However, the staff there told me there was no record of the gift card and claimed the gift card did not exist in the system after checking some index card file she had at the desk. She then questioned the origins of the card and told me to go get a receipt for the purchase of the gift card. Why do I need to present a receipt for the gift card I received as a gift? This was so laughably outrageous that I left. Don't patronize this shop, they take the cash from gift card sales and refuse to honor the gift card when you try to redeem it. It is a total scam. They take your money and pretend the gift card doesn't exist. I would not recommend even setting foot in this unreasonable store. ​​​​

First, their online customization platform is one of the most comprehensive and user-friendly solitaire design tool I've used (ability to customize metal, band width, setting style, prong style, and more) -- comparative to my other online shopping, I feel that this tool is unmatched in how detailed and customizable it is. On top of that, they provide support not only in-store, but also through private text communication, which made the entire process feel personal, modern, and incredibly convenient. I appreciate that I didn't have to make a trip in to get an early idea of how much their options might cost for the design I had in mind. I determined online, and via text that Fabri was a standout option, with pricing in the realm of my budget; so I came into the showroom. During my visit, Doug and Jacob were exceptionally attentive without being pushy -- the perfect balance. The showroom itself is impressive, with countless options for stone sizes, band widths, and settings. What stood out most was how creative and thoughtful they were in helping me visualize the ring I wanted, when the exact ring design that wasn't something they had on display. They pulled different samples from around the store, paired various band widths with multiple stone sizes, and walked me through every possibility with patience and expertise. I also asked about purchasing a stackable wedding band, and in a moment of genuine integrity, Doug actually advised, "I wouldn't order that right now -- wait until you finalize an engagement ring, then choose what pairs best with it." Any other jeweler could have tried to upsell immediately, but Doug and Jacob were clearly focused on what was truly best for their customers, not just making a sale. They didn't pressure me into a decision. Instead, they educated me, addressed concerns thoughtfully, and offered to follow up via text with a more detailed quote once I had processed everything we discussed. While I didn't make a purchase during this visit, I left extremely impressed and truly appreciative of the time, care, and professionalism they showed me. Wow. I am mystified how I could have had such a different experience than everyone else here! And…read moreseriously, I am generally a forgiving, understanding, and accommodating person; just look at my other reviews. However my 5 minutes in this jewelry shop was 5 of the most unpleasant minutes I've ever spent doing business with any retailer. Firstly, a large white dog was present who barked loudly and at length. I mean, loudly! The dog barked incessantly for some time after we arrived, then calmed down enough for me to converse with the jeweler, then ramped up again when another customer entered. My partner's Apple Watch told her that she was in a dangerously loud environment. The entire back half of the shop was gated off to provide a space for this dog. This no doubt colored my experience talking to the jeweler. I brought in a mid-century pearl necklace and bracelet set. It was clear that the necklace needed restringing but it appeared that the bracelet just needed a new clasp ring. The jeweler looked at the bracelet and said, "This needs restringing." I asked why it needed restringing and he repeated that it did need restringing. I asked why he couldn't just replace the ring, and he said, "because it needs to be soldered." I didn't see what that had to do with anything so I asked again and he said, "because it needs to be restrung." Holy moley. I asked again and he said, "because I need some string there to attach it to". I asked why he couldn't attach the ring to the other ring that was still attached to the pearls and he replied, "because it needs to be soldered." Now, I wasn't questioning his expertise. I just need to understand the work that is proposing. So I persisted and said, "Why can't you solder a ring on?" He said, "Because it would harm the pearl next to it." OK, that I can understand, but I felt exasperated that he hadn't been forthcoming. He then explained other reasons why it needed to be restrung. This was educational and interesting, and by then I was convinced that the piece needed to be restrung, but I was left with the feeling that he himself was exasperated with me. I think I would have rebounded from this had his dog not started barking loudly again at just that moment. It was impossible to speak over the barking, and no apology or explanation from the jeweler. The very presence of this dog felt like an insult to me as a customer. The jeweler then went and attended to the customer who'd just entered and spent about 3 minutes with her, without excusing himself from our interaction. I packed up my pearls and left because I knew I didn't want to ever enter that space again. Somehow the other customer was able to accomplish what she needed done despite the barking, and she departed with a smile on her face. She had her own [well behaved] dog so perhaps that gave her a pro-barking bias. I give two stars because this guy probably does excellent work like everyone else here says he does. Otherwise, negative stars for my experience.

I came to Marlow's after my mom gave me one of her old rings. It had seen much wear and love over…read morethe past 63 years, and I wanted to bring it new life while keeping its history. I had a project vision and Marlow's helped me bring it to life. I had the previous stone removed as it wasn't salvageable and replaced it with a Ruby Star Sapphire (mine and my mom's favorite), which they helped me by sourcing. They brought in a few choices and allowed me to pick which stone I felt best fit the project. The basket required reshaping and extra work, but they did it so that the Star Sapphire fits beautifully. I love that I can carry around a piece of my mom. The ring shines and the sapphire has three star lines with indoor lighting and one distinct bright star in the sun. I highly recommend Marlow's if you are needing someone to go above and beyond on a project! They truly excel in their craft and all staff are extremely warm and welcoming.
