We had a large family dinner here at Cracker Barrel yesterday Sunday 11/19/22 14 people. Our server was new and very nervous, she stated we were her FIRST table! A bit overwhelming you would think! She actually did a phenomenal job!! The issue (our issue) was with the food we got, half of our table got their food and was finished eating before the rest of us got our food! It took almost 1, one hour for us to get our food, and when it did arrive it was cold and under cooked ( under cooked is being generous)!!! I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone!!! It was by far the most horrible experience we have ever had in any restaurant!!!! I would give this place ZERO stars but you can't!!! read more

I know I said I would never return to the Georgetown Cracker Barrel, but maybe the lure of that big fireplace and the cold weather caused me to rethink my position and I'm so glad I did. Jacob, my waiter, was wonderful. He made sure I never saw the bottom of my coffee cup and that my order was perfect. No more stale cornbread that couldn't be cut with a knife, only fresh delicious cornbread was served. My order was delivered promptly and cooked to perfection. This visit was 180° from my previous visits and I'm so glad. There is nothing like sitting by a roaring fire in the winter eating good home cooking. read more

Who does not like breakfast for dinner. If you sometimes miss breakfast like I do you can always catch up at lunch or dinner here. Their breakfast is always a "go to". Sure all the other meals are just as good. But I believe that having breakfast at dinner sometimes tricks your brain that it's still morning and you can still catch that late night binge on Netflix. Mom pancake breakfast pizza s my favorite followed by eggs in a basket. You could never cook this much goodness at home. So glad be them a try. read more

Well, I still love the Cracker Barrel. My son gets sucked in the store before even getting food. Of course he remembers every single darn toy that he is begging me to buy. But you know what, let me flip this... he can only get one toy if he eats his entire meal. Bam! The magic of bribery. It works every time. (try it, really!) So, this is probably the first time I have eaten here and not ordered the chicken and dumplings. Why, I dunno... I figured, let's break the pattern and try something new. I ordered the BBQ chicken breast, fried okra and turnip greens. I learned something today, their turnip greens are not similar to collard greens until you put vinegar on them. It was shocking to take my first bite. But once the vinegar was applied the magic was there! No fail, everytime, the fried okra was amazing. But really, I should have gone for the chicken and dumplings. My son ended up ordering a kids size macaroni and cheese and enjoyed every single bite of it while playing with the table game. Unfortunately, there was not enough room in our bellies for dessert, but oh how I had to remember to purchase the one toy my son obsessed over dinner. All in all, great experience again. read more

I've been to this Cracker Barrel a bunch of times but tonight the service was so lacking I felt the need to review. My dining companion and I both ordered the special and despite the restaurant being only about half full, still waited nearly half an hour to receive food. Food arrived and was average at best. Ordered macaroni and cheese as a side and it was more like soup, extremely runny. Chicken portion was generous and well cooked. Service was another story. In addition to waiting far too long for our meal we also both sat with empty drinks and refills were not offered automatically. Dishes were not cleared and even though we both had a ton of food left, boxes were not offered. Looks like it's time for a break from this location. read more

This is one of the worst experiences I've had at CB. Part of it was probably because our server seemed new. I ordered grilled catfish with a side of steamed broccoli and hash brown casserole. When the food came, he brought out cornmeal breaded catfish so I said something right away. He paused and said he'd see what he could do. As if he might not be able to get the food I'd actually asked for. It wasn't until later I noticed that my broccoli was raw not steamed and just drizzled with some light sauce. By that point, there didn't seem to be a point bring up another issue. I also asked him to bring the kids meals out early if possible. But that didn't happen. Maybe it was just a bad day for him, because it was not good service. But the food was poor too. The breading on the shrimp was overly hard and tough, like it had been kept warm too long, or almost burnt. Nothing tasted amazing. Maybe it was an off day for everyone. Our server seemed to be more interested in who was messaging her on her cellphone and when we got our food it was cold and looked like it was cooked last week. This is your typical, close to the interstate, Cracker Barrel franchise. Since my last review of a CB, I still have yet to figure out where the name originates and I'm still thinking it might be a racial jab. Oh yeah, I'll forgive them because they have good food and my grandpa loved going to any Cracker Barrel. It was Father's Day and our brunch spot was chosen by my franchise loving dad, so of course it was Cracker Barrel. From the looks of the crowded parking lot, I thought that we would be waiting a while, but it our 15-20 minute estimated wait was only about 10 minutes. One pleasant observation that I made, was the iPad at the hostess stands. I don't think they've worked out the kinks of using such technology though. Just like at any Cracker Barrel, we start off by ordering biscuits and corn bread. Sometimes they bring out a crap ton, and sometimes they bring a few per person. Either way, they're free. For my meal, I ordered the vegetable platter... side salad, pinto beans, dumplings and cucumber/onion/tomato salad. Everything was great. It was the first time I'd had the cucumber/onion/tomato concoction, it was ok... mostly cucumbers and really not portioned big enough, in my opinion. The service was just ok. Our waitress kept forgetting things. But the meals were correct and prompt, so I was happy and so was my dad. read more

