I lived in East Asia for 3 years, so I know authentic Asian cuisine. The food here is authentic, it's not Americanized at all. The dumplings and fried chicken bun tasted like they were from Taiwanese night market. The ramen tasted like I was eating at a food stall in Hong Kong. I ordered beef pho today and summer rolls. I am not sure but my order only had few pieces of beef. I was also expecting to taste a deep beefy flavor on the soup like the one I had a few months ago. I was expecting a lot of beef at least because it costs around $12, which is quite expensive around the area. The summer rolls are good and it tastes great with the peanut sauce. This was delicious. I've had ramen just about everywhere outside of Michigan and was worried this would not compare. It did in fact exceed my expectations. The spicy miso ramen, added extra spice, was warm, hearty and delicious. Not too salty which is nice, but the pork belly? AMAZING. It's thick and cooked to perfect. The flavorful broth mixed with the pork, bok choy, egg and noodles is exactly what you are looking for in traditional ramen dishes. Definitely recommend. We wanted to stop for lunch on the way to Ann Arbor and thank goodness this came up on the list of top places. First off this is inside Pacific Rim Foods so make sure you look out for the Asian Market when you're driving around. This is such a hidden gem. I got the special poke bowl with fresh sushi grade salmon and tuna - it has spiralized cucumber which I've literally never seen before in a poke bowl (and I live in Chicago which has tons of poke). The miso soup was INCREDIBLE (!!!!) - the flavor and sweet taste was probably the best I've had. We also ordered the noodles and chicken, which had a little bit of spice but good and plenty of food for $9. I would definitely go back, especially to get some authentic boba tea. read more

Stopped in with some friends after a recommendation to check this place out and we were not disappointed. The menu is pretty small but diverse and they have different specials every day. My husband and I shared the beef brisket ramen and 2 spicy beef egg rolls. The egg rolls were DELICIOUS! Easily some of the best I've ever had. Perfectly crunchy and moist, though not real spicy in my opinion. The ramen bowl was HUGE and was plenty to fill both of us up. The cashier was nice to inform me that the brisket they serve is a traditional beef that has the tendon still attached so it is a little chewier than we are accustomed to. I appreciated her letting me know that before I solidified my choice, but I still went ahead and got it. It does look a little different, but was super tender and I didn't notice anything but a slight slight difference in texture. Lots of noodles, and the broth was so good we finished it all with a spoon. Will definitely be back to try the potstickers and maybe the spicy ramen bowl! The staff was all unbelievably kind and the food came out in a timely manner. Plentiful seating even if you have a large group! And you can browse around the grocery store while you wait for your food to be ready. read more

I had never tried this place, but I am very glad that I did. We ordered egg rolls, the mushroom stir fry and the spicy ramen, curbside. Holy pork belly Batman! That was the best Ramen I've had in a long time. The egg the noodles the broth the nori and the perfectly prepared pork belly! Kids had the scallion pancake beef wraps and summer rolls. And the coconut bubble tea. My wife had the spicy miso ramen with chicken. Great flavor and heat! Xian used to teach cooking classes in the oakwood community center and now brings he culinary chops to the cravings deli. Aptly names I will be craving this meal for weeks to come! The ramen here is outstanding; definitely the best in town. Dumplings are tasty and made in-house, as are nearly all the dishes. We have been here 3 times and always have friendly service. This place is very special! Pacific Rim has always been an integral part of the Kalamazoo community & this deli is incredibly tasteful, affordable, and the flavors are to die for. You can find pretty much anything on their menu and you can dine in or carry out. While you're waiting for your food you can shop around the store or find a table in their small food court. The food is prepared with care and precision and it's very very delicious. Review # 100! So Yelp is prone to give me advice, and usually it leads me to fun, exciting new places. This was no exception. Inside of the pacific rim market, which is a really cool place on its own, but the lovely scent of Cravings to the left draws you towards it. I love they kept the little castle from Tot to Teen village. I was sad when they decided to close their doors, so it was an awesome way to immortalize just a small piece of the old store which is now virtually unrecognizable except for that warm nook! I ordered the Chinese/American pork egg rolls and they were phenomenal. My pickiest of picky husband and son both stole bites and they were delighted with the taste. I also ordered the pork ramen, and although the broth wasn't my favorite, the pork belly (wish there was more) and the egg/ramen/bamboo/bok choy were excellent. Just when you think something can't get much better, it does. When Pacific Rim grocery moved from the Oakwood neighborhood, they added the Cravings Deli with a small, but delicious menu. I've been to Xin's cooking classes before, and her attention to detail and deep flavors have not been lost in the transition to a restaurant. We had the Summer Rolls, Beef Pho, and Spicy Miso Ramen with pork belly today. The rolls were perfectly tight, none of the contents spilled when I bit in & it wasn't too tight that it was hard to bite through. The house made peanut sauce was soooo good. The ramen had a kick, but not overpowering. The soft boiled eggs, noodles, veggies, and pork belly were cooked to perfection. As for the pho...forget that other place on Portage Rd, this is where you get real, flavorful, slow cooked pho that warms you from the inside out. Love this place & will be back!
