Everything here was really good. It was hard to make a decision, but when we finally did, it felt so right. We ended up splitting the Crooked Tree Breakfast and got scrambled eggs, chicken sausage, and fruit with a biscuit. Along with that we got a brisket biscuit and we added one egg. On top of that we got the "horchata french toast". So all in all everything was really good. Chicken sausage was amazing! And the brisket was amazing too. The biscuits were fluffy like I like them. And they made different preserves and butters which were all really good. The pineapple preserve was great! The scrambled eggs were a little bland and the horchata french toast threw me off because it didn't taste like horchata at all. And I doubt they were trying to make it taste like horchata but I expected a little bit more of a horchata feel than just putting a random horchata on the french toast. But the french toast did taste amazing! Just needs a different name in my opinion. Our server was really nice and the atmosphere was relaxing. I like this little spot!!!! I stopped by for lunch after leaving work early ( I work up the street from this place ), I wasn't feeling good so I didn't eat much. The lunch item I ordered was something different, BBQ Brisket Grill Cheese, never heard of it, but it was actually pretty good. It came with fries, I'm on the fence with the fries, they just seemed a bit too oily for my taste. I order a water to drink. The service was great, I dined alone so my order came out fast and I was checked on often. The waiter was really nice and very attentive. The restaurant was super clean. I would like to return to try out the breakfast menu, prices seems very reasonable. FYI:This place is a bit hidden, so if you are not looking you just may pass it by. Great breakfast and reasonable, the vegetable hash was delicious. My son and husband loved the pancakes. Only negative was the biscuit, just not that great. The staff was professional, there was a large order that preceded ours and they kept our coffee topped up and informed. It was our first visit so we were pretty excited after seeing the reviews. The hostess was going to sit us at table with water on floor. She said it was just water. She did get it up after we asked her to. The food was really good!! In general the place needs to be cleaned, the decor needs to be dusted. The "Bathrooms". Both entry doors have doors had about a years worth of dirty hand prints. Yuck. The men's bathroom floor was extremely filthy. Like it was hardly ever visited like an old country gas station in middle of nowhere. The handicap rails in the in the bathroom were covered with thick dust except for where hands had been placed. This was my first visit to Crooked Tree. I ordered the Smokey Scramble with chicken. Overall, it was pretty good. The chicken is plain pulled chicken no seasoning. I kind of wish it had been seasoned. But it came with four different sauces or jams to flavor it the way you wanted. So, I can't really fault them there. Exactly, what I was looking for. A great alternative to the places I normally go to like Waffle House, J Christopher or so on. Great food, great price, friendly staff and good prices. Crooked Tree Café is open and ready for business! They have removed tables for social distancing and all staff wore masks. Plus the patio is open. It was not very crowded at 9:30 Sunday morning, which is unusual, but more customers came in at 10pm. Our waitress was very friendly and brought us coffee and our orders very quickly. I am so glad I gave Crooked Tree another chance after the Mother's Day fiasco. Chef Jeff uses a lot of local, sustainable food and it's obvious he takes pride in it. I can't believe the lunch is as good as the breakfast! I ordered the Twisted Southern Brisket Bowl. It's the most expensive item on the lunch menu ($12) but absolutely worth it. It's a sizable portion and you can tell the pork is smoked for twelve hours. It's moist and fall-off the bone tender. It's good even without the sauce which was just as tasty. The side of crisp green beans were not over-cooked and very fresh. The grits weren't as good as I remember but my absolute favorite (in addition to the barbecue) was the house pickled vegetables. They are sweet and sour and complimented the barbecue perfectly. The chef also accommodated my allergies which is very important. Overall, I'd definitely recommend it even without the Scoutmob and I'm certain, I'll be back! read more

