Came here on a Sunday afternoon at about noon for some late breakfast. The wait was about 20 minutes but with all the fun games, the store, and great outdoor sitting area time flew by. I have never been to a Cracker Barrel before and did not expect my breakfast to be as delicious as it was. My eggs and bacon were cooked perfectly, and the fried apples are so good. Normally I really like breakfast here. Not today. Server dropped off my coffee with no cream, took so long to bring it that the coffee was cold by then. Server brought my food, didn't ask if I needed anything when I wanted tobasco for my eggs and country fried steak and apple butter for my biscuit. Normally I would give this place 5 stars as my family and I have been going here for years. But on our most recent visit this evening we received some very poor service. We placed our order and the restaurant was not super busy, after about 30-35 minutes our waitress came and said the rib eye steak had been done but they couldn't make the two orders of chicken and dumplings because they were out...so we had to reorder food...meanwhile the ribeye steak just sat in the window and got over cooked while they made the new order...the waitress brings all the food to the table then informs us they were out Mac and cheese for one of the sides....after telling the table behind us this exact thing 5 minutes before...so we again had to grab a menu and order something else. Not to mention we had to ask for a refill on our cokes 3 times before she finally brought them to our table...either this waitress doesn't care to inform her tables right away when something is 86'd or there is some kind of communication problem in the kitchen. As someone that works in the kitchen of a restaurant and has for several years. This should never happen, there should be fluid communication between the back and front of houses. There's no reason a table should be waiting over 30 minutes before they are told a restaurant is out of a product they should be told when ordering! I chose this Cracker Barrel because my work group uses this location for all of our big events, like Christmas Parties and Birthdays. Today they went above and beyond to accommodate our 20+ group. I let them know 24 hours ahead of time we would be coming so they could prepare. They let us bring a cake and provided plates and forks so we could eat it. They also provided two waitresses to help with our large group. I was tremendously pleased with their service. I can't say enough nice things about this location and how they were so helpful and understanding with our big party. Cracker Barrel is probably about the same nationwide...only visited a few. They are consistently good for low price breakfast. We visit this one for late-night light eats We dance every Sunday night at West Coast Swing Dance club and this CB is on our way home. (better to eat after lots of dancing, instead of before) Location is visible from I-17, however, not simple access, therefore, google map or phone for easy turns to take. Turkey bacon is WONDERFUL! Blueberry pancakes good with fresh berries. Biscuits fresh home made! Rob the night manager is very helpful and kind. Such a nice man! Rob is African American and well deserving of management position for the long term! I am quite shocked to see one reviewers' claim of bigotry! We have seen Hispanic and African employees AND customers. The atmosphere seems very accommodating for ALL! Servers are friendly and helpful. The ladies in the gift shop are all very sweet. I purchased some great gifts for friends in this store! They very much liked the products I gifted! There is so much to see...it will take time to peruse it all! If you haven't tried Cracker Barrel...give then a try. It's basic home style comfort food, but good for the value. read more

The customer service here is terrible, I've ordered to go here before I went in at the time they said it'd be ready ended up waiting almost an hour to get a my food I had to ask 2 people when it would be my husband and I ended up literally standing outside the kitchen waiting for the food, after that incident I thought I'd give this place another chance worst mistake ever ! My waitress was beyond rude and gave me attitude then she disappeared for 20 minutes I tried asking 4 different waitresses what was taking my order so long to come out I have 2 toddlers waiting ,all 4 of them walked right passed me by the time the waitress appeared she served everyonewho got here after us first then ours on top of that my son ( who Is 1 ) accidentally dropped something while she was serving our food and she gave my son the dirtiest look and gave me more attitude for that she only checked on us twice the whole time we spent there this is absolute ridiculous I hope no one ever has to deal with this ! I can't comprehend why anyone would like this place. Yes the waitstaff was friendly and attentive but the food was absolutely DISGUSTING. The chicken fried steak was tough, dry, and bland (and not even real steak, hamburger I think...) How can you screw up FRIED STEAK?? It seemed like it had been fried some time last decade, freezer burned, and then microwaved before serving. The fried okra was the same: somehow they managed to make okra tough, bland, and chewy (again fried back in 2010, deep freeze freezer burned, and then microwaved?) The turnip greens were no better: overcooked but at the same time tough and stringy. I'm pretty sure they came out of a can. You would have to go out of your way to make food this disgusting. I came here to have breakfast for thanksgiving with my family today . We had a good great experience up until we were leaving we were inside the little gift shop area ;my daughter is 3 years old and got scared and started to cry and the hostess by the front door an older woman with dyed red hair taking customer siting with her tablet had the audacity to shush my daughter multiple times and told her to be quite in a very rude and obnoxious way just because she was crying , the hostess continue to help the costumer like nothing happened . This honestly got my very upset and my family feel very uncomfortable at that fact she thought it was okay to address a child with such disgusting manner; I confront the women about how she was in the wrong and to never address my child in a rude manner again she interrupted me and told me "what ever I did I'm sorry!! okay bye !!"in a rude tone. The manager ended up coming forward to help defuse the situation and escorted my family out of the restaurant to talk to us , the manager apologized on her behalf and said she was going to have talk to her but I'm still upset at The fact the hostess was so rude to my child and to my family she had no right to say anything to my child when she was clearly upset and having a small melt down , you just don't do that to anyone's child. I love coming here but after that I may not be coming back to this location ,the hostess needs an attitude adjustment and clearly has no customer service . it just rude our overall experience today. read more

