This is another one of the wanna-be-angry-crab copy cat, only advantage it has is it exits in the burbs so it probably not get compared against Angry Crab often, but here I am, being a huge fan of the Angry Crab when I lived in the city, moved to nearby the crazy crab recently and excited to try it out, but only to find disappointments one after another. For starter, the "garlic noodle" has no garlic flavor, or any flavor at all, and the noodle is soggy We also ordered 2 pounds of shrimp, one in the garlic butter sauce, and one in Cajun, again, flavorless. The low point of the meal was the clams, not only flavorless, but also full of sand, to think that it cost me 16 bucks just makes me sad... Overall thIs is not a place I would recommend to anyone, it tries to mimic someone else but failed, ends up with flavorless, overpriced food that probably can survive among people who haven't tried the angry crab yet. If you are going to spend 70 bucks for a dinner of 2, you are better off driving to angry crab in north side chicago and have a meal that you will never forget. read more

Great foods! They serve it in a plastic bag mixed with whatever seafood you order by the pound (lbs.). They sometimes have specials that are only posted on a handwritten note in their seating area, they change here and there but not sure how frequent. They have 3 different sauces to pick from and you also get to pick the level of spiciness you desire. Then you get to add things like corn, white rice (comes on the side), potato, & sausage which come mixed in the bag. For non seafood eaters, they have appetizers like wings, onion rings, fries, etc. Options are limited, but there are options available. They give you a plastic bib to wear (optional). I recommend it as the juice can really splash on your clothing. It gets messy, so come prepared you eat with your hands (utensils provided also). They have sinks to wash your hands before/after. They offer pop with free refills. Recommendations: garlic/parmesan noodles, skip their Cajun sauce (I dislike the taste, not bad but I rather skip it), add sides to your bag (corn/potato), get their calamari app. They do also have vinegar available for people who fancy that with their seafood, just need to request it. I am a huge seafood fan and moreso when it's spicy. On that note, I was incredibly disappointed when I came here. The shrimp was so overcooked and the spices were terrible. Maybe a little salt could help. I did 1 pound of garlic butter shrimp and 1 pound of Crawfish with a mix of all the spices. Everything was beyond flavorless. What a rip off. During early covid we ordered our here every couple of weeks and it was a staple for us. It was our go to. So delicious. Tonight we ordered $250 of food. This included 4 lbs of snow crab. We cleaned out the shells and it didn't look right. So I decided to weight shells and crab. They only have us 2.5lbs of crab. Mind you it's $36/lb. my husband called to request a refund for 1.5lbs of crab and they told him too bad. They report their new policy is either you bring back ALL of the food to prove it's not accurate or deal with it. We opted to bring it back. First they said food would be ready when we arrived, nope hadn't even started (we live 25 min away). Second they didn't make the bags correct. They did shellfish separate of the additives. So the additives had zero flavor. Finally and most infuriating. I of course decided to weigh the snow crab again and this time we only got 2lbs 6oz. WHAT THE HELL! So we called again and they basically said too bad we gave you 6 bundles of the crab. I understand that uncooked weight and cooked weight would be different but 1lb 10oz difference? Not to mention market price for Alaskan snow crab is $20/lb. they are charging $36/lb. I am not sure if it's new management but it is SUCH a huge rip off and aren't giving you the actual food you're paying for. They screwed us out of AT LEAST 1lb (being generous for weight lost once cooked. Stay FAR FAR FAR away. Find a new low country boil place! The food has always been delicious at Crazy Crab and the prices are pretty good for seafood. Their beignets are amazing! Portion sizes are good too. We've dined in a few times and other than one Saturday night, when they were super busy, service was good. You can scribble on the walls and the tables. They provide markers to do so. The Crazy Crab is very very similar to The Angry Crab chain of seafood restaurants. The gimmick is the same, bag of seafood mixed up with some spices...seafood boil style. The bag we ordered was tasty, a great mix of seafood (shrimp, calamari, mussels, etc). We ordered the cajun mix which was flavorful with a hint of heat. The service was great, considering it was a busy weekend night and the place was packed. Our waitress was very attentive throughout the night, bringing us lots of extra lemons and beers. There's plenty of parking in the lot. Be prepared to wait if you show up on a Friday/Saturday night. I am a seafood lover and I have been very pleased with each visit. The crab legs