What the HalitburtonChokesInTheFinalsLet'sGoThunder Yes it is legit an RV park with all your regular amenities BUT step inside and you'll be taken back in time. It reminds of me a homey, quite diner like you could go to back when you were a kid. The menu has a little of everything. I went with a Pastrami Burger with onion rings and my wife got the Chicken Picata. (They charge for ranch. Weeeird) The burger, delicious! Overflowing with generous amounts of crispy pastrami. The onion rings were sooooo good but unfortunately you only get 3 of them! The chicken picata was amazing. Tender breasts, creamy sauce, smooth mashed potatoes. Bomb! We ended the meal with shared peach cobbler. That was the only thing I did not like. I have had some amazing peach cobbler and this one was meh. Not enough crust. A little soggy. Food is amazing. Service is great. Beers are cold. Cobbler is mid, would not order that one again but we will be back for the amazing food and cool experience. read more

The Crest is a staple! It's CLOSING?!? I had lunch here today with some friends. How sad that they will be closed, permanently, on Friday. The food was delicious! Service was excellent. Our waitress checked on us regularly. Made sure our drinks were refilled and checked to see if we needed anything. Very comfortable atmosphere with tvs and lots of room. We went during happy hours and I ordered the loaded potato skins from the happy hour menu and the BloodyMary. We love this place. It's good American bar food. We had the bacon cheeseburger tonight. It came with an ample supply of fries. They do a wonderful job of splitting the plate for us. I want to give a huge shout out to Diane and Seth. (And staff who helped). I rented out the patio for my daughter's baby shower and it turned out great! Yes, my two girls and I decorated, but Diane and Seth got everything ready. Seth stayed on top of everything. They rearranged tables and chairs and placed everything like I needed it. I ordered appetizers to come out first, which was spinach artichoke dip, with fruit and veggies. Then when it was time to eat, it was a buffet style deep pit, chili beans, and potato salad. With a sweet roll. Everything tasted delicious. You had a choice of bbq or salsa, and let's just say the guests were all happy. They also provided water, tea, and lemonade. If anyone wanted something else to drink, they could go right in and order a drink or two, lol! It was a great day and I highly recommend if you are looking for a venue to go check out their patio. They have plenty of shade and fans. 8/27/24-The three stars is almost all about service and ownership. Came in for dinner with three. Sat immediately. Didn't take the server more than 5 minutes to get our drinks and then take our food order. He came back out about 10 minutes later and told me they can't make the drink on the menu anymore. Ordered another drink. Nightly special chicken cordon blue, French dip and a chicken sandwich. 40 minutes later they bring out the food. Mine was wrong, they gave be mashed potatoes instead of a baked potato. I asked the server. He took my whole plate, I told the other people at my table to eat no need in their food getting cold. The server finally came back by and I asked if I could have the rest of my food back and them just bring the potato on a different plate. He went in the back and eventually came out with my plate. Grabbed dinner with a friend here a few nights ago, as they highly recommended I try since I haven't yet! It definitely has a cool and slower vibe since it's inside an RV park. We decided to sit on the patio, and it was very nice! The fireplace was going and they also had heaters. The food is SO GOOD, as was the service! I ordered the chicken fettuccine, my friend ordered the Cajun chicken and we also ordered the stuffed mushrooms. Everything had great flavor and you could taste the quality of ingredients. My wife and I have been eating here since the restaurant opened. The food is good and the bar drinks are also good. However, my complaint would be that since the ownership switched to KOA, and many of the usual favorites were removed. This restaurant is located in an RV resort. It is also in extremely close proximity to the auto mall. I've been here on many occasions. (My parents were essentially regulars when they lived here). Anyway, this is a decent place. The staff is always friendly. They have a good range of food items and have a full bar. Hey let's go eat at the RV park! Who would have known that this little gem existed. Our small office wanted to do a dinner and this got voted in. Something new for me to try. Yay! I was able to easily make a reservation. Think how hard it is right now during the month of December and all those holiday parties. Anyways, this is right across from the auto mall. I found it super easy to find too. It's not a huge place but I think it was the perfect place. We had about 10-15 people. It