They have a drive thru and dine in with lots of booths surrounding the perimeter of the inside and some tables in the center. They also have a small outdoor seating area. It's not covered though so it will be a seasonal option. The inside has a large counter that looks like it could be a bar area but it was empty and looked unfinished. We ordered at the counter where a friendly cashier helped us decide on what sauces to choose. Since it was our first time here we wanted to try a variety of items. I ordered three sliders and my husband got a tender combo. Our food came out really quickly and it was super hot. The fries were seasoned well too. No one likes unseasoned fries. One of the first things we noticed was how small the tenders were. I would have expected a larger tender for the price honestly. The flavor was delicious and we loved the different sauces they had. The spicy peach sauce was one of my favorites as well as the honey mustard. The pretzel bites we got as a side were ok. I'd probably skip them next time though. Overall we had a great experience at Ray Rays. I'd go there again for sure. Next time I'll have to try one of their sandwiches or bowls I think.

When she brought it, she brought it in takeout boxes already packaged in a to go bag and when I told her that we would be eating there, she said she knew that but that was the only way they could give us the food whether we were eating in or taking it out. Mama got the unsweetened tea and when she asked if there were any artificial sweetener options, the girl said that there were not. Our drinks were in To Go cups as well. My catfish was very small and oddly shaped. It was mostly cornmeal and there was very little fish. My collard greens were tasty but mostly stems and very salty. My fried okra was cold. The only thing that was good that we ate were the deviled eggs, but they were very small and had a lot of yolk/mayonnaise/mustard mixture in them. Mama had to use the bathroom and she said that it was in like a storage area. We were both very disappointed in paprikas as we were so excited when we heard that they were opening. We called several times after we thought they should be opened and the man told us that they were hoping to open last weekend. I usually like to give places at least a second chance, but I'm not too sure about this place. Maybe I will change my mind. There were only three other people in the restaurant and they were together. I think it's an excellent concept and I do pray they improve their food and service so that they will be successful.

I ordered through Doordash today since I am rarely on that side of town and my food was still warm when it arrived. I have been craving a beef patty and I had heard that they have the best mac n cheese in Winston Salem. I have been hesitant to order because a side of mac n cheese is very pricey. To my shock it was actually enough for 2 servings and worth the price tag. I have to admit it is definitely the best mac n cheese I have ever purchased, even over the well known soul food spots. The mac and cheese was very creamy and yet still had your favorite crispy edges. It was not overpowered with sour cream like so many places locally. The beef patty was nice and spicy and the crust was very flaky. It could stand to have a bit more filling though. I look forward to getting the jerk chicken again and eventually trying their oxtails.
