My brother showed me a Delish YouTube video where a women tried 50 dishes from the Cracker Barrel (CB) menu to celebrate their 50th anniversary. It looked so good. I've always passed by CB on road trips. So, we decided to check them out. It's got great value for the food you get. From customer service (our waitress, Jessica, was awesome!) down to the food, we all enjoyed ourselves. You will not leave hungry, unless you really tried not to eat your food. Hands down, their sides were amazing. Favorites were their cornbread, mac and cheese, and loaded hash brown casserole. The cornbread was fragrant, salty, and crispy on some corners. The mac and cheese was creamy, salty, and fragrant as well. Other spots, like Toasted Yolk, do serve the hash brown casserole. But, I think that CB's loaded hash brown casserole has them beat. Their entrees were pretty good. Of all the items we ordered, the southwest scramble tasted the best. The other dishes were good, but were just lacking a bit of seasoning. We were able to add salt and pepper to these, and that brought out the flavor a bit. Even their newest entree creation, the Southern Fried Chicken, needed more seasoning. Popeyes chicken is better, unfortunately. Their coffee drinks were strong enough. The regular coffee comes with unlimited refills. Yay! The buttercrunch caramel latte was pretty tasty and tasted like fall. My bro and sis said it tasted better than Starbucks. Overall, CB has a great southern hospitality charm to it with its store and its restaurant connected to it. Our waitress was helpful and friendly. This place served comforting, rustic, diner food, which I love. We will definitely be back again to try out their other menu items. read more

Well after a long morning at the Dr's office for some test. I took my wife to what use to be a favorite breakfast place for us, but not anymore! Cracker Barrel in Rosenberg has gone down hill and as busy as the were, why? Tuesday at 12:30 in the afternoon was busy with a 15 to 20 minute wait! After finally getting seated he both ordered coffee and I also got orange juice. Well the orange juice was the best part of the meal! The coffee was weak with little to know taste. We ordered our late breakfast early lunch. I got the country steak breakfast with hash brown casserole, 2 eggs over medium and sourdough toast. My wife got the Grandma's breakfast with scrambled eggs, extra crispy bacon, hash brown casserole and blue berry pancakes. My eggs over medium were to say the least warm, sour dough toast was also barely warm. Hash brown casserole was just a little warm too and my country steak was a patty from a frozen meat package that was warm until you put the white cream gravy on it to warm it up! My wife's blue berry pancakes were crispy not fluffy, with little to no taste. Bacon was extra crispy and more like jerky. Her hash brown casserole was only warm too! Scrambled eggs were closer to Luke warm at best. All in all it filled our hungry stomach, but won't be coming back anytime soon! Cracker Barrel you need to get you act together and return to the good old days when you served great food! Went to cracker barrel with my boyfriend and dad. My boyfriend orders the grandmas sampler (w pancakes) and country ham and I get the cowboys breakfast with country ham... and when it comes out everything's good until i realize my ham is unbelievably salty. I had my boyfriend and dad both try it and they agreed it was unbelievably salty to the point it was inedible. I asked one of the staff members if it was normal and all they said was "no sorry". Good morning is the day before Thanksgiving and my sister and myself are at Cracker Barrel in Rosenberg Texas. I ordered eggs and bacon and a biscuit with that came some grits, the bacon is crisps like I like it the eggs are mediocre, and the grits are watering. They actually need to hire somebody that knows how to fix grits. The biscuits are good so is my milk, strong bones you know but these grits are awful and so I'm writing this breakfast a three star. Don't normally eat this late but we had something to do at the house. Arrived at this Cracker Barrel with specific taste buds. The food was delicious. My order of pecan pancakes was only going to be one eaten but was so good, I decided to eat two and had to drop the fork to keep from eating three. Yum yum. Found out from our waiter David that there was indeed a new chef in the kitchen. The rainbow trout looked delicious and in fact was according to my partner. The turkey sausage and turnip greens were good. They were out of Elderberry tea but David recommended Peach Tea, which was a good choice so I took one home with me. The peach cobbler with ice cream was the dessert taken home (they were out of blackberry) but because the ice cream was put directly on top of the pie, it turned out to be "peaches and cream" with no crust. All in all, the late dinner at this Cracker Barrel was a wise choice and the food was delicious and the service was superb. This is the second time eating here recently but the food this time was even better overall. read more

