If i had to rate this place on customer service it would be less stars..i had a very large order. Just under. 180.00 I gave them 24 hours notice.They were not overly happy when i dropped it off the order. When i picked up the next day We asked if everything was there because it look a little light. They said it was so we left. Of course when we had a chance to check the order when it got back it was shorted. We called and they said they forgot to give it to us.so we had to go back and pick it up.this was very time consuming. Time we did not have. Disappointing would be a great way to describe my sandwich that just got delivered. It was skimpy to the point of having less meat on it than an average hot dog you would boil at home. About a third of the length of the philly cheesesteak had no meat on it whatsoever and what did have meat on it was barely noticeable. There was a fair amount of cheese wiz on it however the bulk of the sandwich was just bread. For the price, it was a total ripoff! A short loaf of bread with next to no fillings makes a horrible cheesesteak. You will have much better luck trying either Brenda's or Marcello's as both are FAR MORE GENEROUS and taste way better. It works and is easy, which is most likely why there are so many places like this in this small city. The key to repeat customers of course is...customer service. This establishment completely lacks and customer service skills of any kind. I have walked in, grabbed a 6 pack, paid at the counter, put a buck in the glass TIP jar...and have the goon behind the counter stare at me blankly as he tosses MY change into his register with out hesitation or consideration that maybe I would like my change back, not to mention the wasted pity tip I stuffed in your ( no wonder) empty jar. Just this evening, a FRIDAY night, they are scheduled to be open until eleven o'clock tonight, but when my boyfriend calls for a Stromboli almost an hour before close, they say 'grills closed'. FANTASTIC service, nice selection of beer, and really good (and pretty cheap) pizza make this a perfect "grab and go" place for pizza and beer. With a large 1-topping pizza costing about $8, it's quick and easy food. I grabbed a sixpack of Red Stripe (beer yay) and it was dinner. Yes - they not only have the usual humdrum selection of crap domestic, but for people with taste-buds there was Guinness, Blue Moon, Red Stripe, and a variety that I wasn't familiar with personally but had seen in the hands of my friends. So I started by saying this is for delivery and I would like a pizza boli. Now, I messed up and said pizza boli vs Stromboli. I know from past experience that the pizza is not good... After about 3 years I gave them another try last night. 7.99 for the pretzel burger would be worth it... If it weren't a tiny flavorless Sysco burger. 15 for 2 of them turned out to be a tease that barely involved meat. Wings didn't come with Ranch like asked and were not very crispy. My husband and I went to the east York location while my nephew had a lacrosse game, bc it was closer than the west location that we loved, figured they would be the same, we were dead wrong, we arrived and placed our order and then we were told we couldn't dine in, ( mean while I look over and see like 8 ladies dining in, and being served food) but ok lol, so we walk out and wait in the car with our one year old, as she is sitting on our lap on the front seat waiting on our food, she accidentally beeps the horn ‍ Then it happened again like ten minutes later, and we here the guy behind the counter, tell another costumer " I guess they think beeping their horn will make us move faster" with an attitude, so my husband walked in and apologizing that it was an accident by our one year, the man still had an attitude, we finally get our food after waiting 40 mins, for a sub, fries and strombol, it was cold and nasty. I am reviewing the West York location. My first visit i got strombolis to go. Cheese steak pretzel boli was great. Traditional boli was also good and had plenty of meat. One 8 oz cup of sauce was enough for both bolis. Next time we ordered pizza for delivery. Large 4 topping was $18 and had plenty of toppings. They offer onions both raw and grilled; I love the grilled ones. On both occasions the people were very friendly. On street parking. No beer. @Yelp, you should start a separate page for each location because they are different in several ways. Parking and beer to name just two. read more