wasn't crowded. There were a few parties that came throughout the night. The staff was attentive. Thank goodness because my last resturant experience was horrible. The waiter was awesome. He knew how to split the checks correctly without having to ask who was on each check. He's magic! Now what we've all been waiting for....FOOD! It's a decent sized menu for this quiet place. My colleague said everything there was pretty good. I got the Crest Works Burger with sweet potato fries. It was huge. It was delicious. I love brioche buns and then the burger patty extends just outside of those buns. I wish I had more fries but you know what the amount was just right to try and finish that huge burger. Oh and I had to cut that burger in half but it was huge. My husband got the Western burger. From what I was able to steal...I mean share from this plate, the onion rings are huge and his bbq sauce was warm and yummy. When they brought out our food, the parade of dishes looked so good. My boss had the salmon special. I'm a sucker for mashed potatoes and green beans. He said it was pretty good. My colleagues French dip came out looking like a Philly cheesesteak. It looked so mouthwatering. She got tons of sweet potato fries too. I should have gotten that meal. And she took off meat. They packed that sucker. The staff was very accommodating setting our group up in the patio area. There was a roaring fire and heaters going to keep us toasty warm. I liked the ambiance, which was very comfy. The drinks were not great but they were decent, very heavy on the alcohol which gave it a kick. I prefer not to taste the alcohol quite so much but many do like it that way. I had a lemon drop martini and my husband had a Long Island tea. I ordered chicken and my husband had steak. The chicken was drowned in a thick sauce that tasted like it had a lot of flour in it. I like my broccoli steamed to the point where it is still a bright green and has a little snap but mine was not cooked quite enough to my liking. The gravy had very little flavor. My garlic mashed potatoes had far too much garlic. My husbands steak did not have much seasoning either. The prices were actually very reasonable. I had coffee after my meal, which was really good. I loved the patio area with the fireplace. I think if I came again it would probably just be for drinks and appetizers or for dessert and coffee rather than for a full meal. read more

I wish that they would open for breakfast again, now that they have been acquired by the KOA Corporation. If their managers were wise, they would do this ASAP, because it would make their Grand Opening more than just a cosmetic makeover. Fortunately, when the restaurant opens for lunch and dinner, they continue to one of the coolest, safest dining areas in Bakersfield, where local car drivers are made to feel more than welcome! KOA has retained just about ALL of their incredible restaurant staff. It also retains the feel of the old Crest Drive In, that we patronized for decades, back in the day! Anyway, the food continues to have a home cooked taste and there are a large variety of healthy options. Hurry up and make a reservation for their Thanksgiving Dinner! We were staying at the KOA and decided the restaurant was a nice option on our first night. It is really nice atmosphere inside which makes it comfortable vibe. We were there for happy hour (2-6 daily) and ordered the fried pickles and a glass of house wine. The pickles were so delicious!! Full spears breaded and fried and they were so good! My husband ordered the French dip because he loves them and hasn't had it for a long time. The beef was so tender and the roll was crusty in the best way! Absolutely his favorite! I ordered my all time favorite Cobb salad and it was perfect! Fresh crispy lettuce with all of the toppings. It all came together perfectly and we really enjoyed our dinner. We had planned on eating dinner here but after a couple of cocktails and appetizers, we changed our minds. When we ordered our second beverages, and noticed that they sat on the bar for a very long time before we received them. Our waitress was friendly but absent. At least we were checked on by the bus person twice. He noticed us looking for our waitress. The appetizer sampler that we ordered was just ok. We ended up asking for our check and leaving. I had heard about a great little place in an RV park but have never been. My husband works out that way and there aren't a ton of well known/familiar restaurants and his coworkers wanted to meet our baby. This is where we came and we will TOTALLY be back. Our server was awesome. Busy for sure, but didn't make us feel rushed at all, got all the needy things the table asked for and was just in an overall good mood. Hubs and I split the pastrami gone wild with sweet potato fries and rings. It was suuuuh good. I didn't even ask for more sauce to put on it and ate it too quickly to take a picture .
