I've been to this little gem many times for dinner in the past. It was in my regular rotation when I was in my 20s for the simple reason that it was one of the few byob places where my friends and I could afford a night out for delicious dinner AND drinks. It was also one of the first spots to provide vegan / veggie options on the RI restaurant scene, as I recall. I loved the Luna sea burger... ground salmon wrapped in a lovely, crispy phyllo packet. Yum. Well... I'm way past my 20s and it's still BYOB and the food is still delicious. I hopped in here for a first for me here - breakfast! It was only ten in the morning, but it was five o'clock somewhere. There were cocktails flowing at most of the tables. There's now a corkage fee of five bucks a table (three if you're solo). Totally reasonable for the simple reason that they get the glasses for you and hey... it's still a bargain to drink your beverage of choice. On to the food. I had a dining companion who got the eggs Bernadette (thank goodness because that's what I WANTED ) and I got an egg white omelet with Brie, spinach and mushroom. The omelet was great but the real star was Bernadette. Poached eggs on crispy house corned beef hash finished with a delicate, lemony hollandaise blanket. I'm a hollandaise snob and it was fantastic. The corned beef hash was crispy and lean and oh so flavorful. A tad spicy but not over the top. We both had breakfast potatoes which were fluffy, crispy cubes of taters that tasted great with the house made ketchup. I adore the not too sweet, fresh concoction that really tastes like fresh tomatoes and cinnamon (?). I also enjoyed a fresh squeezed Orange juice. There were plenty of smoothies coming out of the kitchen as well. Great mix of customers. Young, old, hipster, prepster and in between. Equality rules here. They are one of the first places I remember seeing a rainbow sticker proudly affixed in the front door back in the day. Got kids? Bring 'em. Kid-friendly with lots of babies and kiddos in high chairs hanging out living their best life. There's a counter if you want to go solo. This spot still has me twenty years later with it's eclectic decor ,welcoming charm, tasty food and excellent service. It's stood the test of time for sure. Laura and I ordered takeout today. I had fond memories of this place as I regularly took my elderly parents here for Saturday lunch. They used to serve a Jalapeño burger that my father and I would order consistently. It always hit the spot. Well my Papi has moved on to the next realm and so has a good juicy burger of my memories at Crazy burger. They no longer offer the Jalapeño burger and I ordered the Cajun burger. Purported to have "Cajun spice" It was in my humble opinion a plain burger with caramelized onions and very relatively bland salsa looking stuff. The burger was cooked well done. The best thing about my burger was the sweet potato fries. Laura's burger was according to her meh. Unfortunately I will likely pass on why used to be a good burger joint for me when in Narragansett. Who would have thought that this would be the only place near Narragansett beach that is not (1) extremely busy, (2) far away, or (3) excessively pricey. This establishment was an ecletic mix of a 70s diner and a 2013 artsy pinterest girl discovering tumblr (fairy lights, disco ball, and all). The owners and servers were all super accomodating for our group of 9 people, and they were very kind. Unfortunately, the food wasn't up to our standards. I asked for my burger to be well cooked, but instead I got a (very) burned burger, with no (or relatively little) seasoning. I wish I could say that the fries made the dish worth it (but those also lacked in flavor). I wouldn't go out of my way to return, but I also wouldn't go out of my way to avoid this place either. read more

Stopped in during RI Food Fight for their burger. This is a cool little eclectic looking place with a great looking menu. Pretty wide variety of breakfast and lunch items. My wife ordered the Moo Moo Melt without the onions. I tried her burger and thought it was okay, but would have loved to have had it with the caramelized onions on it. I think that would have added a lot. I went with the Loco Burger which was also okay. I thought the burger was cooked properly. The idea of the loco burger was great, but it missed the mark for me. I will give their Arnold Palmer high marks. I thought the drink as a whole was the best part of the meal. I have had a ton of people strongly recommend this place, so I will definitely give it another shot. Years after last visiting this area, I decided, at the request of my parents, who had been to crazy burger before, to try it out. Despite being small in size, the inside seating area is nice. The staff is friendly, but the food took a good amount of time to get served. I was happy with their plant-based selection, and decided to order their wild and crazy mushroom burger. I didn't know quite what to expect since I had never had anything like this concoction of a burger, and I was even further surprised when it was brought out. It didn't look entirely appetizing, but It tasted incredible. The burger tasted like a Thanksgiving meal, with some amazing tasting