This restaurant went super downhill for the last few years in terms of customer service, food quality, and just everything about it. The redhead girl who works there is super slow and takes forever to prepare simple meals and the food quality is straight mediocre. Yesterday, the redhead girl took more than 10-15 minutes to prepare fries, a shake, and green beans. She was straight horrible at her job and has been there for a while too. Feel bad to leave a bad review for the ginger girl with the cap but she isn't cut for a job if she can't deliver a decent experience at the least. It's a shame how the habit has gone downhill at this location over the years. And the food quality has declined too. It doesn't seem to hit like it used to be. Another mediocre mainstream restaurant chain in Santa Clarita. Not surprised at this point. read more

My wife had an offer on her Habit Burger app for a free Double Char burger, with any purchase of $8.00 or more. Not being much of a fan of Habit Burger of late, due to past experiences, especially at their Golden Valley location. I recommended we try searching for possibly another location in Santa Clarita. There are actually three. I agreed to take the double, though I rarely order double burgers. Along with a side of fries and a soft drink. While my wife went with a single char and her favorite side, the green bean tempura. Our order took about a 15 minute wait; they make everything to order here. But to say I have a new found love for The Habit Burger & Grill at this change of locations would be lying to my fellow Yelpers. Let's start with my double char burger's overly toasted sesame seed bun. It's not that I don't appreciate a lightly toasted bun on occasion but this burger was almost like biting through croutons! With patties so bland ketchup and a packet of salt were of little help. The same was true with my wife's single. And the mayonnaise they prepared it with only served to soak through the two croutons --I mean buns, as if they were sponges. The fries were average but passable. And my wife was happy, as always, with her green beans. But The Habit will have a hard time ever winning me over again. We're not planning a return visit to this location either. read more

It's been a year since I've eating here. Ordered a side of ranch with my burger to see if they're still filling them up half way. Yup, still half way. Pay 60 cents for a 2oz ramekin of ranch and they give you 1oz. AND the fries were undercooked and tastes like raw potatoes... lovely.... This place used to be the best back in the day. Now they try to make it fancy inside with big ordering iPads. Stick to the basics. Remember that people just want a good burger and fries. Corporate really changed things for the worst. I normally go to the Habbit off Newhall Ranch Road across from Home Depot. I go there so much sometimes I'll go to this one. But! Every single time I go to this one they screw up my order. I say no tomato and I have tomato, I say well done and I get rare! I ask for no guacamole and I get guacamole. Once, twice ok but 7,8,9,10 times is unacceptable! Also the people who work there are nothing like the Habbit o always go to! It seems like they just don't want to be there. It's almost like you're bothering them. And god forbid you tell them your order is wrong...the cook looks like he wants to kill you! It makes me afraid to Sen food back as they might do something. Update to my previous 5-star review - I'm still a fan of everything about the place...the good service, customizable burger options, the ability to 50/50 fries and onion rings so you don't have to make that choice...BUT in my most recent visit I learned that they no longer offer the Impossible Burger patty as the vegetarian option and have instead replaced it with a new vegan patty which is reminiscent of older veggie burgers and not quite up to the task of simulating a real burger experience. There are different kinds of vegetarians...some of us give up meat for dietary needs or moral considerations...not because we didn't enjoy eating it. So when I'm looking for a veggie-burger experience, I want it to be as close to the real thing as possible. That's what they had with the Impossible patty. The vegan veggie patty option that replaced it is a big step backwards. There are plenty of local restaurants (similar chains, nicer sit-down spots and more) that offer an Impossible or Beyond patty. I can't imagine going back to the Habit (which used to be at the top of our list for a "burger" experience) with this new veggie patty as the offering. read more