We always go to Cracker Barrel when traveling. The portions are big and always served hot. The bottomless cup of coffee is a must. Love their biscuits and gravy, baked apples, and a must have grits. Syrup is served in small bottles that comes very warm. read more

I have eaten at this Cracker Barrel twice and both times I enjoyed my dinner. The service is good and everyone who works here is very nice. I have to mention what happened to me at my visit yesterday to the Cracker Barrel. I met a very sweet woman named Sue. She was so nice and made my children feel very at home during dinner. Sue was eating dinner after her shift and was so sweet my three year old daughter asked her to come have dinner with us. My family and I came in without a reservation (I'm not even sure they take reservations, but that is beside the point) and were told we would have a bit of a wait, as there were 11 of us in total. We did not mind and sat on the porch in the rocking chairs. My sister was called up within a few minutes and we were seated promptly, but we were seated at three different tables due to my sister thinking the family would rather be seated quickly rather than have an entire table for the whole family. I, of course, was not happy. My family was together for the first time in years, me coming from Seattle, my father coming from Michigan, and my mother and other siblings coming from Tennessee, all for my niece's high school graduation. I insisted that we be seated all together, after all of us had been placed at different tables. The staff was very accommodating of my request, and took responsibility (even though my sister told them it would be OK to place us at different tables) and had us seated within ten minutes at a table that could accommodate all of us. Our two waitresses were very helpful and efficient and the management made sure that we (I) was satisfied with our new seating arrangement. All of the food was delicious, and we could not have asked for a more family friendly environment for our family reunion. The food is good but is usually cold by the time it gets to the table. The place is always packed and we deal with at least 4 different employees every time we go. This makes it hard to ask for anything because they are always running around and ignore the guests even if they make eye contact. I like their food but it is not worth waiting an hour for. As a vegetarian, they don't have that many options but even the few items I can get are cold and soggy before they can reach my mouth. We have to basically beg for biscuits and muffins. Once a person drops food off at the table, they seem to disappear off of the face of the earth until it's time to bring the check. Save your time and money and go to another place. read more

All we wanted was breakfast, we originally stop somewhere else and the crowd looked large, so we went down the street to Cracker Barrel, we were told a 20 minute wait it only took about 30 minutes, once we were seated I had to ask a manager for something to drink, finally the server arrived took mine and my wife's order, simple breakfast, she always asked for eggs over easy, I got pancake in scrambled eggs. Simple breakfast, as my wife said she could have made the eggs in three minutes. Were there 30 minutes I again asked for a refill, the server was pleasant, she apologized, she said it's hard to find people to work, she said the kitchen staff was short staffed. Yet the restaurant was packed, but they had told us that from the beginning, we could've went somewhere else, with a full restaurant and plenty of servers you would think they would get the food out quickly, I began to notice that if anyone ordered a lunch menu, their food come out within 30 minutes, now that's too long, but we sat at our table for over an hour and a half before our meal was brought to us, then I had to ask for a manager again because they did not bring all of my wife's food, the manager quickly returned with the second plate, and her eggs were not over easy, the manager went to make the second order of eggs, it took 10 minutes. My wife says she can make them in three minutes. We asked for the bill, the server again and apologized, and I went up to pay. I did not ask for a manager, I wasn't looking for free food, the likelihood of me ever going to this Cracker Barrel again he's probably pretty low. It would've been nice to know when advance that they were short staffed, more importantly if you can't get the job done don't open the entire restaurant, I can only imagine the poor cook in the back, trying to make food for a full building of customers. It's so sad, food is expensive, we go out to enjoy our experience, two and a half hours at one restaurant including the wait is unacceptable, for a simple breakfast. I would give zero stars, but you have to give at least one, I would not recommend this restaurant at all. So sad!! read more

Sunday 8-15-21. we had 4 adults and two small children. After a 45 minute wait to be seated, we waited 1 hour and 20 minutes and still had not gotten our food. I did not dine here, but we stopped here for a pit stop and to shop at the store. My sister and I had fun browsing, and all of the store personnel were friendly and helpful. They had some Christmas things that were fun, but what I ended up buying was a combo of piggy themed kitchen items. I bought a pig chip clip, spatula, and timer for a Christmas exchange that I do with running friends. Many have run the Flying Pig in Cincinnati, and these will be perfect. They were very reasonable, and the store ladies were soooo polite and helpful! read more

