CRC ( Carlos Rodriguez Sr. and Jr.--it's a family business) and their crew did all the following for us over the last few months: Cleanup of back yard. Removal of an invasive acacia tree in the front yard (plus teardown of an RV driveway and surrounding fence next to the tree). Construction of a side fence and gate. Landscaping of the front yard--I wanted a low-maintenance mix of areas with sun/shade plants set off by gravel, Japanese maples, and a flagstone path leading from the side gate to the front walkway. Carlos Jr. was great about communicating via email and his dad and crew boss, Carlos Sr., helped in many ways, including selecting maples and locating a source for gravel when the local vendor ran out. Carlos and his team are the absolute best! Three years ago we had them redo our grass / sod and they did a stellar job, additionally removing an old cement planter and dying tree for us. We've used them for weekly maintenance over the past few years and they are always on time and often go the extra mile (e.g. getting down to pull weeds in cracks even). Fast forward to now, we recently did a home remodel and decided to redo our backyard with artificial turf. Carlos and his son came out the same weekend I contacted them, prepared with turf samples (very high quality options!) and offered advice on a few other items I was interested in: pergola, planter, new plants. They provided me a quote that same day (very reasonable!) and began work Monday. To say they exceeded my expectations would be an understatement. They are extremely hard workers who show up early, leave late, and are perfectionists in everything they do. They prepared and installed new fake grass, custom built a modern redwood pergola from scratch, built a planter box (suggested cement and stucco for quality looks / cost savings), redid our irrigation, and picked out plants based on my Pinterest board inspiration. But after speaking with Carols, I decided to go ahead with him and canceled the last appointment. My first meeting with Carlos was very straightforward and easy. There was a sense of ease to our meeting. That's one of the reason I chose CRC. The quote was reasonable and the whole process from demolition to completion was easy peasy. More importantly, Carlos listened and was very responsive to my texts with requests and questions (sometimes even in the late PMs). I am perplexed. I saw CRC's maintenance truck in my area and read positive reviews on Yelp, so I called for an estimate. It required two calls and messages before I caught Carlos Jr on the phone. Father and son came to review our front and back garden for major makeover. They promised a plan the following week. After two weeks passed, I called again and required two more calls before catching Carlos on the phone again. He promised to meet Friday night at 6:00. On Friday Carlos was a NO SHOW and no call to cancel or reschedule. I have called two more times and left unanswered messages. I guess they are not interested in their business. Carlos and team worked to remodel our back yard, and did fantastic work. They weeded and tilled the existing area, then graded it appropriately and outlined the sections with landscape board. A new copper pipe hose bib was installed in a corner of the yard, and irrigation lines were laid along the perimeter planting and lawn areas. They were able to help deliver the plants from the nursery, and staked trees for extra support during planting. New pathway, sod, and mulch materials were also delivered and installed.