My nephew requested The Habit for his birthday lunch, he said it's his favorite restaurant. This location is easy to find, on the corner in Granary square, next to a grocery store, large parking lot. We walked in to the place, there's seating inside in comfortable booths or outside on the shaded patio. The girl at the register is very sweet and even though there was a line (12:30 pm on a friday) prime lunch hour, we were seated within 5 minutes of entering. I had the #1, cheese burger, lettuce wrapped, all the toppings, fries and a drink. I had the passion fruit tea, the hibiscus refresher and the strawberry lemonade. My nephew had the #2 double burger, fries, and a coke. He said his burger was perfect, huge, delicious and juicy! We both agreed that the ingredients are high quality, fresh, and delicious. He said this place is better than in n out. We love the fries (I should have orderedmine well done, I like them crispy) and the house made ranch is amazing! I have had salads here before, they do offer a vegan patty option. I wish they had a gluten free bun. Their tempura green beans are really delicious; and I can't recommend this place enough. Did an online order for two burgers and a shake. Website let me customize toppings which was nice. Order was ready on time and on the counter when I walked in. The shake was also on the counter. Hopefully had I been a few minutes late they shake would have gone in the fridge . Another local burger and shake spot keeps the shakes in the fridge or freezer until you arrive. We have been going to Habit for many years. It was good food at a reasonable cost. We went last week and they had a new menu. First, no more combo deals with a charburger. You have to pay ala cart. So in the past we would pay 23 dollars for what we want, now it's 27 dollars. Costs are going up, I get it, but they already raised their prices substantially after covid. They also charge for ranch dressing now. Our meals sucked. The buns were a soggy mess on both our burgers and the fries weren't done. Totally half assed and totally missed the mark. We regretted not going to Chillis for a way better meal, more food, and way better value on the 3 for me special. 27 dollars for a burger, a double, one fry and one soda. And it sucked too! We went to the Valencia Habit Grill on our way home from my boyfriend's eye surgery. We ordered their $10 bundle online to pick up. The app said that it wasn't available so we ordered a burger with white American cheese, an ahi burger, onion rings and a chocolate shake. When we got home, there was no cheese on the burger and the ahi burger was a hamburger. I'm very allergic to beef. I just waited for 30-40 minutes in the mobile order parking spot with a crying 4 week old newborn and HAD TO GO INSIDE. Checked in when I was told my order was ready and waited a bit. No one picks up the phone. I place ANOTHER curbside order for a small side just incase somehow I forgot to select that option. I check in again when the order is ready and I get a text saying it'll be out soon. Nothing for 10 minutes. So I finally have to take my restless newborn out of his car seat and into the restaurant. My orders are sitting on the counter ready. And literally no other patrons inside, just the employees picking their boogers. We ate at this Habit on McBean Parkway and i'm very happy with my choice. The restaurant was busy but finding seating was not a problem. At first glance the restaurant was very clean (big deal for me). We had a choice of a kiosk or counter register for ordering, I prefer face to face. The person taking our order was named Rose and she was quite pleasant and patient. I order a teriyaki burger, sweet potato fries and a vanilla shake. My partner ordered the Veggie burger with regular fries and larger drink which offered a self service fountain bar. The restaurant had a very modern and upbeat felling. First off, right when we walked in we got greeted by mostly everyone even the cooks which i thought was pretty kicking cool, I did not know what i wanted to order so i asked the girl behind the counter and she offered to try the patty melt since it was the last week along with some cheesy balls, WHICH WERE OUT OF THIS WORLD! im a bit sad i came to late cause now i wont be able to come back and enjoy them. Buckle up. It's going to be a long one. I just left after god knows how long of not stepping foot in a Habit. I was shocked but I get menu changes happen was just bummed that the steak sandwich was gone. First things first the gentleman in front of me was getting rung up for $.28 and the machine kept declining so I offered to just pay for his $.28 and it declined too. We both looked at each other and both said that we had more than that in our bank accounts. The lady at the front, that was helping the kid that was ringing everyone up, seriously did not have her customer service hat on this evening. She dryly asked the kid working if he had $.28 and to try his phone without acknowledging the man or myself even after we said that it's probably the machine. It declined his as well she pushed a button printed a receipt and went towards that little back counter didn't tell the guy hey sorry but don't worry about the money or whatever. So then I proceeded to order a Santa Barbara char combo and sub out the fries for sweet potato fries. The kid then says sorry we can only do a combo with regular fries if you want sweet potato fries it'll be charged at individual prices. I said fine but no drink then since I don't need it. I then ordered my kids burger (glad I had a free offer on the app) and a regular fries for him. Repeats my order correctly and then charges me. When I get my food I ask for 4 ranch... the sour faced lady snarkily says it's $.60 cents EACH! So I then said wow I wish I would've known so I would've had one charge instead of two. So as a favor to me she only charged me for two. I left cranky and upset. Once I got home I saw two regular fries and both burgers. The kid charged me for 2 regular fries after all that!!! So it's safe to say I will not be returning to Habit.., and if I do, definitely won't be this one. Consistent food prep. Generally can count on Habit to make a good grilled chicken with ciabatta and double burger. We love the green beans.
