Came to crave because i usually love it. I ordered the usual with the green chili Mac n cheese and the cheese was rotten. It tasted horrible, the waiter not once approached us, until maybe 25 minutes later, when we made them aware of the situation he said he couldn't do anything about because of the time that had passed since i had received my food. Even though it was not my fault at all. I'm very disappointed at how the whole situation was handled, all that was offered to compensate for the horrible flavor and rotten food was water. This was a great place for dinner for 2-4 people. There are tables on the inside for about 30 people. The outside has enough for about the same. When we first entered, we almost walked right into this huge mirror, which was very deceiving. There is another mirror on the opposite that is just the same. I think it's meant to make the place look bigger than it actually is. On our way out, I almost walked into one of the mirrors again. I wouldn't say that the mirrors are bad. It's just a bit confusing. On a Saturday night for dinner, I would have thought this place would be busier. It wasn't. We were seated right way on the inside. Service was quick and great. We had Tuna Ceviche for the appetizer. The tuna was ok. I just never had the ceviche part mixed in with tuna. For the main dish, I had Blackened Shrimp Tacos with grilled asparagus and green chile mac and cheese for the two sides. The shrimp tacos consisted of mini corn tortillas with shrimp, and mildly sweet cabbage slaw and some avocado. I ate the taco with a fork because the tortilla would have fallen apart if I ate it with my hands. There was a lot of filling in the taco. The chile mac and cheese is spicy. I love spicy, but this dish gave me a bit of a sweat. The creaminess of the cheese offset a bit of the heat. Nothing out of the ordinary for the asparagus. Loved all these dishes! For dessert, we had the half-baked cookie with ice cream. After all the food, I only ate maybe half of this. The cookie was soft and gooey from the chocolate. It's a normal chocolate chip cookie baked in a mini cast iron pan. Vanilla ice cream on the top wasn't too sweet. Overall this restaurant has great food and great service. Love the food and the hamburgers. Brunch is on the spot. Parking is sometimes an issue especially on Sunday Mornings after the churches get out and half off burger day. If I had to think of one single thing that I didn't love about my experience at Crave Kitchen, it would be that I had to travel all the way to El Paso, TX to find this little gem! First of all, it's everything that Instagram dreams are made of! The restaurant is stylish and small, and was packed full of people with happy taste buds when I stopped in for lunch. I was able to get seated right away at the bar. The service was consistent and friendly. I paired my menu perusing with a coconut iced tea. This was obviously a good decision. After scrolling through Yelp photos I knew that the Chili Mac & Cheese was a must. After stalking the plates of those that were eating, I quickly realized that the portion size was no joke. I asked the server if I could alter one of the menu options in the name of making it smaller and she didn't even hesitate. I ordered the Chile chicken and waffle without the waffle. To make up for the lack of carbs, I ordered chile mac & cheese as a side and to make myself feel better about my life decisions ordered a side salad as my second side. The chile mac & cheese was legit the best that I've ever eaten. Licking the bowl clean once I found the bottom of it wasn't far from my mind. It was creamy and spicy and magical. My chicken was a green chile stuffed with cheese, wrapped in chicken, breaded and deep fried. Reread that. Now imagine that beauty. Whatever you've conjured up, it was better! No qualms with this sandwich whatsoever. When it was brought to me I thought I would hate the mayo put on it considering I'm not a huge mayo fan. But it definitely brought the whole thing together. From the eggs to the spinach to the tomatoes to the perfectly toasted ciabatta bread it all came together nicely. The meal came with one side which I opted to order the blueberry pancakes. Pure bliss. The fact that I didn't even touch the syrup is a testament to how amazing these pancakes were. I'd come back for those pancakes alone! Did I mention they serve mimosas? And to top it off theyll even put pineapple juice in the mix. Which is how I love my mimosas. The key to any man's heart is a mimosa in the morning to keep the buzz going. Be warned, this beautiful thing doesn't come without a price. And at 5 dollars a pop I'd say that's the only issue I have. Then again we