The food was served within 10 minutes so it was fast, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. As context, I don't really enjoy fried chicken and foods. I like how they serve fingers, so you don't feel like they're too heavy. I tried the chicken wrap, club sandwich, and the regular 5 finger combo. Chicken Wrap: I got the fried chicken wrap, but you could also get it grilled for a healthier version. This tasted like a regular chicken wrap salad, but I enjoyed the blend, and it had a good enough amount of meat! This is great for those who don't want the meal to be too heavy. Club sandwich: this was on the heavier side because both sides of the sandwich were made from Texas toast, but the toast was so good!! I Iove the beef bacon as well, the combination is perfect and different. 5 piece: the fingers were cooked nicely and the chicken was tender while the outside was crunchy. Went to pick up a mobile order for my work place. Had no issues with waiting at all. Cashier was very rude and I could see she had tears in her eyes. Clearly I could tell she was having a tougher day than me so I was patiently awaiting. Nonetheless the mobile order I had placed 25 minutes in advance for 6-8 people was started when I arrived. I was notified my order would be ready in 10-15 minutes. Waited an additional 30 minutes for my drinks and beverages to be shoved in a bag carelessly and had to rebag due to poor effort. Got back to the office with incomplete orders and a staff who was shorted on lunch after a long day of work. Needless to say. I don't think this an exceptional place to eat or to contribute as an employee. A couple of DOORDASHERS also left due to the wait/service by the employees.Again, this is NOT an establishment to contribute to. I am sad to write this review, I absolutely loved Laynes, and always thought their sauce and fingers were superior to canes. Unfortunately the portions have become so stingy that I no longer go there. The chicken fingers are no longer chicken fingers at all, they are closer to nuggets. Basically they have cut the chicken fingers in half, and doubled their prices. To try and hide the smaller portions they have actually cut their containers in half hoping that no one would notice. Service at this location was always good, but dropped off in the last year or so. Can't say much on ambiance, I have never been inside. Unfortunately this seems like a failed expansion of the franchise overall(originally a single location near Texas A&M) as I have seen the same decline at other locations. It is unlikely I will ever be back, I have given Laynes several second chances, just hoping it was a temporary issue, but I will likely never be back. read more

The sauce... what was served to me: Layne's sauce didn't look anything like the photo on the menu. Did they change it? Was this the right one? I don't know... it was like a peppery remoulade sauce, and I was kinda of happy with it. 4 STAR range. The honey mustard sauce was okay... 3 STAR range. The chicken tenders were moist inside, and cooked fully through. That's always a good thing! However, the outside breading wasn't a good color... kind of a dark, bland color. Either the grease was old (and these tenders tasted like it was time for a change)... or the wrong temperature. As a NYer I am new to this place and Canes etc. I am not a huge fan of Canes, I rather have Babes but these Layne's tenders were giving Babes a run for their money, forget Canes (cause I did). French fries were hot and fresh, not greasy not salty. We all know eating out there is added salt in the breading, fries so I don't want to eat heavily additionally salted food.
