If I can give this place a six star, I would. To pay about $10 extra, you could have the ayce sashimi, and the quality is as good as any sushi bar. They even have raw shrimp sushi!! This place has gone downhill sadly. Used to be the spot for a good year or so and went in today at 9pm, they close at 10pm, and the host advised last call is at 9:30pm. I advised we can order anything we need on all you can eat I the first round no worries. He then stated, stating there is a left over charge of over ordering happens. I let him know as he can see we have three well built teenage boys with us and they will be fine with one round and not leave leftovers. He still seemed hesitant, clearly not wanting to seat us regardless. I advised, we were good, and that we would not need be dining there. Very disappointed to be turned away for no good reason. We went during Happy Hour... and were pleasantly surprised by the $26/person price for AYCE sushi, sashimi, and appetizers! After doing some quick math, we opted to go the AYCE route... and I can say that you better bring your appetite if you do the same! We ordered a roll (or two) too many... but found our inner hunger and gobbled them all up! We started with the seaweed salad and squid salad. For sashimi, we went with the yellowtail, albacore, salmon, escolar, and izumi dai. All were delish, but the escolar, albacore, and izumi dai are my top recommendations. As far as rolls, we went with the spicy tuna... and then a few specialty rolls - the Ex-BF (a riceless roll), the Hawaiian, and the Chandler Handler... and they were all awesome, tasty, and super fresh! Service was awesome - I think they filled up my glass of water about six times, lol. For those gluten-free like me, there are a lot of rolls that include tempura, so you're somewhat limited unless you ask them to customize the rolls for you. Beware if your server is a girl named ANGEL/ASHLEE. Check your receipts and make sure it matches your bank account withdraw. Twice She has taken the liberty of changing the tip amount we left, not ONCE but TWICE! TWICE! How this girl is still employed here is beyond me. The fist time we left her a $40 cash tip and the next day we noticed an additional tip amount was added to our card charge. The bank withdrawal did not march our receipt. We went back and spoke with David (the manager) was nice he apologized, gave us a 50% discount on the whole meal. So we felt ok coming back. On our 3rd visit after the incident we got Angel/Ashlee as our server and again we left a $10tip (on a card) we took pictures of the receipt (just in case) and sure enough the tip amount was changed to $20! Decided I wanted to go to a new all you can eat sushi. 30-40 minute wait at 7pm on a Saturday sounds about right. I called ahead and they said they don't do reservations for parties under 6 but there was a party of 3 ahead of us with a reservation. There were 2 tables available the entire 30 minutes and that table was the table we were seated at. Kind servers as my friend had a shellfish allergy and we were consistency checked on for water and asked if we needed anything. I was shocked that everything signature roll but 1 is tempera. There are also limits on the amounts of sushi you can have for 3 rounds. The rice is the problem as it's not regular sticky rice. There is more rice than veggies or meat and you will be charged 20% for leaving rice or food on the plate. The restaurant was very clean. Overall, if you're beginner in the sushi game, this is a good place to dip your toes. If you enjoy really good sushi with a little more quality and presentation, this may not be your place. read more

The rolls were ok, some odd combinations so sticking to traditional rolls or sushi/sashimi is probably the way to go here. When we sat down we were given a long list of rules, it just seemed a bit complicated and slightly overwhelming. Once we got the bill, we had to have them remove a couple of items that had been added to our bill making about a $30 difference. Then he said he issued me a refund for those items, but couldn't give me an updated bill with the items taken off. Just all seemed a bit uncomfortable to me. My friends took me to this All You Can Eat (AYCE) sushi place. Now I do not typically favor AYCE only because there is a pricing balance where if you don't really eat enough it is not worth it. Here is what I liked. The service was friendly and the rolls tasted fresh and were quite large and good. When you order an option for AYCE be it sushi, rolls, or sashimi, there are also additional things you can order like soups, appetizers and salads. The pricing itself was not bad. We all did the roll AYCE and it ended up being about $29 before any tip. Here is what I hated. Everyone at the table has to order the same thing. So if one wants sashimi and one wants sushi and one wants rolls, you are shit out of luck. It is all or none. Also, there are two specific