Placed and paid for order online without a problem but beyond that nothing went well. Curbside pickup was very slow! Once home we found several items that we paid for were missing. Several sides were missing and one of us had nothing we ordered. Needless to say it was a disappointing dinner for our family gathering. Would not recommend this Cracker Barrel to anyone. We were seated and left alone for about 10 minutes. While other tables seated by the same employee were served drinks by her before the waiter came by. They received "special treatment". Should have left then. Once we did get to place a basic breakfast food order we spent over an hour waiting for the food. Other tables that were seated after us received their orders first. Once it came out half of my order was missing and what was there was cold. They just dropped it and left. When they did come by I asked for a to go box and said I want leave here. He could tell I wasn't happy but didn't even bother to apologize or grab a manger. Received one drink the whole time there. The place was half empty on a Friday around 10:00. Completely unacceptable and will never go back to a Cracker Barrel. We all work to hard for our money to be treated at a business like that. read more

We went to the Cracker Barrel after traveling all day. My parents wanted to go, it was familiar, so we went. The hostess was trying to be friendly and joking with the customers, but her joke (to the man by himself) was to suggest that they were going to walk him right out of the building! Way to be friendly. It may have been ok with the guy she told the joke to, but it fell pretty flat with the rest of us. And then she made the same joke to my dad! Not cool. Our waitress was wonderful. I wish I'd gotten her name. She was friendly, gave us the time we needed, made suggestions on the menu, and was there promptly for all of our needs. She was the bright spot of the night. The food was not. Corn muffins were cold and hard, biscuits were dry. The gravy on the Country fried steak was blah, not nearly peppery enough, nor hot enough. My parents, who are no gourmands, even found the food bland and uninspiring. You can do better. read more

I am a long time fan of Cracker Barrel and will probably always be. However, for the last several months I have been less that satisfied with the service and food at the Georgetown restaurant. Something has changed, even to the biscuits. They no longer melt in your mouth and lack the taste of the past. They are "tough" and just not good. For some reason the service is now slow even during off peak hours. This might explain why the mashed potatoes are usually cold. This is one food that should always be hot. And then today I ordered pancakes with blackberry topping and was served blueberry pancakes (over cooked) with a small dish half filled with blackberry juice and 5 cold blackberries. I keep coming back every Sunday hoping to experience an improvement but so far I haven't seen any. read more

Some friends and I stopped in here to eat on the way home from a trip and everyone's food came out except for mine. I waited until everyone else was finished eating before I even got my food. Our waitress (Kasey) did a fantastic job of making sure our tea and coffee where full and that we had everything we wanted. The food is typical cracker barrel, very acceptable. The little "country store" used to carry some interesting useful things such as cast iron cookware, but seems to only sell battery operated flying pigs and such novelties. read more

When we got our food we hadn't even got our complimentary bread and when we got our food we saw that there was an eyelash in the dumpling now and all of our food was cold and some of our companions food didn't care me for ages. While the sit-down service is usually at least on par, the to-go service always leaves much to be desired. I live not far from this store and order from there frequently. About half the time my to-go orders are not correct: something is forgotten or the wrong thing was placed on the ticket, that sort of thing. Additionally, I believe the to-go phone is in the kitchen which is frequently loud and obnoxious, making it difficult for both parties to understand what's being said. Since they started reviewing orders with you before you leave the restaurant, they usually fix it right there. But this still means that you're standing there an extra 5 to 10 minutes while your food is getting cold. Food is usually okay, but this aspect of their service needs much improvement. read more

Our waitress was awesome! Food sucks! I mention to the waitress about the thin flat pancakes awful! She explained that it depends on the cook. That they have a nice lady chef that makes the best pancakes, and some man that just do what they want. She also explains that the pancakes has a formula that the prepared the mix then they have to wait to make it rise then make some more mix wait until it rises to have the perfect fluffy pancakes,some chefs are lazy don't do it some do. The customer service here is terrible! I went to the hostess stand to order a carry out. She proceeded to tell me I needed to wait in line for a cashier. After waiting behind 3 people the cashier simply picked up the phone and called a server to take my order. There was no one in line at the hostess stand, not sure why she couldn't have found a server for me. Upon taking my order the server was stopped by the gift shop manager before she made it back to the kitchen to enter my order. They stood there and proceeded to talk for close to 5 minutes. All this time I was waiting for my carry out which I was told would take no more than 10 minutes. Trying to be supportive of restaurants during these COVID-19 self-quarantine days sure would be easier if the restaurants paid attention to the orders and got them right, especially when you're tipping in good faith prior to receiving the botched orders. We ordered three breakfast/lunches this morning, and the only 'modifications' we wanted were (1) side of honey mustard, (1) side of ranch, and NO ICE in the Coke. The online ordering platform SUCKS, and what's up with that? Cracker Barrel corporate doesn't have enough money to build something comparable to the other giant chains? I'm embarrassed for them. Anyway, since there wasn't an option to add condiments (or anything else, for that matter) to each meal, nor was there a text box to make general comments, I had to leave our requests in the delivery instructions. Naturally, they weren't seen by the restaurant and we received ice and no sauces. First world problems, I know, but restaurants need not beg for business if they don't intend to fulfill orders correctly and completely. This really isn't a reflection of Georgetown's CB as much as it is of corporate's poor technology. read more
