I've been here 5+ times now. This is one of the best burger spots in North Park hands down! I'm not interested in other meats besides regular angus beef burgers well done. However, like Michael mentioned, my fellow Yelp elite friend, there are so many meats there like camel, alligator, buffalo etc. So if you like trying new things then GO FOR IT!! To start the service is always top tier. I got to try a sample of the Mexican Lager before ordering it. They are friendly and helpful which makes the overall experience rather pleasant. I took lots of photos so obviously this place was a vibe. Now let's get to the good part: THE FOOD! The truffle burger is hands down the best burger on the menu in my opinion if you like truffle fries, truffle oils and sauces. I swear I cried eating the first bite! However, today I ordered the organic burger and added american cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles (no onions). The organic grass fed beef was chef's kiss, but I would have been more impressed with a spicy mayo sauce or ranch sauce with a few more toppings that would pair well with the burger. FYI it is grass-fed, hormone free and antibiotic free. My husband said the Texas burger was delicious. He also got the game day deal: burger, fries, and a beer combo. The fries were crispy and seasoned to perfection. My husband and I shared one order of fries. We ordered the Stone IPA and Mexican Lager with the grand total being $55 with tip. Loved that for us. Anyway we will be back again and again and again. Enjoy!!!
I haven't had Crazee Burger in years, no less at where it currently resides on 30th Street (and its been THERE for quite a long time already! XD). We decided to pop in randomly to see what has been up after all the years. It's a mainstay for a reason! JUICY burgers and crazy good HH from 3:10-6:19 every day. While they are known for their "exotic" meats, I went with a simple signature burger. Pricing was $10 with +$1.50 to add cheese. The brioche bun is baked in-house which is evident. ALL beers were $7 and served in tall 20oz glasses. The owner mans the front and with incredible energy and personality. Hospitable and down to earth. Easy smiles from someone who clearly still loves what he's doing. This was just my random observation as an onlooker. These mainstay businesses are a pillar to their respective communities and deserving of all the support and love!
Crazee Burger in North Park is a flavor explosion--exotic, creative, and downright delicious. My hubby swears it's his #1 burger joint; his venison burger was a game-changer, and my Cajun one slapped just as hard. Only bummer: everything's à la carte--fries and drinks cost extra. Pricey, but worth it!
The Crazee Burger is an awesome spot to try exotic meats like wild boar, alligator, camel, and more! These burgers make it a great experience and the food is genuinely so good, even the regular burgers! Definitely a spot to try even at least once, cause where else are you gonna get exotic burgers?!
Man, what a disappointment. I ordered the burger sliders and I really feel let down by them. The burgers are alright, but after awhile everything just kind of melds together. Everything tastes fresh, but the burgers have minimal standout over the other. Some of the meat is more gamey, some of it more spicy, some more lean. The real trick here is the bun they use, and some of the toppings they use. At least the burgers are well portioned and look pretty. I also got myself a Mexican Coke to ensure the whole product stayed down, which it did. That certainly helped. I would not come back here again alone, as I felt the whole experience was quite expensive and quite frosty in experience.
It's been a while since I came here but man I've missed out. Came here with my buddy and we got a total of 4 burgers! We shared the camel burger, elk burger, alligator, and chubby Charlie. My favorite was the camel burger mannn with their curry sauce on it tasted amazing. My friend's favorite was the elk burger with their red wine sauce. My second favorite was their chubby Charlie bc I love angus and pastrami. Very good. Alligator was also yummy. They have a whole bunch of different sides, and a crazy amount San Diego craft beers ! Restaurant was clean, and the staff was nice helped us pick our items ! I can't wait to come back and try more exotic meats !!
I'm upset I didn't try Crazee Burger sooner! The portions are huge, the food is great, and they have daily specials. We were walking by and noticed they now have a breakfast menu, so of course we had to stop in. We ordered the breakfast burrito and the breakfast sandwich, and neither disappointed. The burrito was super flavorful and even came with potatoes on the side, as if the burrito itself wasn't already enough haha. The salsa wasn't spicy but had great flavor that paired really well with the burrito. The breakfast sandwich was HUGE. I didn't know what to expect, but it definitely exceeded expectations (in the best way). It was ginormous, and the double sausage patty was delicious. I like my sausage a little charred, and it was cooked perfectly. The grilled tomato added great flavor as well. The person who took our order was really helpful and asked if we wanted to modify anything. The place was clean and had TVs to watch. I'll definitely be back to try more of their daily specials!
Wallpapered corner lot grabs your attention but distracts from the actual door you need to go through to enjoy it. Fretted at the front counter with a very friendly staff member. I was excited to see a special option for a concoction of meats called the Beast that includes A-5 Wagyu! We ordered and found a bar that half the party sits outside and the other half sits inside. We only had to wait a few minutes to get our food and was able to get some condiments immediately. The beast was a wonderful mix of meats and very flavorful grilled onions. I poured the sauce on each bite to make it extra amazing. Crack of Dawn burger was HUGE, only half was consumed. Nopal burger was juicy but I did get a bitter bite of lettuce stem...yuck. Wed definitely get this creamy burger again. Turkey burger with gluten free bread was fantastic but too many onions. Amazing amount of avocado...an entire half!!!! Fried have a dusting of Parmesan that makes them simply amazing. The owner/cook checked in on us mid-meal to see if we needed anything else. We looked up at him with juices flowing out of our burgers...nah, we're great! I'll be back to fill that punchcard!!!
Very welcoming atmosphere! I love the inside of the restaurant, they have plenty of tables inside and outside. Service was fast! I loved the different burger options. They have a lot of exotic options like Elk, alligator, wagyu and a lot more. I just got a regular burger with blue cheese and it was sooo good!! They had a lot of beer options which i appreciated too. Theres street parking around the restaurant and the bathroom is located outside. I would definitely come back!
The best reason to go here are the exotic meats they serve in burger form. Their beef burgers are quite good but not life changing. Their fries and bratwurst are very good too. They use to have the best happy hour in the city with incredible deals, but now with Trumponomics, prices are on par with everywhere else. They have a good selection of beers, $7 for 16oz and $8 for 22oz on happy hour.