I agree with the 3 stars I see it's getting at the time of my writing. I live relatively close to the place and have had deliveries a few times. Very quick delivery. I was a little disappointed with their subs, I've had an Italian and cheesesteak there before. The cheesefries were basically a huge bag of greasy fries with cheese whiz. Don't go near that on a diet. Stay far, far away from it. The pizza...I don't know what to make of it. While it is tasty, it is not the same type of pizza you get with a marcello's, nino's, genova's. It's almost like a papa john's pizza in a sense. When it is piping hot, it's pretty good. As it cools, not so great. Overall, there are far better pizza joints in York, but this will fit the bill in a pinch or if you're sick of marcello's type pizza. The best thing I get here are the wings. She ask for my address I told hershe ask for direction we are very easy to find . She got all pissed off laid the phone down and started yelling at the person she was working with . A group of 10 of us stopped in the other evening for a few drinks & a bite. New place, heard some decent things, thought we'd give it an enthusiastic try. Upon entering, we noticed a very, very drunk patron being helped by his friends. Not a good way to be greeted to a new spot. The decor ok, not all that inviting. There are tons of TVs which looks like it could be really good on a football Sat or Sun. We sat down & was greater by a nice young gal. Drinks weren't all that good ... beer was warm & flat ... vodka/club tasted "funny" ... drinks were very small & rather expensive for the amount & quality you get. Fully realizing we had a large group, the food took quite a while to arrive. To our defense, there weren't many food patrons in the grille. The food was mediocre at best. Fries (shoestring style) were greasy, cold & clumped together ... menu says pizza dough is hand-tossed, but didn't look & taste that way ... Pretzel-bun burger sounds good, but was very disappointing ... buffalo wings & no buffalo sauce on it ... Salads looked very disappointing ... wraps weren't getting any raves either ... all mediocre at best. I'll wager this place does pretty well, this summer especially. I think one would be better served hitting up one of our many other spots in the area. Grilles these days need to serve drinks & offer food that's over-the-top ... this place just isn't doing that right now, perhaps they need more time to tweak things. read more

Called at 4:42 PM ordered a large cheese pizza,, fries, mozzarella sticks, and a pretzel burger. 1 hour later, I called to find out if they were extremely busy, and we should just be patient... the answer was...they just left and would be there momentarily... acceptable.... living nearly 2 miles away we waited another 25 minutes... I called again.... the response was "uh, we had a shift change and no one even started making your order til after 5 and there were 2 other deliveries and blah blah blah.... ok.... things happen.... 18 minutes later the driver shows up... he seems to be unaware that it has taken 1 hour and 43 minutes to get delivery from nearly 2 miles away and hands over the overcooked greasy pizza, the disgustingly cool and dark greasy fries, the mozzarella sticks that were more thawed than cooked, and the pretzel burger which actually was delicious. At no time during any of my interactions with the crazy tomato employees did anyone offer compensation for the ridiculous amount of time it took to deliver poor quality food, at an outrageous price. I will have prison sex with the Blue Monster Sully from Monsters Inc before I ever EVER consider Crazy Tomato again. I hope everyone stops settling for their uncaring customer service, their poorly delivered grease sponges, and the overall screw You attitude that everyone there from the owner on down must have. My faaaaaavorite pizza!!! They use great cheese and if u dig the meat...the pepperoni and the sausage are different than anybody else around here! The pepperoni are small and slightly thicker than usual and curl when cooked so they get crispy on the edges. The sausage isn't that crumble crap with aniseed in it (you know those little seeds you see a lot in the crumbled sausage?). It's flat round slices. Kudos on the fresh mushrooms too (not canned)! Ok so the pizza good...So are the fresh cut boardwalk fries and the Italian sub (5 kinds of imported meat...mmmm). read more

