She focused on the fundamentals of photography, unlocking the mysteries of my new DSLR camera for me. Tracey's lessons were clear, easy-to-understand and FUN! I started taking photography classes every week with Santino this January- and 5 months later I cannot believe how much I have learned. I used to take photos in automatic mode and the pictures were dull and not interesting at all. Once I learned from this class how to properly use my camera in manual mode, the quality of my photos has improved dramatically! Even my family cannot believe the difference. I have two small children and love to cook, so capturing photos of them and my recipes has always been important to me, and now I have the skills to photograph them on my own in manual mode versus the camera deciding how to do it in automatic mode. Also Santino will challenge you to get creative and help you develop an eye for what makes a great photo, which is what I value the most. Now when I turn on my camera I don't just mindlessly take a photo, but I know how to properly look for the right lighting, where to place my subjects, and also to look for the appropriate backgrounds. This has been a game changer for me. I am so glad I found these classes and look forward to keep practicing what I have learned so far, and to hopefully take the next class to keep improving. read more

I have been a student here for about two years and Tracy at CPW is the real deal. Working photographer with many years experience in the business. You learn not only the technical side of photography but she helps encourage you creatively. On top of that, you learn to develop your eye in working with the other students in class, discussing their work and getting feedback. Im a mother of a 1 year old girl and as you can imagine I didn't want to miss any moment of her life, so I decided to give it a try. Tracey and Santino are the consumate professionals and wonderful teachers. I have just returned from a 10 day photo trip to Sicily with them and a range of colleagues from other of their classes. The trip was fabulous- great accomodations, great food (how can you go wrong in Sicily) terrific photo venues- from ancient Greek ruins to Santino's birth village. As a relatively new photographer, I was able to learn so much from both more advanced colleagues and from Tracey and Santino. They were available to help and answer questions whenever needed. Just back from an incredible Sicily tour with Tracey and Santino! Santino is a native Sicilian & we were treated to an "off the beaten path" view of Sicily from a native son. We visited small towns and villages far from the usual tourist spots and ate like Sicilains! Two hour lunches, two hour dinners. Lots of laughter and camaraderie. Spontaneous surprises included a lunch in Cefalu with an additional treat /concert of traditional Mediterranean songs. We stayed at a lovely cove with a wild beach in Cefalu, Le Calette which was easy walking distance to town. Our adventures included a range of venues from small towns, ancient ruins to thriving multicultural cities. Non photographer spouses also had a good time. We had reviews sessions and learned a lot from our fellow photographers. We look forward to sharing more of our photographs and returning to our summer classes/sessions with Tracey and Santino. read more

Best workshop best people. Tracey was great! Her two hour workshop covered the same if not more information than my FOUR years of undergrad as a media photo major. She is a great teacher and presents the info with great detail in a fashion easy to remember and apply to your own photography! Courses here are top notch. The material is presented in a hands-on manner with lectures kept to a minimum while learning is not. I came in loving photography, but with a pretty basic knowledge. In 3 classes Santino had us shooting on manual mode and doing a pretty decent job of it for first timers. I've now taken 2 series of classes and see my photographs improving weekly both in technical skill and creativity. It's also a luxury to have classes that are small in size so there is a lot of individual attention. I can't recommend CPW any higher than 5 starts or I would. read more

My teen daughter took a class with Santino a few years ago & then we lost contact. We were on the lookout for him and my daughter who took classes else where kept insisting that Santino was the best teacher out there. Taking private classes from Tracey Landworth was the best decision I made toward improving my photography skills. You are fooling yourself if you think you can self-teach all you need to know via YouTube. Tracey is an amazing educator, she is committed to helping her students understand and execute the material and assignments she presents to her students. What I learned from my one-on-one experience with Tracey, I would not have learned on YouTube. I took the teen class with Tracey's husband, Santino, and it was fantastic. Having had zero experience with photography, I barely knew how to use a camera, much less how to take a decent shot. Since the class was only a week, I came in expecting only to learn the basics, but I left having full control of my camera. I learned about the relationship between aperture, ISO, and shutter speed. I learned how to take portraits, what constitutes good lighting, and how to photograph a moving object. Santino was articulate and able to explain these complex topics in an easy to understand manner. After taking this class I went to Italy on an exchange program. The pictures I took were stunning. I will now always have perfect pictures to remember my stay abroad. Tracey and Santino are a lovely couple that teach photography at an extraordinary level. I would recommend this class to anyone interested in learning photography. read more