Food was super tasty!! We tried the exotic burger flight, with boar, gator, and ostrich, and they didn't disappoint! They were also filling for the size :) polish sausage and fries were also bomb. I wish I would have tried more! read more

I haven't been to this new location, though it's been here for a while; always had good luck with burgers and beer before and this was just as good as ever. Staff was friendly. Restroom was clean and usable. I had the burger loaded with melted bleu cheese, I forget the name, and a hazy IPA. Enjoyed both a lot. Will be back. Good luck finding parking around here in the evenings. read more

This is the place to come if you love exotic meats! This is probably the only place to come in San Diego if you want to try Ostrich, Water Buffalo, Antelope, or Camel. They also have A5 Wagyu, Elk, and Buffalo (which is maybe Bison?) . They must not have kangaroo, which I had gotten from them years ago. The Camel came with a slightly spicy Moroccan hollandaise sauce, and the usual lettuce, tomato, onions, and pickles (no tomato please!). Camel meat is very lean, and a fine texture. I ordered medium, because the staff member felt that it would be too mushy if it was cooked med rare. It was delicious, and my friend enjoyed her Santorini burger as well. She also enjoyed her Nutella Mocha shake. All of their shakes are made with McConnell's Ice Cream, which is based in the Central Coast. It's one of the best premium ice creams in California. Keep an eye on their daily specials, which add a drink and fries to a specific burger for just a few dollars more. They also have HH specials from 3:10 to 6:19, lol. It's North Park, so you're on your own for parking. Just be prepared to walk some blocks if it's a busy time of day. It's worth it, so get your steps in! read more
Burger choices for everyone - even for your vegan friends. Want to try an exotic meat for under $20 - they have Boar, Alligator, Camel, Ostrich, and several others. The Wagyu will set you back a little more and they have an extensive beer menu will also put you over the budget. I would be remiss if I did not mention the sauces... each of the burgers seems to have their own special sauce. Parking is harsh, but to be expected in North Park. Decor is cute with beer keg stools. Patio dining available because it is in Sun Diego! Staff seemed friendly enough to make me want to come back. read more
Delivery Review: Walk by this place very often, but have never tried it. Uber Eats had high reviews just like Yelp. You know you see it cause of its colorful exterior and plenty of outdoor seating. We ordered two burgers and sidewinders/crazee fries. They do their burgers well. Signature burger was plain and I didn't realize it didn't come with cheese. Luckily, we had a slice of cheddar and just added it. Great seasoning with the patty. Also ordered the Chubby Charlie which was so dang messy to eat. But it was worth it. Ate half of that and was full. Both burgers came with lettuce, lots of onions, tomato, and pickles. Sadly, the highly reviewed crazee fries had no Parmesan on them so that was a little disappointing. The sidewinders were good, but not a replacement for a curly fry if that's what you're craving. I ordered a side of ranch and regret it. There was no flavor and I couldn't understand what it tasted like. It wasn't pure mayo but it did not taste good. The horseradish was for the CC burger which was good. They also provided 3 extra sauces. Nacho cheese, can't go wrong there and two containers of this brown/gray sauce that tasted like salad dressing. I don't know if that was put in our bag by mistake. It tasted good, but was just confused on what it was supposed to be used for. Other than that, food came fast and was still warm. Packaged nicely and they gave a lot of napkins and condiments - packets