get paid for a.reason right? And let's be honest. They say that if you have a small space, adding mirrors will open it up. This place took that concept a bit too far. The place here really is tiny, but upon entering, on both your right and left are mirrored walls. I almost walked in to a mirror in my attempt to go to the dining area. Again, in the back near the restrooms, there are more mirrors and I again almost walled into the mirror. It may have been that I had only arrived in El Paso after many hours of driving from Houston, but still, the mirrors were annoying. As for the restaurant itself, I can't really figure out what this place is. It seems like a breakfast type place, but it serves beer. Scanning the menu, I couldn't categorize this place in my mind - would I go here for lunch, brunch, or for drinks on some random night? But I was hungry, tired, and this place was open late with good reviews. I had the chicken and waffles with their green chili mac & cheese and a Mexican corn side. The chicken and waffles were passable although nothing to rave about. For me, it was the sides that were rave-worthy. I don't understand how I've lived over 30 years and never had green chili mac & cheese. It was so wonderful. I could eat that stuff all day. And the Mexican corn side?!? Delicious. I live in California so am no stranger to Mexican cuisine, but I've never seen anything like that offered up in California. Both very simple dishes but I was completely taken by them. Also worth noting was the manager that evening. A really nice guy who provided very attentive service. It was odd though, because the level of service he provided is the sort you expect at a fine dining establishment - "of course sir," "right away sir", "my pleasure sir", etc... - but at this, a dive-y, neighborhood joint, it was kind of off putting at first. Like I just wanted to eat, but he was so attentive and nice that he demanded to be acknowledged. You can't just nod to someone like that, you have to engage them. I'm not complaining - he gave excellent service - I'm just commenting on the cognitive dissonance I experienced in getting such high service in a place I don't expect it. Anyways, despite it being so small - I don't think I'd like eating here when it's crowded - I did enjoy the food and the experience. If I lived in El Paso, I think I'd come here with some regularity. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE. My stay in El Paso was only for 3 days and I came here for breakfast 2 out of those 3 days. Th breakfast was bomb. Get the Haystack! It comes with crispy hash browns (I get mine super crispy) topped with two eggs with bacon AND sausage AND you get to choose a side! All for $7.50. I got the short stack and it was DELICIOUS. SO GOOD. The pancakes are not cooked all the way... but the middle seems like a custard or some type. I can't really put my finger on it... but it was still delicious. Absolutely, positively. Madly, deeply. In love with Crave. Seriously, I love this place so hard! If you want a true El Paso foodie experience with local flavors, Crave is the place you need to go. Personally I prefer this Crave because I appreciate small places doing big things, but if you like your elbow room then maybe the other location is for you. I will admit, the very first time I walked into this Crave I did almost run into the floor to wall mirrors. Twice. But in my defense, the mirrors are on both sides and it was at night when Crave dims the lights. Hey, someone had the right idea...mirrors really open up a room. Every time I go to Crave, I spend a good 10-15 minutes staring at the silverware hanging from the ceiling. I always have this Final Destination clairvoyance moment where I see everyone being attacked by these silver hanging forks. But the angle is all wrong for that to even happen. Unless there was an earthquake. No, in all seriousness, it's all legit safe and is probably one of my favorite pieces of kitchen art I've ever seen. So far my favorite thing I've gotten at Crave is probably the Tuna Ceviche, mostly because of my weakness for fresh tuna (seared will forever be my preference, but I'll take it anyway I can get it). It's super simple, but the lemon flavors on the tuna is perfect. And although I try to steer clear of anything with bird in it (chicken, duck, turkey...and it may be necessary to go as far as saying pigeon) once in a while I'll venture to the dark side of the proteins and order a bird dish. The last time it snowed here in EP I dragged my dad to Crave and we both ordered, among other things, the Turkey and White Bean Chili. Touchè Crave. Loved it. The beans are in equal abundance to the bits of ground turkey and