I went back to this spa due to on-going pain problems due to a car accident with my wrist & shoulder, both of which I had surgery on, they were doing better but not completely healed. Sandie hooked me up with an amazing massage therapist who advised me of another therapy that might help with the discomfort & pain I had been experiencing. I had been wearing a wrist brace for most of 3 years & saw no end in sight. Due to the therapists recomendation and treatment I have now been wrist brace free for almost a year now. We left feeling very deceived. Do not believe the Yelp pictures. It gives the illusion this is a professional spa place, but in reality it's someone's converted apartment!!! I brought my boyfriend in for the couples massage. Online, it said we were going to have the beach cabana space and have a nice massage on the beach. Sounded fantastic. Instead, we got a massage in a crowded cabana on their backyard patio!!! When we arrived, here's what happened: 1) We got there on time. No one was at the reception. After waiting 10 min, two ladies showed up. On top of that, this was a converted apartment turned into a business!! It's like going into someone's condo. 2) one lady told the other one to put some chocolate chips in the chocolate fondue fountain. She put them in and then I SAW her EAT some with her hands and then lick her fingers!! WTF. How do you serve that to customers? 3) we were led into another room to get dressed. Really awkward place to get dressed... They had us change in an open area, and it seemed like people were walking in and out. Wow very uncomfortable. 4) we were then taken outside to our "beach Cabana". It was a small tent/Home Depot cabana set up in the corner of her apartment patio!!!! Totally not the beach experience that was advertised! She told me that it was because it was cold, which is why we were setup in her patio? Makes no sense to me. 5) the massage itself was okay, not bad. The whole time we heard cars driving by... NOT the waves or the ocean. I guess you can pretend those are the sound of waves. So much for a "beach cabana" massage. 6) after the massage, we felt very greasy. Not sure what they rubbed all over our bodies. We were then brought to the sauna. I was in there for a couple minutes then left to use the bathroom. Upon my return, they came to me and said it was over. Um... Ok thanks for the few minutes in there. 7) the owner took us to the same large room where we were supposed to be changing. There were two ladies in there, which the owner then told them to get out. We were about it to change and right when I was undressing the owner walked in and asked how we were doing. Are u kidding me??? How can I feel comfortable when I'm told to change and then the owner comes in 2 minutes later. 8) we were given champagne and two strawberries with chocolate at the end. There was hair on my plate. Overall, it was not a good experience. I feel very lied to. I asked on the phone before I booked it and was told it was beach massage. LIES. If u want a massage NEAR the water and on a patio, then this is the place for you. Also, so overpriced!!!! And so below expectations. It was such an awkward place. I can't review the yoga or pilates, but I can say that I was pleasantly surprised by the body scrub I received. I've been needing a good exfoliation, and I normally like to go into K-Town to get a good scrubbing, but I really wanted a more relaxed experiece. I had a lot of trouble finding body scrubs in West LA that wouldn't cost a fortune, and I was happy to find this place. I was able to reserve an appointment online, which was great. I got a call within a couple of hours to finalize times and discuss any health issues. From a logistical standpoint, that was awesome. When I arrived at the studio, Sandie the owner met me. She was a little distracted since they just opened, but was very courteous. She took me to another room for my treatment. I met Sonja, my therapist. We sat and talked for a couple of minutes to discuss what I was looking for, and that was a real plus for me. I really liked how she took the time to talk to me beforehand. The treatment was great. It was called "The Sandy Beach". It started with a dry brush. Then Sonja massaged some oil into my body and sprinkled salt on me. Then she massaged the salt scrub. When she was done, she asked me to rinse off in the shower. Then she finished with a massage with some sort of moisturizing oil. Overall, I thought it was a good experience. Creative Chakra is a great little spa, a hop skip and a jump from the ocean, in Venice. The facility is inviting and calming. You can see and hear the ocean. All of their massages are priced the same so you don't have to think about your pocket book. Only think of what is best for your body and mind. They emphasize a wholistic approach to their therapy. The staff is courteous and knowledgeable. What's nice is everyone can use the facilities that include hot tub (no time machine) and sauna. I was really looking for a nice place by the beach that could accommodate me the same day because I was going to be in the area for a lunch meeting. It was hands down the best ever! I'm new to massages, don't really like people touching my