are excellent! I appreciate this location and not having to go into the city to satisfy my seafood fix. The only thing that I would suggest / recommend would be more seafood options (i.e seafood poboys, catfish sandwiches). At first the food was great but we started noticing the difference in recipe and even portion. I am not a huge fan of the seafood arriving with the sauce on...it's very salty and I love salt so but it's way too much.They used to offer delivery with sauce on the side but they stopped doing that and would not accommodate my order and called me after I placed it to tell me so. I had requested all 3 sauces on the side orig. and they actually mixed all 3 together instead of clarifying which sauce I would prefer so they had to fix that as well. It was a tad spicy but you can adjust the heat according to your preference. Be prepared to only order in pounds. It's fair pricing for what you get (we got 1 lb shrimp, 1 lb clams, and 1 lb snow crab) and paid around $62. The clams were tasty, but I don't think you get as much meat as other items. I would have probably gotten the crawfish or maybe even more crab instead of clams because it was just that good. Also THIS IS FINGER FOOD, so it's hilariously messy but so fun to get to eat with your hands. We took ours to-go, and they were awesome and let us have a paper table cloth, napkins, and bibs. I didnt mind the writings on the walls of the interior.. it was different. I love seafood but i wasnt too much into the flavor..in fact it was a bit flavorless except for the taste of garlic. Even the corn didnt taste as good. The insane spicy level was not even spicy.. insane should mean insane. For cajun seafood this wouldnt be my first choice. Their cajun fries were delicious though. I loved this place. So great to find a place nearby that has quality food like this. I got a 1lb of deveined headless shrimp and one lb of the Alaskan snow crab legs with a side of corn and potato and it was delicious. The waitress recommended 1lb per person but I ate the whole thing no problem. I got the Cajun and the garlic butter combined and the spice level was "I like crazy" which was really perfect for me. You get one corn for .75 and then a somewhat small potato for the same, so I prob would do two potatoes next time. the price difference was pretty significant between the Alaskan crab and the red crab, and I felt that the amount of crab meat I got was just fine, and actually more than I thought I would get. My cousin got the lemon pepper with headless deveined shrimp and liked it. The place is cute and the staff was really friendly. Came in a Friday around 7pm and the wait was about 20 min, not bad. Got here with my husband just ahead of the dinner rush on a Saturday. We had been searching for a place in the area that does classic New Orleans style crawfish boils and were thrilled to find somewhere close to home. Wow! We were not disappointed! The food was absolutely delicious and flavorful! Crawfish, clams, lobster, shrimp by the pound served up in a bag with your choice of potatoes, corn, or sausage. I was excited to try this place out (my husband had already been) because I loved a similar place we tried in the city. We got there around 7:15 on a Friday night and it was busy but not packed. I asked how long the wait for 6 was and the hostess said 20 minutes but it ended up being around 45-50 minutes. We ordered 3 lbs of shrimp, 3 lbs of crab and 1 lb of crawfish as well as some fries. The fries were good but very spicy with the spice we chose. The shrimp was good but I thought it was over cooked and the sauce on the bottom was so hot the shrimp at the bottom just kept cooking. This is my second time eating Crazy crab and it did not disappoint. I had the crab legs, potatoes and sausage and it was absolutely delicious. The seasoning is just absolutely perfect and they give you all the items you need, plenty napkins, shell cracker, gloves, bib etc. Let's not forget to mention they practiced social distancing inside and our server was very nice, I only wish I remembered his name because he deserves some recognition. My wife, small child,father in-law and I stopped in as we were returning home from getting my car repaired at a specialty shop near west chicago. I wanted to find some good food that can compare to chicago restaurants. Yelp recommended this place and off we went. Food is good but service could use some help. When we were getting seated we requested a booth and the host seemed annoyed and ignored my wife when she tried to make small talk. The server was definitely not cheery at all, didn't even offer some sort of crayons for our little one ( I'm assuming they don't have this here?). We asked for something for our daughter and were given permanent markers? For a 1 and a half year old? All in all service was not great and the food lacked flavor. When it came time to leave a tip you could only select from the percentages provided or none. This was frustrating because although she did bring us our food, the service was not stellar or inviting.
