Wait, where did the $20 3.5mm come from?? xD my iPhone doesn't even have a jack nor does the hotspot that this plan is for lol... scam alert

TL:DR - Either they are scamming or overcharging, you decide. Cricket Customer Service is non-existent. PLEASE review your receipts and get second opinions from other locations or online. Avoid Irving location, Stonestown seemed better. I rarely review places because I do my due diligence in researching but I thought... how bad can a cell service provider be? April 1st, went in for a data plan 20GB. It is $35/mo and I qualified for their ACP discount ($30) so it's $5, simple enough math. Was told I need a new SIM card, 9.99 ok simple enough. So the entire transaction should be roughly $15 + tax? Somehow it is $44.84 and here comes the good part. I asked the person helping me why there is so much charge overage and they replied, you just opened your account so the discount doesn't apply until next month, where you will only pay $5 (35 minus 30). The receipts tell you the story, they charged me $20 for 3.5mm headphones? (I have a modem for hotspot data plan... and every phone nowadays don't even have 3.5mm jack lol and you can help me figure out that other $10 accessory). So they basically lied about the "first month". Back to Irving I go. Same person said the same alibi, lie (or whatever it is at this point) until I brought up that Stonestown would've honored what they should've done (and Cricket Phone Support). So now they back pedal and say they can give me a $25 credit to this (even though the overcharge is $30...) huh? It gets even better... they said it will take 2 months to see the credit xD. I wrote down June 6th just to see if they follow thru (not surprised if they don't). Why isn't it just fixed right then and there? Or even a gift card or refund? I didn't out their name because I genuinely think they probably have been pulling this sort of thing to everyone unsuspecting and it's terribly sad. If I could prevent any future customers from having them con you into a plan/product, I would feel that this review did some justice. And it isn't even about the money, it's the fact that they have a different story for everything I told them... just shady, bring your business elsewhere or at least to another location.

Prior to this store opening up, there was little to no reception on Irving Street. That being says a lot of Cricket reception. Asked several locations what one can do but no real answer. One said to get a microcell. Since Cricket is under At&t, the only microcell that would work is the At&t one, and that needs to be registered with an At&t account before it will work.

I had also called their customer service line three times. The customer service line would tell me to go in store and the store would tell me to call. I explained this to the rep at this third store and they immediately helped me resolve this issue. They called at&t on my behalf and the 20 minutes it took to resolve was way better than my 4 wasted hours on the phone and 2 hours wasted waiting at the two other stores. I know they didn't make any money off me and i don't require at&t service at this time, but if I do in the future, I'll be sure to come here.

But they charged for that time though I had no Internet service. Not the first time. Previously hand-carried a spent modem to a storefront on Market in San Francisco when they told me to bring it, then they insisted they hadn't received it. Learned one has to get shipping address/label from them and return via Fed-Ex. And had to give up old landline (square phone) because they kept insisting I was calling places I'd never even heard of, at over $500.00 a month. I'm seldom on the phone, ever. No integrity or ethics at all. Totally distrust them.

(It doesn't say this anywhere online it's a fun surprise the associate will tell you at the store). We forgot the pin, so I was unable to pick up a simple online order that I placed and paid for in full online hours beforehand. Even with full access to my Verizon account and my ID etc. Walked in, sat down for 45 minutes, paid twice for parking, left empty handed. It was enough for me to draw the line with Verizon completely. The service has gone completely to the dogs anyways and I barely get service in a lot of areas here in San Francisco. My friends with T Mobile get better coverage, which is super embarrassing for Verizon. I've been a customer here for 15+ years and I have never had such a hard time picking up a phone or getting service. The customer service phone lines are no help either. The associate was nice enough but obviously he couldn't help me without the pin. Be warned.

The staff is usually helpful, and turnaround times are pretty quick. However, my last experience was really disappointing. I brought in my DualSense controllers to fix analog stick issues and paid $100 to repair three knobs. Just one week later, I had the exact same issue with one of the supposedly repaired sticks. When I brought it back, I was charged an additional $60 to fix what should have already been resolved. What's most frustrating is that I couldn't get a clear explanation as to why I was being charged again for the same issue. If a repair doesn't hold up after a week, that should fall under some kind of workmanship guarantee--not an additional charge. I want to continue supporting this business because I've had good experiences in the past, but this situation felt unfair and left me questioning the quality and accountability of the repairs.

I brought this up in-store, and also showed them ATT website about that promotion at the time too, and both the rep and her manager assured me they would honor it if I signed up there in-store. The rep even took my number and followed up several times to get me to sign up. I eventually did, after also making it clear that my schedule is very busy and I wouldn't have time to keep coming back or follow through. Sales rep promised everything would be handled on their end. Two months after installation, despite meeting all the qualifications and being assured at sign-up, I never received the promised gift card. Since then, I've had to spend time following up, only to get the runaround with no resolution. It feels like they were very eager to close the sale at the time, but once that was done, communication and follow-through completely fell apart. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, the service was over-promised and under-delivered.

I purchased International phone service from these people plus a pass to call anywhere in the world. This is a literal joke cause I was in three countries the service in the first country was basically limited to my friends's Wi-Fi. The second country, the APARTMENT's Wi-Fi and the Street Wi-Fi to send a message with theirs was impossible. Then the lost country there was absolutely no service. None I tried to cancel them. I had to get another phone. Service had to bring a LOCAL in to get the phone service. Paid for that then I had to go back in and pay again to call the United States to talk to T-Mobile. Which all I was hung up on at least six times. Promised everything like promises promises promises is really they should change your name. I had no service for three weeks until I came back to San Francisco. The very next day I went into the office I was livid. They told me that they couldn't help me. I explained to them what would they do if they had a situation they couldn't answer me they told me to call 611. Those people said they would help me which is another promise. Unfulfilled of course so I canceled went to another company and I was wanting a refund. They promised a refund of $75 which I didn't even see as of yet. But now they are harassing me on a daily basis twice a day calling to say they will ruin my credit and can lose my number etc. Before this a few agents promised again a phone call to straighten out the mess . Walking in, I was 100% committed to making a purchase, and I knew exactly which device I wanted. This didn't stop MULTIPLE associates from aggressively upselling me on different phones, new lines, other devices and accessories, even after repeatedly declining. I HAVE A LINE, I'M NOT GOING TO OPEN A NEW ONE FOR A "FREE" DEVICE UPGRADE. It took an extremely long time for them to "activate" my new device and process the sale. During this time, they notified me that there would be a $35 activation fee and a $70 restocking fee if I return it. When I got home and finished setting up the device, it turns out the eSIM was NOT activated. It took an hour of excruciating calls with their support team to complete the activation i had PAID FOR in-store. My other goal in-store was to ask them to remove the "HotSpot Data Add-On" from my line. They assured me this would be removed at the end of the billing cycle. 2-weeks later, at the end of the billing cycle, all of my data services were removed. Another hour with the support team to restore the base functionality of my plan. To recap, what the in-store agents accomplished was: 1. aggressively "selling" to a customer who walked in the door with specific intent to purchase 2. bungling a SIM card activation 3. bungling a simple service adjustment 4. costing me and their own support team 2 hours of time to do their job I was thrilled to ultimately return the device, for a full refund of the "activation fee." Less the restocking fee, which was of course only $20, not $70 as they warned me several times. If you want a working phone with active cell service, avoid this location. Buy an unlocked phone and activate online. You'll have a far better experience and your device won't be riddled with T-Mobile bloatware.
