We love Tom! He's so friendly and he makes the Bloody Mary Mix; so good! I had the clam chowder and it was one of the best I've had out this way.

I'm not sure I can say enough good things to do this place justice. The food was delicious, the waterfront tables can't be beat and the service is WAY better than any other restaurant right now. We will definitely be back!

The pan seared salmon has a lightly crispy exterior: it seriously doesn't need the tartar sauce.

Crews Inn is a throwback to an earlier time. As Americans, we've become spoiled with our dining: we expect a constant procession of food, from the bread basket to the salad to the main course. So, this place is a bit jarring. The appetizers are not cheap compared to the main courses. There is no side salad option, though you can get a bowl of soup. And, there is a bread basket, but you have to ask for it. But, if the food is as good as it is here, you can certainly get away with being old school. The crabcakes are some of the best I've ever had a restaurant: they contain a lot of crab! Seriously, this is my big gripe about crabcakes anywhere, but that's not the case here. The sauce that comes with them his uninspired, but the crab itself is so good that it doesn't matter. The grilled salmon that I had was superb. Very nice crispy exterior, and a perfectly cooked interior. The buttery broccoli and beans they came with it were a very nice accompaniment. I haven't been here in years, but I see that the things that made them good years ago haven't changed. I can see that my fellow diners look familiar, like I probably saw them years ago at the same place. This is a place that only the locals really know about, and that's a shame. Sometimes, you don't have to be cutting edge to be good.

I wanted to like this place. I have been grabbing Groupons to places to try out. I paid like $8 for a $20 in food. We walked in and there was no one up front. Finally we were acknowledged, she told us to come with her.. all the way to the back of the restaurant where the other 2 tables were seated. Lovely. The decor is so old and dated. Ughh.. glad we have the water or lack of to look at. It seemed to be regulars. Plus, it was Valentine's Day... Finally we place a drink order. We got a coke (2.95) and root beer(3.50) I didn't understand the price difference, we kinda laughed. Oh well. When we placed our order I asked if we could get bread or something. I hadn't eaten and I was kinda fading fast. I kid you not, she was like since it's Valentine's Day, I'll Bring you a roll. I kind of laughed and said thanks. What a joke. When she came with a piece of bread and the clam chowder we ordered, almost instantaneous. We never really waited. We shared a cup because the waitress boasted about it being the best in the state. I will say, it was pretty good!! We got the crab cake lunch and lake perch and chips? The waitress again boasted about the crab being real crab and not imitation. Wooo.. The lake perch was "fresh" as in it was dipped and then fried. So the seafood dishes are as fresh as you'd expect at a restaurant on the water. Both the crab and the fish were good. The vegetables on the side also were good. Not the best but good. We both liked the food we ate. The prices though? Wow too much. I didn't even have a drink and we spent $40+. I never say this, ever. I left still kind of hungry. For the amount of food we received to the price we paid, the value was not there. You can tell that from the clientele that this is a corner diner to them. The prices to the amount of food you get is just not there for me. I don't eat a lot, thanks tummy issues.. but this left me hungry. It was good to try, but, anything more than trying it, I'll pass. Maybe over the summer I'll come back, sit on the deck, and try it again.. but not anytime soon.

Great menu selections and quality ingredients. Service was fast and very charming. Location is nice especially in the warmer months when you can sit outside and watch the boats go by. I would return!!

Landmark of a place for the boating community! A great place to sit outside or dock your boat and have a cocktail, grab some lunch/dinner. It's your typical old school setup and the food was ok. A little update with the place and food choices would do this place good. Highlights: I had the coconut shrimp. A little over done with the breading. The shrimp were huge and the coconut flavor is not so overwhelming. You get your typical mixed veggies and two redskins on the side. My BF had the Mahi Mahi with pineapple and peppers chopped up on top. The fish was a bit dry/over done. We both had a cocktail and they were great! The service was excellent! The manager came by and asked if everything was ok. You get a bread basket. It's more of a family restaurant type feel. The prices were a bit high I must say. Nonetheless, if you are boating or on a nice summer day, it's worth to go for the experience, hang out outside and listen to the music coming from next door, watch the boats pass by. I would come again.

Came here for a boat ride and Christmas Carol sing along event. It was advertised as appetizers at the restaurant, then boat ride with Caroling and DJ. The cost was $30. Upon arrival I told the hostess I was there for the boat event. She directed me to a table and then pointed to where the appetizers where. All 2 of them. There were 2 chafing dishes set upon a single table, one contained some triangular beef pastry thing, the other an eggroll shaped cheesy pastry thing. They might as well have served us hot pockets. Paper plates, no sauces. Are you kidding me!? They were pretty gross and not what I was expecting for our 'appetizers'. Apparently they want you to order food. Drinks were extra. After snacking on our appetizers and 2 drinks - time to head to the boat. It was a cold, snowy night, everyone piled on the boat. There were about 60 people - and the indoor space on the boat was made to accommodate about 15. We were jammed up and jelly tight. People were freaking out. A small CASH only bar was inside, with 1 bartender. Awesome. Chaos ensued. Finally the boat left the dock, about 80% of the people decided to brave the elements and go to the front or back of the boat, but many people staying inside at the bar. The DJ was on the back and was playing Christmas carols about every 3rd song. There was no Sing Along, no one was in charge, you could obviously sing if you wanted to, which many did, but it was just a free for all. After about 1/2 hour he stopped all Christmas Carols and switched to oldies and dance music and a dance party ensued on the slippery cold deck. Many people said that this was not the boat that they had been on before, this was a small boat with a very small inside space and limited space at front and back. I have no idea what its capacity was, but we had to have been at maximum. Hopefully we weren't in danger. The boat was unable to break through the river ice to get us to the lake so instead we went back and forth in front of the houses then backwards to Crews Inn, then up as far as we could go and the backwards again. It was actually amusing. Don't get me wrong - I had fun - but it was in spite of their poor execution. It was only because everyone on the boat was nice, fun and there to have a good time. Dancing, drinking and talking to everyone was really great. Afterwards we went back in to Crews Inn and continued to dance and talk with all the new friends we had made. I would probably do another of their boat rides, but this time I would know what to expect and not think I was getting apps and I would bring plenty of CASH. It was all about the fun people.

