While out taking some photos and learning local history in nearby cottage Grove we made time to stop at Creswell Bakery. We had a bacon egg and cheese pocket, a vegetarian pocket, and a ham and cheese pretzel breakfast sandwich. All of them were outstanding; tasty bread and a nice blend of fillings. The staff were all very friendly and service time was quick. For a sweet treat we had a fresh strawberry scone, a hazelnut caramel roll, and a cardamom roll. Each were possibly the best we have ever had. The sticky bun was easily the star of my show!!!! Nice outside seating available, small gift area including jelly's, coffee beans, kitchen towels and bread bags and some Oregon wine. This is a definite need to stop if you are a bakery person. Breads, rolls, muffins, and cookies. No donuts.

    Get it heated and enjoy.

What a pleasant surprise! The huge I-5 billboard lured us, our expectations were low. So much homemade eye candy. The tomato soup and the ham, egg, and cheese breakfast pastry thing were delicious. The moist carrot cake for the finish brought smiles. Friendly service, a little long on the execution. Don't waiver, just do it.

    Bacon sandwich on ciabatta

This little bakery and cafe is wonderful! I've been twice now, once today and once a few years ago. It's only gotten better! Today I got the bacon and egg sandwich on ciabatta, the turkey special (which I took home for lunch), a croissant, a cinnamon roll, and an Oregon hazelnut sticky bun. The egg sandwich was so good! I was worried the bread would be too hard because I've had hard ciabatta in the past that cut the roof of my mouth but this was perfect. The sandwich was perfectly made and tasted delicious. They have some locally-made goods that you can also buy. I was tempted but didn't get anything this time. I do like that they sell local stuff though. The man who helped us was very nice and friendly. Our hot food came out pretty quickly given how busy they were. You get a beeper when you order something from the kitchen and go up when it goes off. There are a few parking spots right up front but they were full today. There's plenty of street parking so you shouldn't have any issues finding somewhere to park. They have a bathroom inside but I didn't use it. It's not coded though which is nice. The bakery is clean and easy to move around in, even when it's packed. I will definitely be coming back here in the future. It's a great place to stop on a road trip!

Oh. My. Gosh. Y'all. If you know Bobby Yoe, you know he's a chill dude. Doesn't normally get into the feels a lot. But lemme tell you, this is hands down one of the best bakeries EVER. If you are ever in Oregon, PLEASE stop and visit it. They had meat pies that were spot on yo. Literally DOPE. I'd rec the chicken pot pie one. My lil bros wanted bacon sandwiches, which is something they didn't serve, but the lady who was taking our order was so nice and helped us figure out what to get so my bros would be satisfied with their lunch. GUESS WHAT? They cure and cut their own bacon IN HOUSE. Anyhoo, this place is somethin' else, a lil slice of heaven on Earth. 11/10. Totes adorbs. Would DEF rec. Bobby Yoe OUT.

My ham and cheese pretzel roll. Yum!

Our usual stop on our way to Portland. Always good! Never disappoints! Servers are friendly, fast and efficient. Picnic tables outside to sit and enjoy.

Cute little bakery in Creswell. Parking was limited with construction, but street parking was easy. The croissant was delicious and the vanilla cupcake with orange frosting was probably the best cupcake I've ever had, perfectly balanced and not too sweet.

Bacon Ciabatta Egg sandwich is yum

My son brought me here for Mother's Day. The bacon egg ciabatta sandwich was worth waiting in line for. The perfect crunch of the bread, gooey egg, house smoked bacon...all perfection. The cinnamon rolls looked amazing but over the top so we didn't try to order until after we finished our sandwiches...and they were sold out! Do not hesitate! I can't wait to come back!

Bakery is a huge success. So many choices I bought 2 boxes to try them. Everything from sweet to savory is mouthwatering great! Too much to try all. Sparrows outside. Nice fig tree and blueberry bush out front. Picnic tables to eat at. Really nice coffee & drinks.