rolls that I love that were actually not part of the roll AYCE. In fact, one was part of the sushi AYCE and one was part of the sashimi AYCE. This place is ok. Their fish is just not that fresh. It's all you can eat, so the lower quality is par for the course. Their 'appetizers' section had better dishes than many of their rolls that I tried. I did appreciate the way they have the AYCE structured. You can get sashimi and carpaccio at a higher price point, but if you'd rather not, they offer a lower price for standard rolls. Some nigiri are also included at the lower price point. $45 and $34 for sashimi lover and sushi lover respectively. So, come prepared to eat a lot, if you want to get your money's worth. The service was also just ok. We had a couple of rounds where we waited for someone to take our paper for the next order. It seems any staff member can take it and put in the order, so that helped with some of the wait. You may need to be more aggressive than I was willing to be to get your order in quicker. Our waitress was nice. They had us seated near theservers's computer for orders, which also has a shelf full of server supplies. It was not a very nice table because of the proximity to it. There was some room on the other side of the table, too, so I'm not sure why it was so close to the shelf. AYCE sushi! They provide you a paper to tally up what rolls or apps you want. You will need to look at the menu through the QR code to see what each roll has. The sushi took a while to come out but when it did, they came out all at once so it filled us up pretty quickly. The rolls were pretty thick too so that also filled us up. Sushi rice had occasional quinoa mixed in and had hints of sesame oil. Overall the sushi dishes had a lot of rice:fish ratio and the rice was wetter and kept falling apart while using chopsticks. Carpaccios - not thinly sliced, like sushi thickness. Nice accompanying sauce. Tuna was a miss - overly fishy flavor. I've been wanting to try this place since it opened but based on reviews complaining about wait times I decided to give it some time for the newness to wear down. We arrived just before 7pm on a Friday there were two other couples in the waiting area and the restaurant was full. We were quoted a 30-40 min wait. It turned out to be more like 20. Even if it was 40 min it would have been worth the wait! We did the sashimi lovers AYCE (41 bucks a person). We got 2 miso soups, 5 appetizers, 18 pieces of sashimi, salmon carpachio, and 4 rolls Total damage with 2 ice teas was 90 bucks. Ala carte that would have been closer to 200.00. The best thing we ate was the Cajun Garlic tuna roll! That's was amazing. Stuffed mushrooms were also delicious! The sashimi was so fresh! The salmon delight was our least favorite but we should have known better, we don't normally do fruit (mango) with savory. As unforgettable as that meal was, the service was the true star of the night! Everyone was so friendly and the food came out super fast. All you can eat sushi!!!! A dream come true! My friends and I went here for dinner and it did not disappoint! The way it works is that there are three tiers of pricing/ sushi that you can do/order. The first one is just the rolls, second tier rolls and sashimi, and third tier no limited on the menu! My boyfriend isn't a fan of the sashimi so the rolls and sides were perfect for him. I on the other hand LOVE sashimi and got the seared tuna and yellowtail. They were some of the best I've had! The fish is fresh and the rolls are paired very well. For those who aren't a huge on raw fish they do have sides of pot stickers, fried rice, noodles, and ramen as well. We also got same sake with our meal. I apologize that I forgot the names but they were Apple and strawberry flavored. The only advice I would recommend is taking your time ordering. Don't order the max all at once... that was our mistake... just order a few at a time because after all it is an ALL YOU CAN EAT! They do charge a percentage for any leftover food. The entire experience was average at best. They have a lot of people running around working hard, but service is ok at best. Sushi was ok at best. Drinks were barely cold at best. I don't feel I paid an extremely high price for sushi, but when you pay for all you can eat, order just three rolls because it's only two of us and then have our waitress tell us there will be a 20% "restocking fee" because we didn't eat enough of the roll we didn't like.... That's crazy. I did listen to the rules when they sat us (by the way it takes about 5 minutes to have the waiter explain the entire process to you) and I understand having measures in place to stop crazy ordering, but when we only order three rolls and you charge me the fee, that's just bad judgement and setting yourself up for reviews like this. Very very delicious! Highly recommend coming to Crazy Tuna for all you can eat sushi! Crazy Tuna is the best if you