I've not eaten at this restaurant recently, but my previous experience was good enough that I'm willing to recommend it. When I did finally go back I asked at the front if they still served their crawfish boil with potatoes and corn and the answer was they were out of crawfish. I left and haven't been back since. This place was pretty descent for seafood boils. It was smaller in size but had enough tables/booths to sit down comfortably. I was greeted and seated as soon as I walked in and allowed to pick my own table. My server was nice and showed me how they handle the boils as it relates to prices and what comes with the boils. They have some premade combos or create your own. I created my own. The flavor options were limited to two and 3 spice levels. None of the boil bags came with boiled eggs as this was not an option on their menu at all. I was quite sad about that as most seafood boil places offer eggs. The lemons were not included but instead were a side option unless you wanted the small complimentary side of them. When the food was brought out, there was only one clear bag it was held in which caused the oil and sauce to later seep through the bag and get on my table. The crab leg clusters were plentiful as well as the muscles. I only wish you could get less than a pound of crab leg clusters and less than a pound of other options instead of being forced into picking a pound. All in all, not a bad place for this seafood boil connoisseur. It was a little more on the pricey side compared to what I would pay at other places. read more

We found this place on Yelp, and we're very pleased to report an enjoyable and tasty experience! We ordered the lemon pepper wings, and I'm sorry, we ate them so fast I didn't get a photo! Trust me when I say, they arrived in a basket drowning in butter and lemon pepper garlic bits. The zinging lemon flavor was mouth watering, and the wings were cooked to a perfect crisp. The flavor was super lemony, simply delicious! I kept dredging my wing into the basket to get more garlic bits. Highly recommend these! We ordered the Drift combo, with snow crab legs, black mussels, shrimp, and scallops, with the Crackin' Crab blend. The scallops were large and tender, as well as the shrimp, large and plump. If you're ready to get crackin' on some fresh seafood, then this is the place to be! Cajun style peel and eat shellfish is one of my favorite things to indulge in and this restaurant does it right. The service was great and very friendly. The location has plenty of parking and there was no wait when I visited during the week. The Blue point oysters were very tasty and refreshing so I'd recommend those if you're a fan of oysters. I also had the extra hot crackin sauce with snow crab, and this level of heat was on the border of too much for me and I'm a lover of spice. The crab was still delicious and cooked perfectly though. My boyfriend had his crab in hot (second highest heat level) and it was the best, so I'll order that next time. The sauce was a scrumptious blend of garlic, butter, lemon and pepper! This is classic seafood boil! And really good! Perfect amount of heat for the Cajun seasoning and lots of garlic and butter! The corn was fresh corn and we went in February! The servers were super sweet and great at keeping the drinks filled. If you can't handle heat you can just get garlic butter, or get 2 drinks at the table. Ha ha ha... The minute my daughter and I got out of our vehicle I noticed a mouse dead next to a tamale husk. Pretty disgusting!!! There was trash everywhere! I looked around and the parking area was clean all around Market Street and the surrounding area. Crack n Crab was the only place that had trash all around it and in their parking area. It was NASTY! We've eaten here many times but never again. I can't unsee a dead mouse within feet of their doors. There were workers outside the back of the building smoking surrounded by trash. We had gotten there 15 minutes before opening they could have sent someone out to clean up before opening. I had to pick up a script at Market Steet which took me 30 minutes after waiting in line. The restaurant was now open and the trash and dead mouse was still there waiting to greet customers. If it's this bad on the outside how bad is it inside? NEVER AGAIN! read more

We were visiting Santa Fe from Denver and literally went to Google and typed "seafood restaurants in Santa Fe." We rolled up on the Crackin crab knowing that we actually wanted crab and perhaps soft shell crab. And we were so fortunate to have had Andy greet us at the door take care of us the whole time we were there. We thought we just wanted 1 pound of snow crab, however Andy helped us with the tip that getting the boil would be a much better value and so we agreed. So we got the boil with 1 pound of snow crab along with shrimp and scallops and muscles. It also came with corn and potato which was fantastically seasoned with a medium-spicy sauce. Now, if you don't want to get your hands dirty, the boil may not be for you but they literally bring it to the table in a plastic bag with a bucket for all of your shells and discards. The table is covered with paper so it feels like you're supposed to get dirty! We actually ate outside on the patio and it was fantastic to get our hands dirty and use all the tools for the crab and watch the sunset. Andy was extremely attentive and he made sure that we had everything we needed. And he also was happy to chat with us about the Santa Fe area as we are essentially Tourists. This is a fantastic seafood restaurant with an experiential eating experience. Three cheers to Andy who was absolutely fabulous at helping us not only through the menu but all throughout our meal as well as giving us tips about the Santa Fe area in general. If you are visiting the Santa Fe area or even if you are a local, eat at the Crackin crab! You won't regret it. read more

