I love Cracker Barrel but this location sucked. The staff was not friendly at all, they forgot part of my order and when I went to retrieve the missing items they had a stink attitude. The food was subpar and it took an hour to get a to-go order. The Ham was decent, the coleslaw was definitely skimpy, the fried pickles were good but salty and their ranch is veryyy salty as well. The Chicken Salad was enjoyable though. The gift shop had some really cool stuff but other than that I'd go to a different location if anything because Cracker Barrel is always a decent place for food when your on the interstate and not looking to spend a lot just not this one.

we had to wait 15 minutes for a seat, 15 minutes before the waitress even came over then an hour for our food that was not fit to eat. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The food was cold[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The eggs looked like soup[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and the coffee that they brought me was cold. I sent it back. It came back just as cold, [[HIGHLIGHT]]poor service nasty food won't be back[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]].

Saturday lunch at the Rocky Mount Cracker Barrel. Moderate wait time to be seated. I did like that they offered a text notification to let you know when you could be seated. I am guessing this business is like most others dealing with staff shortages as it took a longer than normal time after we were seated before the server came to the table. My meal was the maple bacon grilled chicken. Great flavor and ample portion. Server was pleasant while being busy, and that was appreciated.

This is your typical independent roadside joint that was popular back in the 1950's but have now managed to die out in most parts of the country. There is ample parking out front, and the area you order from (pictured) is inside a set of double doors. There are places to sit, including a cool old school rocking chair, while you wait for your food to come out. All items are made to order here, so you will have to wait a bit but it is worth the wait. For breakfast my favorite is the wagon train sandwich. This is double bacon, fried egg, and pimento spread on a Kaiser roll. Killer flavor combo and be sure to get a side order of hash browns extra crispy to go along with it. The homemade biscuits here are similarly a must try. This place closes at 2 each day, so keep this in mind if you are after some lunch. The Big Ben burger is essentially a homemade bacon double cheese burger topped with their house made chili. Yum. It's a winner. They also have daily specials which you will find on a dry erase board inside where you order. This is mainly a take out joint, but they have an outdoor picnic area which makes for a great place to post up on nice days. Staff is super friendly and prices are cheap. I am sure I will be back next time I am in town.

It's unassuming...and absolutely packed at weekday lunch for good reason. Even with a full house, we were seated quickly, and the service was outstanding. I never caught our server's name, but she was wonderful. Everyone here treats customers like neighbors instead of table numbers. We even watched servers pull up a chair to chat with regulars about what to order. That's not slow service--that's small-town hospitality at its finest. My husband ordered a burger and fries, and let me tell you--that burger came stacked, fresh, and delicious. I had the house-made pimento cheese sandwich with onion rings. The pimento cheese wasn't quite my preferred style, but it was still tasty. The fries and onion rings were standard, but they did the job. A word of warning: if you ask for "everything" on your burger, be prepared for the kitchen to interpret that very creatively. Chili? Sure. Whatever else they can find? Quite possibly. Consider yourself warned! One thing I'd love to see improved is pricing. The menu and hot bar don't list prices, so you're ordering with a little faith. Also, the sweet tea lives up to its Southern reputation--it is sweet. Thankfully, you can mix it with unsweet tea if your dentist would prefer you did. We didn't try the hot bar, but watching plates of meat-and-two sides come out made me second-guess my order. And don't even get me started on the desserts. The cobbler and banana pudding looked downright sinful. If you're looking for fancy, keep driving. If you're looking for genuine Southern hospitality, hearty home cooking, and a dining room where strangers chat while waiting in line, you've found your spot.

My aunt and cousin joined in on the fun, and it was my cousin's first time as well. Some in our party got the meatloaf, and exclaimed over how delicious it was. I got the parm chicken with rice, which was a little dried out and disappointing. Enter Yoder's cabbage and Dutch potato sides to save the day! Both were absolutely delicious! The cabbage was perfectly cooked and well-seasoned. I was delighted to find they were spicy, with visible red pepper flakes. The Dutch potatoes were creamy and cheesy...a new fave! The roll with the cinnamon butter was a treat indeed. And the tea? We like ours half & half...delivered in big cups with extra ice just the way we like it! I also got an English Toffee Latte to go...and it did not disappoint. Neither did the waitstaff, who were friendly, engaging and ensured our food was delivered with a smile. We left with slices of chocolate, coconut cream, and pecan caramel pie, a loaf of sourdough, and a mocha brownie treat for later. Ohhhh, and a ginormous cinnamon roll, cause why not?! The interior of Yoder's restaurant is a rustic place with a lovely shop to wander through while you wait to be seated. They have a lovely bird in the store that will sing you a song and tell you what the cat and the rooster say. So charming! After arriving a few minutes early we were told it would be "a bit" before they could seat us. "A bit" turned out to be more than an hour and even then they sat us at multiple tables throughout the restaurant. After being seated, we were promptly ignored. Fifteen more minutes went by before our sullen, unpleasant server took our drink orders and eventually our breakfast orders. She was not only extremely slow and inattentive, but blatantly disrespectful to one member of our party by rolling her eyes and making gestures when she thought we couldn't see her. Once our order was placed, we waited then waited more. We had decided to leave if our food had not arrived by 12pm and go to Bojangles in Vanceboro, but at 11:50, over three hours after arriving, our food finally showed up. My omelet was enormous and overflowing with ground sausage. It was OK, but would have been better with less sausage. My shredded hash browns were cold. The biscuit that accompanied the omelet was cold and hard. My dining companion liked her french toast, but noted her eggs, though properly prepared over medium, were cold. Same goes for her home fries. However, the buttery syrup, served with her french toast, was served warm and was absolutely amazing. Wow! It made my biscuit edible and was the best part of our meals. The restaurant is attached to a hardware store in a rural part of Craven County. It definitely has a country vibe and was spotless. Incredibly slow and disrespectful service combined with OK-at-best food make it difficult to recommend Voder's Dutch Pantry in any capacity to anyone.

We ordered the trifecta (waffle, eggs, bacon), kids pancake (cc pancake, sausage, fruit, OJ), kids eggs and sausage and an extra side of fruit. It was delivered quick and everything (aside from that 1 sausage that looks slightly overcooked) was fresh and hot!! I'll start with the positive- that OJ was so fresh, I wish I had known how good it was going to be because I would've ordered 3 more!! The bacon was cooked perfectly, the pancake was huge, cooked well and had a great pancake/ choc chip ratio, the eggs were still soft and the waffle was soft and very tasty! Whatever the berry compote was that came with the waffle, was amazing!!! Seriously, so good. The downside- I can't review the fruit at all... because it was completely missing. The fruit side with the kids meal and the full extra fruit side i ordered were both absent. A bummer as our kids do love their fruit, but DoorDash made it right which I appreciate. Can't speak to service or atmosphere of the restaurant itself since we didn't dine in. Overall, this place was great, and we will 100% be eating it again! Knocking 1 star off just since the fruit to the kids meal and the extra side of it was missing, but I'll update my review next time we eat!
