Came in for lunch today with some coworkers. First informed the waitress that we were on a 1 hour time constraint to make sure we could get back on time. She said that was fine and gave us no indication that there would be a long wait. We stayed and took a seat outside at a table. Almost right after we sat down, one of the umbrellas was caught by the wind, which then came flying down towards my seat, hit me in the arm and started blowing down the sidewalk. The waitress watched all this happen, but made no attempt to go after the umbrella (2 of my coworkers went and grabbed it) nor did she apologize (though she did say that the manager has not properly tightened the holder that morning) or even ask me if I was alright (I'll be fine but am currently sporting a large scrape and bruise on my arm). She took our order after about 10 minutes so we've got about 45 minutes left for lunch (no worries yet bc she said we'd have our food in plenty of time)... well, about 35 minutes later, our food finally comes out. We now have about 10 minutes to eat before having to get back to work so we eat quickly and have her bring out our checks. Those come out promptly and 1 of my coworkers asks if I get a discount since I had been hit by the umbrella. Our waitress just laughs and shrugs it off, again not apologizing or even offering to have the manager come out to speak to me. I would've pushed it but we were late by this point and had to rush back to work. However, I am disappointed in the lack of concern of an injured customer which is why I'm giving them a 3 (the food, at least, was delicious and the prices are good) read more

Once again Craig's Cafe did not disappoint. Went to the "Dining in the Dark". This was phenomenal. Eating with a blindfold is such an experience. The food was fantastic. This was such a fun night. A five course meal for less than $50. And each course was beyond words. Keep a lookout for the next one. You won't be disappointed. read more

Hands down one of the best breakfast places in quincy. Food took a little long because it was father's day but worth it. I loved my breakfast, the waiter and gave us a side of toast and our coffee for free. That may seem small but I appreciated it and that was reflected in his tip. I am a frequent patron of Craig's but my last few visits have left a bad taste in my mouth. The food here is great and very reasonably priced, which is why I have come back even after receiving terrible service. The waitress who serves us basically every time we go is careless and quite frankly, rude. I was there this past weekend for breakfast and she sat us, but we didn't get her attention for at least ten minutes. She was busily clearing tables, even though no one was waiting to be seated, and when we tried to get her attention to order drinks she told us she'd be over shortly. More time went by. Eventually we got drinks and again were told she'd be back to take our food order. She hurried around delivering food, bringing checks, clearing more tables, briskly walking past our table and not making eye contact. I keep telling my friend we should just leave, as it's been over 40 mins since we arrived and I am parked in a 1 hour parking spot. Finally, she comes over and has the audacity to ask "are you guys ready to order?" Yes. We were ready to order 40 minutes ago. No apology for the delay, or even an excuse of her being terribly busy. She just seemed like she didn't care. The food was great as usual but it definitely gets eclipsed by the poor service. I found the young lady behind the breakfast bar to be much friendlier and more attentive - sit there if you can! read more

If this place wasn't such a dump I might go back. The first thing you see when you walk in is a refrigerator that you might store in your basement. It just gets worse from there, the behind the counter area looks like a bomb went off. The food was pretty good so it's unfortunate the rest of the experience wasn't. This was our first time here and it seems out of the ordinary based on the other reviews but the service was terrible. It was not busy, in fact there were 4 servers standing around and only about 6 active tables. We were told to seat ourselves and she'd be right with us then sat outside for 15min without anyone acknowledging us or giving us menus. We then went inside in hopes of better service but had to ask to be served. I had to ask for a menu, then for a water, then on her third trip ask if I could order. The food took about 40min for 2 people with uncomplicated orders and came out wrong before they realized it on their own and fixed it. Not a big deal, like I said the food tasted good and now we had full, happy bellies. But it again took a long time for our check to be picked up and then she ran my card twice... We are pretty patient and not high maintenance when we go out to eat, especially for a casual Sunday morning breakfast, but this was a bit ridiculous. read more

Craig's cafe is a pretty decent diner. I came here for standard breakfast fare. My eggs, bacon and toast were all delicious. The coffee is good, it's a serve yourself system so you're never stuck waiting for refills. All in all I'd say this is a solid place to come for breakfast. Pretty underwhelmed. Ordered the 3 egg breakfast. Must be small eggs because i have had bigger portions elsewhere even with a 2 egg order .3 overly crisp bacon strips so not much there either. The toast and hash browns were fine but the carb/protein ratio way too high for me. With a glass of juice (not freshly Squeezed) the damage came to 12 bucks with the tip. So a bit pricey for what you get. I left hungry. Service was fine, and they have a nice layout otherwise my rating would be 2 stars. You can do better elsewhere, but there are not many alternatives in the area. read more

