A little girl sitting behind us told her parents that it was loud - from the voice of babes. The menu said the lemonade was homemade - I guess if you scoop powdered lemonade into water, that is considered lemonade. The antipasto salad is a large portion and was good, maybe overdressed. We got the salmon app, which I just like the smoked salmon you get from the store, which I like the smoked salmon from the store- so I guess that's okay.... Well I can't speak for the food because we never got seated. We had 10 people and were told they couldn't guarantee when they could seat us. We asked to split 6 and 4 and were told they only had one table for 6 and it had just been seated that table so again they couldn't "guarantee when we could get a table. Our group went in for lunch after a long day of hiking. Everything started out like normal. Our sin was to move an unoccupied chair from a high table to the bar where we were sitting. We've all been in a situation where people sit in between empty seats and you're stuck shuffling. We ordered, and then... Katie, the manager approaches my friend next to me and asks where we got the chair - we answered, everything goes downhill the next time she opens her mouth and tells her to: "get off my chair, I need it back." We said no problem, but are you going to find us another chair? It was ridiculous. She refused to answer or be polite, just grabbed the chair and turned her back without presenting a solution. I've never dealt with such an ignorant manager. Why was this even a problem? The situation could've been avoided by approaching and giving us a friendly notice that your policy is not to borrow chairs from tables OR GRAB AN EMPTY CHAIR and backfill the spot WITHOUT even talking to us or being a complete asshole. If we weren't hungry and exhausted - we would have left the establishment after that experience. Instead we kept cool, got our food, enjoyed it, tipped our very courteous bar server and left. The food is great, but it'll be a roll of a dice on the professionalism. And heaven forbid you move a chair. read more

We stopped in Buena Vista on our way to Ouray. The aroma of Crave led me to investigate if they had gluten free pizza. I had originally planned to stop at another restaurant and I am glad I changed my mind. I had the Pig and Fig pizza on a gluten free crust. It is cooked in a wood fire oven on its own tray so there is no risk of contamination from the oven. I really enjoyed the combination of sweet and salty. The crust was well cooked and not crumbly. Although a little noisy, the food is excellent, and we would definitely go back again. Their house green salad was huge and chocked full of wonderful ingredients. I had a cup of the minestrone soup, and it too, was excellent. Lots of vegetables, smattering of pasta, and one of the most flavorful soups of this kind that I've ever tasted. Ok, i get a drink at the bar and tell the host working the front counter to let me know when my to go order was ready. About 6:40 I ask her if my order had come up. She said nope. I was wandering around downtown BV looking for a place to grab a quick bite to go for lunch. It must have been the day of the week, but I had trouble finding a place that was open for a quick salad or sandwich. Finally I happened upon Crave and saw that they had salads on the menu. Good enough. The place itself was nice and open - clean and modern. The hostess greeted me and directed me to the bar when I told her I wanted to place a takeout order. The staff was pretty busy, but I did find it annoying that I had to stand there awkwardly for probably about 5 minutes before someone helped me. The manager floated by once or twice and said that someone would be right over, but I still found it weird to have to go to the bar and wait for someone to be available to get a to-go order. Anyway... once the bartender came over, things improved. She was very friendly and helpful and even offered me a much-appreciated glass of ice water while I waited. I ordered the caprese plate appetizer, which was to be honest, a bit underwhelming. The best thing on the plate was the slices of prosciutto. The tomato was not ripe and we didn't eat it. The burrata was burrata. And I had to ask for bread to go with it, which was provided at no charge (appreciated). But shouldn't something like that come with bread and crackers? I then got the Power Mix salad for lunch. I liked it ore than my husband did I think - the apricots were really a nice addition and I love salads with quinoa in them. But the vinaigrette was SUPER vinegar-y... like to the point where I had to pucker my face when I ate it. And the salad in general was a bit underwhelming. But it was a lunch. I will say the pizza did look good so I wouldn't be opposed to trying it again. I think the things we ordered were just not the best things on the menu. read more

Gentleman in the kitchen actually gave me a sample of the soup before I ordered it. Service was extraordinary. We were on a high top by the kitchen and were able to observe the kitchen staff. They were very efficient in food preparation and presentation. Orders were filled quickly and looked delicious. The pizzas looked incredible. Pizza was ok but before we could even order it starts with the hostess. The front hostess with red hair was so rude!!! We simply went there to order a pizza for our drive and she was so rude! Telling us that we couldn't order food and how we must do it via the app. What if someone doesn't have a phone? I have done this in the past were I order from the bar; never an issue until today!!! In addition she gave me a hard time about my coffee saying I couldn't bring it into the restaurant to order. I'm sorry but if you have a high energy toddler it's best I order my pizza before she tears the restaurant up. Also feel that if your going to be hard on someone with coffee in there hands seems as if this restaurant owner has some jealousy with there competitors. As a business owner this is not good business. You should be happy people are spending money and that they are trying to do the same at your restaurant but your hostess is grilling them!!!! We almost left! If it was t for my 2yr old wanting pizza we would have! As a business owner I would never have a pushy rude person greeting clients. She didn't know how to stop being so rude!!
