Went here on our anniversary for a simple dinner and it was anything but simple. Everyone was nice but after being served spicy mayo for Queso, being served our meal without fries as ordered, and then no drink refills. Server disappeared after bringing the spicy mayo and never showed up again until she brought the bill over which was also wrong. It's your typical college/local restaurant and bar. They've got a bunch of beers on tap if you're into that stuff (gluten-intolerant so I'll pass). For food, the service is good. My family of 4 went on a Saturday night over spring break. We enjoyed the menu choices, the many games including pool and arcade games that would keep our kids busy. We had soft pretzel with queso, fried pickles, fish n chips, kale Caesar, tater tots, kids burger, and kids tenders. All was great, my husband especially loved the tater tots. What we really appreciated was the customer service. Our apps were a little delayed (not even that much by our Austin standards) and the staff was over apologetic and comped our apps. So where do I start. First impression of the place is "cool sports bar, but I wouldn't eat here." Well that couldn't be more wrong. Food items like peanut butter and bacon burger.... yea. I was feeling particularly healthy and wanted to try their lighter cuisine. I was surprised to hear that pretty much the only healthy thing was the dish I got, (chicken skewers). The Spicy Baja Burger is very good! They have a variety of burgers to pick from. The guacamole was a great edition to the burger. Came in on a Monday night, not crowded at all. Parked myself at the bar to watch the NCAAM championship game. Started with Four Corner El Chingon IPA. Great beer selection here. Ordered the brisket burger with blackened brussel sprouts on the side. Brisket was good, very juicy. Burger may have been slightly over cooked but my fault for not specifying which level I wanted. Comes with jalapeños which add just the right amount of heat. Brussel sprouts were excellent, dipped in the cheese sauce. Excellent flavor, a must try. Service was great as well. Came in here on Veterans Day with my service dog and was told that I was not allowed to be seated at the bar with my service dog. I told the manager/owner that ADA laws specifically state that people with disabilities who use a service dog cannot be isolated or treated less favorably than other patrons. His response "you can be in here, but you can't sit here." Unbelievable that this day in age, people who manage businesses are not aware of federal laws that pertain to their business. read more

Highly recommend Cricket's for their beer selection. They also have good burgers on Wednesday nights for $2. We used to come for Taco Tuesday. The chicken and beef fajita tacos are the best deal in town and quite tasty as well. But starting Taco Tuesday at 9pm doesn't make any sense. I'd pay a dollar more before 9, but you can't even order them until 9! How about 8pm as a compromise? We stopped coming on Tuesday because who can wait until 9pm on a Tuesday to eat dinner? I'll pay more earlier or let me order an hour (or two, preferably) before, and we'll gladly be back for a few beers and tacos on Tuesday. We arrived at 6:45pm in late July and were seated within 15 minutes. The restaurant was so hot we were sweating throughout our stay, and two of us retained menus to use as a fan. Our waitress carded three members of our party (including two clearly in our 50's) for one drink each. She further scanned to check for expired ID'S. Our water glasses were never refilled, and my party was charged for a cocktail we never ordered. I did enjoy the San Miguel salad, but in all, we found this to be a disappointing experience. We made arrangements in advance for a large table for a friends birthday party. Not only were they super accommodating of our very last minute planning style, they also made sure to acknowledge the birthday girl upon arrival. The drinks were great, the service was prompt and friendly. This place is good! The rating is only for this visit. Three stars just because of some changes in the menu. The experience is awesome. Our servers, Patrick and Hunter, was nice and attentive. We ordered their onion rings, which we loved before. Got some chicken tenders and sweet potato fries too. When we got the onion rings, it looked and tasted different. It was too salty and they apparently changed the batter from tempura to fried chicken batter. It kind of made me feel sick. Maybe it was just a bit too much flour. Their hippie hollow tacos were lacking beans that used to make it so good. The manager, Miranda, came over and explained the changes to us. This place is a big draft house that also has food. For beer, I'm a big sour fan, so I got the Salty Lady. The bartender wasn't super knowledgeable about beers and even said he hates the beer I ended up getting. I think the bartenders are just young. He was really nice otherwise. The menu is extensive, with plenty of healthier options as well as your basic burgers and sandwiches. We got the Brussels sprouts (they come with Rice Krispies and a spicy mayo aioli) which I conveniently ate half of before remembering to snag a picture for Yelp (sorry!). So they were clearly yummy. We also ordered the brisket burger and the chicken tender salad, both of which were decent. Good place to stop in Waco for a casual dinner or lunch. We also brought our dog, so we sat on the patio upstairs. Sitting upstairs means we have to go get our food and beers from the bar downstairs ourselves, which is a bit annoying. The bartender was super nice though and offered to text me to let me know when my order was ready. Overall a good experience! Stopped in here for lunch on Sunday while waiting for the Spice Village upstairs to open. Just saw the sign out front and decided to check it out. Nice comfortable space. They had a lot of booths to eat at, plus a full bar with stools and billiards tables. Seems very tourist friendly. Also sold t-shirts with their logo. I ordered the Brisket burger and Pecan pie. Both quite good. The brisket on top the burger was a little dry, but the burger itself was pretty good. Juicy and flavorful and cooked right. It did not come with fries. The Pecan Pie was my favorite part of the meal! it was good. I would have liked a little more pecan in it, but the flavor was delicious- not too sweet, and was good with the vanilla ice cream that came with it. I'd order the pecan pie again. I mostly come here at night for the bar atmosphere, but I really like the food, too! I think their fried pickles and chicken strips are really good with great sauce. The place is huge with an upstairs balcony patio as well. They have 2 shuffle board tables, about 8 pool tables, skee ball, giant connect 4, air hockey, and several other arcade games. It's more expensive than some of the bars in Waco, but its SO much nicer and has a lot more to offer. read more

Lots of things are closed on Sunday's in Waco we discovered. We came here after trying several other places. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't the greatest. I would try another place out before returning here and making it a frequent stop. The pros: big draft beer selection, pool tables and games, the appetizers are awesome, the staff was friendly. The burger was pretty good. Cons: it was really dark inside, the burgers don't come with a side of any kind, not even fries. They claim to pride themselves on scratch food yet serve kraft Mac and cheese on the kids menu, that also doesn't come with a side or fries. For the large size of the establishment the bathrooms were small, not very clean, and there was only one working soap dispenser. read more
