I found it quite by accident but it had not opened yet for dinner. So I made a promise to myself to make it a special occasion to go there. I met the owner who raises his own Black Angus. It is truly destination restaurant! I had been dying to go there for a long time. Unfortunately, we didn't get there until after they had closed the outside eating areas, which border a beautiful pond. We got there right before the Halloween weekend and, we enjoyed the very elegantly quirky decor and a highly professional staff. The selections we ordered were truly top-notch. In fact, mine was the best filet mignon I've ever had in my life and I've eaten it all over the world. The other members of my party enjoyed the selections they had, especially the salmon. Interesting eclectic place period I went there and sat at the bar period it was incredibly hot out and at first they wouldn't turn on the air conditioning cause there weren't enough people there which I thought was very weird. My husband surprised me with reservations at Crane Brook. It my first time. We were greeted by the hostess Laura. We were to be seated inside (had to look twice to make sure the life sized piano playing manikins weren't real...cheesy and tacky) In the end we chose the outside deck covered by a pergola that was situated around a manmade water pond. Very pretty. I was able to witness the beauty of a swan family with three babies. Incredible. Dinner was an appetizer of Shrimp Mozambic. It lacked flavor and the shrimp must have been frozen from Indonesia. Farm raised shrimp-doesn't warrant the price they were asking. It was served with limp bread. It should have been crispy toast points that would soak up the sauce. Missed the mark. I had the Black Salmon with tomato risotto. Salmon was an end piece that was dreaded in some blackening spice and the risotto was bland and mushy. Husband ordered the steak tips only to be told they were out of them at 6:30pm. He pivoted and got the filet. It came on a bed of pan grease with wilted asparagus and lack luster potatoes. It was almost rare when it came to to table but waitress, Laura, wasted no time rushing it back to kitchen. It came back edible. We indulged in an over priced piece of chocolate cake that was dry and tasted like a day old donut. The view was magical and we wanted to explore the grounds after paying $250.00 for an average dinner. I was admiring the grounds and scoping it out for a future wedding venue. It was so pretty I was able to forgot about the subpar dinner. Then as we were headed to our car we heard abruptly a loud call out---"THE GARDEN IS CLOSED!" Horrified that a waitstaff would act so unprofessional, I had to call to speak with owner. I was shocked to learn that that was the Owner, Marie, and her husband were the ones who acted so impolite & nasty!!!! She back peddled and said she was concerned about her dogs, that she admitted were not in property and that a mysterious sign blew away that said "KEEP OUT". She had an unwelcoming and blistering attitude. I had to ask for an apology for her rude behavior. Appalling. I will tell you that our waitress Laura was very attentive and was virtually running the restaurant single handedly. She was the hostess, the waitress and assisted opening a bottle of wine for on of her coworker who did not know how. Kiddos to her! I do not recommend this restaurant. The prices do not justify the lack of quality of food but most importantly the overall experienced was high jacked by ignorant, overly aggressive, and rude owners. If you dare to go to Crane Brook beware of the garden gnomes that will run you off the property!!!!! THE OWNERS NEGATIVE RESPONSE AND BLATANT LIES, ARE STORIES FOR A TRUE FAIRY TALE. Saw pictures of the Steaks at Crane Brook Restaurant on Facebook and decided to make the trip to give it a shot. We went on a Friday night at 6:00 and it was pretty quite (maybe 4-5 tables of 2 to 4 people). Old rustic dinning room was a great place to enjoy our dinner. I bet it is beautiful in the summer. Our waitress was nice and really tried, but I am assuming she was new because she didn't know anything on the food or drink menus and we had to hand the menu to her and point to each thing we wanted, so she could write them down. Prices of the steaks were really high and I couldn't justify spending $50-$100 on any of the cuts with other items on the menu reasonably priced that sounded good. We ordered a couple of drinks that were fantastic and got a appetizer of Duck Pillows that didn't disappoint. Nice fluffy pastry puff with duck and veggies inside. I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass with Tomato Risotto and Asparagus. A little disappointed in the Sea Bass as it was a little bland and just tasted like any white fish, but the risotto was cooked perfectly. My wife orders the Brown Sugar Bourbon Steak Tips Medium Rare. She felt there was a little too much sauce on them and said next time she would get it on the side because she liked the flavor. One tip was really rare and the others were medium. I would like to try it again in the future. read more

