I ordered the signature sandwich "the crimson" at level hot- and had a nice slow burn. I could still taste the flavors. Chicken to bun ratio was great! You are getting what you pay for. My fiancé ordered a chicken-rice platter at level medium. He LOVED it. He said the chickens flavor was great and the rice was a nice mix. Now this is an off menu "crimson bowl". We also got a side of fries. We aren't big fans of extra seasoning on fries, but that's just a personal preference- it wasn't crazy seasoning either. Just an okay experience at CC. Got there for lunch and was first in line but still had to wait 10 minutes to order because staff was busy. I understand they cook to order but they need to be more efficient so people aren't left waiting when things aren't that busy. The chicken itself was good. They use halal so quality is good but the prices are exorbitant for what you get. $12 for just a chicken sandwich and an additional $5 to add fries and a drink, so $18 for a combo with a sandwich that wasn't that big. We had a coupon thankfully but I wouldn't pay that much normally. The fries were overly salty and I got the chicken at medium spice level and was surprised that it was still pretty mild and lacking flavor. They should use a bigger tray since everything was so tight you didn't have space to put ketchup or sauce. They give good generous portions and the sandwich comes with a beast of a breast almost twice the size of the bun. I do wish they would include at least one crimson sauce on the side. This round we also tried Joey fries which were decadent. The favorite here for me and the significantly better half is the garlic twist. Been reading alot about Crimson Coward in Frisco, so when we got the chance to try it, we took advantage of the opportunity. I consider myself a Connoisseur of Nashville Hot Chicken, and I have my favorites that use the oil based Nashville Hot Sauce, but I'm willing to try the dry rub options out there. My wife and I both scarfed down her 3 piece and my 4 piece Hot Tenders with Potato Salad, all of it was delicious, tasty and so moist! We forgot to take pictures cause we were so hungry. Wish there was a heat level between Hot and Burn Baby Burn, because the Hot left me wanting more heat without the pain and hiccups caused by the kill your tastebuds BBB. The Crimson Sauce was a nice touch and so were the Pickles. Very good moist tender chicken with delicious flavor needing more cayenne. Looking forward to coming back! read more

I realllllly wanted to love this place. I do like it. I will be giving it a second chance. The good: the menu has a lot of terrific options. The staff was sweet. They hand bread all of the chicken and the chicken IS delicious. Mac n cheese was also delicious and my husband loved his slaw. Good location away from the chaos of the area. The bad: my brother had to repeat his order twice and it still came out wrong. He asked for the slaw for his sandwich and he was given, without exaggeration, three shreds of cabbage. It was sadly comical. I ordered cheese sauce but it never came when I went to retrieve it, it was 99% water. You couldn't dip anything in it. It also tasted...like water. I also think $10 is steep for a kid's meal. They could've given half the fries and one fewer tender and made the price point more reasonable. The fries had zero seasoning and were cold. We saw they had seasoning available but the kid doing the fries was touching everything with his gloves so I didn't want to send my food back. Now this is NOT my complaint but we were subjected to the incident. A woman said there was a problem with the breast on her sandwich. The worker explained he had cut it in half to check it. He then showed off a different breast and it was clearly larger than the lady's. But most people in food service know cook times or can use a thermometer so as not to ruin the protein. He wasn't rude, per se, but you could tell it was not a "the customer should be given excellent service" scenario. She just wound up leaving. I felt badly for her because I wouldn't want my sandwich looking like hers, either. I have to assume they just need more practice and training. My recommendation would be to go during a slower time so they're not overwhelmed. The flavors were all amazing except for the two bucks I paid for a cup of cheese water. read more

We have been wanting to come here for awhile but a positive review from Mr Chimetime sealed the deal. The experience starts with a top notch staff that answered questions and offered suggestions. They truly took fantastic care of us and had great energy and excitement. My husband got the Home Style Sandwich and I got the Joey Eat Fries. We got our chicken medium heat. The first bite of chicken set the tone for the rest of the meal. It takes some serious skill to get an entire fried chicken breast to be unbelievably flavorful and crunchy and they did it! We wanted hot chicken and didn't want to drive to Richardson for Ricky's. Luckily we found this place and tried it out. The spice levels aren't as spicy as other hot chicken places. Usually a medium has an enough kick for me to enjoy the food and spice at the same time. Their medium here was more of a mild in my opinion. Chicken is seasoned and cooked well, nice crunchy coating. The slaw is lacking in flavor and needs some more seasoning and a creamy element. The fries are good and we really enjoyed the mac n cheese. Prices are a little on the higher end but nothing outrageous. Staff was very friendly and food came out quickly, but we were the only ones there. So I've been super curious about this place and eager for it to open up!! They're still in the soft opening phase, so it's a bit under the radar. I came in there yesterday and it wasn't busy at all. Everything was clean, and the employees were super sweet and helpful!! For my meal I got the Joey Eat Fries (Fries with chicken, nacho cheese, crimson sauce, pickles, and comeback sauce) at the medium spice level and 3 tenders at the mild spice level. Everything was made to order and came out piping hot!! The portions were HUGE!! The fries were perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. They had the perfect texture to stand up against all of the toppings without getting soggy!!  The sauce was VERY close to the comeback sauce at Ricky's Hot Chicken, and I love Ricky's so this was an obvious win for me!! The slaw was crunchy and fresh with a slight amount of sweetness, it's vinaigrette based (instead of mayo) which I also love!! Most importantly - the chicken was SO juicy and flavorful but by no means was it spicy, at all!! For reference, I typically get the hot spice level at Dave's Hot Chicken and medium at Ricky's Hot Chicken. I was told that the Crimson Coward medium spice level would be equivalent to the hot at Dave's. That absolutely was not the case, which I'm totally fine with because the chicken was SO GOOD, just not spicy at all, in my opinion.  So if you're looking for true HEAT - I would say definitely start at the hot spice level or maybe even the Burrrrn Baby Burn. Also - I think the price point may be a deterrent for some people, seeing as a sandwich alone (with no fries or drink) is $14. The combo is $20 and a kids meal is $11. So keep that in mind if you're trying to be frugal. You could definitely get more for your money at Ricky's or Dave's. But anyway, - all in all, I really enjoyed my meal and I'm excited to come back and try other things from the menu!! read more

Service was amazing, the staff was extremely friendly and answered all of our questions. The food was solid, a little heavy - but that's a good sign. I had the Joey-eat-fries and definitely enjoyed it, but was drawn to my friends crimson onion Joey style. My only regret is not asking for light/no cheese on my dish (my mouth was happy, but my body was not). I went with a medium spice level and had no trouble at all. The crimson onion was delightful; a deep fried onion made to resemble a flower paired with ranch and their signature crimson sauce.