Opening arriving had to walk through clouds of cigarette smoke from restaurant employees smoking right outside the entrance. 4 open tables in dining area and several more in bar area Entered at 4:35 were seated at after being less than greeted by the hostess with a speech about not wanting to overwhelm her servers and the kitchen being closed. Definitely not warm and welcoming it was almost like she was hoping we would leave because they couldn't handle the crowd. Open beverage container at hostess stand and the hostess was chewing gum. Definitely not okay! Manager/Owner thanked us for our patience. Was told it would be a 10 minute wait Seated at 5:04 Waitress greeted us right away and told us they were out of pulled pork, loaded nachos, and coconut shrimp. It is Saturday at 5 o'clock and you are out of your signature pulled pork??? Overall, our food came out hot and was pretty good. Our server was attentive to our needs, but there were other tables that sat long before we did that had not been served at all. They definitely need more staff and the staff members they do have need more sufficient training. read more

We ordered 2 pretzel boli's. We were told the delivery would be 1 hour. They were 2 hours and the one boli was so undercooked the dough was raw. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!! When we called for a refund he told us we needed to return the whole boli. We are in an office setting where half of it was eaten before we realized this. There was no way to return the whole thing. This is DAY TWO of their opening and the food was Meh. The Fries were semi warm and not fresh, the advertised 'crab dip' had shrimp in it and was told this was the recipe but it definitely hurt the integrity of the menu (why not just call it seafood dip?), the dip had a burnt layer on top, silverware was dirty, and servers were NEVER trained by their own omission therefore lacking attentiveness to their dining guests. Managers are no help- the one female manager could not answer menu questions and the male manager was handling a table complaint of another table and boy did he botch that up! Not to mention that they (managers) lacked the ability to connect with the guests. Other than the fact that my burger was cooked to the right temp and the restrooms were cleaned, everything was poor. Three strikes and you're out! I have had bad two prior experiences with staff being very rude at Crazy Tomato. On one occasion we ordered from my place of employment for lunch. We waited over an hour. When we called to ask where the food was we were told that we didn't specify when we wanted it. Since we had meetings all day we all basically missed our lunch that day. Today I had a coupon from the bonus book so I thought I would give it one more try. It said one pretzel Boli at 50% off. I ordered a Boli. They did not honor the coupon. I was told it was not for the steak boli but only the ham and cheese. It did not say that on the coupon. When I left a customer knocked on my car window to tell me that he had a similar problem. They would not honor his coupon because they had already rung up his order. He also shared that was not his first negative experience with this restaraunt. I am sadly disappointed in the Crazy Tomato and their customer service. I have ordered there often and have enjoyed the food but when I recently sent black friends of mine to pick up food there they were treated to racial discrimmation and a condescending attitude by the employees there. I was upset and horrifed to know that my friends were mistreated at an establishment I sent them to. One of the my guest was visiting from NYC and I was bragging about our small town hospitality to him prior to him entering the above mentioned establishment. BUYER BEWARE!! This is the epitome of HORRIBLE customer service - the owners have sabotaged themselves with this THUG manager. The service is what you would expect from a Prison Cafeteria Kitchen. I called in a two large cheese pizza w/ a coupon offer of $17.99 w/ extra sauce (this place never puts enough sauce on their pies). They said it would be ready in 20 min. I attempted to pick it up & the giant ape behind the counter (who called himself the manager) wants to charge FULL PRICE. I showed him the coupon & he said extra sauce means full price. I should have known then...I'm dealing with a someone with a low IQ. I told him I've never been charged for extra sauce before...he didn't care. I told him I'm not paying full price; just the coupon price - he took my coupon & he told me he won't serve me. I asked for his boss's contact info to report the incident...he didn't want to share it. I called their other store to RAT him out. I would recommend going to ANY OTHER local pizza shops around who treat customers warmly & appreciate business (and don't charge full price for extra sauce). Went there on a Saturday with 4 teenagers and 2 adults. Ordered their very expensive sandwiches and a large pizza. Waited over half an hour for the food and the pizza was hot but $60.00 dollars worth of sandwiches were cold. We told the server everything was cold, and she was kind enough to bring us one order of fries. Call me crazy, but how can anyone in east hemp field spend over $100.00 for a cold lunch?