gravy and cranberry coulis. I also ordered a vegan milkshake, which was definitely one of the better milkshakes that I have had. My friend recommended this place. I thought it was fairly good, but nothing special. Ordered the Luna Sea burger, since it was popular on Yelp. I actually did not like this much. First of all, the salmon patty was not very flavorful. The salmon patties from Costco are a lot better. Second of all, I didn't think that the "skin" that they use was very good. It was a little too dry, and didn't even stick to the patty. A traditional bun would have been better. Tried some of my wife's curry turkey burger, which was a bit better, but again not very flavorful. Service was very friendly. Get takeout from crazy burger the other day. They had a really covid-friendly takeout model. I got the Birdie Mae vegan burger as well as a vegan strawberry shake. The burger was ok... it was in a wrap instead of a burger bun and was really dense for my taste. But I didn't hate it! This is not our first time coming here. This is a place for great food and if you're looking for a great drink selection! The only reason I give this place 4 stars is for the price. We ordered takeout: a smoothie (16oz), a frozen lemonade (16oz), 2 raspberry key lime pies, and an appetizer that came to a total amount of around $45. We both really enjoyed our food and although I was a little sad to see no whip cream on the key lime pie, the delicious crust and the beautiful raspberry swirls along with the intense citrus flavor made the moment just right. Overall, I would recommend this place if you're in the area. The food only took about 10-15 minutes and it's delicious! He commented on how nicely wrapped the "burgers" were- nothing fell out while eating! The Luna Sea was packed with salmon, and the pistachio added a nice texture. The Luna Sea was a bit salty, and while it tasted great with the chipotle mayo, it should be able to stand alone. As for sides, I loved the bean salad and thought it was pretty flavorful. However, I cant say the same about the Bangkok slaw. It was super bland, like it was watered down. Get the bean salad over the slaw! I'd be interested in trying their other options. This place is fantastic. Over for a weekend holiday in Narragansett, my friend and I stopped by out of the blue, unaware how amazingly good this place is. I'm vegan, and they had plenty of good options for me. The quinoa burger, one of three vegan burgers they offer, was the best vegan burger I have ever had. Incredibly tasty, bursting with flavor, beautiful. The Poundies mashed potatoes they had as available as an upgraded side with the burger - he name comes from the veggies pounded in with the taters - oh my God. So good. My friend, not vegan, I had a burger of the more ordinary variety and said it was one of the best he's ever had himself. He also chowed down on the Poundies. We pretty much stumbled into this place because another vegan friendly place around the corner was closed due to a problem with their refrigeration unit. We were thinking of driving over to Newport and grabbing something there, but I said, "that place around the corner looks good, why don't we give it a try?" So glad we did. The staff was friendly, professional, worked together well as a team, attentive and considerate. They were crazy busy. This place seems to have a great reputation because it was packed full of people, mid day Friday. I live 120 miles away, so this is a bit out of my way. I will figure out a reason to come over here in order to go to this place. Narragansett is nice. It's all the better because it has Crazy Burger. I would give it 10 stars if I could. I never ever write negative reviews, ever. EVER! But this experience was so horrible I have to say something to save you the time. Please take my warning. The service was atrocious, about 30 minutes to sit down, which is fine normally but it was because food wasn't coming out (they were prioritizing to-go orders above people at the restaurant). We finally sit down and get water after 15 minutes, we ordered an appetizer that came out cold after another 30 minutes, then the food came out after about an hour total. I felt so bad for some of the people next to us, who still hadn't gotten their food after sitting there for the entire time we had been waiting. This place should be ashamed. Truly. Never ever go here. I wish I could say the food was worth the wait but it was just okay. Was looking for a burger place while vacationing. This place had great reviews, and the pictures of the food online were amazing. Looked like it had a diverse menu, which it did but the food, service and ambiance was lacking severely. We all got different kinds of burgers. The moo moo melt was greesy and soggy. The fire works burger was brother in law couldn't even eat. The ambiance was dated and dirty. I like the whole concept but it lacked refinement. Also the servers seemed annoyed to be working, and it was getting close to when they were closing and seemed to not want to sit anymore people. Unfortunately, I would never go back. The wife and I just moved back to Rhode Island and we haven't been back to Crazy Burger Cafe in almost 8 years. We were both looking forward