back-but the laid back atmosphere ( beach breeze doesn't hurt either) helped to put me at ease. One of the best treatments I experienced was the Indian Head Massage and Oil in the third eye, with the massage. It was a real eye opening... and helped with relaxing and to have more of a conscious state after the treatment... We came here to celebrate my husband's birthday to have a nice relaxing experience on February 8, and my husband's shoulder is still in such pain from the horribly inexperienced masseuse who messed it up! Let me start with the good: the location is nice as it's a few steps away from the beach, and the salad they served us at the end was absolutely delicious. Now, here is the rest of our impression of Creative Charkra spa: -False advertising -Very disorganized -Dirty and grungy -Inexperienced/Terrible masseuses False Advertising The place looks so much nicer in the pictures. In real life it is tiny and a dingy looking place. The spa boasts ocean views, but like other reviewers pointed out, it was nowhere to be found. You'd have to step out of the spa and actually walk to the beach to get an ocean view. Whatever, it wasn't a deal breaker for me but just don't advertise ocean views since people tend shell out more cash for a better view. Very disorganized. When I spoke to the owner on the phone about how my husband wanted a male therapist and I wanted a female, she was like "yea yea yea we ALWAYS do that." Well this was not the case as our massage therapists immediately assumed that I'd want to go with the male and my husband would want to be with the female. I had to interrupt them and let them know that we requested the opposite, and they were like "well it's always done this way, people usually like having an opposite sex working on them." okay well, at least ask us what we prefer first, and this shows that the owner did not do a good job communicating what we wanted. I was left being worked on a very uncomfortable table that did not support my neck properly even though we tried multiple times to adjust it, the female therapist said she couldn't do anything about it since she could only work on a lower table. Again, had the owner relayed our preferences, a proper massage table could've been accommodated as this table was clearly meant for a man with a much larger head. Another example is that our two masseuses seemed to not communicate with each other properly and it seemed like neither one knew what to do or how to set us up before the massage and after. We didn't even get to enjoy sitting outside in the patio. The whole thing didn't feel like a proper experience, it was lacking a proper flow. It felt very hurried and disorganized. Dirty and grungy -The bathroom was dirty -The sheets and robes smelled and had stains on them -The jacuzzi was not at all like a spa jacuzzi, it was like those cheap backyard tubs. There were bottles of cleaners and plastic hangers around the tub, which added to the grunge factor. I don't expect this from a so called luxurious spa. The inexperienced, terrible masseuse My husband and I are absolutely certain that his masseuse was inexperienced. He was odd, and always frazzled and never seemed to know what he was doing. We gave him the benefit of the doubt, but after my husband received the worst massage of his life from him that kept his shoulder injured still to this day16 days and counting, I had to draw the line and write this review to let others know to be careful. My masseuse thankfully didn't injure me, but it was fairly obvious she had no idea what she was doing. I get massages about once a week, and I'm not kidding when I say that was the worst massage of my life as well. I wasn't shy about letting her know if I wanted her to give more pressure or not, she just didn't know what to do and pressed and poked randomly. I was glad it was over. Overall, the money doesn't justify the experience at all. Even in Beverly Hills spas you get much more for your money with an actual luxurious experience. I do not recommend this place. read more

I highly recommend this spa to all my friends, it is unique in every way. I know about top notch spas as my Mom had one of the best ones in Chicago. We were running late and the spa was accommodating, our package was for 2 hours, but we stayed for 3 at no additional cost. They are steps from the beach, so we took a walk down there for sunset. Pros: Tons of Privacy, Excellent Body Work, Private use of Jacuzzi or Sauna (who does that!), Inviting Atmosphere, Pleasing Decor, Free street parking Cons: Not easy to find because it's at the beach. My boyfriend surprised me for my birthday with a special trip to the Creative Chakra Spa. I was greeted by the owner Sandie who welcomed me and educated me on the benefits of chakra healing. It was an innovative experience as Jackie, my massage therapist used various oils to massage and balance my chakras. Jackie helped to clear some blockage around my heart chakra which left me feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. After my massage my boyfriend and I relaxed and enjoyed the amenities of the day spa including the hot tub and sitting area. Overall is was an informative, relaxing, rejuvenating, and romantic experience. DONT