    Vegetable Egg Rolls.

There are many Thai restaurants in this area (several Thai spots just in this little strip mall alone). Crispy Pork Gang is one of the best. I've been here several times now and I'm surprised they aren't more popular then they are. While there are long line at Ruen Pair next door, there is always room at Crispy Pork Gang. And, when all the other Thai restaurants close, Crispy Pork Gang always seems to be open. The food here is consistently good. I've had the Vegetable Egg Rolls, Yellow Curry, Spicy Eggplant & Tofu, Drunken Noodles with Chicken and Tom Kha Soup. Everything I've ordered has been very tasty. I also love how the menu prices change for different times of the day (4pm - 9pm, to prices are significantly higher). The dining room is larger than expected and they have booths, which are comfortable. The service is on point and the bathroom is . . . colorful? You don't need to wait in line at Ruen Pair, Thai Patio or Shabu Shabu, for good Thai food. Go to Crispy Pork Gang instead, and enjoy the late night hours!

Pretty solid lunch special menu!! We went on a Friday during lunch time, very chill, only one other party there. Kind of crazy because it's LA, but I guess it's still holiday season and it was raining. Service was nice and chill, nothing too crazy. We ordered the Super Pad Thai, $14 and worth because it had crispy pork, chicken AND shrimp. Very slay. Very good too! I could've gone a little more seasoning or something, it felt like the color was light? But it was still very good. Then we got the Thai Basil Chicken with ground chicken -- to have it ground cost an extra $3 but my partner really wanted it, he was reminiscing. It was really good though! Overall great experience.

Im not sure why there isnt more love for this place. The quality of their food is on par with their neighbor Ruen Pair but without the wait. Our server tonight was also super friendly and attentive. It is recommended that you get a dish that has crispy pork!

We ended up at Hsi Thai spot kind of late, one of the few places still open, which was a win. The vibe was super chill, nothing fancy, but the food totally hit the spot. We ordered a bunch of dishes to share- green beans with crispy pork (so good, super flavorful and crunchy), Tom Yum soup (spicy, sour, perfect for late- night cravings), shrimp with cabbage, walnut shrimp (sweet and creamy), Roti(flaky and buttery, amazing with curry), and Thai Papaya Salad (fresh, tangy, and a little spicy). Everything came out hot and fast, and honestly, it was just solid, satisfying ThaiFoos. The kind of place you'd come back to after a night out or when you want something comforting. Definitely keeping this one in my late night list.

My favorite place in Thai town. You can't beat those Daytime menu prices. The dishes are tasty and filling. 15 minutes wait for a togo order. Outdoor seating too. A paid parking lot or cheaper street parking. I posted current menu pages.

We haven't been here in a while but always love the food. Am glad we got a chance to dine here again. The food is so delicious. Service was always fast and friendly. This time we ordered the Trout with mango salad, shrimp pad Thai, beef panang curry and the pork jerky. All were exceptionally delicious. Love that this restaurant has not changed or skimped on their recipes. I highly recommend this place. They are open 24 hours. Parking is limited and valet only at $3/car.

A Hollywood FAVE for Thai food. Friendly service, clean and open 24 hrs! Usually I visit for lunch special. I love their shrimp cakes, soups, much more!

Food: 3/5 Service: 3.5/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Value: 2/5 I have been passing by this place and reading their reviews a few times. I always hesitated to go because of the mixed feedback. This time my coworker said he liked the food so we decided to go for a late dinner. I was thinking about getting boat noodles or crispy pork with Chinese broccoli, but after reading more reviews I decided to play it safe and ordered mixed vegetables over rice. I figured they couldn't mess that up, right? The portion was small for the price. It didn't come with any meat, which was partly my fault. I remembered they mentioned in the menu that meat costs extra, but I thought that meant for extra meat. The server didn't ask if I wanted any meat either. The taste was just okay. It did the job, and that's about it. When I got the bill, it was just like other people said in the reviews. They added a service fee and an 18% tip. For the overall experience, I will not repeat.

    Missing pork.

