I'm going to start with the positives. The food was good and Jennifer was fantastic, it's just a shame she wasn't our server. So our server was Jeannie and our service was terrible. We got there just before 9:00 and they got busy shortly thereafter so we understood a bit of a wait. BUT...she told us that at 9:00 they changed her tables so she only had 3 and would be able to "dedicate more time to us"...yeah, that never happened! It took her FOREVER to bring out biscuits and jelly. Then when our food finally did come she forgot my brother's hashbrown casserole. We had to flag down a manager to get that because she was nowhere to be seen. We say all the other servers hustling about but not ours who only had 3 tables at this point. I had to ask for creamer for my coffee several times and for napkins. When we were about finished eating she brought out our ticket and said she'd be "back to check on us shortly"...well I don't need you to check on me NOW! The worst of all is when I got to the bottom of my blueberry pancakes, there was a piece of paper stuck to the plate...GROSS! Worst service at this location by far!

This was their second attempt at over easy eggs.

So the parking lot was empty and we assumed that was a good thing as it was superbowl Sunday. No waiting to get seated as there were literally only 3 other tables of customers in the place. We came here because I wanted breakfast and well it is Cracker Barrel and that is kinda their thing! Well it seemed today all of the cooks must have called out and all of the back up cooks were out too. It seriously appeared as no on enter knew how to cook today. I ordered my breakfast with over easy eggs. Now every place I have ever been over easy means runny yolk and semi sold white. Over medium is solid white and runny yolk. Over hard is just gross.. as everything is hard. So,I get my eggs and know Right away they are way over cooked. I hate sending Food back because I have seen enough YouTube videos of people spiting in it etc. but my eggs were gross and I could not eat them so I did send the, back. The eggs I got back on the second try were just as bad. I cute them up just to see if by chance they might be medium but no luck, solid yolks and burned whites. At that point I was done. My wife's food was an easy order. A cheeseburger. Well I guess since it is winter they are serving hockey pucks as her burger was the hardest most well done burger I have ever seen. She even asked for it to be cooked medium. Who ever was cooking has no clue how to cook and who ever the manager is has no clue how to manage as we still paid for a meal we did not eat. it was not comped or those items taken off our check. I am not one to argue so I simply paid the check and we left and went somewhere else for dinner. We walked next door to Logan's. It is a crying damn shame when you have to buy dinner twice to get a meal you can actually eat. This was the worst meal I have ever had at a Cracker Barrel. And again let me point out by the time we had left only two other tables had been seated. It was not busy at all so there is zero excuse for the awful food. I hope someone from Cracker Barrel reads this and reaches out because I should, not have had to pay for a meal we did not eat and left sitting on the table. Now out server was great and very apologetic and we understand this was not her fault so we still gave her a $10 for the $35 ticket of food we did not eat!

This particular location always has excellent fast service. The restrooms are clean and the store is always well stocked. They usually sell local college football merchandise at discounted prices. We like to visit during cold weather mornings when they have the wood fireplace in service. Give this location a try when driving through Gulfport, you won't be disappointed. Enjoy!

We stopped by here on our way back home from Bay St. Louise. I have always loved their chicken n' dumplings and vegetables. The serving was huge and tasted good but the chicken was overcooked. Pintos overcooked. Cornbread grainy. But every restaurant has its day. Always a nice atmosphere and friendly folks. The real bummer is being a points member and you could receive a free slice of their chocolate cake. Only they were out of

Do not order the cocktails as they come out of a can. Taste terrible with cheap tequila.

The food was tasteless and not warm. It took very long for the food to come out. Would not recommend and will not be back.

