What a great little sushi place (next door to a Publix even!). I highly suggest you skip the Publix sushi and come here for your sushi fixing. Fast service and tasty! My friend and I don't have family in the area and didn't want to barge in on other friends holiday plans, so we came here on Christmas--we didn't have any expectation, but this was our best decision that day! We had miso soup and the crab Rangoon here, get it, it's a lot crispier and tastier than most places, I think. We loved all the rolls we shared, and took left overs to munch on later in the day. We were stuffed, and so thankful we found this little gem. I love this place! I would give it five stars except their sit down is way better than their take out. My favorites are the cucumber salad which has crab in it, the monster roll which is a perfect combination of tempura shrimp and other amazing ingredients, and the Gyoza. We live around this Publix strip so we pass by this place a lot. Today, we decided to give it a go instead of our usual pho fix for lunch and I am so glad that we did. This place is definitely bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside. Plenty of room for seating. The place sits right at the very end of the left side of the Publix strip so you can definitely miss it if you're not paying attention. For starters, we got the spicy tuna roll and the eel and cucumber roll. The spicy tuna roll was very, very small for $5.95 but it was good. Eel and cucumber roll was a regular roll so that worked out. We got the lunch specials on the hibachi. We got the steak hibachi and the combination hibachi. I have to tell you that I have had plenty of hibachi in my life but never have I ever had this great of hibachi before. It was absolutely flavorful and delicious. I have to say it was the best steak hibachi I have ever eaten and that is saying a lot. The combination hibachi is not worth it because they give you more of the cheaper meat and 5 pieces of the other meat so you're better off just eating a single meat hibachi. BEST HIBACHI EVER. Not to mention this lunch special came with miso soup, ginger salad and steamed/fried rice. It's a steal if you're asking me. Steak hibachi meal for $9.95? YES! Went on yelp looking for a good hibachi spot near me and this popped up so I decided to give them a try. I ordered to go but while I was waiting I noticed the dining area was very neat and clean. This ISNT one of the places where they cook in front of you (just in case you were wondering). Onto the food! I ordered the steak and shrimp lunch combo. Steak and shrimp could both use just a tad bit more seasoning. But I was amazed by how much food I got for just 10 bucks. Now keep in mind that was the lunch special before 3 p.m. then the prices jump a significant amount! But it came with rice, noodles, steak shrimp, ginger salad, and miso soup! Great sushi / Asian bistro that's close to Brandon town center and Riverview. Stopped in a few Saturdays ago to try the hibachi lunch. It came with soup, salad w/ginger dressing, rice, noodles, vegetables, chicken and beef. All for only $10.50! I was stuffed, and the food quality was excellent. Great value for your money. Wonder what the dinner portion is as this meal was filling. They also offer sushi here, and there are numerous vegetarian rolls of fish isn't your thing. The items we have try are spicy tuna, lobster roll, jaguar roll, hibachi combination with selection of salmon and scallops. Their sushi chef prepared correctly. Spicy tuna has good mixed of ingredients and taste. This is my first time with the fried eel roll - Jaguar roll. It is good to try it. The lobster roll has real lobster inside. The hibachi combo is good way to enjoy. The scallops are sea scallops compared to most of the places give you bay scallops. The salmon was sear with outside crispy. We love to end most of our Sundays with sushi and this place was absolutely PERFECT for a casual Sunday date night. Due to covid restrictions, their entrance was a little confusing, but the sweet Lady server opened the door to invite us in before we got away, they only allow 5 tables to be seated at this time and we made table 2 well distanced from table 1. The server lady was so kind and she had our rolls made exactly how we wanted. We started with a chicken small plate with fried rice, then for our rolls, we ordered 3 rolls to share~ the Monster roll, the Mexican roll and the Caterpillar roll. *Please excuse my picture, I don't like masago, spicy Mayo or sesame seeds on my sushi.. my amazing bf let's me order food just how I like it and he never complains. All of the food was nicely priced and everything tasted amazing! We were also pleasantly surprised to receive 2 small ginger salads with our sushi. Crazy cafe happens to be located within 3 miles from my house, we are making it our new sushi spot! I absolutely love this place! We have probably ordered to go from here about 30 times in the last 15 months possibly more. It is so close to where we live and every time it comes out fantastic it's definitely super reasonably priced and we've never gotten anything that's bad or outdated or anything whether it's sushi or cooked food. They are always extremely timely with their orders. We also went and ate for the first time they are not long ago and had an incredible experience. It's your typical little sushi restaurant experience we're 90% of the orders are to go orders but if you eat there, they take great care of you. We specifically had a great experience recently with one of their servers and the place was clean and well-kept which was great to see. Appetizers of crab rangoons were nicely filled and the steamed dumplings were prepared nicely as well. Nothing fancy - no hibachi show - but execution was done right from the kitchen and the sushi staff. Soft Shell Crab Appetizer $8.50 - This dish not only came with crab, but loaded with vegetable tempura! This appetizer came with 2 sauces: tempura sauce and awesomesauce! I think it was for the crab and I'm not sure what's in this creamy sauce, but it was crazy delicious. They should rename it the Crazy Soft Shell Crab Appetizer. Chef's Roll $8 - This rice-free shrimp katsu cucumber roll was fantastic! It was refreshing and had really good flavors. I would order this again. Godzilla Roll $8.50 - This one was a little disappointing. It was lacking the big flavor punch that typically comes with this roll, not to mention it was missing cream cheese. Pacific Fusion Roll $8.50 - This spicy tuna crunch roll wasn't spicy nor crunchy, but was ok. Nigiri Salmon $2.25 and Yellow Tail $2.50 - They both had good texture but the yellow tail was tastier than the salmon. Mochi ice cream $3.95 - 3 pieces per order and you can get 1 in each flavor - mango, strawberry and green tea. The mango was the best one since the mochi part was actually soft and chewy, unlike the other 2 where the mocha was dried out and stale. read more