DO IT! I REPEAT DO NOT DO IT! Ok now that I got that off my chest please don't be fooled. My husband made the mistake of bringing me here for a couples massage after seeing pictures on an ad. The pictures are completely false advertising. First off It's an apartment building and the entrance is off the alley way. No parking and if you know Marina Del Rey it's an absolute hassle. One of the masseuse (Im guessing it's not the owner or the one in charge) was not very nice or welcoming. Just very condescending tone in her voice almost like she was annoyed we were there. Very awkward exchanges. When my husband turned around to grab the towel I noticed she made a nasty face at him. Completely rude. The room was pretty much set up in the balcony with no views other than the alleyway and the back of a building. You could hear the neighbors talk, tvs, music etc. The massage felt rushed and I did not enjoy it all. What absolutely blew my mind was when my husband was going to pay, the owner or whoever is in charge had the audacity to tell him there is a mandatory 20% tip ON TOP OF THE $350 she charged him ! Wow ! I could've fainted with how pissed I was at her unprofessionalism! Ever have I had that happen EVER! I was pissed at my husband for falling for this scam to begin with. $400 down the drain in one hour for a crappy massage from 2 people with crappy attitudes in a crappy place. Paid Sandy (the "SPA" owner) $630.00 for a couples massage. It was my anniversary and invited my wife. I'm pretty embarrassed now , even to tell my lousy experience here publicly. But I think You all should know about my stupidity and what to expect if you decide going to this "SPA". Booked the 4 hour Bliss Therapy Ayurveda Couples massage which promises an ultimate spa experience with 2 (two) therapists massaging each person in a sunny garden suite, & much more, etc. etc.etc. - read description- The owner Sandy greets us with a little cup of peppermint tea on the outside narrow veranda, asked a few questions to determine our Dosha, guess that's what she calls "consultation" and then introduces us to the masseur. ONE masseur NOT FOUR (4) as booked, promised and described. Location is in a run down multi unit building on Pacific in Venice CA. You will notice immediately that is not really clean at all, once you walk inside. It's Actually the entire space is dirty. Sandy herself wears a old t-shirt over a disheveled yoga stretch pant. Then she brings you to the "sunny garden suite" which is really a small balcony covered with an old canopy tent. There's all sort of messy decoration around, a miniscule sauna squeezed in a corner , plus another old small infrared sauna and a small dirty tub covered with a Home Depot tarp. The two massage tables back to back are covered with moldy smelling discolored flannel sheets. The masseur does a decent job for over an hour an then its my turn to do the 3rd eye oil drip. It consist of oil running over your forehead and Sandy scrubbing your hair until your entire head is dripping wet in oil. Meanwhile this is supposed to last an hour while Sandy mumbling some chakra mantra and telling you to enjoy , let go and relax. But you can hear the neighbors talking and slamming doors on the first floor and the traffic noise on Pacific avenue is unbearably loud. She offers the use of the bathroom and shower , which consist of a 5ftx5ft hole, blueish walls painted with clouds , the plastic shower is dirty , once I took the shower the whole floor was flooded bcs. the moldy shoer curtain is too short. Sandy gives you a old dirty white towel and invites me to take a "relaxing" bath with my wife in that old mini tub and drink 99c champagne. At that point I'm so disgusted and grossed out and tell my wife if she doesn't mind to cut this whole thing short. Still polite I tell Sandy that I'm overwhelmed and we had enough "experience". I fell kind of pity to speak out and call her out on this fraud. Figure she's just a swindler and I fell for it. If you don't believe me just go there. It's worse then I can express in words. I thought about getting my money back but my wife said that although it was kind of super gross , she was ok with the massage and she liked my gesture & idea of inviting her to a couples retreat. I called for a last minute appointment after a stressful day, and she made it happen. Beyond providing me a relaxing massage via one of her wonderful therapists, Rasa, she threw in a free sit in her infrared sauna. Thank you Sandie and Rasa for bringing about a wonderful conclusion to an otherwise trying afternoon. I'd like to address some of the poor reviews, as they seem to be by silly people making silly complaints. The location is lovely, and literally steps away from the beach. No, you can't see the beach from your massage table, but you'd be paying quite a lot more in a spa situated directly on the ocean and the prices here are reasonable for all you get. For those complaining of the massage lacking firmness: you have an opportunity prior to your session to customize it...Your failure to communicate is not the therapist's failure to provide. Moreover, anyone complaining of the service is out of their mind--it's top notch and I felt well cared