better! I had the pleasure of meeting & being served by Clarissa! I swear, if she was any sweeter I'd get a cavity! I don't think in my entire life I've ever had better service. My cup of sweet tea was never empty, and she was constantly asking me if everything was okay. She was VERY attentive! Stopped here on a road trip to Martinsville, chose to go here because we always go to Cracker Barrel's on our trips, it's a decent franchised restaurant. This location is TERRIBLE. Hostess named Katie completely ignoring people wanting to put their name in. Didn't get the phone number right. Still waited quite a bit to be seated, expecting to see a full restaurant.. to come to a basically EMPTY restaurant. As we've been eating, 3 tables have left.. 15 minutes later & the tables still have plates on them. Before we were seated a manager came out wondering why there was a wait, and then radioed to find the apparently 2 hostesses.. and didn't even BOTHER to step in and help them, instead she goes & messes around with a display of peeps. Another disappointing visit. Seated and waited on quickly, but it went downhill from there. When the food arrived, the biscuits appeared to be those hexagonal shaped frozen biscuits like you can get from Walmart. These were maybe 2 1/2 inches across. I've noticed over the last few visits that the biscuits have gotten progressively smaller. But they're always looked homemade. After that, we had to ask the server for the butter she didn't bring. After the butter arrived, my wife noticed there wasn't any jelly either, so she asked for some. She was brought ONE pack of jelly. One. This location is in drastic need of good management.