I already reviewed them and decided to give them up but I really like the food so recently I decided to take out. I ordered twice and both times they forgot the main protein on the crispy pork rice. I don't understand how this is literally your signature dish and we can't get it right. I'm definitely done now.

    Noesh H.

The best late-night food spot! The Thai food here is amazing. Their spicy fried rice with crispy pork just melts in your mouth, with a little bit of crunch. Their pad thai is also really good, along with their kung pao chicken. Service is also so quick and friendly. It appears to be more of a hole in the wall, but do not let that deter you. It's a hidden gem for sure.

Ok dining in, food is bombbb like order anything. No frills. Food comes fast. Good and consistent Takeout... ordered the same cheese wontons a they're different and literally like no cheese in them. Just fried bits. Look like tortilla chips Disappointing they do that

We got there on the early side, so we were able to snag 2 seats at the bar, where we were well-tended-to by our bartender who mixed up an excellent Bombay Sapphire Martini to celebrate National Martini Day. A skilled blend of the gin and vermouth, stirred to a proper chill without watering it down. Nice!! My wife ordered a Riesling, and found it to be refreshing as well. Now, of course, Formosa is decked out in deep reds and blacks, and all manner of Chinese decor circa Hollywood's golden age, and it still feels like at any moment, a hard-boiled, detective movie argument might break out in the corner booth. The menu goes along with the decor, mainly focused on classic Chinese dishes, from dim sum to full entrees, and it all sounds very appealing on paper. Used to be that the food was far less appealing upon delivery, but that has changed big time. The food is now quite excellent, and very much worthy of your time. We ordered up the Shrimp & Pork Shu Mai, and liked them so much we got a second order. Freshly made and fresh out of the steamer, they were packed with a very tasty filling, and joined by a vinegary sauce that elevated the flavor even more. We also ordered the Dan Dan noodles, made here with brisket instead of pork. Lots of peanut flavor and a good deal of spice, served in a very ample portion. These were hearty, tasty and very satisfying. Parking in the lot below is easy, and the staff is energetic, friendly and accommodating. After 87 years, the Formosa has definitely hit its stride again, and you'd do well to treat yourself to some time in this reborn rendezvous from the good old days.

The roti was highly recommended, and although I've enjoyed roti before, nothing has come close to this version. It was incredibly delicious--light, buttery, and perfectly flaky, with delicate layers that practically melted in my mouth. The accompanying dipping sauce complemented it beautifully. I'm a big fan of drunken noodles, but the version served here was truly exceptional--the best I've ever had. The flavors were rich, vibrant, and perfectly balanced. Our server was attentive, patient, and genuinely kind, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. To top it all off, the prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food and service. I would happily return and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an outstanding meal.

Rustic Spoon - Toluca Lake…read more You're quaint and close to great. Limited parking in back, but plenty on the street this small sibling eatery to Rustic Spoon - Valley Village has a lot of those familiar beats with both inside and patio seating. I haven't been to this location in many years, but the service and eats definitely had me nostalgic. Stopping in for dinner before an event night, my friend Shaun and I enjoyed the Pad Thai (him) and their Warm Noodle (myself) w/ Tofu. The portions are smaller than the Rustic Spoon in Valley Village, but the flavors and quality are abundant. From curry to desser, noodles to rice dishes, appetizers, salads, soups, chef's specials and even a kid's menu. No wine, beer or alcoholic beverages available here, however excellent mocktails (Rose Mojito, Bloody Lychee), teas, and various classic beverages. We experienced a minor mix up with my order initially, I was brought a noodle dish with steak, but I think it was meant for another table since I don't eat meat and can't remember the last time I used steak in a sentence. It was an easy fix and we had zero other issues, aside for me leaving my bag at the table - they were super kind enough to flag us down on the sidewalk. Very clean and intimate inside with nice lighting from the street and their own special touch at night. Restrooms for customers Wi-Fi available upon request. Patio is pet friendly. Solid for groups, but absolutely plan ahead (they do take reservations). Open daily from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM and 4:30 PM - 9:00 PM on weekdays as well as from 3 PM until 9 PM Saturdays and Sundays.
