We recently had two rooms re-carpeted. After getting an estimate from Home Depot, I looked in at Craftsman Floor Coverings just to see what they had to offer. They beat the price by several hundred dollars. Service was great; Mike and Mike provided helpful recommendations and communicated well throughout the process. Rob was an excellent installer, and the time from order to installation was significantly faster than Home Depot could offer. I am rarely as pleased with a service to this extent. I arranged a job that I received many bids, and Michael was the only one who suggested I might change my mind on the one room because of the uneven sub floor . The others didn't care or didn't know either way , the honest suggestion (which he would be losing $) had my attention. I had been dealing with high commissions and pressure and push of other businesses wanting the job. I walked into the Craftsman Petaluma store greeted by two Golden Retrievers then just the nicest sales person, Erica , no pressure, let me take as many samples as I needed . I then had the owner come to Novato ( no charge for Marin job like others) He was soo cool , knowledgeable , had an estimate same day and then gave me a minute to decide . Ok then... the job was done without a hitch AND .....cost was less than the estimate! omg ! I have never had a job go as well as this . USE THIS COMPANY , YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY ! read more

Mary K. helped me rig up a pretty snazzy vinyl floor. She is very nice, personally came and measured, and worked well with my schedules. She explained the quick way of installing the floor and then the correct way for a bit more. I chose the latter. My floor is oddly shaped, has cutouts for the fridge, dishwasher, and a dinette with odd angles and turns. This they did with one sheet as I had requested - no seams. The underlayment was superb. Mind you, the industry standard is to not uninstall the dishwasher. Just tuck enough of the flooring underneath so it would not show. Minus one star because the staff was less than welcoming nor was I greeted when I walked in. The project was finished in February of 2015. read more

My husband and I just bought a new home. We needed new carpet and went into Craftsman for some help and an estimate. Mike was our salesman and was so helpful. He came out two days later to our new home to give us a quote. Mike was right on time to our appointment. He was knowledgeable, came prepared with samples. We told him that we wanted carpet installed ASAP, he was willing to work with us on our time frame. Their quote came to us on Monday morning and we were pleased with their price. Mike called me and asked if his guys could install it on Friday. I was so excited, left work early to let them in. Their installers were very nice and professional. It was amazing that we had it installed so quickly. I let them in at 1pm, when I came back to check on them at 5pm they were all done!! Our carpet installation looks GREAT!! Craftsman just installed Core-Tech vinyl in a rental. Their price was better than the Costco affiliate price (a company in San Rafael that was horrible) and in line with other estimates. The sales staff was great, Mark came out to measure and was also great. The installers couldn't have been better. They had to move some appliances and never complained. They did a beautiful job and left the apartment immaculate. This place takes real pride in its work and its attitude toward customers. I'm a big fan. read more

I picked out something I liked, and had the owner, Mike explain to me about the carpet I was holding vs. something he would reccomend. As it turned out his reccomendation was less expensive and a better quality. I cannot think of one negative thing to write about my experience with Craftsman Floor Coverings. I walked in to the store with my carpeting specifications, and the request for installation within two weeks. Since they needed to measure the rooms and my car was in the shop the next day, they picked me up from my office - and as a woman, I felt comfortable and safe to do so. As soon as I picked the carpeting and colors, with the help of their in house color expert, the installation was scheduled. The installers were reliable and professional. They did an amazing job, and even recommended someone to take care of some AV cabling that needed to be done. In addition, they gave me a gift of an area rug made from the remnant. Definite A+. I was referred to Craftsman by a friend, after having had a pretty bad experience with Empire Today. The people at Craftsman were great, very knowledgeable, helpful and professional. Even the installation went smoothly, the installers are obviously experienced and know what they're doing. It's been a few months now since the job was done, and I haven't found a single problem with any of the four rooms or the hallway. I'll never use anyone else for flooring but Craftsman, and plan on having them come back to re-do my family room which Empire Today did so sloppily. read more

