I have been a loyal Crate & Barrel customer for many years. I have bought many gifts from them, furnished my home, & even had my wedding registry with them. For the first time I needed to return an item- 2 small laundry baskets. I shipped them back months ago and despite emailing Crate & Barrel the shipping confirmation of the baskets being received @ their business, I have not been credited the cost and they do not answer my emails. My fiancé and I recently went to this Crate & Barrel location for our wedding registry and we had a wonderful experience. We were there for probably 5 hours because there is so much to take in, and we wanted to take a thorough look at everything. Everyone was super helpful and we were asked if we needed help several times (not at all in a pushy way though). Shout out to Linda who specifically gave us really helpful advice for our registry! My wife and I purchased a bedroom set in February 2019 from the Costa Mesa C&B location. The staff at the store was courteous and we were pleased that Saturday delivery was an option. When our items arrived, the delivery guys were professional and timely. Unfortunately the dresser had a drawer that was damaged, which we didn't notice until a couple days later when I actually placed some weight in the drawer. We called the store and again the employee I spoke interacted with was accommodating and immediately ordered a replacement. So, I stayed home a second Saturday afternoon for the replacement item, when I got a call a couple hours before the delivery window to inform me that the replacement was damaged in transit. The representative on the phone apologized and communicated that C&B would have to order a third dresser and again reschedule the pickup/delivery. The third dresser was delivered as promised, completing the transaction two months after we initially made the purchase. Not a terrible experience IMO, but when I have to make arrangements on 3 separate Saturday afternoons, over a two months span, to make sure I'm at home to receive a furniture delivery of an "in stock item", I'm likely going to give the competition a chance on the next furniture purchase. read more

Setting up your wedding registry could be stressful and it would have been without the wonderful gentleman Chris who helped my fiancé and I. We thought they still had the guns, and I wanted to go pew pew around the store but now I guess they do it from their app. He helped me get it set up, was patient and then when I got locked out he helped me reset my password. He also gave us great suggestions on price points for a guess and recommendations on different types of coffee makers and air fryers. Very happy with Chris and the team there! This place went above and beyond my expectations. I walked in with an "idea" but when I started to walk around the show room, I became overwhelmed and I just felt like going in circles. Then Mrs Barbie Carter approaches me with the sweetest smile and asked me if I needed help. I said "yes! Please!" And she took the time to listen to me and my ideas. She immediately took her ipad and created a little "account" for me, and kept adding ideas and items. By the time I left, she emailed me everything and told me I could email her anytime. Of course, I changed my mind the next day and sent her new pictures with ideas, she was so kind to reply and get me more ideas. I went to the store and she explained they have a fee for their decorators to go to your place and help you with tips, colors, ideas, etc. She did come and she was prepared! She was so professional and made great points about light, location of the items etc. Even better, the fee was credited back to me when I finally decided what to get!!! I'm at a loss of words for the customer service experience that I received from Jorge today. He was not only very knowledgeable on every single item, but he was extremely considerate about our budget. He knew I was helping a friend who just moved out here to attend school, and gave us invaluable tips on what was a necessity versus a recommended good. Additionally, he was just genuinely kind (helped us carry all our bags out, gave us tips for moving to a new location, etc). Truly one of the best customer service experiences of all time. Ordered a bunch of stuff for pick up which I've never done before and it was super easy and painless. One of my items was on backorder although it was on the shelves so it must have been an issue with the system but they were able to quickly correct that. I was helped by Samuel I believe and he was really on top of it all and offered to bring my things to my car even though I could carry it, but it was as though he wanted to help and not at all that he was obligated to which was really great service. I never carry cash but in that moment I really wish I did so here's a review instead, any manager reading this please give him proper kudos or something ! read more

Got home from Crate and Barrel at South Coast Plaza this afternoon and immediately went and bought a lottery ticket. But I had already hit the jackpot, as my wife and I had the best experience working with Ed Dang throughout the store. We had some furniture and accessories to purchase, and it became quite obvious he was not hired as Christmas help! In fact, I was so impressed with his design flair and speed of execution, I had to ask him how long he's been with C&B - - 16 years, and it shows... But if I could give him 10 stars I would - for his patience! We changed our minds a handful of times and he wasn't annoyed at all...he worked his iPad as if he had invented it, and made changes on the fly. Excellent experience, and we now know who to ask for when we visit the store! read more

