I had the Red Snapper dinner tonight. I am 71 years of age. This is ABSOLUTLEY the WORST DINNER I have ever experienced. Our waitress was smart enough stay clear of my table from the time the food was delivered until the dishes were cleared. She didn't dare ask "how is your dinner?", because I'm sure she knew what was up. I think this piece of fish (at $19.95) was cooked three days ago and put under the heat lamp. Went on a Friday night, they were out of prime rib at 6:45, the salad was lettuce and 3 pieces of onion and 2 small slices of unripe tomatoes. The rug to the back rooms is nasty, could see the foam on booth seats, cables hanging down on all the tv's, tables were scuffed and in needing of reconditioning. Suffer from a good case of innwateritis...we are on the water so we dont have to try hard. Seriously who cares about plaques from the 1990's. Place needs a deep cleaning and lot of things thrown away. Waitress was pleasant and we gave a good tip. Crab cakes were good. By land or by sea. let's face it... the Crew's Inn has a captive audience. By sea, there are few choices to dock. By land .. it should be easier to find. My family and I went this past Friday. It was not our first time, as we've been there before and enjoyed the food and atmosphere, this last visit was entirely different. It was really busy with our local boaters, cocktail hour and a few large parties. Which is to be expected with its great location. We ordered oyster Rockefeller as an appetizer and our main dishes were, Oscar style filet and prime rib. Everything came at once. So our appetizer was no longer that, it was side dish to our entrees. (In which our waiter apologized about and expressed that they had large parties to accommodate) Everything was under seasoned, unsightly to look at and tasted less then favorable. As hard as it is for me to complain, I had to. I expressed to the waiter our concerns and he actually asked if we wanted to box the food up to take home.....and charged me full price for my uneaten meal. Needless to say, we will not be returning unless it's for a bottled beer. Side note: the chefs came out of the kitchen to analyze the scene and they were filthy looking with dish rags on their head used as a bandana...tasteless representation of the kitchen our food comes from. read more

Hubby and I stopped in for dinner last Friday evening. The menu is pretty good with a lot of seafood options. I can image in the ambiance will be awesome in the summer as it is right on the river. Our service was just ok. A little slow at times. We were most pleasantly surprised by their wine list. We tried dining there for dinner on a Monday. We were seated and one of about 6 tables with people. We watched a waitress tend to a table 5 feet from ours. We were ignored for 20 minutes. No "hello, will be right with you." No drink order. No acknowledgement of our presence whatsoever. We got up and left. Haven't been back for a while, but we recently stopped back. Since I had such a wonderful experience with their fish last visit, I tried the perch tonight. Unfortunately, not the same experience. The soup (beef bean n vegetable), would have very good, but it was over salted. The perch, IMO, was over cooked and a bit dry. While the skin was not crisped. The fish was not seasoned at all, so bland. I did ask that no flour or dusting be added, and they didn't. But if that was where the seasoning is, they need to add seasoning to the fish. Great atmosphere, nice staff, but the food disappointed this visit. Especially when surrendering $16+ on a fish dish. read more

Blew in here during a storm on Lake Saint Clare. The staff were great, the food was good and the drinks were perfect.

Love this place for some drinks and a bite on the patio with friends. The only thing better is coming by boat after a day on the lake. The Calamari and Beef Tips are my favorite around and the service is always exceptional. read more

I like the steak and artichokes with gravy and bearnaise sauce dish. Hint: dip the dinner rolls that come with it in the gravy. Yum. This place has no passion for for specialty microbrews. 2 stars for the location and the awesome DJ - it's a great spot on a beautiful day. My friends and I had a lovely time sitting on the terrace, listening to amazing music and watching to boats. When it comes to food, drinks and service, Crews Inn has a long way to go. We got there just before the dinner rush and were seated immediately. We ordered drinks fairly quickly as well. Stick to beer, wine or very simple cocktails. The margarita was one of the worst I've ever had. The pina coloda was watery with chunks of ice. I regret not sending them back. Seriously - find a bar tender who knows how to make a good cocktail. After placing our drinks, our waitress didn't come back to take our order for 25 minutes. Pretty long wait, but it did start getting busy. We placed our order and chatted as the boats went by, bobbing our heads to the awesome music. After about 45 minutes of waiting, with our tummies grumbling and our waitress nowhere in site, the fun chatter stopped. What was taking so long? Our waitress never stopped by to apologize for the wait or let us know if there was an issue. She breezed passed us at one point, where I attempted to ask if there was an issue, but she quickly said "it'll be out in a minute." Finally after waiting almost an hour, our food came out. No apology, no explanation. I don't know what's normal here, but in my experience, it shouldn't take an hour for your food to come out on top of waiting an addition 25 minutes to place your order! As for the food - it was good enough. Your average bar food, I guess. Burgers were decent, I actually had the burrata, which was pretty good. My friends ordered the calamari which was drowning in oil and butter. I was extremely excited about the ahi tuna nachos, which were a great idea in theory, but very poorly executed. The tuna was overdone, the guacamole was clearly store-bought, the sour cream and guacamole were in cups instead of distributed throughout the dish. No, just no. I would not order again. Overall I'm torn between 2 and 3 stars. Would I go back? Probably. It's such a pretty terrace and the DJ was amazing! I just wouldn't go hungry and I'd be sure to only order beer/wine and food that a child could make. read more