Stopped in this morning for breakfast to use a Living Social coupon my brother purchased. I wasn't expecting much when we pulled up in front of an empty small simple restaurant. You order off the board and sit down- they bring the food to you. I stayed away from the Benedict unsure of what kind of quality the place would produce. I ended up ordering the Fiesta Sandwich and man it was amazing! Rosemary foccacia bread sandwiching a chipotle sauce, scrambled eggs, bacon, peppers and onions. It was great! My brother got the same plus a creme brulee iced coffee and he agreed- he especially enjoyed the iced coffee. I tried a sip and it was really really good. Definitely not what I would expect from a breakfast joint. We each ordered sandwiches for lunch as well- he got a rueben and I got a "gobbler" type sandwich. I would expect them to be equally tasty! I will definitely be back to this place- our server (who I might venture is the owner) advised that they have table service and some amazing specials on the weekends- raspberry chocolate pancakes, variations of the benedict, etc. read more

Excellent service, delicious fresh food and great ambiance. If you want to spend some time in a feel good place and walk out feeling even better, make some time to stop by this place. Something about it makes it feel personal and it's got a good vib. I think it starts with the look and feel of the place but then it continues when you're greeted and taken care of by people who are really genuinely nice. We are unsure about the rest of these ratings and here's why. We went for Saturday morning breakfast and there were a few people there. -There were no place settings at our table and tables were sharing one container of sugar. Though the serve yourself coffee option is unique, it would be nice to have sugar and creamer at the tables. This is pretty standard, no? -I agree with Heather K. I also got the New England Panini and it was over mayo'd and over cranberried. It's fine to make edible food but I was hoping for something beyond edible. It wasn't served with any side which I feel is pretty standard - fries, chips, potato salad...something? The 3 pickles from the big white bucket from Costco just didn't cut it. - Beverage selection was a little too esoteric. No bottled water, for soda only Coke and Diet Coke and then some really unique brands and flavors. I just wanted a gingerale!!! Water was never offered to us at the table. - Pancakes/eggs/hash was fine but not spectacular. For the price we feel like it's not competitive to other diners. Do feel kind of bad as we like to support the local mom and pops but there's a lot of room for improvement here. read more

Casual and prices are decent. Been here twice, once for breakfast and other for lunch and both occasions were satisfied. The grilled chicken that comes with the salad are very flavorful and not dry at all. If I crave a good and fresh salad I would come here. read more

This is for dinner at Craig's - i was surprised at how reasonably priced and tasty everything was! I had the crabcake sandwich, and my date got a pasta dish. Service was attentive without being stalker-y. They also have a beer and wine list! It was sad to see the place so dead on a Saturday night when the prices and food were both great! Recently opened for excellent high end dinner! What a surprise this is! Dinner is Wed-Sat 430-9 or 10. Went with 5 friends and all very, very happy with food and service. I had a bone-in rib eye which was amazing in flavor and texture. It's a roast, not a steak, very good size, juicy and flavorful, great garlic mashed and perfectly seasoned and cooked veggies. All the entrees were very sophisticated dinners that would not have been out of place on Newbury St in Boston, but at more reasonable Quincy rates. With such a brilliant beginning I hope this place catches on for dinner in the increasingly competitive restaurant scene of Quincy Center with new restaurants opening almost monthly during the Center revitalization. I can see these great dinner selections giving it foodie cult status where people bring their friends saying, "it is fine dining in a storefront." In the warmer weather they had a large roped off area of sidewalk tables which helped their visibility. It's a real contrast from the straight up breakfast and lunch place it is during the day, when the food is also really good, but the decor is strictly "breakfast place." One of our party knows this place for breakfast and lunch and praised it highly as the best breakfast he's had and the best breakfast deal in Quincy. Some on street parking a block away, a huge parking lot 2 blocks away on Chestnut St opposite the courthouse (which throws the gates open at 9 or 10 I believe), and a parking garage on Saville Ave behind 1250 Hancock. read more

We like this place for breakfast and thought we would try it for dinner. I guess we'll stick to breakfast. The only highlight was the buffalo chicken dip we got as an appetizer. I ordered a pasta dish with shrimp and scallops. 10 minutes after ordering, I was told they were out of scallops. The dish also supposedly was in a white wine sauce. It came out in a red sauce. It was also supposed to have artichokes. It had 1. My husband's dinner was supposed to come with risotto and they brought it out with mashed potatoes. Upon inquiry, they said they ran out of risotto but didn't offer any other options. I was also told they had no lemon (I wanted one for my water) but my husband's meal came with a slice of lemon. This place is like my golf game. Consistently inconsistent. Dinginess on the floor aside, I've had some good food there over the past few months. Today, I waited for far too long for New England Panini. I told the ?order taker? No apple because I just had some serious dental work done. There were apple. While I was waiting, a woman who had gotten her sandwich came back in and was saying to the person "There is No Way I wanted Green pepper on this" She got her money back. This is our go-to breakfast spot. Everything is so tasty. I'm not one for french toast, but I always get them when I go because they are awesome here. Poached eggs, delicious potatoes, crispy bacon, and all sorts of cool hash/benedict mixes! Dave is such an AWESOME waiter - he's always on top of everything. I love that you can have some coffee while you wait for a table. I'm not a food critic by any means, what I look for is pretty simple: good food and good, friendly service. We got both of them and more today for a late brunch, I couldn't have picked better. I ordered their smores iced coffee, build your own omelette that came with hashbrowns and toast and my boyfriend got the blueberry muffin french toast, which was a featured special.