My family took me here for my 55th birthday. I've always wanted a tomahawk steak. Well I finally was able to have one. It didn't disappoint. Cooked to perfection. We had the fried calamari for an appetizer. Very tasty. My wife loved her seafood casserole. There was something for all ages as my teenage son ordered his favorite hamburger. Interesting restaurant that quite doesn't know what it wants to be. A combination of Asian and Las Vegas statues (Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr) surround you. The meal arrived as if we were in a fast food restaurant. Arrived at 5:30 and walking out at 6:20. Not a place where you can savor your drink or meal. My boyfriend and I are local to the Plymouth area and were wanting to try something/somewhere new on our weekly date night. When we walked in we were surprised that it was pretty quiet on a Friday night of Memorial Day weekend as it was lovely on the inside, and had a lovely patio overlooking the water. We were greeted by friendly waitstaff and asked if we would like inside or outside, and we chose to sit outside. We both had the bolognese and shared a bottle of wine, and had a cocktail for dessert. We had great service, beautiful views, and the bolognese was great overall! It could benefit from an extra splash of something to give it the full kick it deserves, but it was great regardless and we both ate our plate! We will definitely return! Again, really surprised at the lack of a crowd as the atmosphere is incredibly welcoming, the menu versatile and has a bit of everything for even the picky eaters, and such friendly staff! Maria and her husband did an absolute stunning job bringing this building back to life! Our drinks were so good. We started our meal with meatballs with a cranberry sauce. An "ode to Carver," and they were awesome. We each had a pasta dish. Fresh and wonderful. We finished inside with the lava cake because the sun had set and it was getting a little buggy. Our server was more than accommodating when we asked if it was possible to go in. It was a perfect place to finish the night, anyway. Over priced for terrible food. Service was very slow but I understand as they were short staffed. Drinks were good but food was terrible. I ordered a 12 oz. sirloin steak and I could not eat it. I asked for it to be cooked medium, it was served raw. When I tried cutting it, it was the toughest steak I have ever eaten. Even though they are know for their own farm grown steaks, it was terrible. The positive, the manager heard me complain and she removed it off the bill. We had been wanting to go to the Crane Brook for the last two years and finally had a chance to the other night. There was no wait at sunset for a table for four and we sat on the GORGEOUS back patio. The menu boasts tons of steak options and then a few poultry and seafood. Everything we ordered was delicious (the food and the drinks). The one underwhelming aspect was the lemon mascarpone cake, which is clearly not made fresh (which is fine but the price is steep). In the future I'd opt for their crime brûlée, which was absolutely delicious! read more

ZERO stars .. I was extremely excited to try this place out. Please know our apps were ok nothing great to talk about but ok.. French onion soup was terrible tasted like gravy..Our meal on the other hand..... I Ordered a med rare filet received it med-med well I politely asked for a new one that wasn't over cooked. Waitress returned with my steak to inform me chef said it was cooked perfect. When I tell you the outside was well and the very dead center (small very small area) was medium rare I was not happy for a $48 piece of meat I want the entire thing to be medium rare. Well chef wasn't happy with me he didn't come to our table and talk to us. he instead cornered me (while I was going to the restroom) pointed a finger in my face and proceeded to yell at me. After waitress had taken steak off bill the owners wife (I think) put the steak back on bill right before running our card and proceeded to tell us to take it off her tip. I'm sorry it's not her fault steak wasn't cooked properly it's the chefs fault but yet the establishment had no problem taking money out of their staffs pocket to cover their own mistakes. I really wanted my experience to be great but absolutely was the opposite. I would never recommend them to anyone ever. read more