the honey biscuit on the side is a great addition to a well-known dish. As you've probably already read, the Mac 'n Cheese is phenom so just order it already. For you southern Roscoe's lovers, Crave has you covered...it's one of the only places in El Paso (that I know of) where you can order Chicken and Waffles. And if you make it to dessert, try the Pot Brownie. You can't go wrong with anything covered in caramel. Also worth noting, (to my knowledge) there is not actually pot in the brownie...it's just a name. I've never had awful service here, but it still is a department that could improve. Most days everyone is pretty attentive, but I've had slow service before. As long as they have a smile it isn't too upsetting. On the wintery day I went with my dad, our waitress actually spent about 10 mins just helping him navigate the menu and choose what he wanted. I love Crave. Crave is SO good! The restaurant is trendy and comfortable. They don't have much out door seating or parking for that matter, but if you're a crave fan like me you'll find a way! I used to without fail go for the chicken and waffles because that's a rare sighting in El Paso, the full order is HUGE, and comes with two sides... So come with an appetite. You never fail with the sweet potato fries and the green chile Mac and cheese. SERIOUSLY, try the green chile Mac and cheese! This trip I opted for the grilled mahi tacos which are also AMAZING. Depending what you are in the mood for! Now for dessert.... The barely baked cookie is the BEST. Trust me you want to go for this one. The barely baked cookie is served piping hot with slightly toasted edges and a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. It's AMAZING. My first trip to El Paso and came here from a recommendation. Ambiance: Nice little spot with outside and bar seating. I came alone and sat at the bar. The service was extremely slow at the bar and that's why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5. Food: Spectacular! I ordered the crispy artichokes with aioli to start. The artichokes were lightly fried and not over-battered so you can still taste the artichokes. Nicely done! I also ordered their award winning burger The Mac Jammer with sweet potato waffle fries. I requested the burger to be cooked medium and it was cooked to perfection. The combination of the cabbage slaw with the lightly fried avocado and Mac n cheese sauce made this one of the BEST burgers I've ever head. There were a lot of other toppings on this burger but it wasn't too much and the burger did not fall apart. Waffle sweet potato fries were everything! I'm a sweet potato fry lover but I don't like it thick cut and these were just the right size. Still crispy yet soft. They came with this delicious cinnamon dipping sauce that was sent from heaven. Yelp directed me here and yelp did not disappoint. I used the tips on the establishments size to determine an early arrival (8am) on a Sunday morning. Parking was simple. I sat at the bar (dining alone at a table doesn't work for me) and received exceptional service. My coffee was hot and freshly made. The cucumber mint agua fresca was refreshing and offered unlimited refills! I ordered a half order of sauced chicken and waffles. Sauced means your chicken is covered in buffalo sauce. It was tasty with the syrup. The waffle could've been a bit more crisp but really it doesn't matter. So you get a side with your breakfast. This includes anything from cottage cheese to a short stack to homefries. My waiter recommended blueberry short stack with lemon curd. Yum! A sweet side to my savory meal. 3 decent sized pancakes as a side to a big waffle and fried chicken breast. This was a TON of food. Wheel me out please. The bill was 15 bucks. WoW. The beer selection is pretty extensive, but not priced well. Some beers are wayyy too expensive and some are pretty cheap..its a boon for those of us who know beer. The food is very contemporary and the atmosphere matches. But like most newer establishments, they decorate like they never have to clean it. Seriously, any wine glass above reach behind the bar is covered in dust. The beer tap handles are gross. Add to that the jackass sitting next to us with his pretentious wine-snobbery with his Benz keys so prominently displayed on the bar, it was enough to make me want to roll my eyes and hiss...oh wait, I did. And for the record he drove a C-class...the Honda of Mercedes. Either way, if you can get past the pretentiousness of the typical clientele you will have a decent time. Granted you get a seat promptly. And your wait-person didn't get a new piercing recently and/or didn't feel the need to discuss it at length with cow-orkers.
