Went to the Sugarland location today. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We arrived just as they were opening so it was cleaned and inviting inside. I got the Black Angus Club. The Horseradish Sauce is great on this. Mac n Cheese as the side dish and their famous Sweet Tea and I was in my happy place. Great location here in Sugarland. I came to this McAlister's Deli location with my husband and mother-in-law today for dinner for the first time after having been to other locations previously. This location was well-taken care of. The tables and floor were cleaner than I'd expect from a fast-casual place. It's a relatively large location, easily double the size of the one near my house. The service was good. It was empty when we went, and our food came out within a few minutes of us sitting down. The staff were polite and responsive when we requested something from them. My MIL ordered a choose two with broccoli cheddar soup with the BLT+A. I also ordered a choose two with their Savannah Chopped salad and a garden fresh turkey sandwich. My husband ordered their 12" French Dip sandwich. Overall, the food was a mixed bag compared to other locations. The bacon on the BLT+A was overcooked to the point where it was dry and hard rather than crispy or crunchy--to the point where it hurt my teeth when my MIL gave me a piece of bacon. My half garden fresh turkey sandwich was also unusually small, even for the choose two portion size, and the filling to bread ratio was less than desirable. My husband's French Dip sandwich, however, was jam-packed with meat, to the point where it was falling out of the sides. While the food was in an acceptable range for McAlister's Deli, it was still a bit lacking comparatively. read more

McAlister's used to be our go-to for a quick lunch or a light dinner. Lately it's been hit or miss at this location regarding quality. But today was probably the last time we'll visit this location. We went in for lunch. My husband and I both got the Choose Two - I got the 1/2 Club with potato soup and he got the 1/2 Club with tomato soup. There is no way that our sandwiches were 1/2 sized. Maybe 1/3 if we're being generous. It seriously took me just six bites to finish the entire (1/2) sandwich. There was one skimpy piece of bacon and the amount of meat was far less than what I normally have received on their club. I couldn't even eat the potato soup, it was so bad. The soup was watery and the potato chunks were rubbery and tasteless. I took it back and to their credit, they allowed me to swap it for a tomato soup which I still didn't like, but my husband did. I will say that the peach tea was good as always. This is disappointing for us, as we have always liked McAlister's but for us to pay for two meals and then still be hungry is just not ok. read more

I ordered nachos, and they were delicious. A young man served me and explained the ingredients in case I had any allergies. Afterward, I ordered tea, and it was just as delicious. I was surprised by how clean the place was. I hadn't had a pleasant experience there months ago, but I decided to give it a second chance, and it was truly worth it. I don't remember the young man's name, but he has curly hair, and I think he is Hispanic and it was clear he had a lot of experience in customer service. Was in the area and saw McAlister's...the remember why The Wodlands one closed. The French Dip half size and a fruit cup and drink was insanely high. The sandwich have to taste at all, no seasoning at all. The fresh cup, however was very fresh. They have Diet Dr. Pepper moved them up a star. The line is always long and slow, despite having 2-3 people working registers. The last time I visited, it took 15 minutes in line and there were only 4 orders ahead of me. There's no phone service in their restaurant and although patrons complain or ask about it every time I visit, nothing has been done to remedy it (no accessible wifi). It acts to discourage people from eating in. With that said, the spuds are delicious. I'm vegetarian and there aren't many menu options (sadly), but this is good one. This is a great spot for an easy, but satisfying lunch. I've been here on three occasions, and I can say I enjoyed their McAllister and King club sandwiches the most. They're flavorful, with lots of meat and veggies. I really liked their potato salad side as well. It's creamy with a lovely tang to it. I always order it with my sandwich. I've been to several McCallister location, but the location in Stafford, TX is horrible. The service is horrendous. No one does curbside. I've always had to get out my vehicle to pick up my food when it's CURBSIDE! There has been a couple times where my food was missing or they "can't find it" & when I went to ask about it the responses I would get is "well I don't know what to tell you" or "I don't know" or "what do you want me to do about it". Like seriously !? And this has happen more than once. I am fed up with the service & will no longer be buying from this location anymore. The staff is horrible, & the atmosphere is horrendous. I've ask for refund back into my account, but I have yet to receive anything, so I will no longer be purchasing from this location anymore. read more

McAlister's is just as good as I remember it! I would eat at this place in San Antonio going to HS, so I was excited when Sugar Land got one! My go to: orange cranberry club! Love the portion of meat they give, orange cranberry sauce -sweet and just thick enough, and how the sandwich is easy to eat when they cut it in to fourths! My only thing I would say is: may want to ask them to go light on the mayo. I see a little bit squeezing out and that's too much for me! The husband ordered the southwest turkey melt! Yum! Nice and warm with cheese and bacon all melted together. How can you go wrong? It's definitely a more comforting sandwich. The husband was thoroughly impressed with his second time (ever!) to eat at a mcalisters! Also get the lemonade tea!