for from the moment I entered to the moment I left. There's only one business in the Marina peninsula and this one is it. You can lay on the beach 50 feet from the spa,come in, meditate and get a deep tissue massage from Melissa, relax, take a infrared sauna, have some yummy cool flavored water and never feel rushed. I even enjoyed the vitamin C shower which I have never even heard of before. But it was Sandi West's healing hands and energy that took away the sharp pain in my shoulder and neck today. We went to this spa for my birthday as it was just a walk away from our Airbnb and most spas were closed for COVID. I think the issue with this place is that it's marketed like a luxury spa experience. We were told it's right on the beach which was extremely misleading as you couldn't even see the beach from it and it was along a noisy street. The surrounding noise made it difficult to relax and it seemed very amateur like. They were using an old stereo to play music which broke down multiple times while we were there and cause scary fluctuations of volume. We waited outside for a good 15 minutes before the lady gave us tea, which really should have been ready when we arrived. The massage therapist, while extremely sweet, seemed very inexperienced. She wouldn't repeat the same things on each side. When she massaged my neck, it was the wrong area so she was pressing down against my windpipe, making it hard to breathe. Honestly my best friend gives me better massages. I am giving two stars since the head massage was nice. I felt like everything was prepared right when we got there. They were running around getting things ready and at one point it seemed like the therapist and owner were arguing. It was awkward. To top things off the owner at the end was like I'll charge 20% tip okayy? Like no! The prices you charge are comparable to a luxury hotel spa and it's ridiculous for the mediocre services you provide. My advice? Lower your prices, market honestly, and invest in some training. read more

What a beautiful and relaxing respite from the daily stressors of life!! On a mini-vacation from the East Coast, my boyfriend and I were staying at a nearby AirB&B for a few days. We kept walking by Creative Chakra Spa, on our way to town and the beach, wondering about the services. So, we finally called and spoke to the owner, Sandie West, who booked us a couples massage at 12 PM that day itself. When we arrived, Sandie greeted us with chakra information and cards; so, we could each do a reading before our massages began. She offered us water and then, led us to the back where we met Erin and Julie, our massage therapists. The massage space is very open with sunlight peeking in, yet very relaxing and calming. We each disrobed and got under the sheets for our massages. I soon completely forgot about my boyfriend and fell asleep as Julie worked out the kinks in my neck, shoulders and hips. Ahhh... After our amazing massages, Julie and Erin told us to take our time and that we were welcome to don robes, take showers and hit the jacuzzi or sauna. We chose the jacuzzi, which was on a deck, but covered with flowy sheets for canopy and privacy. We sat drinking lemon water, letting the jacuzzi jets continue to caress our loosened muscles. We didn't want to leave! Sandie, Erin and Julie treated us like royalty, never rushing us and making us feel at home. Their prices are extremely affordable. Discouraged and grossed out I called to cancel the appt- Sandie, the "CEO" talked me into giving the spa a chance and told me that she had to call in an extra aesthetician who was already in an Uber on her way. Out of respect for the aesthetician I decided to go. When I arrived I was completely horrified..the place was filthy and resembled the home of a hoarder..there was crap covering every inch of the room. At this point, it's my fault I didn't leave. When I was taken in for the facial there was no aesthetician to be found, no one had taken an Uber to be here. It was Sandie who would perform the facial-do you even have a license to practice? You are a con artist and a liar and you should be ashamed of taking advantage of people for a living. It was hardly a facial that I received- more like 20 minutes of sloppy workmanship, zero attention to detail and lots of mindless shuffling around the room while I lay there with my eyes covered. I left with green residue on my face and hairline along with itchy skin. When it was finally over you graciously gave yourself an undeserved 20% tip on my card which was truly tasteless and unbelievable. The worst experience I've ever had at a "spa", if you can even call it that. This place feels like a scam. My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and wanted to book a last minute massage, so we went with Creative Chakra Spa as a more modest option to say, Burke Williams. It was still like $100 per person. All of the negative reviews on here are legit, and they sound just like the experience we had: 1) Owner was erratic and aggressive. She rushed us around the whole time. She walked into our room twice while we were disrobing and I felt like I had to hide in a corner. This is because her office was only accessible through the treatment room. She also came into the room during the massage to ask if we wanted a facial, and put hot towels on our faces. Odd. 2) The facility is a converted condo that's dirty and, I suspect, not up to code. There were extension cords running everywhere, and sheets hanging from the walls to separate spaces. 