Finally tried this place, and I highly recommend it. The biscuits are great! The pancakes are yummy. The sausage gravy is good. The gravy is from a mix (and they add sausage). I have no problem with this because it's a mix I enjoy. But be aware, if you're a picky gravy fan. I have pretty high biscuit standards, and Crooked Tree hits the mark for me. We only did takeout, so I can't speak to the service. The woman on the phone who took our order was very friendly. Portions were good. What more is needed from a solid breakfast option? The fact that everything is made in house with the best of ingredients blew me away. Homemade Jams, syrup, barbecue sauce, smoked meats, great quality eggs, fabulous coffee and a great stand alone premises that is so tastefully decorated and unique. The staff were so friendly and attentive they get 5 stars. The food was equally tasty and it was such a change as privately owned businesses with from scratch recipes are very hard to find these days in this area. When I do they have ruined it by using something like siracha for example that has msg in it. Or barbecue sauce that also has. Not here, it's all made in-house. This is my new favourite spot in Marietta. I don't know why I haven't been before. I drive for mile's in search of businesses like this because these authentic independently owned businesses have been disappearing in this area. I enjoyed my visit. They started us off with some piping hot coffee that was so delicious and fresh. I drank quite a few cups and our server was on top of it. My veggie scramble was packed with flavor. It had brussel sprouts that were cooked perfectly. It was a little greasy, so it kind of cheapens the feel of eating healthy. This is truly a hidden gem off of Cobb Parkway. I had an exciting brunch. Those pancakes are YUGE & they're fluffy/moist the way they should be. I DESTROYED THEM . I can't wait to go back. First time here and the place is really cute inside. Sunday morning, there was no wait so we were seated quickly. Tables are spaced for social distancing inside and on the patio. The hostess and servers are wearing masks. The tables and booths are being sanitized during customers and they are using paper menus. We waited a few minutes for our server to greet the table. We ordered the Smoked Brisket Hash with the bbq sauce on the side and the Pancake Breakfast. We received our food in a timely manner. Our server explained to us the 2 made in house jellies, served with the meal: blueberry and peach. She brought us our requested condiments and never returned to the table to check back on us. We sat without drink refills for way longer than we should have. When she finally came to the table because it was time to bring the check, I ordered toast, I cannot eat eggs with out toast, that's just me. After the order waas put in, It took 11 mins for my toast to get to the table. I did not finish my cold meal waiting on the toast. So, I can't tell you anything about it. I did get to taste my husband's pancake and it was good. The server runs your payment card, right at the table, then holds it out for you to sign while standing there looking at you. How awkward is that? There has to be a better way to not make customers feel uncomfortable. read more

To be honest I'm not a huge BBQ fan so keep that in mind as you are reading this...I got the pulled pork BBQ sandwich with collard green. It was good but it didn't blow me away. I'm a big collard green fan but I didn't care for CT's version of this beloved souther stable which doesn't mean it was good...it just wasn't for me. Crooked Tree Cafe is a Southern BBQ breakfast, brunch, and lunch restaurant located in North Marietta. It opened in 2012 and features house-smoked meats, homemade sauces and jellies, and classic Southern breakfast and lunch plates at affordable prices. The breakfast/brunch items I tried here were OK and service was good. The cafe is located in its own small standalone building across from a Coke warehouse on Cobb Parkway (US 41). They've got a decent sized parking lot that can accommodate up to about 25 cars. The restaurant sort of looks like a house from the outside. Out front, they've got a small patio with nicely maintained landscaping along with a smoker, presumably for display only, with the real smokers in the back. The inside of the restaurant is simple and homey with wooden tables and a few booths in the back. The menu is seasonal. When we visited for Sunday brunch, examples of items included smoked brisket hash ($11), breakfast wraps ($8), three-egg scrambles ($8.50-9.50), Belgian waffles ($6), and sandwiches ($7-10). I tried the following: * Open Faced Brisket Grilled Cheese ($10) - BBQ brisket with American cheese, pickled onions, jalapeno corn bread, fried eggs, grits * Smothered Biscuits ($7) with homemade sausage gravy * Blueberry Granola Pancakes - tall stack (3) for $8 The open-faced brisket grilled cheese was alright. It was actually so heavy that I couldn't finish it. The highlight was the brisket which definitely had a very nice smoky flavor to it. I wouldn't mind trying Crooked Tree Cafe's BBQ (brisket, pulled pork, etc.) by itself as opposed to part of a sandwich or other food. One of my tablemates got a pulled pork sandwich and the meat looked delicious. The grits were simple and good. The smothered biscuits were fine as well. At Crooked Tree, you can get your biscuits smothered with other ingredients like smoked chicken and chicken gravy, veggie & country gravy, country ham & red eye gravy, and beef stew. You can also build your own biscuit. One order of smothered biscuits comes with two biscuits served open-faced and topped with meat and gravy. These particular biscuits came with plenty of chopped savory sausage and a decent amount of white gravy, though I felt like there could have been more gravy. The biscuits were a little dense and floury. The blueberry granola pancakes were tasty. They were served with maple syrup. The tall stack (3 pancakes) was a lot of food. I suggest getting a short stack (2 pancakes, $6.50) unless you're sharing. I didn't think anything about these pancakes made them remarkable, but they weren't bad either. Another one of my tablemates ordered the horchata French toast ($6) made with cinnamon rice custard and sliced challah. When the plate hit the table, we all seemed underwhelmed by its size (3 slices of bread). Then again, it was only six bucks. The house coffee ($2.25) was par for the course; nothing to write home about. We had no issues with service. Payments were handled via Square. After paying, I was immediately emailed a coupon for $5 off my next visit. The coupon was valid for about a month. read more

I've been here several times, but my last visit had issues. It wasn't the food, but the smell of wet dog! I couldn't get over it. I was the only one in the restaurant this Tuesday noon. Trying to enjoy their wonderful biscuit and gravy dish, but all I could smell was wet dog. I was seated near the back next to the restrooms.