and your group are looking to eat delicious sushi and a lot of it. There are different options your table can choose - all rolls, all sushi & roll, or everything (sushi, rolls and sashimi). Your entire table has to get the same deal. There are a ton of tables inside and you can make reservations ahead of time if you have a big party. If ONE diner is eating all you can eat sushi, ALL diners at the TABLE must eat the All-You-Can-Eat at the same Sushi tier When I began to order, I saw that they had a kids pricing for the all you can eat on the main menu. Not having known the above fact, because the rules are only on the order sheets for the all you can eat selection you chose (see pic), which were not even on our table at the time. I asked if I could apply the all you can eat Kid's price for my daughter. WAITRESS: "She is not under 4 feet tall" ME: "Ok well then can she just order 1 roll for herself, she can't eat more than that" WAITRESS: "No, she must order the same all you can eat selection as everyone" Apparently the above rule still applies for kids, no exceptions. Well I wasn't going to have my daughter sit outside while we eat or sit in the corner at a separate table. So I basically paid $30 for her to eat 1 California Roll. My daughter likes sushi but can't eat that much. Kids under 4 feet tall these days are usually 7 years old or younger. If you are 4 feet and taller you pay for the full adult price. Tell me a 7 year old who is going to eat more than one whole roll? You will be paying $30 for your 8 year old eat with you. Just sayin. Side note: Drinks not incuded on the AYCE selection and they do not have any dessert options for the AYCE menu. Waitresses were busy cleaning and setting tables and did not notice we needed assistance at times. They need to get bussers to do that so waitresses can focus on the patrons. They called my bluff when I was going to pop in on their soft opening of May 1st only to have them say the opening had been pushed back to May 5th. And then it was pushed back another few days. Then I forgot about them for a while... And then we had a Sushi Sunday for a party of six. For the most part, the food was good. Everybody was especially enamored by the Mango Tango Roll and the unagi they served was amazing. Others, like the Salmon Ceviche Roll, were a miss. Majority of the rolls were mainly filled with imitation crab and that lack of variety made eating uninteresting after a while. Also, I don't know what they do to their food but all of us were pretty dehydrated the whole night after dinner. I hate to be the first one to give this location a bad review especially on their soft opening night but I have to. We walked in at 7:15 pm and waited for the hostess to come on over and check us in. It wasn't too busy inside as we saw that there were a few empty tables. The hostess took our name down and said she would give us a call in about an hour or so to sit us down. We left our number and figured we would get the call around 8:15. Perfect we thought since on their door it's listed that they close at 10:30pm. We sat outside and waited the whole hour. Went inside at around 8:30 to ask how much longer since we hadn't received our call. The hostess was standing in the front and we went up to her to ask about how much longer it would be. She looked at us and just said WE'RE CLOSED NOW. No sorry, nothing. No "oh hey sorry for making you guys wait an hour and a half and not even giving you guys a call to say that we closed at 8pm." *eyeroll* Sooooooo unorganized and unprofessional. I know it's their soft opening night and nights like these are used to work out their kinks but this incident could've been avoided. She could've just not put us on the list at 7:15 pm when she knew they were closing down at 8. (Their hours say 10:30pm though) Oh well. It seems more of a gimmick being "all you can eat." The sashimi and nigiri quality was good. The ramen was mediocre. It seems every roll has crab sticks, which I try to avoid. We got there early and it filled up pretty quickly, with a noticeable degradation (SLOW to inattentive) in service. I ordered a second round and never got the sashimi I ordered, even after several inquiries. I was told the chef was very busy several times. Meanwhile I asked to add a roll to my order since I was waiting. I was told that would count as my third round. Fine by me. I got that roll but never did get the sashimi. I guess it takes a lot to cut 4 pieces of fish. To top it all, there are rules. Rules about how many pieces of sashimi, nigiri and rolls one can order per round. And you can only order 3 rounds. That's not quite "all you can eat" by any stretch. To be fair, I wouldn't be able to eat that much without being extremely gorged. But it claims to be all you can eat. More like all you SHOULD eat. Price was in line with my other sushi joints in Chandler. So for that reason, this place is average in my view. read more
