This place was a nice surprise for me... we were shopping at the Tsawwassen Mills Mall and looking for a quick bite that is filling and not greasy. We ended up with a ham and cheese crepes. It has two eggs, good amount of cheddar cheese, and generous helping of cubed smoked ham. It quite filling and almost last us the whole afternoon. My little one was very happy with their yummy strawberry gelato!

Ordered Nutella strawberry crepes, and they were both delicious and beautifully crafted! The man making the crepes is an artist

It was huge (16oz) , full of apple pie chunks and very delicious indeed. They also have patio seats to let you eat your ice cream while looking at the beach. Maya's at White Rock Beach is my go-to for gelato when I come down here in the summer…read more The ice-cream is popular here as well judging by the foot traffic & big smiles on people's faces after each lick. I find it a convenient spot for my cool down treat as it's on the strip right close to the foot of White Rock Pier, Canada's longest. Ask for samples first before you settle on a flavour or two. My favourite for gelato right now is still Bella Gelateria, in Vancouver. Maya's selection of gelato is limited, but 100% worth it especially when it's 35°C / 95F outside. There's plenty of restaurants nearby as well with several fish & chip spots & burger joints. Parking is a challenge along the entire strip, but if you're patient, unlike me, you'll find a spot so worry not. Keep in mind that the strip which runs along the beach, draws heavy traffic. We were pleasantly surprised that they offer guests access to their full drink menu including their specials. Ube matcha was good, but had a hint of cinnamon which we could have gone without. The matcha mango was also good. The blackberry lavender matcha was too floral for our liking. However, eventually you get used to it and then it becomes more enjoyable. The pandesals were super fresh and we loved both the ube and strawberry butters that came with it. I wish that they came a bit warmer, so that the butters could have melted a touch. I thoroughly enjoyed all 3 sandwiches. I especially loved the arugula on the mozerella sandwich. The blackberry brie sandwich could have used a touch more brie, but was still delicious. The cheesecakes were good, but a bit too sweet. The strawberry was my favorite. I enjoyed tasting multiple flavors. Their red velvet cupcake was extremely moist. The pistachio malasada was cute and flavorful. The filling to pastry ratio was good. I think that the experience could have been better balanced if there were a few more savory items. One thing that we noticed was that all of the pastries including the malasada were cold. I can understand that there are some food safe requirements that need to be met in how desserts are stored. However, letting them sit out for even 20-30 minutes before consumption would have been better.

I tried both of the hot chocolate drinks to make the trip worth while. There was the Tiki Torched Brûlée Bliss that has an brûlée donut and sugar coated fruit skewers. And there was the That Flan-tastic Purple Yam that has a tune (purple yam) flavour theme and stacked with lostof Filipino desserts like flan, pandesal, and ube cup cake. Both drinks were on the sweeter side and perfect for those who have an extra sweet tooth!

A cozy Taiwanese family restaurant serving a nice selection of Taiwanese street food and desserts…read more We came here mainly for dessert and ordered the tofu pudding with yam balls. The tofu pudding was AMAZING - freshly made with a delicate soy milk flavor, silky smooth and melts in your mouth. The yam balls are equally impressive, nice yam flavor with just the right amount of chewiness. I could happily eat this all day!

Sweet Memory is a Taiwanese spot open late in Richmond with a convenient, shared parking lot…read more Overall, I'd say the savory food and boba felt like huge misses, but the shaved ice was super unique and delicious. I feel like their other dessert options probably have potential and I can see this being an excellent post dinner hang out spot. Turkey On Rice (3.75/5): Rice and gravy was tasty, but turkey was a bit overcooked and kinda chewy. Black Sesame Mochi (3.75/5): This came out piping hot and the flavors were good (can't go wrong with black sesame and peanuts), but the texture of the actual mochi wasn't as chewy as I like. Satisfying, but not anything special. Taiwanese Sausage on Sticky Rice (2/5): Not sure what the red sauce was, but I really was not a fan; too sweet and had a weird funk to it. Taiwanese sausage also didn't have the right texture or flavor, you want the signature big chunks of fat. Pineapple Shaved Ice (4/5): Decently fluffy shaved ice and the pineapple was candied like the inside of a pineapple cake. Grass jelly sat at the bottom of the bowl and added an extra satisfying jello texture. Traditional Fresh Milk Tea (1/5): Way too sweet and the tea flavor was kinda bland. Maybe the other drinks are better.
