Lemon Pepper Grilled Rainbow Trout $12.99 12/5/2022

Monday early evening around 5:50pm. Kind of busy but also not all the tables were filled. Server came by quickly asking if I needed time. I was ready so placed order right away and waited for 15-20min. Probably the kitchen was backed up. Drinks were served right after around 6pm. The food came out around 6:20pm. Everything was good. Trouts were super delicious. Chose steamed broccoli and whole kernel corn. Best choices. I added two sunny side up fried eggs on the side. The presentation wasn't the best but I did not mind it at all. Added large orange juice at $2.99. All came out at around $21 and added 20% to be at just under $26. I would come for trouts here again.

This was our first time dining at Craker Barrel. We went here because we didn't feel like driving far and this place was located in front of our hotel.. I wish I can give more stars. To be honest, I will give this place one star but I really can't do it to my server. Place - as soon as we walk in the restaurant, we went through some kind of a gift shop. I said this will be interesting since I have three kids with me. Don't get me wrong. I don't mind it though. I actually like the idea. Once we stepped in that's where the problem actually started. The floor is sticky. The table is sticky. The chair has crumbs on it. Luckily I had my sanitizing wipes with me so I wipe the table and chair. The server - we got the nicest and loveliest lady ever. She always checked on us and put my kids order first because she knew how kids can be scary if they're hungry. The 3 stars are for her. The food and price - The fish that I got was good however the hash brown was too dry and the green beans was spoiled and mushy. You can taste the sourness in it. My husband got the fried chicken and has brown. The chicken was actually good. My kids lunch was good except for the mashed potatoes. It didn't taste fresh. I really can't explain it but it's kinda sour. Price wise I don't mind. The portion was good. I just wish the taste was better. Overall, we might come back if we feel like it but if there's another option, we might not.

The BEST cinnamon apples slices ever and perfect for dessert.

It's been a couple of years since I have been to this particular Cracker Barrel. Came here with my sister and husband yesterday. My sister got the Wednesday special of broccoli chicken and mashed potatoes and chicken and dumplings. She doesn't have a Cracker Barrel where she lives; so this was a real treat. She said that it was absolutely delicious and had such a great flavor. She wished the cornbread was a little softer; but that was really her only complaint. I had their chicken n dumplings. Finally found a restaurant that they don't use eggs in their dumplings....win-win for me. It literally is the perfect pregnancy food. I had a side of corn with it, which I honestly thought was very bland. I felt it could have used some butter and salt, at the very least. Their side of sweet carrots was fantastic. Perfect taste all around. My husband had their bacon cheese burger with extra bacon and extra cheese. He said that everything was fantastic. And their biscuits were great. Sad they only brought butter out but it was still warm and acceptable. Will definitely have to come back before 2 years next time.

Slow. So very Slow. Think of slow service and then add 30 minutes. After we ordered we still had to wait almost an hour.

A 5 minute wait turned into 30 and still not seated. Service is the slowest at any restaurant we've visited.

The charm of old tables with mismatched chairs, even a bench made from an old bed headboard. The staff is great. Quick to answer questions and offer suggestions. The bar is huge. Bottles upon bottles. Then there is the food. Locally sourced and cooked to order. My mom ordered the catfish. It looked delicious and she ate every bite on the plate. My breakfast bowl was absolutely perfect! Potatoes roasted to perfection with awesome hot sausage with eggs cooked to order and covered in the best sausage gravy that I have ever had! We started with the…read morecornbread with sorghum butter, and for entrees we got the vegetable plates so we could sample a little bit of everything. I had high hopes going in, and they were completely dashed. Let's start with what actually worked, because there were a few bright spots. The water was great. Our server was attentive and genuinely kind. The music and overall ambiance were lovely; it's clear a lot of thought went into the atmosphere. Unfortunately, that's where the good stuff ends. The cornbread was the first sign something was off. It was sour, like someone accidentally dumped vinegar into the batter, and it was thin, barely half an inch. The sorghum butter didn't taste anything like sorghum, and the quality was so poor I'd genuinely guess it was margarine. My partner ordered the hush puppies, which had clearly sat in the fryer too long; they were right on the edge of burnt. The mashed potatoes are marketed as "whipped," but what arrived was lumpy, skins and all. To be fair, the flavor itself wasn't bad. The mac and cheese was actually a highlight, smoky, well balanced, with a nice consistency. I'd recommend that one without hesitation. My farmers salad, though, was a mess: they dress it in house and way overdo it, plus they inexplicably loaded it with pepper. The cucumbers had a strange, off flavor that made them inedible. And then there were the greens, the biggest letdown of the whole meal. Sweet greens. Who serves sweet greens? It genuinely felt like the vinegar meant for the greens ended up in the cornbread instead, like the whole kitchen got its recipes crossed. I hate saying this part, but I have to be honest: the flies were unbearable. I spent more time swatting them away from my plate than actually enjoying my food, which is a hard thing to get past at any restaurant. Local Feed has real potential. The setting, the service, and the concept are all there. But the kitchen needs to seriously reassess these recipes and bring in someone who understands how to execute real Southern, farm-to-table cooking. I wanted this to be a great meal, and instead it was one disappointment after another.