Okay, so I love Applebee's. I know it's a lame-o place to love, but it's true. I think their food…read moreis really good and I like the casual ambience and the effort each location puts in to having some element of local culture or history inside. As you can imagine, I've visited a lot of different locations! That being said, this is probably the worst experience I've ever had at an Applebee's. We arrived a few minutes before 10pm on a Tuesday. No issues being sat, though why they decided to put a group of five at the biggest table in the restaurant when the building was almost completely empty, I'm not sure. Our server was...fine? She seemed really stressed and a little absent. The result was pretty mediocre service. The whole reason we stopped in was to order half-price appetizers. Where I'm from, apps are half off the menu price after 9pm every night. Here, they have what they call "late night" apps, which is just a marketing scheme to make you think you're going to get your appetizers for half price when you actually have to wait until the last hour that they're open, it's only select appetizers, and they aren't actually half price. This whole duplicitous practice made me so mad that I wanted to leave! However, it was late, we were all tired, and we hadn't eaten, so this was pretty much our only option. We ordered a total of 2 appetizers and 2 drinks (other than water). Margarita - no salt on the rim after specifically requesting it. When it was corrected, it was done by another pissy member of staff, perhaps a manager? Coke - watered down. Didn't bother asking to correct it. Mozzarella sticks - underdone and falling apart when I tried to pick them up. It came with a half-full container of marinara. Boneless wings - ordered at the same time as the mozzarella sticks, came out 10 minutes after. And the cherry on top was an additional charge for marinara. I get two marinara sauces every single time I order mozzarella sticks, which is every time I go to Applebee's. I have NEVER been charged for this. Not to mention the fact that our waitress didn't tell me she was going to upcharge me! That's incredibly bad practice as a server, which I know from experience. Go anywhere else. I'm so serious.

I ordered a steak, and it was decent; I enjoyed my meal. The food was slightly saltier than I preferred, but I topped my steak with the shrimp parm topper, and I believe that's what made it slightly saltier. I ordered my food, and it was ready for pickup within 25 minutes. The restaurant only had a few tables filled, so that most likely explains the quick turnaround. My meal was decent for the price point. I did not have any issues with being overcharged, as some of the previous comments suggested. I was greeted within a minute of walking in, so I really had no issues and no complaints.

It was very good, but not sure what that thin sauce on it was, plus a few crumbled pieces of blue cheese. Kind of hard to hold and eat unless you smash it down. Craving satisfied.

While in town for our yearly vacation, we decided on Woody's Roadside for a quick and easy dinner…read morebased on the reviews and pictures, as well as recommendations from a few locals. Unfortunately we were left pretty underwhelmed with the experience. It's not that Woody's is bad, per se, it just isn't...good. The service was great. Our server, Jaclyn, was very attentive and helpful. She didn't hover but she made sure we had what we needed and was nearby if we had questions or requests. Jaclyn recommended the margarita, which is where things started going downhill. My dad ordered a classic lime margarita and didn't take more than a couple drinks of it. We all tried it and agreed it just had a nasty flavor. Sort of like bad white grape juice? It was weird, and of course there's a little asterisk on the menu that notes all alcohol sales as final. We were unimpressed with that but didn't even try to argue the point. Our food came next. It was actually incredibly fast service, especially considering the 30-top that was seated when we arrived, with their orders given to the kitchen right before ours. Everything was hot and fresh, though not all delicious. Here's a run down of my family's reviews of their food: Build-A-Burger w/ Amer. cheese - A bit too thick and tough like the meat had been slightly overworked, but it had a great flavor and was seasoned well. The edges were burnt and it was well done, not medium well. Good beer-battered fries. Spicy Hawaiian chicken sandwich - Very flavorful and tropical but the toppings made the bun soggy and the ratio of filling to bun was way off, even with ham and lettuce removed. Crab cake tower - The fried green tomatoes and sauce were great, as was the corn bean salsa that came with it. The crab cakes were good too, though nothing special. The shrimp on top were juicy and well-seasoned. Wouldn't go back for it though. Korean pork tacos w/ mac & cheese - They were okay. The slaw included was a bit too sour but the pork was juicy and flavorful. The mac & cheese was too bland. Chicken strips & fries - The chicken tenders were cut wrong so they were hard to eat. I had to cut them up with a fork and knife to get bite-sized pieces that I could chew. They had a good flavor but the technique needs some work. The beer-battered fries have a strange seasoning on them that got more unpleasant the more I ate, but everyone else liked them, so that's probably just me. This is one of my least favorite restaurants we've been to on the Gulf Coast, which is unfortunate because I honestly thought I was going to like it a lot! For the price, I don't think this is a great place, especially because it's pretty out of the way from the main drag(s).