Horrible service again today. I placed an order online at 8:39am. The email stated they would bring my food out curbside at 9:04. It is now 9:21. I called them even though I checked in twice online saying I had arrived. Still nothing. I am trying to give them another try but at this point, I don't think their service will correct itself. The first time I came to this location to eat (after hitting up the cute shop and decor) service was great. Friday night, I ordered meat loaf with baked apples and fried okra. my daughter had the mac & cheese and fries plus ice cream sundae. The second time we came, also a Friday, the hostess was sweet but after being seated, no waiter came by and after 10-15 min of waiting, my toddler got restless so we stood up and left. An older couple sitting next to us saw and stopped me to say bless my heart and be patient with my daughter. Lol The sad thing was we sat right in front of the kitchen that 2nd Friday night and not one member of the waitstaff greeted us nor took our order. TERRIBLE service. I came in on Veteran's day to be greeted with a nasty attitude after I asked about the free slice of chocolate cake. What is up with the low ratings? I just moved to the area and couldn't be more excited about having Cracker Barrel nearby. We visited on Sunday morning and it was busy but no wait. The servers were attentive and food came out hot and amazing. We had the typical breakfast fare and a breakfast bowl. Everyone was happy with the food. I had the most delicious pancakes that was crispy on the edges. So good. Small warm bottles of maple syrup came with it. I want to come back just for that. Went with a friend of mine and ordered the chicken and dumplings. That is what I recieved. It wasn't even edible, and was obviously expired and slimy. Not only that, but our service was terrible. I never leave comments but today, I feel as though I have to. I was in the restaurant for over 30 minutes and was never even acknowledged. The tables around me all received drinks, biscuits and had their orders taken. I was completely overlooked. Greeted as I entered the door and granted I was on the phone for business call the young ladies at the door and the host station were very polite and attentive. Silver ware have water stains and should be looked at before putting into bags and putting on table, floor could use a sweep and some area needing a mop. Granted the place was crazy busy, management should really prioritize cleanliness. Honestly my 3 stars are specifically for Skylar who was working really hard and yet keep a wonderful smile with every interaction she was having with all the customers. Even after the tray tilted over and a plate fell, she kept her composure and keep moving along. Really happy the customers didn't over react either. Really hope management here sees the hard work this young lady was doing today. Please train and mentor the cooks in the back to stop rushing and over cooking food. This is the worst Cracker Barrel I have ever been to. Ordered the fried fish and it was one fillet of fish that was missing half its body. It was so small I had to order extra food. They charged me for the fried fish with 3 sides when I only wanted two sides. I didn't notice until after I already paid for it. Plus, everyone around us got a bread basket and after almost finishing our food I noticed it and had to ask the waitress if we could get some bread. She asked if I wanted the biscuit or the corn muffin and I asked which was better- she said the biscuit so I said ok to the biscuit. In hindsight the waitress could've given us both. Food is what you would expect from any Cracker Barrel. It's pretty consistent. I ordered a Country Boy with Sirloin cooked medium. This usually doesn't go well and the Sirloin will come out overcooked and involves the whole back and forth. But this is the first time in cracker barrel history they did it right! I almost fell off my chair that I didn't have to send it back! To top that off, we had the sweetest waitress in all of the Cracker Barrels we had gone to, named Camila. (And we have been to a lot! All up and down east coast and the south) She was always attentive, kind, polite, always with a nice smile and very professional. Please give her a raise!! =) Awesome service, consistent food, nothing bad to complain about this visit. read more

The sausage, pre-cooked and overcooked, the same for the ham, the bacon, and the pankcakes. I might bet fifty-cents that broken yolk eggs are cooked as over hard and put off to the side. They were that dried out. Cause overcooked is overcooked, but just a dry egg, that's weird. I had to use the knife to cut them, the fork wouldn't do it. Despite being informed about the situation, the manager could care less and only removed the price of two iced teas off the tab instead of the actual meal which was completely inedible. Food was good but it took forever to get our food. We went on a Wednesday evening. It was all new people.. All kids from high school or college working that night.. We got the waiting list at home just in case. It was busy when we got there. When we got there it was slow night that many people so we got our table.. It took forever to the bread and our drinks. Then it took 30 mins for them to bring our food.. And usually when we go we have everything in minutes.. Even when its busy. We are a family of 4 and this time we had my husband grandmother with us.. And she was saying it never takes them this long to cook the food.. We understand we are at a restaurant but we have come here several times. But we will keep coming cuz of good food. Much to my chagrin, I got one normal sized biscuit and one barely the size of a silver dollar that was hard as a hockey puck. That tiny thing should never have been served! I was offered some extra "bread" on my next visit but the "assumed" manager didn't even say goodbye he just put the phone aside and started talking to a staff person about something else. If I could give a ZERO, I would! Please save your money and go somewhere else! The food and service were awful and unacceptable. I met a friend for lunch and we decided Cracker Barrel would be a nice place to eat and chat. It started out by being seated at a dirty table. It had been cleared and wiped but it was still greasy and had bits of food stuffs on it. I requested the table be cleaned off before we ordered and the waitress took an attitude. She even wiped her hand across the table as if she didn't believe me. Next, she took our order. The sweet tea had added sugar, as it had accumulated on the bottom of the glass...it was undrinkable and after a request, she never brought another glass or refilled with unsweetened tea and never offered. When my food was served it was almost thrown at me ....like the green beans flew off the plate and onto the table. She never apologized or attempted to clean it. She only said "I will go get you another order of green beans". The entire meal was a bit to the salty side. When dinner was done, we ordered a Buttermilk pie to split and had an order to-go. The pie was unedible...it was very cold and hard, as in overcooked and probably had been frozen. The to-go order was bad, too. I ordered the rainbow trout. I ordered extra tarter sauce and none was in the package. The fish was not very well seasoned and the sickest fillet I have ever seen. 2 super small and super thin (milanesa thin). Photos don't lie! Service can be spotty. Sometimes GREAT, sometimes you get a server who just doesn't seem to care. Korl (I think I spelled her name right, maybe Koral?) is wonderful. She was handling everything so well and worked great, even when she got double or triple sat at once it looked like. She's the reason this place gets an extra star. We've had her more than once, and she's been exceptional. When you go in, you'll find the storefront portion is very clean and well maintained. They usually have more than one person checking out the customers up front, but I've been there when they only had one and there was a long line waiting during peak hours. Food is usual Cracker Barrel food, never takes too long to get out if you have a quality server who remembers to grab your order. Breakfast and lunch are both very good. read more

The food was great and reasonably priced. Service was terrible - we got one cup of coffee when we placed our order but nobody was even around to refill when the food arrived. Nobody checked to refill until we finished and they started clearing when another server asked if we wanted coffee to go - a little late; we said no, we wanted coffee to close out our meal because nobody provided coffee with our meal!! After they cleared the table she arrived with coffee that was Luke warm- basically we paid more than $7 for 2 "cups" of coffee-and none with our meal. There is no excuse for such poor, inattentive service! Whoever manages the floor needs to either hire or teach servers how to do their job. Tip I left was because I assume they tip share and those that delivered the food and bussed the tables deserve it but not our "waiter" !!! read more