I go to crews every now and then because it is on the water, but it is nothing special. The food is expensive for what it is. The atmosphere is boring and the servers I have had were nothing special (thats not to say some arent good). Over all if you are passing by and need a bite to eat in a pinch, it will do. read more

I've come here a couple times and I'm not sure why I keep coming back. When I went there a couple weeks ago the service was especially bad. The waitresses were rude and seemed very uninterested and entitled. On top of that a lot of the items they had on the menu were unavailable or seasonal which was particularly annoying. Stopped in today for a spontaneous lunch date with my boyfriend on a rainy day. Place was expectedly slow, given the weather. That wasn't the problem, but rather the service. Since only wine was indicated on the menu, but we observed a full bar available, we inquired about the beer taps. Our older blonde waitress (don't know her name, as she probably didn't bother to tell us) rattled off a list so quickly I could only make out Molson something, and curtly stated she needed to see id's. I said "sure," about to ask for a repeat of the beer list, pulled my license from my purse and as I turned back to her, she had already walked away without a word. We waited a few moments and left. So I can't rate the food, which we would have liked to try out, but given the unnecessarily rude service, we promptly took our business next door where we were greeted we the same pleasant attitude we brought with us and enjoyed the date we set out for. read more

I found out about this place through Groupon and decided to take my husband for our anniversary. Best decision ever! We loved everything about this place! It's a very quaint restaurant along the waterfront with a warm decor. The wait staff was very fast and courteous and more than helpful with our many questions. We got a table the had a great view of the water, I can just imagine how beautiful it is during the summer! We ordered the fried Brie for an appetizer, it was AMAZING!!! I'm not sure how they fried it so perfect with the crust on the outside but it's definitely a must try! And the clam chowder was superb, the clams were so buttery soft and the ingredients were very fresh. My husband ordered the prime rib, he didn't speak a word until it was finished! He loved it so much, he was speechless lol!!!! I ordered the seafood platter, the crab cake was made with great care and the coconut shrimps were very big and flavorful. I'm not a big fan of fried fish, but their perch was also very good. This restaurant is a bit on the pricey side and honestly without Groupon, I would have never found it. But trust me when I say it's worth it!!!! We will definitely be back! read more

This place is overrated and very outdated, upon our arrival there was nobody to greet us at the door, and busboy had to run around and look for someone to seat us and to top it off we received a waitress named Debbie D that was not very welcoming and more occupied with rearranging seating outside while we were the only customers of hers inside and not busy what so ever, she had a demeanor as if we were a bother. As for the food we had burgers they were good but to add .75 to add onion to the burger is ridiculous, I doubt we will return anytime soon because of our experience!! read more

Favorite summer time bar. Have always been able to accommodate our dinner parties of 15 or more. Fun staff and great service. We've only had one complaint about a meal being cold and they replaced it with no hesitation. Good food and music at a great price. read more

Went in for dinner and the menu was not what we expected. Did not realize it was such a high priced place. Obviously not their fault. The wife and I both ordered the ribeye and a salad. I got the crews inn salad which was pretty good. A little big for a dinner salad but who's complaining about that. Where it all went bad was the steaks. They were terrible. Worst piece of meat I've ever had on my plate. We had to search through all the fat to find a piece to eat. We ordered them medium and there was no red or pink at all. They were about 3/8" thick so cooking that medium is impossible. We each choked down two bites and called it quits. Told the waitress and she said she didn't think they looked right coming out. Why she would tell us that I don't know. However she was very nice and told us that we didn't owe anything. She didn't even ask a manager or anything. She tried hard to get us to order something else but at that point no thanks. She's the reason I gave the extra star. Could have been an off night but probably won't go back. read more