Every thing on the menu has a twist, which I love! Did I mention they make their own sauces, jams and jellies, smoke all their meats in house and use local ingredients? That is exactly what separates the good places from the amazing places. I got the breakfast wrap ($6.00) which chorizo, spinach, white cheddar and scrambled egg in a wheat tortilla. This was a great choice on my part. The perfect blend of breakfast meat (if you're Hispanic) with healthy mix-ins and wrapped up to perfection. I got a roasted banana pancake on the side which my boyfriend loved. I also got a sweet potato pancake with I loved. They top the pancake with a topping that denotes the filling on the inside and that was a great touch. Oh, and thank you for automatically giving me warm syrup with my delicious pancakes. My boyfriend got the veggie scramble ($7.50) which he loved. It had roasted cauliflower, white cheddar, and potato hash all scrambled up together. I thought it was too bland for my taste so this is a great choice for health nuts but not for for folks like me who like to be punched with their food. I am so glad we came with the Scoutmob offered. Ticket times are 15-20 minutes (which is perfect in the world of food service if you didn't know). Everything is home made here. Jelly's, syrup, ketchup, bread (for the French toast). EVERY. THING. I had the French toast with the home made syrup, which was by far THE BEST french toast I've ever had and I am from Diner-Country (NJ). The waitress let us get both the chocolate chip and roasted banana pancakes because we couldn't decide. Food was good. The breakfast meats were great and the biscuit was great. Fries and Tater tots were also great. The roasted banana pancakes did have a lot of cinnamon which overpowered the flavor. And the chocolate chip pancake unfortunately wasn't too great. We come here once a month (from east cobb) and always seem to have the best service from our server. The food is wonderful and there's always great new dishes to try. For Easter there was lamb for instance. I'm not a fan so I stayed with what I know . It's always a great visit every time we come but I was surprised to meet the hostess I've never met before who had a bit of an attitude when I mentioned sitting in a booth with my toddler rather than a table because he HATES high chairs and prefers booster seats. Later I learned the hostess was the owners wife. WHAT?! The woman who gave me unnecessary attitude when being seated and then warned me about my toddler being carful around the glass Easter decorations (not for him but for the decorations) on the window sills was an owner ?! Hahahha well, I was shocked and disappointed but it won't make me stray from the yummy food rather just avoid the drama next time. After a night celebrating the marriage of wonderful friends, a good breakfast was desperately needed. We were so lucky when I Googled "restaurants near me," The Crooked Tree Cafe popped up! The building is quaint and surrounded with lovely plants and growing veggies. The interior was understated and perfect because the food was the main event! As a vegan it is great to find another location to get what I like: healthy, flavorful fruits and veggies!! Specifically, the veggie scramble without eggs. It was divine!! It was a healthy mix of kale, mushrooms, squash, potatoes, onions and green beans topped with cheese-free basil pesto. I also enjoyed a fresh fruit salad, roasted potatoes with house made ketchup and butter-free house made apple butter! I instantly felt better. The prices were very reasonable; our server, Erin, was friendly and prompt; and the owner's father even stopped by to welcome us. The only problem -- it's too far away for us to visit as often as we'd like. Hopefully they'll consider opening another location in Gwinnett. My girlfriend and I stopped at Crooked Tree Cafe before a morning hike at Kennesaw Mountain. The place has a small private parking lot, which I could see filling up during peak hours. Inside, the cafe is very cute - homey decorations with good amount of seating (including booths). The friendly server seated us right away, and we ordered the Smokey Scramble with Brisket, Horchatta French Toast, and a cup of coffee. Smokey Scramble with Brisket - The dish came with a side of toast, butter, and a selection of jam (pineapple and blueberry). It seems that trying brisket from Texas ruined all other brisket for me. The brisket scramble was good, but slightly disappointing. I had too high of expectations. I think my favorite part of the dish was the homemade pineapple and blueberry jam. So good! Horchatta French Toast - I think it tastes like standard french toast with some extra cinnamon. Very average french toast - soft and soggy like classic french toast. Nothing too exciting. Ugh. I hate to see a popular yelp spot and be underwhelmed when I try it myself. HERS - Smokey Pork: pulled pork, eggs, potatoes, toast. Yu should know, I love potatoes. I eat them for breakfast everyday. Crooked Tree had me rolling my eyes and ready to go home and make my own potatoes. Where was the seasoning? Was the pork sposed to make up for potatoes lack of flavor? Eatable but I wouldn't order again. HIS - Crooked Tree Breakfast: bacon, eggs, potatoes and a pancake on the side. Asked for fried eggs, it came out runny. Easy fix but when yur hungry.. waiting any longer after they bring yur plate out to yu is annoying. (Am I right or am I right?) Now this Cinnamon syrup , which I'm sure may be the local favorite, was not expected. Where's the regular syrup for the folks who think cinnamon is absolutely disgusting? Sorry to say, mood killer.