of may, ketchup, mustard, and relish. Lunchtime! Their eclectic design caught my attention. Here was my experience. AMBIANCE: Parking: Welcome to North Park! Parking is a bit rough so I recommend public transportation or carpooling. Other than that, there's metered parking, neighborhood parking or a parking structure. Seating: Inside seating and outside patio seating. Room for about 50 people. Vibes: North Park is great! Plenty of eateries and things to do (barcade, study, farmer's market on Thursdays). The place itself is quite a site. It's quite the eclectic place as decorations ranged from kegs to a wall of gas masks. I dig the throwback 80s music and funk music in the background. If you're a sports person, they have a few televisions playing if you want to watch a game. It's a nice well-rounded place welcoming families to foodies. FOOD: Nopal Burger (Recommend) Nopal is a cactus if you're wondering. It reminds me of all the elements of the southwest from the queso fresco, avocado, Mexican crema, raw onions, homemade green tomatillo, a griled nopal patty, and charred Angus beef. I dig the spice and the savory flavors. Complemented with fries and you're in for a wholesome meal and what's cool is that you have the choice to mix and match. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Great! There are not too many places you can go to find ostrich, water buffalo, alligator and many more exotic meats on the menu. Not to mention a huge assortment of toppings. Service: outstanding, very friendly, accommodating for those with specific dietary restrictions (a gluten free bun that literally looked exactly like a normal bun). Product: delicious, super fresh toppings like lettuce tomato pickle and whatever else you could possibly dream of. Price: a slam dunk - super reasonable. Portion sizes are very generous. Everything is fresh. Highly recommend a stop next time you are in North Park! This place is off the rails!!! Advice: if you want it, just ask them! Crazee Burger is a great chance to try unfamiliar types of meat without traveling outside America's Finest City. I've ordered their exotic slider platter, which are sizable portions, enough for a main entree. Each burger features not only an atypical meat, but also artisanal toppings & sauces that balance the characteristics of the meat. I like that you are able to mix & match sliders, although modifications aren't permitted for the sliders. If you hone in on a burger that you love enough to try the full-sized version, maybe that's the time to start introducing changes. The restaurant has a decent amount of seating (between their bar, dining, and patio areas) but might be tough for larger groups depending on the time of day. No private parking, but lots of residential streets nearby or about a 5-10min walk north from the North Park Parking Garage on 29th St. Crazee Burger is San Diego's spot for unique and delicious burgers. I'm looking forward to my next Venison burger! read more
I had a real good burger from here over the weekend. The Texas Burger (with an extra patty) was delicious. Thick slices of bacon were good, but I thought they could have been cooked a little more. The burger came with all the fixings and a healthy layer of BBQ sauce. The patty was bomb packed with flavor. I'm very excited to be coming back to try one of the more exotic meats. I was told that the camel is very popular if you are wanting to try something exotic. Their fries are also very good. We ordered a side of 1/2 regular 1/2 sweet potato. Thing and crispy fries. They had a good size beer selection with some of my favorites. For reference, I paid just over $50 for two burgers, two beers, and a side of fries. IMO burgers should ALWAYS come with fries. I'll definitely be back and am looking forward to trying one of the exotic meats! read more

