I've never been to the downtown location, but I have been to their new one in the graves mill shopping center several times. It's great! They have a wide selection of healthy options to choose from at a very reasonable price. The employees are friendly, and the atmosphere is clean. The only thing is, you may have to wait a while, as lines have been decently long each time I have been there. For the quality and quantity of the food, I think this is the best bang for your buck in town. read more

Crisp is an amazing salad bar on Church street in downtown Lynchburg! I love that it is out of the way of all of the hustle and bustle, tucked cozy on a street that is never too crowded. This is such a unique place to eat as you are able to order almost any form of salad that you can imagine. There are countless toppings for your salad and the workers hand mix all of the ingredients together along with your dressing, leaving you with a perfectly ready to eat and delicious salad! You can also order wraps, the soup of the day, smoothies, and/or freshly squeezed juices! You can dine in here or you can take to go. I especially love Crisp for the atmosphere which the owners bring. They are extremely personable and kind to anyone that comes in! I always catch up with them quickly while I am picking up a salad and I always hear them speaking to others in front of me in line while I wait or behind me when I am leaving. For now, I am trying to eat healthy, and doing so when traveling can be difficult. I come down to the 'Burg often and always try and support the local places. There are plenty of chain places, but none of them offer the type of fresh options found in this downtown space. As someone else mentioned, there are a few parking spaces onsite which makes life a little easier, but on this Tuesday night that wasn't an issue. The deal is that you can either order one of their "recipe" salads/wraps or customize it. I went with a build-your-own salad (I opted for the large). They have recently added brown rice or quinoa which allows for even more options including some new bowls. I added just a scoop of brown rice to my mix. The grains are equal to 2 add-ons. You get 4 add-ons per order plus you get to add protein but can add more for a small cost. There are a ton of different dressings and I had the apple cider vinegar dressing. I really like that they ask if you want more or less dressing. They toss all of your choices and put it in a very large bowl. The large was very filling. The service was great - fast and friendly, with people who clearly like the food they serve. I will be back to try other combos. Check them out. Highly recommend! read more

I visited Crisp on a Sunday after church. The menu was not expansive, but had plenty of interesting choices. I ordered a Caesar salad. It was fresh, the dressing was delicious, and the serving size was just right. While in line, I noted that the staff had to inform other patrons that they were out of several items which limited some selections. I was not impacted, but thought it worth noting that not everything on menu was available. The staff were courteous and the facility was clean. Overall, I would definitely return again. read more

This is a very good restaurant with good fresh salad and fixings. I eat here at least once a week. I have one main issue with this restaurant: they have a good juice bar that has good smoothies and bowls but it is variably staffed. There could be times you go get a quick smoothie and wait a long time because there is only one employee as cashier, stocker and preparer. Needs 2 employees all the time. read more

To whom this may concern Crisp is the absolute worst place I have ever been. The owners do not care about their employees or their business. Today I came in and stood in line, it was uncomfortably warm, imagine a sauna that smells like ranch. It was not until after I was at the register that someone had finally told me they lost power at around 11 am. There were no signs posted and nothing to inform me or anyone else of the situation except for the girl at the register. If I had come in at 11:30 I would not have cared but I was there at 2pm and they were still open. They were open two hours after the power had gone out which breaks so many health codes. The worst thing possible was that they still had shrimp out and were serving it to people who did not even know how long it had been sitting out without refrigeration. This is FALSE ADVERTISING. Not informing your customers that the quality of your food has dropped, or that they are walking into a sauna and into restrooms without lights is wrong. A good business owner, would not have stayed open serving bad food to paying customers or let his employees sit there and melt and would have probably closed down until the situation was resolved. Thank God nobody slipped or fell in the bathrooms without lights because they would have and should have been sued. I will never eat here again because clearly the only thing that matters to these people is taking your money in any way possible. read more

My new favorite restaurant. I'd eat here every day if I could. They make the best salads I've ever had and put a lot of effort into the quality of their ingredients and the combination of them. They also have great tasting healthy juices that took me by surprise. I wanted to try the green juice and expected it to taste bitter, but it tastes great. I appreciate that I can get healthy, whole food any time at Crisp. I work 2 blocks away, and I go to the Y often. Crisp fits beautifully in my lifestyle, so I go there twice a week minimum. The salads are generous and there is no way I could stock my fridge with the variety of ingredients Crisp offers daily. The soups are fantastic, creative and always delicious. If you're looking for fresh, healthy food then make this your go to spot. Friendly and accommodating staff that gives great service with a genuine smile. We ordered the Ella B and Berry detox smoothies and found them both equally delicious. Neither were overly sweet and again prepared with fresh ingredients. We also ordered the Thai and Greek salads. Again no complaints whatsoever!! Tasty,filling and more importantly FRESH. I'm in town regularly and plan to frequent this cafe often. I was excited to take my vegetarian Aunt here when she was in town, to help support a local business that served health conscious food. Unfortunately it was right around the time the restaurant was temporarily closing to relocate. Still, every staff member except one young man were too cool for school, or too cool to take the time to even make eye contact. The girl working, and the other guys never turned around or stopped talking to help. They didn't care at all that they had no menu items left. When I asked for ice water in a glass they grabbed a cup and turned the faucet on and gave me warm water. The salad was nothing great. They did have one juice selection left which was good. However the attitude of the workers was as if they'd never see that job again and had lost all interests and care to help their customers have a good experience (or go back!).