Now that summer is back, we are enjoying stopping at Crew's Inn on our boat. this year there has been fairly consistent entertainment. The food is a substantial notch up from the typical bar food found on the water. We'll be visiting more often. read more

I spent a Memorial Day Weekend out on the water with my friends.We stopped in and had a Great Experience. The Prime Rib and calamari was Amazing. Awful. Awful. Awful. The food was very bland and despite me asking for the perch well done it came out room temp. and soggy. Slaw for $3 had no flavor AT ALL. Had to get another crab cake because it came out covered in some kind of Dijon sauce. Beef stew was a cup full of largely cut potatoes and my girls perch sandwich bun was not toasted. The server saw the uneaten slaw and said nothing. and the prices are way out of line. Very expensive for such poor quality. NEVER AGAIN However, great job by the bartender. I absolutely love Crews Inn. The food is phenomenal, the atmosphere is awesome and the service is great! The last time my wife and I went to Crews Inn was for our anniversary dinner and it did not disappoint. I had the caesar salad and the sirloin steak sandwich which was cooked exactly the way I ordered it. We often get the pizza which is delicious! I always choose to sit outside on the deck to check out the boats coming thru. They also have a fantastic wine selection. Crews Inn is definitely worthy of being featured on Diners, Drive-ins & Dives! We will be back this weekend for another visit. read more

We have a boat at a marina across the street and tried this restaurant a number of times even against the advice of my fellow boaters. The wait staff is always mediocre, the drinks are watered down and the food has never been very good. This particular review will be about my most recent visit. I ordered the perch sandwich and my wife ordered a salad with the chicken breast on top. The perch sandwich was so small it looked like a mini burger. I could've ate three or four of them just to make an adequate meal. My wife's dinner salad was the size of a small salad at full price. It was pathetic. She ordered chicken with it and they put three tiny pieces of chicken on top for four dollars. The meals were so pathetically small we actually started laughing and took pictures of them to show everyone at the marina. We didn't complain we just stood up, cashed out our drinks and walked out. To their credit they offered to take half off our bill but I think they missed the point that we needed about triple the food to be satisfied! We went to The River Rats restaurant down the street and had a delicious meal and never looked back. This has to be one of the worst restaurants on the water and everyone at our marina can't wait until they close and a new restaurant can take its place. read more

This was possibly THE WORST customer service I have ever experienced. The restaurant was dead, maybe a few tables on the patio but that's was it. The bloody Mary's were awful and tasted like dirty water, when all three of us asked for a different drink the waitress never asked why or if there was a problem. Then we order an appetizer that came out WITH our meal. We ordered medium burgers, they came well done. The fish that was supposed to have 'salsa' on it came with some mixed berry fruit jam...as we are eating will still don't have our replacement beers, that we were told twice she was going to get. We had no waters or anything. We ate our whole meal with no drinks. Finally we got our beers after our plates were gone. Our waitress brings the bill with the bloody Mary's still on it...we ask for them to be taken off since clearly we didn't drink them. She comes back and says she couldn't do that, that a manager would have to. So I say okay bring the manger over. She comes back and says the manger will not take them off and there's nothing they can do about it but she will get the manager for us. So I tell her again to get the manager. The waitress then comes back and says the manager is way too busy to come over so she just comped them. REALLY?! Only to come to find out the table behind us had requested her presence because the guy found a Christmas stocking eraser in his food!!!!! Needless to say the manager Debbie never came. This place should be ashamed. No apologies nothing. read more

Tonight we went to the Crews Inn for the 1st time in about 18 years for a change of pace. Unfortunately I was not satisfied with our service, our food or the prices so it will probably be another 18 years before I go back. We were sat, it took the waitress about 10 minutes before she realized we were there. When she did arrive my husband ordered a beer, my son a soda and myself a drink on the rocks ($7.50 for a 1 ounce shot OUCH). We ordered the pizza for our son since it was going to take a half hour to prepare we also ordered calamari (it had exactly 6 then small pieces the rest peppers-not a good value, if you are looking for great calamari head to J Baldwin's or Terry's Terrace). We ordered prime rib and the fried shrimp. The pizza arrived long before our meals did, as a matter of fact our son was done eating before our main course ever arrived. The prime rib was fatty but I will say the shrimp was good, I hope its as good tomorrow since I didn't get to finish it because our son was done eating and it was time to go! Our waitress never asked was everything ok, apologized for the timing of the food, etc. should have spoke to a manager before I left but you would have thought someone other than the waitstaff would be walking around checking on their customers. read more