One of my favorite breakfast places and best place for stocking stuffers for the kids. I have never been here for dinner but breakfast rocks! I usually order the bacon and eggs which has some uncle, grandpa, or distant cousin in the name...yeah who cares the grub is good. The bacon always comes out perfectly crisp with no soggy fat on it, the eggs always perfect as ordered, the hash brown casserole is a mixture of cheese and potato that is so perfect I am pretty sure they made a pact with the devil. I love the fresh squeezed OJ (has a little pulp cause its REAL), the coffee is always great, my wife loves the pancakes. The service is always quick but I wish they had call ahead seating like Mimi's because this place gets so busy but even still there is never more than a 15 minutes wait (haven't been there on a holiday). I have no idea where to start on this review. How about the wait time? I think so. So we walk up in front we see a lot of people waiting which is reasonable knowing it's Sunday morning. I tell the girl I need a table for 7 and she said about 35 minutes or any time before that. That's not a bad wait time to be honest so we sat down and waited. I wanted some coffee so I got into the car and went and got coffee and came back and my friends were still sitting outside waiting at this time it's been about 45 minutes so I go up and ask her how much longer and she say 5 minutes. Another 15 minutes passed by before they call our name so over an hour of waiting time... Table and terrible you're so close to other people's table there no sense of privacy and you can hear everyone's conversations. How about they make the gift store place smaller and give more room for the restaurant itself. I ordered some meat thing and asked for only bacon and scrambled eggs. It was good for like an appetizer. I ate it in like 2 minutes all of it. Kinda sucked. The corn bread is gross. n 12/18/2019 I invited my daughter to a Birthday luncheon at Crackle Barrel Phoenix AZ since it was her Birthday. The service from the time I entered the premises was very unfriendly but we did get a table by the fireplace as requested. My daughter came about 15 minutes and we were given the wrong menu since I indicated a Breakfast menu. I ordered the SW Specialty Scramble and my daughter order the Parfait Brkfst. Our waitress was Norma Connor and she was horrible. My daughters breakfast was not as described and when asked if she could order another selection the waitress gave her look like " you serious? Her eggs were hard and cold, patty was burnt. I asked for butter for the buns 3xs and more salsa please at least twice. The waitress never checked on us if everything was okay. Just ran passed us non-stop. What a horrible Experience for a Birthday and we will never go back to Cracker Barrel in Phoenix AZ again. In fact. no one even smiled the whole time were in that place. This review was a long time coming I was there a while ago and just never got around to reviewing it. Meal was not good at all. I ordered a Chicken Caesar salad. They brought out a weird concoction that didn't resemble or have the ingredients of a Caesar salad as a matter fact it was a different salad that was on the menu. So she takes it back and I have to wait and wait for my chicken Caesar salad. So she eventually comes out and says all apologetic I'm so sorry blah blah blah here's your Caesar salad. Something is not right, lettuce is supposed to be romain, this was clearly not romain. I thought well we've been waiting so long I'm gonna eat it anyway. Couldn't accomplish it because what they substituted was Kale. That's right raw kale. I managed like three bites, which by the way took forever because if you've ever eaten raw kale you know what I mean. At that point I did not want to have to wait any longer so we just left. I didn't want to be complaining customer so I didn't say anything. I should have because that is just plain stupidity what they did. If you don't know the difference between kale and lettuce you shouldn't be working as a cook or chef in a restaurant. Well, I've heard a lot about Cracker Barrel, but to be honest I wasn't that impressed. The prices are reasonable- plates start at about 9 dollars for a plate. I ordered lemon peppered trout and it was tasty, but I was unimpressed with the sides. The potatoes were rather bland, the Mac n cheese was watery, and the cornbread was dry as a bone. My other complaint (and perhaps I'm weird for this) but I'm one of those people who doesn't like their food items touching each other on the plate. I mean, if they touch each other, that's fine. But my fish was half covered with gravy and half covered with cheese sauce. My plate just looked sloppily thrown together when it was brought to me. The service was good though, no complaints there. Such a pathetic excuse for one of my favorite restaurants ever. The Cracker Barrel near 27th ave and deer valley has horrible management and even worse servers. Jamee took over ten minutes just to greet us then it took another 10 minutes just to get our drinks. Another 5 minutes just to get straws. On top of it all the emailed gift card I got for my birthday was on my phone. It had a bar code and even a card number on it. But according to the manager (if you want to call him that) gave me a worthless excuse that "they aren't supposed to take it unless it was printed." He didn't care about having any form of customer service and even acted like I had ruined his day for even asking about not having it printed. He probably can't even spell customer service let alone define and portray it. I didn't get his name unfortunately but he was a heavy set older gentleman with grayish hair glasses. Our server Brian came to our table a little late and I think another server tried to swoop his table haha. He sort of talked over my boyfriend and I and focused on bigger parties that he had. This was our first visit to this particular Cracker Barrel and will be our last. Once we finally got our table and ordered, we observed several tables arrive after us and receive their food before us. Once we did receive our food, plenty of things were missing including my daughters entire meal. Waiter seemed kind but flighty and unorganized. Husband never got his hash browns, water, or bacon. I ordered a side of hash brown casserole with my meal. The bacon on top was new, never came this way before and after I almost broke my tooth on it, I wish it never did. Also had a ton of onions in it so it should have been called an onion casserole not hash brown casserole. My meal was the new egg battered biscuit slathered in raspberry jelly. It only took two bites to realize it needed the jelly to give it any flavor at all. I think I received my husbands eggs as mine had cheese and his did not. Two bites of that was all I needed to discover that it wasn't my cup of tea either. Speaking of tea, that and my bacon was the only part of my meal that I enjoyed. Because we didn't receive the items we ordered, and asked for repeatedly, we chose not to tip. That was the first time in 30 years that's happened.
