Brown Sugar and Bourbon Steak Tips with mashed potato's and green beans.
    Mike K.

Saw pictures of the Steaks at Crane Brook Restaurant on Facebook and decided to make the trip to give it a shot. We went on a Friday night at 6:00 and it was pretty quite (maybe 4-5 tables of 2 to 4 people). Old rustic dinning room was a great place to enjoy our dinner. I bet it is beautiful in the summer. Our waitress was nice and really tried, but I am assuming she was new because she didn't know anything on the food or drink menus and we had to hand the menu to her and point to each thing we wanted, so she could write them down. Prices of the steaks were really high and I couldn't justify spending $50-$100 on any of the cuts with other items on the menu reasonably priced that sounded good. We ordered a couple of drinks that were fantastic and got a appetizer of Duck Pillows that didn't disappoint. Nice fluffy pastry puff with duck and veggies inside. I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass with Tomato Risotto and Asparagus. A little disappointed in the Sea Bass as it was a little bland and just tasted like any white fish, but the risotto was cooked perfectly. My wife orders the Brown Sugar Bourbon Steak Tips Medium Rare. She felt there was a little too much sauce on them and said next time she would get it on the side because she liked the flavor. One tip was really rare and the others were medium. I would like to try it again in the future.

Beautiful location for a sit down dinner. Food is very good and a lot of it locally sourced. I had one of the best steaks here ever and I love to go here for special occasions and sit by the pond when weather permits.

    Dinner with husband 12/23/2024

Everything was delicious, beautiful, nice atmosphere, staff & boss was great!!! This was ours Christmas dinner reservation on December 2023 was very nice . I definitely recommend.

My boyfriend and I are local to the Plymouth area and were wanting to try something/somewhere new on our weekly date night. I explained to him I wanted to "go somewhere where I can sit outside, with a lovely drink in my hand, enjoy the sun/views, and enjoy some great food!" We came across Crane Brook Restaurant. When we walked in we were surprised that it was pretty quiet on a Friday night of Memorial Day weekend as it was lovely on the inside, and had a lovely patio overlooking the water. We were greeted by friendly waitstaff and asked if we would like inside or outside, and we chose to sit outside. We both had the bolognese and shared a bottle of wine, and had a cocktail for dessert. We had great service, beautiful views, and the bolognese was great overall! It could benefit from an extra splash of something to give it the full kick it deserves, but it was great regardless and we both ate our plate! We will definitely return! Again, really surprised at the lack of a crowd as the atmosphere is incredibly welcoming, the menu versatile and has a bit of everything for even the picky eaters, and such friendly staff! If you haven't tried this place yet, go do so, before it stops being a hidden gem and the crowd get big!

The new owners have put so much work, love, dedication and money into this restaurant and it shows! It's amazing. The restaurant is so beautiful. Maria and her husband did an absolute stunning job bringing this building back to life! Our drinks were so good. We started our meal with meatballs with a cranberry sauce. An "ode to Carver," and they were awesome. We each had a pasta dish. Fresh and wonderful. We finished inside with the lava cake because the sun had set and it was getting a little buggy. Our server was more than accommodating when we asked if it was possible to go in. It was a perfect place to finish the night, anyway. The food and conversation was so good I forgot to take photos.

Bartender handled the whole joint on a Saturday lunch. -- Patty Melt: Nice straddling between traditional and innovative. Brisket patty, neither thick nor thin, with a soft grind, cooked showing pink (I asked for medium rare if possible). Bacon-onion-jalapeño jam with some zip and bacon saltiness and bendy texture. Caramelized onions with a hint of sweetness. Partly-melted American cheese. Griddled marble rye with unnoticeable butter. Not perfection, but an enjoyable mix of flavors and textures. -- Fries (with the patty melt): Thin, crunchy shoestrings, aggressively salted, in assorted lengths. -- Quinoa Bowl: Bright flavors, good textures, per my wife. -- Ginger Soda: Made in house, string Ginger flavors, not too much sugar. Very good, though at $7, it's gotta be something you're certain you want. Solid experience. Hard to get a full picture without trying more things, but good enough to try more. And many good options for vegetarian dishes and mocktails.

Not divey, but you walk in and you're basically at the bar. There's bar seating, a few tables on the side, a few in the back. People were eating and drinking wherever. Service: Prompt, friendly. The bartender was the owner, chatting with a local about working where he lives and drinking while he works. But very friendly and open to visitors here. And no overwhelming Boston accent. If you're not local, you'll do fine. Food: OK, I was here on an impulse search for dessert. They happened to have fresh homemade donut holes to go, so I got some cinnamon dusted. And by dusted, I mean WHOA NELLY that's a lot! And the donut holes were also huge. And they came with warm caramel dipping sauce. I couldn't put it down. While I was waiting (again, didn't take long, they were just shaking the topping on in the back), I looked over and saw bar pies that honestly? To this North Jerseyan? Looked like good tasty pizza. In Massachusetts. You have been warned. If you stay on Route 25 to bypass Bourne on your way to or from the bridges, you're not just adding mileage to your car to save a little time. I don't know if I was starving, unhappy or what but this place and meal hit the spot and hit it hard. I thought I deserved a drink so I got a Guinness, which was thankfully on tap so yah! I got the bourbon steak tips with steak fries and opted for a garden salad instead of the green beans - yes, yes, and yes! Steak tips were perfectly flavorful and cooked just right for my taste. I really wanted fries and (unlike some of my family/friends) I actually like steak fries and they were cooked up just the way I like'em (crisp outside, not too mushy on the inside). The salad though, yah it was basic and yet not - all kinds of different colored tomatoes which actually had great flavor to them, and it was not just a couple but quite a few and they were "fresh". That is basically what I loved about the salad - not your typical anemic looking/tasting salad but with mixed greens (not just lame looking iceberg) and full of other veggies. The server also could not have been nicer (like I said I went through a lot that day so seeing a friendly face was nice) and always checking on us. I think we made a great choice in stopping here - it was a 4:30 on a Tuesday and it was busy. Good sign!

It has that cozy hometown pub feel: sports on, music playing, and a great local vibe. The staff treats you like you've been coming in for years, making you feel like a regular right away -- and that's definitely a good thing. Homemade comfort food that hits on every level, a delicious menu from top to bottom, and a drink menu that complements it perfectly. And by the way... the Guinness pours well!