I would give this place 3 solid stars! Came on a Sunday mid afternoon the place was about 25% full. Was greeted within a minute of walking in. Seated at a table with comfy cushioned chairs. My friend and I skimmed the menu and realized there was a lunch special on a Sunday. The prices were very affordable. 2 meat combo with soup (get the spicy miso!!!! You'll thank me later!) a few rolls spicy tuna roll (), spicy salmon (), cold roll wrapped in cucumber (), and a diablo roll (), & Crab Rangoon were fresh and hot. They have hot tea for $1.95 unlimited refills The combination meal I got hibachi steak & shrimp was good, not Kobe's good but I'd order again good. They can bring you yum yum sauce but again not Kobe's good yum yum, but I continued dipping my veggies and meat in it. Over all great visit, staff was very friendly and attentive. Stopped in during lunch hour for the first time at this small yet clean and well layed out Japanese restaurant. Seating was immediate, and menu and drink order were taken as soon as I was seated. I chose to try the Gyoza (pan fried) appetizer, and the shrimp tempura from the lunch menu. The special lunch menu includes miso soup, whit or fried rice, and salad. The soup and salad were delivered very quickly. The salad consisted of a small bowl of head lettuce with a choice of american dressings, of which I chose Italian. The lettuce was chilled, fresh and crisp. Other than that I would rate the salad and soup as nothing special, not particularly flavorful. The pan fried Gyoza was delivered next, and I would rate it excellent and a generous portion for the price. It was very flavorful and well cooked, except for two of the pieces which were overcooked to the point of being burnt. Two types of dippling sauce were provided, and I could have made a meal of just the Gyoza. Next the shrimp tempura was brought to the table. The tempura was perfectly done, the shrimp and breading of excellent texture, and delightful taste. I could have easily made an entire meal of the shrimp tempura and left happy. I had obviously over ordered so that I could try the different items, so I had considerable leftovers. I will post photos to support my observations stated here. All in all a very enjoyable lunch experience. The service was top notch, and I will return when in the area as there are a multitude of other items on the menu which I would like to try. read more

I've been to Crazy Cafe many times because I work close by and the prices are great! The sushi is always fresh, the staff is very friendly and the restaurant is extremely clean. They have lunch specials everyday until 3pm if you want something other than sushi. MENU: The menu is a good size, offering sushi, sashimi, hibachi, small plates, dessert, wine and beer. As stated before, the sushi is the real star here. I've previously ordered the salmon roll and the avocado roll which were under $4 and very delicious (6 pieces total). Today I had the salmon katsu roll for $5 and I loved it. Very crispy and super fresh. Specialty rolls are mostly $10-$15 and all sound delicious. I plan to order some in the future. The miso soup is also tasty. If you dine in, you get a soup or salad with your sushi. If you take out, you need to order it separately but get a large container for around $2. And if you like your hot sake (like I do!), it costs $5.50 for a large. They have plenty of indoor seating and tables to sit outside (but no service outdoors). If you dine solo, you can sit right in front of the sushi bar. Service for me has always been fast and efficient. I would highly recommend stopping by here. read more

I saw the reviews and decided to give them a try. I made a takeout order through DoorDash. I was very disappointed once I opened the containers. I ordered gyoza as appetizers, 2 sushi rolls and house special hibachi fried rice. The gyoza were stuck together and I couldn't even pull them apart without breaking them. The sushi rolls were so tiny that 2 rolls combine does not make an average size roll. For reference I got the Monster roll which is considered a specialty roll and the spicy tuna roll. In addition i ordered the house special hibachi fried rice which was the only thing with a decent portion size. They didn't even give me the sauces you normally get (yum yum sauce) and the soya sauce container wasn't even full. See pictures for proof, I gave them 3 stars because the food had flavor but not worth the cost. I will give them one more try dining in hopefully the portions are better. read more

They've also got pretty darn good hibachi! The staff is amazing. They all work together to serve the tables, and we are always more than taken care of while there. I was unsure if a place called Crazy Cafe would have good sushi but boy was I wrong. I was shocked even more to notice that it would be in a strip mall near Publix. However, to my surprise and my wife, the food was delicious. It was so good we almost went back again the next day. I usually don't like ordering sushi to go but due to not wanting to be out we decided it was the best route to take. I always feel like the quality is different but yet again we were wrong!!! My wife ordered the shrimp hibachi. I ordered the Fuji Roll and the Miyazaki Roll. I tasted some of the shrimp hibachi which was fantastic. The sushi I ordered melted in my mouth. Fuji roll was probably my favorite. I'm always trying to try different rolls similar to the volcano roll. The Fuji roll definitely hit the spot. Next time, I'll get the hibachi. read more
