It's been a minute since I've been to a Cracker Barrel and they've re vamped. They now have iced coffee which was impressive but the entire menu has changed. I went with some blueberry pancakes and they were so good. They're sourdough so they're not too sweet. My husband got the hashbrown bowl and he enjoyed it as well. The service was great. Our servers name was Emily and was extremely informative, quick with orders, we never had to ask for refills. We were there right before the dinner crowd so it didn't take us long to get our food. The servers name checked back with us several times to ensure we had everything we needed. We spent 25.00 for 2 adults and one toddler aged four years. Would definitely recommend this location if you're ever in Lexington and looking for a home style meal! Parking was easy. Nope, Never again, Food quality and quantity has crashed, This day in age, it's just not worth eating out at restaurants anymore, prices have gone up so much, for what it costs 3 people to dine out, you can go to the store and buy a full course meal for 3 to 5 days depending on what you get to cook, and the servers have gotten to where they demand tips, 25% to 35%, if you don't leave them enough, they either get violent or take to social media to shame you. I am not one to complain, but when I spend the money like cracker Barrell demands for small portions and the service is terrible, then I have to speak up. Went there this evening, sat down, finally a server came to our table, took our drink order and we were ok. However, it began....we waited for our drink order, then she took our food order...now we wait and wait and wait....finally get the food...it was a good 15 minutes later that we were asked if we wanted refills for the first time....finished our dinner....i told my wife and her friends to go into the store and look around and I would get the check. Server never came back, so after 15 minutes I went the the register and told the cashier, she was gonna have to sort this out because I don't have a check! She called a manager and she was able to figure my check. Now you would have thought she would have offered a discount or coupon for future visit, but she charged the full amount. Stopped in the early afternoon when driving thru the area. I always have loved Cracker Barrel for their shop and grilled chicken salad with honey mustard dressing. However this time I tried a chicken plate with two sides. Food was hot and very flavorful. It also was very inexpensive. The corn muffins weren't to my liking, seemed dried out and a bit hard. Not typically a big Cracker Barrel fan , it's always been a nice place to go visit the country store and get breakfast . The menu changed during Covid and never brought back some old time favorites . First time eating here for dinner in years . Service was good and friendly staff . We got fried pickles for an app which was really good and crispy . My wife got breakfast with no complaints . I was really in mood for fish and scene it happen to be fish Friday but was pretty reluctant but went ahead and got it anyways along with pintos and loaded mash potatoes. Also got a beer since the serve it now and been a long week at work . I would highly advise not doing so $5 for a canned beer is absolutely ridiculous . The white fish I will say was amazing crispy flakey no fishy taste or smell and probably the best place around here ten times better than the actual seafood restaurants. The pintos were good lot of flavor the loaded mash potatoes were cold and hard and left a lot to be desired and disappointed. Everything service was the worst the food wasn't much better. Asked about a refill on the coffee. 30 minutes later the manger asked and we said yes 30 minutes ago. 2 servers at 8am on a Saturday morning. More came in at 8:30. I arrived in the 7 pm hour on a Friday night - prime dining time. I put my name on the wait list at the Hostess Station and had a minimum wait to be seated. Ordered a sirloin steak with mac & cheese and the famous hash browns. The restaurant was busy, but I was impressed in watching the staff work well to keep things going. We had ordered online from the store, and it was delivered through door dash. When we got our food. They put the wrong pie in the bag, didn't call us to tell us they were out of something for a salad. when one of ladies called to ask about it. They person on the phone told her it wasn't there fault and they didn't have to replace it because we used door dash but we placed order online on the website. I went there for lunch today; Cracker Barrels usually have pretty consistent quality. But this one was disappointing for a couple of reasons. As soon as the host saw me walking towards the restaurant entrance, he was greeting me with a smile and grabbing menus. He sat me at a good table, and I noticed he was a pretty consistent presence in the dining area, cleaning tables, helping out when needed. Based on him alone, I was expecting a great visit. But it was a good 3-4 minutes before a waitress ever came to my table. When she did, I gave my drink and meal order, since I got the sense she wasn't out on the floor much. Sure enough, 5-7 minutes would go by before I'd see her again. She forgot to bring napkins, and when the food arrived, I asked her for napkins, but she forgot again. The only times she ever came to my table were 1. to take my order 2. to bring my food (the host brought me my drink), 3. to bring my bread (at which time I asked for napkins), 4. to ask me if there was anything else I needed as I was finishing up (at which time I asked for my check) and 5. to bring me my check. This, over the course of 30-40 minutes. She just never seemed to be out on the floor. I tipped her 15% exactly, which is the first time I've done that in who knows how long. I usually tip 20-25%. She wasn't unpleasant, she just wasn't a very good server. And the food was seriously overcooked. I ordered the lemon pepper fish, and while it was seasoned perfectly, it was so overdone and dry that all I really tasted was the seasoning. The corn was cooked perfectly, but it had no seasoning (I had to add butter, pepper & salt, and I very rarely have to add salt to my food). The corn bread was also overcooked and had the taste and consistency of sawdust. The macaroni and cheese, however, was perfect. I've bought a house in Lexington, but I just don't see going back to this Cracker Barrel. Lexington has phenomenal barbecue, and if I want Southern food, especially comfort food, I'll just drive to Winston or Greensboro. I don't have any desire to come back here. read more

Cracker Barrel is surprisingly consistent in their application and this one did a great job for my take out today. It took a little longer than she said (20 minutes!) but everything was perfect and packed properly. The restaurant is a good place to dine in. However, if you order takeout they will miss items every single time. Whatever you do, if you order takeout check your bag before leaving the parking lot because I guarantee you something in that bag is missing. We have talked to management numerous times about this and the issue is still ongoing. Cracker Barrel has always been pretty consistent with good food and customer service. This wait staff is always friendly and food arrives in a timely manner, even during peak times like breakfast or dinner. Those are usually the times when you might have to wait to be seated as well but they seem to do a great job of getting you in fairly quickly. You really can't go wrong with the pancakes. They're delicious. I really like the chicken and dumplings too. There are plenty of entree choices and an extensive list of side dishes. The hash brown casserole is my favorite. I always enjoy looking around the store front after I've eaten. They've always got nice, seasonal decor in cute displays at the front. I love that they carry Yankee Candles here as well. There's plenty of interesting items to check out while you shop including clothing, toys, collectibles, greeting cards, candy, and other food items. read more

With that being said, the chicken was over cooked, the homemade butter biscuits was white as snow. They cooked the pancakes with leftover grease. Still can't get the taste out of my mouth. We didn't complain as we would have had to see the server more often than we did. We came here for lunch today with a party of nine that included a 16yo, 14yo and 11mo twins wheeled in a double stroller. We weren't all quite ready, but the hostess was sweet as pie. The fact that we were weren't all together and ready to go didn't bother her at all even though the lunch crowd was starting to pick up. She escorted a third of us that were ready to the dining room where our table was set up with two high chairs. Our server took our drink orders promptly, then the rest of our party arrived. Our server was very patient with us and super friendly. Our meal came out quickly as well.
