One of the best Cracker Barrel's I have ever been to! Their shop has theeeeee most adorable gifts/ clothes/ etc - super updated and cute. Their food is always great. Love that they have tons of vegetarian options including Impossible sausage! Honestly... I wanted to be amazed and love this place, but if you are vegetarian or into clean eating, this is not the place for you. Apparently this is what people from Tennessee eat... pretty gross IMO. I got some weird mediocre "Good Morning BF" of egg whites, cheese grits and fresh fruit (subbed out the meat) and weak coffee for $12. It was worth $4 maybe. Big maybe... for being so country, no real cream for the coffee... what? The bathroom was gross according to my friends, so I mentioned it to the waitress 10min before I headed in there... so it was okay, but still had the sticky floors. Checkout is in the store area... and there is a unofficial line... kinda annoying because the floor plan makes you stumble around like cattle in a poorly arranged tchotke (sp?) shop. I know it's a chain but their menu looks updated from other Cracker Barrels. I got the Hash Brown casserole and my mom got Grandpa's breakfast. Mine was hash covered in bacon, cheese and pico de Gallo with fried onions and over easy eggs. It was so delicious. My mother's fried chicken was not fried through and a little "weak" as she called it. She loved her biscuits but the gravy still tasted a bit like flour. The portions were large and reasonably priced. I love this Cracker Barrel because their cook never over salts their food like others I've been too. Cute shop like in all of the restaurants, I always get 5 sticks of hard candy for a dollar when I come since it reminds me of doing that since a young age. The absolute worst!!! When we arrived they quoted us a 35 minute wait for a table for a party of three, 70 minutes later we finally got seated...but that's just where the fun begins. We get the worst and slowest waitress on the planet, literally took her 10 minutes to check what soup they had. We waited another 10 minutes to come back and take our order after she delivered our drinks and she said" I'll be right back" then close to another 30 minutes from the time we ordered for the food to arrive...ended up taking us 2 hours and 20 minutes from the time we walked in until the time we left. It's reliable. You know what to expect from Cracker Barrel. The consistency from location to location is right up there with McDonalds. It is not a great place for the health conscious consumer, (nor vegans or gluten), so don't expect that! It can get crowded on weekends, but I never tire of browsing around the old country store if there is a wait. This location is a little hard to find, so turn on your gps, even if you know the area pretty well. read more

Above and beyond!!! My daughter left her purse at the restaurant on her way home from Indiana to Iowa. The staff and managers secured the purse and worked with us to mail it back to her in Iowa saving her an additional 4 hours of driving if she had to return and get it. My Hubby & I went to this location in Naperville this afternoon. We ate at many other Cracker Barrel's in IL & in other states. This is the first time we had horrible food & not such great service. We ordered a meat loaf lunch that comes with 1 side & corn muffins. Also a cup of beef noodle soup. The food was cold. Barely heated much at all. Even the corn muffins were cold. We could not get our waitress attention & she did not come around to ask how the food was etc. Finally Gerry had to sort of yell to get her attention. We told her the food was cold & needed to get heated up. She took it to do that. It was barely warm. Awful. We were also charged for a bowl of soup & just had a cup. So, The manager said he was sorry & only charged us $5. That was ok but he should have not charged at all. We could not eat hardly any of the food. We both look forward to eating at Cracker Barrel's but will not go to this location again. We expect our food to be heated up & hot. Also the stores are too tight. Love Cracker Barrels all around. This one was very nicely done (aren't they all), although it seemed darker then usual and it was a sunny day. They way you can shop before you eat is ingenious and almost all the time I am buying nostalgic candy just because it takes me to a time when things were done so inexpensively. Except the prices don't reflect what was back then. I had the Chicken which already had dumplings in it. . And as a side i also ordered dumplings, but I really do think that the waitress should of said "Oh you already have dumplings", than I wouldn't have ordered another round. Their raspberry sweet iced tea was yuchhh. I really never send things back but this time I said, "No, I wanted sweet and it isn't". So I sent it back and that was that. The raspberry iced lemonade was really nice though, and the waitress didn't charge me extra for it. I think that Cracker Barrel is an experience that most need to try once in a while. Terribly Disappointed.....First time visiting Cracker Barrel in Naperville, IL in over a year. Today which is Friday, October 27, 2023 me and hubby were looking forward to enjoying the Cracker Barrel breakfast especially the pancakes. We had a new waiter (Janby) who I think was overwhelmed and I think she forgot about our order. After waiting 20 minutes for our food; I asked her about our order. 10 minutes later she brought our food out and both breakfast meals were not warm to the touch; we could tell that our food had been sitting up. The pancakes were sitting up for so long that the butter wouldn't melt/spread on them and there was some black things in the eggs. I asked Janby if she would get the manager; she said she would. A few minutes later Janby came back and asked what was wrong; I told her we didn't want the meals since the pancakes were cold and there was something in the eggs. Janby walked away and immediately came back and stated that the bill was cancelled as she took the plates off the table. The manager never came to the table. read more

This was my first (and probably last) time at a Cracker Barrel. The highlight of our meal was our server, Staci. She was very attentive and helpful. The sirloin steak was a great value for the price. The hashbrown casserole was very good, reminds me of the potato casserole that my best friend's mom would make. The chocolate cake was served warm, which I enjoyed, but the ice cream was pretty watery. The chicken pot pie had some sort of seasoning that I did not like, and while the crust looks pretty, wasn't the buttery, flaky crust I was hoping for. read more

I tend to be underwhelmed whenever I visit a Cracker Barrel, but I have to hit it at least once a year for the eggs in the basket with the hash brown casserole. Joanne B is a fantastic server and you should ask for her. One of my eggs was over hard and the bacon was still moving, and needed to be cooked some more. It was ironic, as after I ordered, two other tables were seated near me and everyone ordered the same thing as me. I would definitely give my server five stars. She apologized and actually took my coffee off the bill for the poor performance out of the kitchen. I asked if there was new cooks and she said, "... no the veterans just aren't awake yet." I'll certainly make a point to come back sometime and visit Joanne and give the kitchen another chance. read more