Fabulous and unusual burger joint in North Park area of San Diego!!! Located on the street corner this beer plus burger restaurant has it almost all! Good location, great menu, delicious food, and lots of beers on tap!!! Crazee Burger is known obviously for its burgers!!! Besides the many choices of regular burgers, exotic fare burgers are what they are known for: boar, camel, alligator, ostrich etc etc.... Service is typical order at the counter, and ambiance of a bar or a fast food restaurant with non generic interior!! Burgers are hands down awesome!!! The only complaint I have is with service. After ordering double patty alligator burger for almost $30 I asked if there is a proof that it is indeed an alligator and not something else. I was told, there is no proof and if I don't like it to leave....well I stayed but still...why ruin a fabulous dinning experience with bad customer service... read more

I have been here a few times as I live close by and it's a great place! However, the burgers are a hit or miss for me, especially when looking at the exotic meat burgers. My favorite from their regular burgers is the Nopal Burger. I just think it's packed with flavor, but it's not overwhelming whatsoever. As for the exotic meat burgers, so far I have tried five of them: Camel, Ostrich, Alligator, Venison and Wild Boar. I really liked the venison and wild boar. The ostrich wasn't bad, but I wouldn't order that on a regular basis. I didn't like the camel or alligator pretty much at all as they were kind of bland. However, I am still planning on trying more of the exotic meats. I really don't like their sweet potato fries. I have gotten them a couple times and they are always really soft and the flavor is weird. However, I love their regular fries! Whatever seasoning they use is perfect. The onion rings are okay. Not terrible, but not something I would order more than the one time I tried them. I really like this place and will definitely continue coming back over and over again. read more

I went here after an improv rehearsal on a Saturday around noon and it wasn't packed, but started to fill up. Looked like a mom and her son were running the restaurant and they were so friendly. They ran out of Dr.Pepper and brought a new one to my table which was sweet. You order at the front which is easy. I had a breakfast burger which was MASSIVE. Had a hash brown, thick maple bacon, a runny egg, juicy patty, and all the fixings of a traditional burger with crispy thin fries. They put parmesan on the fries and cheese on the burger, but asked for them to hold those since I'm allergic. They had TVs to watch the games and plenty of seating. They have an outdoor area which is great for people watching along with an all gender bathroom out side. Crazee Burger is right next to Saigon Coffee(which is mega popular) and saw a lot of people grab coffee and then come here to eat. Really cool neighborhood. I think the only thing I would change is the booths were all wood and a little uncomfortable to sit in, but I also have no butt so that might just be a me problem haha. read more

We stumbled across Crazee Burger on our way back home after a week-long trip to SD. Our order: -Triple wagyu burger with bacon, pastrami, lettuce, tomato, avocado, and onion strings. -Crack of Dawn -3 sliders Gator, Elk, Venison EVERYTHING was absolutely exceptional. Believe it or not, the sliders and wagyu burger were just for me, and I left maybe 1 bite of the burger left. Don't come here if you're looking for a cheap meal. If you want quality and taste, come here. No complaints about our price tag as I made modifications to the meal. Worth every damn penny! Friendly staff, nice open air and indoor seating. Burgers were all tasty. We tried the three sliders: wild boar, antelope and camel. They all tasted pretty similar to beef, not gamey at all. Great toppings on each burger too! I'd definitely eat here again. read more

Not very often you are eating a burger with whipped cream on it but it was really good! The combo of wine poached pears with the burger was really good. The burgers are pretty big and they have a good happy hour deal. Grab a beer and some frings and you'll be set! read more
Burger was solid and fries were delicious! They have quite a few specialty burgers but I happened to come during happy hour so tried the specialty. Overall good but add some sauce and it could be something special. The fries however were delish! Cool place to hang out, dog friendly patio! read more