For a very different experience, a bit messy but tasty and fun come to the Crackin' Crab. Seafood is highlighted here with a Southern twist and welcomely different than anywhere else in Santa Fe. Food is really good. I had shrimp with butter sauce and my friends had spicier fare but all was tasty with ample amounts of whatever seafood chosen. I took over 1/2 home for a second meal. First let me say the service is very good but I wish I could the same for the food. My husband and I both ordered the fried shrimp and though the batter was tasty it was dark (burnt) and the shrimp were over cooked. if i could give it no stars i would , we used to eat here 3 times a week we went in today and ordered the same thing we get every trip 1lb. boiled shrimp head on , fried shrimp basket , fried catfish basket 2 sides of rice and sweet tea ... today the shrimp were chewy and flavorless and frankly old tasting it was terrible the fried shrimp were barely fried no crunch at all the catfish was wet and floppy no crunch at all the fries were just barely cooked enough to call done and i requested extra crispy in the fries .... the response of one of the owners who was cooking ( her name is Sey or Say or Sae )to our concerns about the food was fine we wont charge for anything and we will no longer serve you here any more this is the first complaint we have ever had as regulars that eat there 2-3 times a week and thats how they treat you ..... I got on here to write another review about our experience and Crackin' Crab. I read the review left by the Brooke V. I can't imagine leaving a review like that after visiting Crackin' Crab let alone any other establishment. Why would you not speak to the owners, instead of posting something so negative and untrue. If you ate there before you know what the inside looks like! We eat there 3-4 times a month, not once have we had a negative experience! The food is incredible, we are never disappointed. The restaurant is always clean and the service is more than we could hope for. The owners and staff greet us by name every time. The restaurant is always busy which speaks for the quality and character of the business and the people who work there! I have seen the conditions that homeless people leave behind, and I know that the mall does not monitor the surrounding businesses, nor do they or could they control any rodent issues around the entire downtown area. Even after reading that ignorant review, I will continue to join my Crackin' Crab family!! A bag of Lemon Pepper crab legs with shrimp! Another bag of Crab, Shrimp, sausage with Crackin' Crab sauce! Horrible. Ordered the softshell crab.. all fried which is to be expected although there was no meat. What meat there was, was ruined by the insides of crab you don't want to eat(poop) fries were okay. My partner ordered the lobster tail and it came with one pathetic potato swimming in a plastic bag of butter. The lobster was tolerable but over cooked in my opinion. The only thing we liked was the dr. Pepper. We were the only ones in the restaurant at lunch time which was odd, given that reviews said it was the best seafood place in Sante Fe. Best experience we've had in a long time. Foy was friendly, super knowledgeable and helpful. We had never been to this location and didn't know what to order. His customer service was amazing, his suggestion was perfect. He took the time to help us and the food was amazing! For being a skeleton crew and extremely busy we got our food quickly and with a smile. With all the craziness going on right now receiving this level of customer service was pleasantly surprising. Avoid this place. Not the best choice. They serve your order in a plastic bag. The entire meal is in this bag w/melted butter at the bottom. The meal might consist of crab legs, lobster, shrimp and a side of potato and corn. Imagine your entire meal slopped together. in a plastic bag. You get no plates . You have to dig into the bag to grab your food. It's expensive.and messy If you want good seafood go to your local market and buy fresh crab legs and or other fish. and cook them yourself. Or justt go to Red Lobster.. If you want a slop of food the crakin crab is the place, YUCK!! read more

This small comfortable restaurant serves shrimp crab clams and crawfish among other crustaceans cooked in the bag with a spicy New Orleans style boil. We got takeout due to current COVID-19 restrictions and it was phenomenal! We ordered a feast with king crab, shrimp and clams with the mild sauce. The staff were very friendly and helpful in ordering. Our order was brought out to our car in not more than 10 min. It was packed nicely and didn't spill or get cold and we live about 30 min away. Super huge fan. During the shutdown, they have takeout and curbside pickup. I was in the neighborhood doing Instacart deliveries and everyone had been telling me that this is "THE PLACE". I am inclined to agree. I showed up right before they were going to close and they stayed open so they could honor my $78 order. Note that this is the primary owners based in Albuquerque who ended up buying out the first owners because they thought that the management wasn't reflecting on their business name correctly (which is valid). East Coaster here - takes me back to the clam bakes back east with slightly different seasoning than Old Bay. Not to commit blasphemy - but I might like their seasoning better - it has some heat! I think the crab cake may be a special, but it was like Pappas in Parkville, Maryland good. I'm kind of puzzled by the poor review for a softshell crab below... apparently that person doesn't know what a softshell crab is. Easily the best seafood in town. This family owned and operated seafood joint did not dissapoint. This crab is PACKED with flavor. I had 1lb of the snow crab with lemon pepper- not too spicy but definitley a kick! The quality of the crab is the highest I've seen/had in Santa Fe so far. Went out for birthday dinner and it was super busy. We waited and the staff was very busy but they were able to seat us before closing. My husband works in the food industry and made note of how busy they were and how they still took time to accommodate us so close to closing. The food is excellent as always. I have been going to the ones in ABQ and was so happy to see one here now. And then it closed but now reopened Thank God! Lol love this place and you will too if you like seafood in this style.