3) The massages SUCKED. My therapist had either severely cracked skin or long nails that were scratching me, and she injured my forearm muscle so badly it hurt for two days. My husband's therapist was wearing dirty clothes. 4) The music kept skipping and the therapists kept stopping the massages to fix it and were bickering. 5) The package included a sauna session afterward, which was not pre-heated, so we were shivering in 65 degree weather to wait for it to come up to 100 degrees. 6) The shower/bathroom is a dark, dirty and small. 7) The towels were old and crusty. 8) The ocean view is a blantant lie. read more

I had booked a couples massage and dinner for my anniversary and I wish I had gone elsewhere. The facility was old and filled with thrift store junk, the massages were not therapeutic or relaxing, the bathroom shower head didn't work, the multi course dinner was a soup and salad likely out of a box, the hot tub was luke warm, there was no reference to healing chakras, it was dirty, therapists seemed to lack training; you get the picture. The place is cute, if you were paying $50, but for almost $400 it's crap (note that regular price is $550?! WHAT?!)! We went there to get a fireside massage - no fire in sight while we were getting the massages by two of the worst masseuses we have ever had! Seriously, it's the day after today and we both can't move and the bruises I've gotten are so ridiculous you'd think I've been beaten with a bamboo stick. The massage was so painful, so uncomfortable I was counting the minutes until it was over. We arrived at 6:30 and were greeted by the owner. Again, very sweet - offered us some chilled red wine and had us fill out paperwork. After over an hour wait, we were led into a room and were told that this is where we would be getting the massage. I explained that we booked the fireside massage and she made a bunch of excuses and I asked how much longer to wait for that and she said about 30 min. We offered to go get a drink nearby and would return when they were ready for us. We figured our plans were already ruined, so we should just make the best of it. We weren't called back until an hour later! By the time we got to our massage tables it was 8:30. No discounts were offered for the wait and the jacuzzi we were offered afterwards was placed right under neighboring windows (can't say if anyone was there), so we just skipped that altogether. We both had a feeling that we were guinea pigs for 2 completely inexperienced young people. The place lacks organization, it's dingy and definitely NOT romantic - they've tried to hide messes with curtains, and it just doesn't work. We really felt super sad having spent all that money to make Valentine's special, but hey, it was an experience. Something we're trying to laugh off. read more

I want to share my incredibly positive experiences at Creative Chakra. Sandie and her staff are so welcoming and made me feel relaxed immediately. I've had several massages from Dana, who is amazing and actually helped me immensely in healing from an injury I sustained from an accident. She is easy to communicate with about what I'm feeling, and I was happy to zone out and let her do her thing. The infared sauna and hot tub are really nice, and I spent time in each after my massage. I love this place and plan on adding it to my routine. It's a great way to connect with a loved one or some girl friends. You literally have the whole place to yourself and it's so relaxing. I loved how there was no pressure to hurry up and we were allowed to take our time. I highly recommend doing a couples treatment. On my last day in LA I found this place and was able to book the anti-aging facial (30+) - just as my 32nd is approaching --- and WHAT a REVELATION it was! Pat gave me the best facial experience ever and was even able to extend to another 30min neck and shoulder massage bc she realized how tense I was. Her shiatsu facial massage relieved so many points of pressure for me, I walked out of there feeling renewed and completely relaxed! If I had more time on my last day, I would have happily spent the whole day and gotten a full body massage. I will do so if I come back to LA but really highly recommend Pat, thank you - kob kun ka!! Hands down amazing massage! I called for a last minute massage, while staying in the area. Was able to take a nice stroll. The only reason for the 4 stars, is loud music and exhaust noise for cars. I went to Creative Chakra Spa to use the hydrotherapy bath because I had been under a lot of stress. I couldn't believe how beautiful the facilities were inside. I felt like I was transported to another place. From the bathroom to the massage rooms. I was given a fluffy bath robe and some slippers. I took a shower and then proceeded to the hydrotherapy bath. I must have stayed in there for an hour. It was so relaxing the environment the music. I am coming back! read more