Me and the wife brought my son here for his birthday. The parking situation was not good at all. I know that's not their fault. Unfortunately, it does factor into the overall experience. Customer service was great. We ordered 2 of the big exotic slider platters. That's 12 Sliders, one of each kind. The cashier mentioned they just started offering the Wagyu beef slider as an option. So that was the twelfth. Most of the Sliders were pretty tasty. I would say that the negative is the thick and dense bun. A thinner bun would let you taste the meat better. Or maybe they can put the sauces on the side. Some of them were hard to taste the actual exotic meat. The top two Sliders were the Camel and the Alligator. The camel has a tasty curry on top. Very good combo. The Alligator was a great surprise. I figured it would some kind of Cajon style burger. Nope. It has this delicious sweet sauce instead. I would get either one as a full burger. By far, the worst one was the Turduken slider. That Horseradish cranberry sauce on the poultry was terrible. That combination doesn't work well. There was also 2 Sliders that had whipped cream on them, I was not a fan of that either. Overall, I would come back. Maybe I'll try the prime rib sandwich next time. Came on a Thursday and got their combo deal, every day of the week a different burger is featured. On Thursday it was the Cajun Burger and fries ($12.99) It comes with sautéed onions a blackened patty and chipotle sauce. It's not a bad deal, but the burger didn't really come together for me. I thought the patty was a little over done, the bread seemed a bit dry and i wish the sautéed onions were freshly grilled onions instead of pre caramelized onions. The meat is ground angus from trimmings of sirloin, chuck roll, brisket, short rib, and NY strip. It's made with the trim of many different types of quality meats, but i think that leads to inconsistency, If you have a ratio of specific meats that you like, i think that leads to a more consistent product rather than whatever trim is available that day. Maybe i should tried one of their exotic meats instead which they are known for, ive liked the elk burger in the past, I'd like to try the Camel next time. The friday and saturday combo deals also look pretty good; Texas burger and Crack of Dawn Burger sound good too. They have a good beer selection, and the space has both inside seating and a covered enclosed outdoor patio which was really nice. This place is my go to for a turkey burger, however with that being said all options on the menu are glorious. They have good beer as well. Sometimes have a rotating tap which is nice to have. The process of ordering is walk up to counter and get a number very efficient service. It is conveniently located at the beginning of your pub crawl if you so choose to start and work southward to the other great drinking spots! read more

This burger joint on North Park was on my list of burger restaurants to try in San Diego area and it did not disappoint. You have to order your food and drink first at the counter and then sit on indoor or outdoor dining area. The atmosphere is nice and clean and the staff were friendly. I ordered a Crack of Dawn burger and all the ingredients including buns were fresh and tasty. Their ranch and blue cheese are really good too. I usually prefer greasy burgers and their burgers are not greasy but I still enjoyed it. They also have exotic meats like buffalo, camel, wild boar and many others and will definitely gonna try them out next time. Parking can be little tough and you may need to walk couple blocks. I'd recommend to try this burger joint if you are in the North Park. read more
My boyfriend and I tried this place for the first time over the weekend. He got the A5 wagyu burger and I ordered the Venison burger. Both were very juicy and tender! I thought the fries were a bit too salty and their onion rings were just ok-- nothing too special. I would definitely come back to try some of their other burgers in the future. The atmosphere is very laid back-- perfect for happy hour! Parking can be very challenging so just be prepared for a bit of walking. read more
This place was a hole-in-the wall place and gave off bar vibes. They had plastic cups and a large water dispenser available to the guests. I ordered an exotic slider platter. The sliders themselves were pretty small. I sat outside and that was my biggest regret because flies were swarming everywhere and constantly interfering with my eating. I tried gator, buffalo, elk, camel, boar, and venison. The bread for each slider was sweet, it reminded me of the Hawaiian buns. The gator slider was a bit sweet and the meat was very crumbly. Buffalo was pretty beefy and gamey. The horseradish compliments the buffalo very well. Elk was dry and firm. It felt very lean and not fatty at all. Camel had some fat to it, and a really good flavor. Out of all the meats, camel is my favorite. Both the boar and the venison sliders had a lot of things in it (relative to the others). They had a plum jelly which tasted really good. Boar is juicy, but gamey and tough. Venison is pretty dry and gamey. It also had a funky aftertaste. The texture of venison reminded me of ground turkey. 6 sliders was enough to make me full, whereas 3 wouldn't. Overall this is a really cool place to eat at and allows you to try some exotic meats that are otherwise hard to get. I would definitely recommend checking it out! read more
I had the signature burger with Swiss cheese and sidewinder fries. The burger was good. Ingredients were fresh and tasty. But it was lacking a little bit in flavor. To address that I ordered a few extra sides of sauce. The diablo was quite spicy but did the job. The tzatziki I think was the other sauce I got and that was also good. They also gave me a side of nacho cheese for free but personally that's not my thing so I didn't try it with my burger. The sidewinder fries which are pretty much curly potato wedges were definitely some of the best fries I have had in San Diego. Very unique and well executed. One criticism- with so many different meat options here I am surprised that they don't offer anything halal. Unfortunately some of my friends missed out on eating here because of that. Service and ambiance were typical of a casual restaurant in North Park. I'd come back! read more