- Locale Destination - It's on Bear St and Sunflower Ave in Costa Mesa. It's in a "Crystal Court" - across from South Coast Plaza. Right next to the outside parking. Now it's next to my favorite clothing shop "Anthropologie". Decor is simple, sleek and clean in white - colors on products would stand out well. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They do offer a free design consultation if you need helps for decor. They also offer "3D decor" thing online. I wanna check it out! They aren't just china and glasses. They do have great furnitures (upstairs). Sofa: Very simple yet sophisticated design. Various styles and colors. Most of them are really comfortable. There's a little corner section that you can see TONS of fabric samples (various colors and design - TONS) for your custom design sofa. It takes 7 ~ 10 weeks, but it totally worth it! The collections are just amazing!! Bed: They have various styles and design. You can also create customized head board. Lovely! Tables: This isn't "IKEA". These pieces are steady. I saw many organic (natural tree) ones. Interesting. Carpet: You can find bigger carpets with various design. Lights: Sleek yet sophisticated. - Conqueror's Deduction - I love simple, modern, and minimalism when it comes to design. I love the modern sleek design and varieties of fabric choices. I haven't checked out the furniture shopping area right by 405 fwy off Harbor Blvd. So I can't say this is the best yet, but I do find many good pieces that I do like. Good find ;) read more

This is half about the representative who helped us here and the other half to Crate and Barrel quality of furniture. My husband and I went to a Crate and Barrel looking for an EASY/LOW MAINTENANCE sofa. A representative pointed us to the "Davis 2-Piece Sectional Sofa" for $1,999.00 that we fell in love with. We elaborated that we really wanted a sofa that was easy to clean and would last. She still recommended this sofa, so we went online and ordered it. When we were contacted by the Crate and Barrel delivery people, they gave us a run down about how to take care of the sofa. She mentions that we CANNOT clean the sofa with a wet/damped towel. That if it actually gets dirty, it would have to be upholstered... WHAT THE HECK! That does NOT sound like LOW maintenance at all. But we figured, we wouldn't eat on the sofa and just be careful. When delivered, we were still in love! BUT less than a month in, the sectional cushion flattened out. We don't have kids or a big dog that uses the sofa like a trampoline. When we called Crate And Barrel we were told that we had to "fluff" once a week... This was not in the run-down when the representative called me about delivery times. If so, with the not easy to clean and fluffing of cushions, we would have cancelled the order. Crate and Barrel was nice enough to send us another cushion for the sectional part. BUT, a one week in, the cushion is torn at the seams. -__- My husband would get on my case for shopping at Target because things are cheap since its not made with "quality" from his opinion... at least now I can say, "Target only would have charged us $200 for a crappy sofa." The kitchen section here is great. There are tons of useful products for cooking. The sales staff is helpful and knowledgeable about what the store carries. They also have wedding registry services here. It's easy to look up registries and set one up, too. When a guest's gift shipment from their website was broken during shipping, it was hassle free to bring it to the store to exchange. I have had good experiences at this store. Their furniture section on the top floor is fun to browse. read more

I love Crate and Barrel and recently spent over $150 there. Having been cooped up in the house, this shopping trip was something I really looked forward to. At checkout, a clerk, exasperated with his duties, signaled I was next. No "hello" or "how are you" Okay. Thinking it's the holidays and he's busy, I ignored this. He left to get some stock and when he returned, I attempted to engage him, saying how pleased I was with one of my purchases. Silence. Thinking he might not have heard me,I commented on how great it would be for Christmas. Again, nothing. I looked around and realized there was nobody in line behind me. Here was this haughty salesperson who couldn't be bothered to treat customers kindly in the middle of a pandemic in one of the nicest shopping malls still left in the country. Seriously? To any supervisors, managers or corporate execs reading this: lots of smart, warm, customer-oriented people are out of work. If you cannot get current staff to see that, in this environment, we are keeping you in business, perhaps putting this 20-30 year old white male employee who works mornings in another position--away from the public--would be the way to go. Until then, I'll be taking my business to Pottery Barn, Macy's Home and Williams-Sonoma--all located in this mall. read more

Why is everything so damn expensive? I was looking for a lamp, but everything they had was over $100...for a lamp! I picked one up anyways because I had a gift card to supplement the purchase. I must say that it is a mighty fine looking lamp indeed and I use it everyday, but C & B takes a huge chunk of your wallet. In general, C & B carries classic, tasteful furniture. This is the kind of place I see myself shopping at if I had a swank job. read more

Probably one of my favorite stores for the home. While many items are pricy, the stuff I have from Crate and Barrel have lasted for over 2 decades. I trust the quality of the items from Crate and Barrel, and love it even more when they have a sale. 20 years ago I registered all of my kitchen and bedding from this company. My gorgeous kitchenware (from dinner plates, coffee / latte cups, and flatware) to my pots / pans, kitchen knifes are still in tip top shape, and even my linen, while a bit faded, are still in great shape. That's how you know its quality stuff... it holds up to the test of time. If you're in need of a wedding or birthday gift (or a gift for yourself) this is the first place I think of. For a hostess or housewarming gift, I love browsing through all the different wine and beer glasses, and buying a few to bring to the party. Their drink ware is surprisingly affordable, and form some items, you can get discounts if you get them in groups of 6 or 12. Overall a great store, Decent service (as in most retail cases, there are some bad associates), and if their store doesn't carry the item, they'll find another C+B store which does, and transfer it to the store for pick up (or to your home). In a hurry and need the stuff now? Shop online and have the stuff waiting for you at the store. read more

