I understand the hype and we went because of it but I won't be back. Let me first say that the staff was really nice but they were so overwhelmed. Ordering is a nightmare because no one knows what's going on. The whole point of this place is the cones. The problem is that they put so much ice cream in the cone that by the time you get to it you're full. And the soft serve is so subpar that you don't even want to eat it. I dumped most of the ice cream to get to the cone and guess what. It was not crispy. It was soggy and very very messy. I really enjoy visiting Crispy Cones! Every Monday their new flavors come out. I went then. I enjoy their different flavors that change weekly. The flavors are fun, different, and really good. A few weeks they had a cereal milk ice cream with a cone dressed with fruity pebbles. This week was salted caramel and peanut butter flavor ice cream. I think this week was my favorite. They have many toppings, my favorite Heath bar and Kit Kat! The cones are like a pastry cone with a sugar coating or a cone of the week, just depends the flavor of the week as well. Ambiance is nice! The service is always wonderful. The kids in there are always happy and friendly! I remember a fellow name Nathan, he was probably the manager. He was enthusiastic, friendly and entertaining! Overall I would give it 3/5 stars but knocking off an extra star for a couple reasons... But first, the soft serve was good but pretty standard, nothing that you couldn't get at a McDonalds. They also had an okay selection of toppings ranging from candy bars to nuts to strawberries. The cone however was not that great flavor-wise; it tasted like straight-up raw dough with cinnamon sprinkled on it, which didn't pair well with the ice cream. Considering how the cone should've been the highlight of the dessert, this was especially disappointing. Additionally, we waited an HOUR in line to get this mid dessert which did not feel worth the wait, and it seems like there is always an extremely long line at this place for God knows why?? Lastly, as someone with a peanut allergy, the cross-contamination control with their peanut toppings was basically non-existent, which was very worrying (tbh I probably shouldn't have eaten this but I wanted to risk it all to make this review ). So overall, I'm glad I tried it to see what the hype was about but I will not be coming back lol. The teenage staff literally called Nutella, chocolate sauce. NUTELLA IS NUTELLA. According to California law, they could have ended up with a fat lawsuit after this. Ice cream parlors technically doesn't have to say "nuts" on menu, BUT THEY DO HAVE TO TRAIN THEIR STAFF. I ended up in the emergency room holding my daughter for hours, because of untrained staff. We visited Crispy Cones and ordered using the self-serve kiosk since there was no one available to take orders. I placed an order for two cones on the kiosk, and my husband completed checkout. Unfortunately, there was no receipt provided. We waited in line for about an hour. When we finally reached the pickup area, we were only handed one cone. At that point, we were told that only one cone showed in the system. Because we never received a receipt, we had no way of checking the order while waiting in line or realizing that the second cone didn't go through. The cones themselves were good, but the ordering and pickup process was frustrating--especially after such a long wait. A staffed register, printed or digital receipts, or clearer order confirmation at the kiosk would help prevent situations like this. The ice cream is mediocre at best, and our orders were wrong even on a slower evening. We were the only customers there and they had like 5 people behind the counter, yet one order had the totally wrong ice cream and the other was missing a topping. Walked in and left due to the young lady with the brown hair with bangs and nose hoop piercing, she was unhygienic. She was sweaty and wearing gloves and kept wiping her sweat with her gloves and she never replaced them with new ones. Very disappointing and gross. Took my daughter here today for an after-school treat around 3:30pm. We lucked out with street parking, which was a plus. The downside started with the line, about a 10-15 minute wait just to order, with only one cashier taking orders and ringing people up while the rest of the staff (around 5-6 employees) focused on making cones. It was kind of cool to watch the cone making process, but the flow felt inefficient. When we finally got to the counter, we were told we could order on the iPads instead... which raised the question: why wasn't that being encouraged earlier? My daughter ordered what I'd consider a pretty basic cone: cinnamon sugar cone, chocolate-vanilla swirl, no spread inside, fresh strawberries on top. The total? $11 for a single crispy cone. Pricey, but I figured maybe it would be worth it. Unfortunately, it took forever to get. They ran out of vanilla in one of the machines and instead of offering an alternative (chocolate only, vanilla only, or another flavor), we were just told they were making more and it should be "soon." No timeframe, no options. After another 10 minutes of waiting, I finally asked if we could just switch to vanilla. I want to give grace, they seem new and are clearly working through some kinks -- but better communication and basic customer service would go a long way. Offering substitutions instead of leaving customers waiting indefinitely feels like an easy fix. Sadly, after all that, the ice cream cone itself was pretty blah. The grand opening happened shortly after Christmas so I think there are still come kinks to work out. I was incredibly excited for this new ice cream venue in the village. Stood in line for maybe 10 minutes and we knew what we wanted to order. When I got to the front of the line the self service screen wasn't user friendly at all and they were out of the butter cookie filling. This is the filling that Crispy Cones is known for and the reason I stood in line. I was also disappointed to learn that they use Skippy peanut butter from a jar to coat the inside of the filled doughy cup. I personally will probably go to Handels or Hawaiian Shaved ice next time I'm in the village. While the cone was okay it lacked in the quality ingredients that are advertised on social media. Give it a try if you're curious but I really think management needs to take a look at the process of making the cones from start to finish for this to top local competitors. read more

We went during the week and there were just a handful of people inside. I found the menu to be very difficult to understand and see because of where it is placed on the wall. We ended up just picking one that was pictured on the screen-a cookie one.