Tough night to review, being Thanksgiving, but it was not busy. Still, it was understaffed (like many businesses these days) and disorganized. The poor waitresses were running around trying to manage, and they did their best to be cheerful and nice. I had the traditional turkey and ham dinner. The restaurant did not smell like roasting turkeys or any good food smell, so I believe they served turkey roll they just heated up; it also didn't have the texture of fresh poultry. The cranberry sauce was jellied from a can, sad given we were in cranberry land. I could say more about the quality of the food but you get the picture. The ambience was a little creepy, with maniquins here and there and no cohesive look. These are just my opinions and "taste" may be "in the eye of the beholder" but if you look at the owner'sresponses to other reviews, they a defensive and a bit rude. I will not go back. read more

Not usually a person that complains but the experience we just had here needed to be shared. I will start with the food and location are outstanding. The first time we went here was outstanding. Reminded me of the Old Hells Blazes tavern in Middleboro. The second time it was just well....Hell. We had a reservation and showed up on time. We were seated and promptly forgotten about. Finally asked for a waitstaff at the 20 minute mark and 10 minutes later submitted the drink order. Waitress said she was not told about us but seeing as she seated us...? Should have ran then the person at the table next to us was pissed off as they got the wrong meal and were still waiting a half hour later. Got 2 drinks right away Coke and a water we did not ask for. 20 minutes later I asked about my wife's drink. She said the bar was backed up. Went up to the bar 10 minutes later and got it myself bar had no order for it. Also ordered Chowder as an appetizer. At the 40 minute mark got cold clam chowder. It had sat waiting to be picked up. Another waitress got it after we asked again. 90 minutes in we finally got our meals.... Well at least my wife did. Waitress I ordered Short Rib meal and she brought me a Short Rib Flatbread Appetizer as a meal. Then told me that's what I ordered. She said she would put in the order now and I said...no thank you. At that point we just got a to go box. Waitress said well we won't charge you for the two chowders. Got the bill not only did we get charged for the chowders we got charged for the meal I never got. Asked her to fix this and got the bill back without the meal but still with chowders. At that point I was like screw it let's go. I was at least going to have the chowder when I got home and warmed it up but Alas she threw it out when we were disputing the bill. Too bad I really like this place. My observations wait staff had too many customers. Not sure if our waitress was new but get a friggin pen and pencil. Half of these issues could have been addressed with attention to detail. Lastly prioritize the drinks. People will wait and be understanding if they can enjoy a drink while waiting. This episode cost over $100 for 2 and a half hours of frustration and I still had not eaten read more

Very disappointed with the food. Lobster Bisque was lukewarm at best, The bakes stuffed lobster($38.00 for 1 lb ) was under cooked as soon as I opened the tail, it was slimy. The owner/manager seemed more interested in showing off the decor than the quality of the food! I received an apology from her for the bisque, but she never even came over after the baked stuffed problem. Nothing was comped. No additional credit were offered. Not a very good management example. Also, there is definite electrical problem in there, every time someone walks thru the main room, the light fixtures flicker! Very unsettling in an otherwise beautiful ambiance. read more

Recently went here to celebrate my mother's birthday. I have to agree with some other reviews - good, but not worth the money. Service was very slow but we were in no rush. The waitress was attentive and friendly. We got a few appetizers to start. The stuffed mushrooms were teeny-tiny button mushrooms. My husband and I each had a ravioli dish. It was tasty, but we each received only 4 (good-sized) ravioli. Two members of our party ordered the steak tips. Each person received just 3 tips and one dish had much, much larger pieces than the other. Food was decent; atmosphere was fun and eclectic, but nothing justified the big price tag. Might be a nice spot to stop for a drink but it's not a restaurant I'd go out of my way to visit again. read more

I went to Crane Brook with my husband and two teenage kids for Mother's Day. My son was served a raw pork chop. It was completely raw on the inside. I sent it back and told the server it is unsafe to eat raw pork. The waitress took the pork chop off the bill however, nobody from management came over to inquire, apologize or rectify the situation. I was looking forward to dining and Crane Brook, but will not be returning. First, we had to wait 1 hour for our drinks. (Wine and soda). My steak (filet@ $40.00) was tough snd had the flavor of meat that had been in the freezer for too long. The outsides edges were tough and overcooked. Maybe it was thawed in the microwave and cooked in a cast iron. I left most if it there. The wait person was kind but clearly lacked restaurant experience. I don't mind paying top dollar for dinner but not when the food and service are far below par. read more