Coconut Shrimp with a plum dipping sauce, ungodly good !!!

Seriously a local crown jewel , my wife and I have been many time and we are always treated with nothing but respect and kindness. I ordered the coconut shrimp , but and just and delicious !!!! My wife this time had a bugger and said it was very good. But the last time we went she had the fish and chips and she said it was ok. If you haven't been , you need to go, you won't be disappointed !

    Rachel D.

I've been here 2 times, first in the summer, and then just last night. The first time i ordered the crews inn tuna nachos to split as an appetizer and they were TO DIE FOR. That day i ordered the fish and chips and it was awesome. Then last night i ordered the nachos as my main dish and it was still good, just something was different. If you order it, get regular sour cream instead of the wasabi sour cream. The clam chowder is super good! A little on the pricy side, but it's good for a nice lunch.

Originally a farmhouse, a basement was dug out in the early 1900s to create a bar. The ceiling is only six feet high, and is smaller than the average basement. During Prohibition, it operated as a speakeasy. In 1933, it became the first establishment in Macomb County to receive a liquor license. From that point on, it officially went by Eastside Tavern. The tavern is now run by fourth-generation owner, Heather DeBruyn. No one has lived in the house since 2017, but "the basement bar" is alive and well. Since its opening, Eastside Tavern has featured a limited food menu. The burger is the most popular menu item, often hailed as one of the best in Macomb County. There are a few variations on the menu, all made with a half-pound patty. The bologna sandwich is another popular item. My personal favorite is the quesadilla. All sandwiches come with a basket of chips, and pepperoncinis are available upon request. The chip and pepperoncini combo is jokingly referred to as a "salad bar." The history and vibes make Eastside Tavern one of a kind. Live music takes place every Saturday, and raffles are occasionally held on Wednesdays. When you go, be sure to ask to see the apron.

Access onto the base is restricted and public population requires a background check before clearance is granted. If you're military, you're good. The restaurant has a super limited menu. Soups, salads, sandwiches, nachis, fish and chips, and chili pretty much sums up the menu. They're also fully licensed and have a small draft selection. Bottles are domestic with Labatt's and Corona being the imports. Friday's is fish fry night. The portions puzzle me as it comes in 5, 10, or 15 pcs with fries and slaw. I opt for the 10 pcs along with a plate of loaded nachos and cheese. A glass of Perrin 98 Problems to wash it all down. The dining area is huge and can easily host an event for 100. Flat screen TV's pepper the place. Tables are wooden top with metal frames, the collapsible kind that can easily be stored away. There are also smaller tables for four. The view out the bay windows are of the practice putting green, and the back nine beyond that. We were informed that they were short staffed today when we ordered and that it may take a little longer for our orders. The food came out around 15 mins later. The Perrin 98 Problems is a local IPA. It pours gold with a slight fog and small head with good retention. First taste revealed strong notes of floral and citrus. The hops are present, but are not bold enough to steal the show entirely. Crisp at the beginning, the hops fade more as the beer warms, and the sweetness from the malt becomes more prominent, making this an easy drinking IPA. I would have preferred more carbonation, but it was still ok. Not to take anything away from this draft, the complexity with the fading hops is a feat in itself. I'm definitely a fan here, 4 stars. My suspicions with the 10 pcs fish were correct. They were going to be more fish nuggets than filets. Each piece was roughly just under an ounce so a 10 piece is enough for 2 portions. The fish was breaded with a light cornmeal beer batter giving that extra crispness. The fish was cod, and the cook on it was spot on. The meat was light and moist and flaky. That tartar sauce was a little on the sweet side for my taste, but the kids didn't seem to mind it. 2,5 stars for me here. The fries were also ever so slightly battered, but here it worked. Not fancy, just extra crispy fries. 3,5 stars. The Nachos and Cheese came with ground beef; olives; diced onions, tomatoes, cheese sauce, and jalapeño peppers. While it had a good ratio of everything, the cheese sauce totally ruined it for me. Had it been shredded cheese, this dish would be a whole different story. 2 stars. Overall, the place is ok. Golf course restos tend to come in two types, the higher end (ranging from Ticonderoga to Cherry Creek to Patti Finnegan's), and the average golf course pub. Mulligans is definitely the latter, offering light meals and pitchers of draft while you make up excuses to you Buddy's about why you shot so poorly, or why you needed more than the one Mulligan per nine. Considering the place is a regular club pub, I'm giving Mulligans 3 stars. If you would like to experience more, come dine-with-me.yelp.com I'd love to have your company... Bon Appétit!