Had the salmon burger with fries and onion rings. It was delicious and the serving size is massive, so prepare for that. There was so much salmon on my burger that I couldn't even pick it up without stuff falling off. The ambiance has a college town feel and there's lots to look at inside lol read more

Food: This is the place to go for exotic burgers - ostrich, alligator, camel, and boar were the options, among many, that we tried. For sure, we liked the boar burger the most - cooked well and dressed appropriately. We also enjoyed the alligator slider. The other sliders were a bit over cooked and the dressing seemed to overpower the flavor of the meat. For the price, get the full-sized burgers over sliders, unless you really want to variety, Service: Friendly staff, were very accommodating and provided all that we needed. Definitely pleased by their service! Atmosphere: Saturday lunch was slow so plenty of seating indoor and outdoor. Nice and simple aesthetic decorate the interior. I have visited Crazee Burger on multiple occasions over the past decade including their original, smaller location further north on 30th St. The owners have spent resources to improve the interior decor of their current space at the intersection with Lincoln Ave. Available street parking in this busy area of the neighborhood is as challenging as ever. The multilevel structure (North Park Garage) a few blocks south is not a bad option as the rate is $1 per hour at non-peak times. The big draw of this bar and grill is the Exotic Fare which features 11 choices of non-traditional meat served as a burger or slider. The options include wild boar, buffalo, water buffalo, alligator, elk, camel, antelope, venison, ostrich, Santorini (half lamb, half beef), and turducken (turkey, duck, chicken). Most of the full size burgers cost $13.49 with the alligator being $1 more expensive and the Santorini and turducken being $1.50 to $2.50 less. Sliders are sold in quantities of three or six with each one containing a 2 oz patty of exotic meat. There were 16 choices of Crazee Burgers, each of which has some unique combinations of toppings and sauces. The (Extra) Ordinary Fare offers salmon, veggie, ribeye, chicken, turkey, kobe beef, sausage, pastrami, and portabella mushroom as the protein for a burger. Salads, soups, chili, a hot dog, fries, onion rings, and crazee (chicken) wings rounded out the other main menu selections. A combo for each day of the week listed a different burger or sandwich paired with a fountain drink at a discounted price. Happy Hour specials run from 3:10 to 6:19 pm every day, seven days a week. The odd times represent an area code in LA and SD respectively. Milkshakes and items for kids are also available. If you ask, I bet you they can even prepare something for pups as the venue is dog friendly. On recent separate visits, I ordered the Signature Burger at the happy hour price and two trios of exotic fare sliders ($15.49 each). My protein choices were alligator, antelope, ostrich, wild boar, venison, and turducken. The burger contained a fresh ground, premium angus beef patty with lettuce, tomato, and pickle chips. The special deal was $1.50 less than the regular price. These were the toppings for each of the sliders. * Alligator - dried fruit curry chutney * Antelope - mae ploy cilantro cream * Ostrich - lemon chive cream sauce * Wild boar - poached red wine pear, mushrooms, bacon, whipped cream, and plum jelly * Venison - poached red wine pear, mushrooms, bacon, whipped cream, and plum jelly * Turducken - creamy cranberry horseradish sauce I didn't realize until afterward that the same set of toppings was added to the wild boar and venison. The alligator had the best flavor because of the curry. None of the patties had a particularly gamey taste. The creams and sauces did mask whatever off-putting flavor that the meats had. The sliders are the best way to get a sample of multiple types of meat without committing to an entire full serving. The fact that Crazee Burger can still source such a variety of exotic fare under supply chain constraints is impressive. And to do so in the face of record inflation without raising their prices sky high is even more remarkable. read more