to having a nice Sunday breakfast and got up early to beat the morning rush because there's almost always a line to get a table. We arrived right at 9 am and there was no line. We walked right in and were assigned a booth by the host. While waiting at the host stand I sensed frustration with the young gentleman who was the host. I overheard him complaining to a co-worker and he seemed frustrated. Not sure what was going on but he was in a mood, not our problem. We sat and were quickly given ice water. From this point it went downhill. We waited ten plus minutes for someone to bring us a menu and my wife had to go to the host stand and request them. She told me that the host had an attitude like she was disturbing him. I told her that I overheard him complaining about something and maybe he was having a bad day, give the guy a break, we all have them. We waited another ten minutes for a server to come to our table to take a drink order. My wife ordered a smoothie and a black coffee for myself. The smoothie was delivered in about 5 minutes by a runner but my coffee never arrived. We were starting to sense that there was something going on because our server disappeared. The Cafe was busy but not at the point where another server couldn't help out. The Host and girl at the bar were just standing around doing pretty much nothing. We waited another 5-10 minutes and still no service. My wife and I looked at each other and said "F*ck this." and left. On the way out I told the girl that was at the bar that we waited over 35 minutes for service and nothing happened, I didn't even get my coffee. Our morning and breakfast was quickly salvaged because we ended up going to the Ocean Mist in Matunuck which is always awesome. Adios Crazy Burger Cafe, your business has gone down hill. read more

You gotta give it to them, the place's got character. From the outside it looks like a cross between a hippie refuge and an old fashioned eatery, and it doesn't disappoint in delivering the same feeling inside, with charming little things around the walls, small comfy if not fancy booths, and a sprawling "backstage" from which a number of young waitresses (almost all women) and seasoned cooks appear and disappear at a dazzling frequency. The food, however, has nothing to do with either a disordered life or an outdated establishment, but instead Crazy Burgers delivers whimsical recipes that put an interesting spin on the old ground beef patty (which stills features prominently and juicy in all of their classic burgers) and bacon slices, mixing it up with a variety of options from today's rage of guacamole to red peppers, with an array of cheeses (not just ye ole American) and even Creole spices. The alternatives (that span from Salmon burgers to a tasty MaiMai ground in a crispy tortilla) are very good on their own but for this burger aficionado they don't hold to their mains. As a bonus for the sweet teeth out there, their cheesecake is deservedly a staple. The service is friendly and, when they make a mistake (as it is bound to happen in a place with so many options) they stand up to it and fix it. The only factors stopping me from the fifth star are the prices (burgers come at $14 or so and you have to pay extra for fries) and the subpar sides, which defines don't live up to the rest of the line up. Kombucha: the absolute best so please order if you are a fan. Crazy burger has a different flavor on tap everytime I go and it's the best!! Firework Burger: consist of beef patty, bacon, onion, pepper and cheese and you can substitute the bun for a gluten free one. Sauce on the side was a habanero/spicy ketchup which was really good and added a kick to the burger. Also ordered with a side of sweet potato fries which are SO good because the salad/bean salad served with is not the best. Quinoa burger (vegan): no flavor and consisted of carrot, bean, quinoa and sweet potato. I've had many meatless burgers and this had no taste. The burger was served with pesto sauce which did not compliment the quinoa burger and made no sense to me. I put some of the habanero sauce from the firework burger to add flavor. Added more ketchup to lessen the spice in the sauce. Pickles: you can order a bowl of pickles here and they taste so yummy! Really love the pickles because they taste homemade. read more

Raced all the way over here before they closed starving after searching Yelp for a vegan dinner with tofu. Walked in, girl says, no menus, online... which I can never read a menu on my phone, so she's send me outside to front of place to look at the printed menu. All excited to order a tofu bowl and a house specialty tofu dish and the girl says they don't have them... all they have is vegan burgers.. that menu is old, shouldn't be out there... but when I scanned the q code outside it gave me the same menu as the written one with both tofu dishes... Not really friendly either... I know better than to try to order 1// hour before closing, but still... This place has great reviews and I hear from friends how great it is... Suppose to be a healthy place with juices but just having bean burgers or quinoa burgers ain't worth the trip... Worst part is I found it on Yelp while parked in front of a Five Guys!