Yep! I love Crate and Barrel. We drove to Cali to register at Crate and Barrel and to check out the beach for the weekend. This Crate and Barrel was great. Two stories of wonderfulness. We signed up for a wedding registry event and got to do our shopping with fellow registry folk on Sunday morning before the store opened to the public. They had fresh juice, mimosas, pastries, donuts and awesome customer service. Definitely a place you have to check out if you're planning a wedding like myself. Everyone from the moment we walked in were super friendly. Our favorite was Jorge! He was just so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful! He gave us a tour of the store and gave us some great advice for our registry. He sure does know his stuff. And then there's the store itself. Super organized, high quality products and guest vendors that show you how to use their products. So much fun! We finally have one part of our registry down and we have Crate and Barrel to thank for that. Now off to do some more wedding planning. read more

Same great store, great location. If you've already been to crate and barrel, then you know they have a ton of options and a pretty wide selection of stuff; but it does come at a price. It's your typical "higher end" home furnishing and home goods store, so if you're on a budget, go to home goods. With that said, this specific store is very clean and elegant looking, well-designed, and the staff is everywhere ready to help you out. We even registered at this store when we got married. I honestly with there were more C&B's around, but when I have to go to one, I usually pick this place 2 times out of 3. Parking - if you can get lucky, there's a parking lot immediately outside of the store off of Bear street...you can usually wait a couple minutes for someone to come out...but if not, you can always go straight to the structure or park underground; we've never had a problem with parking. read more

I've not spent a cent here and I'm writing this review? How? Well, the most recent experience here was when we had a very old gift certificate (the kind that you give to someone on a piece of card stock, remember those? ) It was from 1998! They still took it, no questions asked. What about the other shopping trips you asked? Well, we had quite a bit of items from our registry about 3 and a half years ago. It basically went straight to storage. Zoom into present after finally having a place of our own, we noticed broken dishes, and many imperfections when we opened some glassware/bowls/plates and such. We still had the receipts to some but I had no problems what-so-ever when exchanging for another piece (with the exception for a glass that they no longer carry). I was elated the process was so easy! And of course, the last experience is when your significant other just pays for you. It does help that Crate and Barrel suits both of our tastes. Otherwise, I'd be forking out some dough here. Other notes, I really like the furnitures they have here on the upper floor. Its tasteful, albeit, more than what I can afford. Once in awhile, they do have "damaged" and "as is" furniture that are very reasonable priced. I always make an effort to come here and hope that I find "the one" It sure does make shopping fun. read more

This retailer has ZERO Warehouse control and disorganized beyond comprehension. I am surprised they are still in business. Our furniture delivery has been canceled 3 times. THESE WERE CONFIRMED DELIVERIES THE NIGHT BEFORE. Please note: The delivery was even canceled when the driver called from the truck 30 minutes prior to arriving...they lied it was even on the truck. AVOID ordering anything for delivery. In addition to how inept delivery systems are at C&B, we ordered Charger Plates at our local store in March 2023. Our Salesperson stated they are backordered until August 2023. We were ok with that. Guess what, they showed up at our door 5 days later. This company has no regard for their customers. read more

We finished a remodel about a year ago, and ended up purchasing a number of items at the South Coast Plaza Crate and Barrel. We've have had a good experience each time, but I felt compelled to write a review today after a recent purchase of a small accent table. First of all, Gene was super helpful (and we recalled he'd helped us with design ideas and purchases in the past). He printed off a couple of info sheets on things we were considering but not ready to buy today, and gave us excellent design advice without any heavy sales pressure. He got called away to a staff meeting while we were still contemplating something, and Carla stepped in to help us complete the sale on his behalf. I really appreciated the advice we got from both of them, and the fact that Carla made it easy for us to purchase it without Gene losing the sale. It seemed like excellent team work, and we had a low pressure shopping experience. The table arrived yesterday and looks great. The Crate and Barrel credit card rewards (10% back in the form of a voucher), keeps us returning to the store, and then people like Gene and Carla make us happy to support them. read more

Don't order anything from them. The ETA they provided is not even close to the actual delivery date. Every time I call and check status of my order, they can't provide any information. The sofa I order back in early May came in damaged and I'm still waiting for another section to be delivered. I wish I never ordered anything from them. I've always received good service here. Always had a sales person to help me and always received gift wrap when I have asked. The store is always organized with a clean appearance. Some of the products here are just way overpriced. So many cooking supplies and gadgets....once I have what I need, I don't need 5 other products to do the same thing. I love walking around stores that sell kitchenware - especially good quality kitchenware. This place almost has it all - everything from simple plating dishes to dinner sets to assorted pots and pans and kitchen tools. I am currently switching from using nonstick pots and pans to stainless steel (and who knows, maybe cast iron later...?) and was really happy to find an All-Clad 10" skillet in the clearance section - that's right! This place also has a clearance section so don't forget to check that out. I wish I had more money to splurge on some awesome bakeware, but they had the BKF I was looking for at a reasonable price. Service was friendly and courteous. Definitely used up a couple of hours of my day here! read more