Ask the Community - Creswell Bakery

Are dogs allowed in outside dining area?

Yes. We often sit next to them.

    Are gluten-free options available?

I haven't seen this option, sorry. But they do feature frozen beef from their ranch if that helps any.

What are the vegan options? Says it's vegan friendly...

I looked on Vegan Friendly bakeries close to me on the internet. Creswell was not listed. I'd suggest a call before driving down.

    Are espresso drinks available?

No. They just have a self serving drip coffee. But it's super good! And they have local honey as a sweetener option, as well as half & half and regular sugar

Some of the other reviews were negative on their food...but our food was fantastic. The burgers were moist and not greasy. The waffle cut fries were hot and crispy. The bartenders work non stop to get your drinks and food out quickly. My daughter loved the churro style donuts (but they are messy). The decor is a D&D dive bar scene....so many things to look at as you wait for bingo to start. They just changed the rules and you do have to pay $1.00 per person to play bingo...but where else can you get that type of entertainment for a dollar. We can't wait to return.

At one point, the bartender disappeared for approximately fifteen minutes, leaving several patrons waiting without acknowledgment. When she finally returned, she casually mentioned she had been on a personal phone call. A second woman then stepped behind the bar, immediately clarifying that she was not, in fact, a bartender. When I expressed concern about the extended absence and lack of service--something I would consider standard feedback in any hospitality setting--I was abruptly told I was "speaking badly" about the staff and was asked to leave. This kind of defensiveness and disregard for patrons is deeply unprofessional, especially for an establishment that positions itself within a community where communication, accountability, and mutual respect are paramount. Eugene has a growing nightlife and alternative culture scene, and many people--locals and visitors alike--expect spaces that uphold those values. Based on my experiences, I cannot recommend The Serpent & the Sparrow. There are other venues in town that offer a far more welcoming environment, competent service, and a genuine respect for their patrons.

Our visit to Cascade Biscuit Kitchen was really disappointing…read more The restaurant is kinda fast casual I guess, because you order at the counter and then sit at your table for your food to come out. My mom ordered a waffle a la carte and it was honestly stunned to see that it was a pre-made waffle (I saw her put it in the oven when I was getting some water). Liege style they may be, but Eggo liege? I mean I clearly don't know they use Eggo waffles specifically, but I just cannot believe they charge over $5 for a frozen waffle they stick in the oven for a couple minutes. We ordered some beignets for the table, and beignets came with the meal; we assumed they'd come first. It was a lot of food, especially all at once, so the beignets didn't quite get the full attention they deserved. But they were just ok, and if you're looking for beignets I wouldn't come here just for that; Oh My Mini Donuts in Eugene makes them better. Probably the best part of the meal in my opinion was the breakfast casserole thing they have--their potatoes. It reminds me of a breakfast thing that my mom used to make and now I need to find a recipe for it so I can make it soon. The biscuits were not bad, though the butter was cold so it couldn't really spread very well and that made the biscuit a bit dry. And on an 80 degree day they couldn't put any ice in their water container (water is self-serve) so it was room temperature. I'm glad that we came because now I don't have to wonder about it anymore. And I mean, it's in Springfield just on the other side of Glenwood, and the Eugene/Springfield area isn't huge so it took all of 15 minutes to get her. But everything I had here--except for the potato casserole--is something I can get a better version of elsewhere, and closer.

The space is really cute--feels like a legit southern biscuit place, it's tidy and clean but without frills (in a good way). The benches can seat a lot of people! We ordered a Ron Swanson breakfast, a Chicken & Waffles Breakfast, and some beignets (because I had to try them)! As you can see in the pictures, there is a LOT of food! The waffles are liege waffles, the yummy kind with the sugar crust! And it was all really delicious! The beignets were hot and flaky and came with this light lemony creamy stuff that was very good. We ended up taking home boxes--I feel like I've got enough food leftover for 1.5 meals! They have Coke Products & juice in a case, along with unlimited coffee and water. The staff was friendly, considerate, and gave some great recommendations.