I recently purchased Coretec vinyl planking for a house in Petaluma from Craftsman Floors. I visited 3 local businesses selling Coretec before choosing Craftsman. Joe was the salesman and he was very helpful and wanted to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. Joel was the installer and he did a meticulous job, which included some necessary work to prepare the subflooring so that the new flooring would exactly match the height of the existing flooring that I was leaving in place in the kitchen and bathrooms. When I bought my house in 2003 the white carpet was already 4 years old but looked great. Fast forward to 2013, after living with 20-somethings for several years and having four pets for longer, the carpet was at the point where I didn't want anyone coming into the house. And the worst part was I have 3 exotic breed cats that have peed in my bedroom for the last ten years and I really did not know that there could be a solution. One day recently I noticed the Craftsmen truck next door. They were installing a new kitchen floor. I walked over and met Mike who came over and gave me an estimate on the spot. I basically told him to tell me what to do because what I was doing wasn't working. He replaced the bedroom with vinyl plank and new floor molding and chose the carpet that would be in my budget and needs for the rest of the house. All I had to do was pick the color which was the fun part. I want to say that I was comfortable with all of the team members - leaving them in my house alone for long periods of time. And I want to say I know my house was one of the worst. The poor guys working in the bedroom looked like the guys in white suits on Hoarders when they were ripping up the carpet. If you have pet issues, Craftsmen can help. I know it may seem funny but I really did live in shame and didn't know where to start. I would recommend craftsmen to anyone. Sorry, I really wanted to like this place as they have a decent selection of flooring as well as the friendliest trio of Golden Retrievers running around the place, but after spending quite a bit of time in the store selecting samples and bending the ear of the helpful saleswoman, then having the estimator come to the house to take measurements, I never heard from them again. I was supposed to have an official estimate emailed to me, so after a couple weeks of no contact, I called and left messages for the estimator, and also emailed the sales rep to find out about the estimate, but never heard from either of them. I thought all our conversations were pleasant and productive, I had no qualms with their products, service or pricing, I gushed over their wonderful pooches, so I'm completely bewildered as to why they never followed up with a written estimate or bothered to return my subsequent calls and email. So, despite initial appearances, I have to conclude that this place has totally pitiful customer service. Spent my $12K at another flooring store who seemed happy for the business. read more

We just replaced all the flooring in our home. Mike O'Brien came to our house, measured and brought samples of flooring, which made the selection process much easier. Not over whelmed with too many choices. The installation process went smoothly, all of his employees are courteous and conscientious about their work. These guys are fantastic on all levels. We had our entire house done with vinyl planks, and they did a great job. But more important than that, they were very helpful in helping us decide what to do, getting us samples, and basically guiding us through the whole process. For example, when I needed a larger sample, he had the factory send me a whole box of vinyl planks. This probably cost somebody about $100, but they didn't charge me anything. Just as a contrast, another store, whose name I won't mention, wanted to charge me for a box of samples, and also expect me to drive 3 hours round-trip to get it. They would not ship it to me. There were all sorts of other examples where craftsman came through, and solved problems for us, rather than creating problems. Their price was competitive, their products excellent, and the customer service was better than anything I could ever expect. If I could give these guys 10 stars I would! read more

Mike helped us pick out a great floor, gave us lots of samples to take home (to Bodega Bay!) and his installation crew was on time, worked quickly and cleanly - and did two complete bedrooms (pulled carpet, etc., installed new hardwood flooring) all in one day. I had heard about Craftsman Flooring through a friend. We are shopping for both carpet and hardwood flooring for our home. I went to their web site, and the hours of operation were blank. I phoned the store on Sunday morning and the recording said they were open from 12 - 4 on Sundays. After a 45 minute drive, we arrived to find their showroom closed. They are obviously not interested in new customers, and have lost their opportunity with us. read more

The woman that helped us was very good and patient, but when it came to the final installation it was delayed, and then the day of the installer was moved from 8 to 9 to 10 to 11 and then showed at noon. I had to contact the flooring place to find out where they were. I would not recommend using them. read more

Best flooring store around! Great prices, excellent selection, friendly employees, convenient. We had the most amazing experience with these guys. We had saltillo tile that needed to be removed and although we understood the dust would be tremendous, Joe and his crew kept it to a minimum. We also had base boards that we wanted to save and reuse. The guys were very careful and saved all of them. Our new wood floor couldn't be more beautiful! This company does what it says.
