Bed bugs, body fluids on mattress, sheets, blankets; dirty comforter; mattress pad with public & pet hair; no pans, silverware, cups, glasses, or dishes in kitchenette; we reserved a queen & were given a full-size bed; holes in the carpet; whole facility was supposed to be non-smoking but room reeked of cigarettes;cigarette burns in the bed linens; people were smoking in halls & doorways as well as people using Marijuana everywhere & nothing was done about it. Mattress ripped & torn, with broken springs, the floor would have been softer. Found bed bugs in first room. Moved to a second room which was just as dirty. Pubic hair in sink. Dried food inside microwave. Pillows were the same kind toy get on a plane when flying coach & they refused to give us more than the 2 on the bed. There were no extra blankets. They gave us a mattress pad to use as an extra blanket but it had pet hair stuck on it as well as it was stained with what appeared to be body fluids. There were mouse feces on the bed and under the mattress. The staff told us that they would strip off their clothing before they went into their house because the hotel was so dirty they didn't want to bring anything into their home. They told us bedbugs are a norm for them. The mattresses, padded chairs, drapes, etc are never changed after an infestation, even the ripped/torn ones. The room had one "bath towel" which was just like my husband's so towels he bought at the industrial Costco to for cleaning (tiny & rough). The Manager, Roni Gorman, was unreachable as she wouldn't answer her phone. We were told that she NEVER answered her phone when she wasn't at the job. The new staff were left to their own devices without proper training. Photos online showed kitchenette that was modern which was a bait and switch. The kitchenettes are outdated and run down. The back splash was a piece of painted sheet rock...burn marks on countertop. Dresser with dirt, pet & human hair in it......etc. The shower had hair in the drain. The bathroom sink wouldn't drain. We had reserved and were charged for a room with a queen sized bed, but were given a full size bed. We mentioned this to the front desk clerk and were told "the computer's were locked up". Four days later we still have not received a refund in the charges (the over charge for the first night and for the 2 nights we didn't stay). We ended up having to leave & get another hotel which was 39 miles away which cost twice as much money. Since there was a children's sports tournament in town & everything else was booked, so we had a 40-minute drive to the event we were attending. There was no offer from the hotel to pay the difference in our other hotel. This hotel should not be given any stars. I could go on for hours. I would give this place ZERO or negative stars if I could. Very close to everything in Springfield. I can get on the EmX in the morning for work (I'm in the process of moving) and come back to the room and relax. The only complaint I have about this hotel is that the kitchenettes are not fully stocked as the website advertises. They most likely stopped doing this after the company who owns Crossland economy studios bought the property and moved in (this hotel used to be an Extended Stay America) You have to ask the front desk for cookware, utensils and dish soap to wash everything (if they have it) oh and sometimes, they will forget to replenish the soap and shampoo in your bathroom so it's a good idea to bring your own in your toiletries kit in case for some reason you have to have that all too awkward conversation with the front desk staff and ask for soap and shampoo. They also do weekly housekeeping here so if you check in on a Friday, guess what? Your housekeeping day will be on the next Friday unless you check out before then. read more

I have never had a worse experience with a hotel! We arrived at 1:30am to check in. There were two other groups ahead of us, so standing outside in the cold for that long was not appreciated... no one was invited into the office to register. Instead, we worked with the staff woman through a side window. The next morning we were woken up at 8 am by leaf-blowers and lawn trimmers outside our hotel door. I called the front office and was told that the gardeners come at 8 am on Wednesdays and there was nothing they could do about it. I was so angry! Check-out wasn't until 11am, so I had planned on sleeping in to compensate for getting in so late. Guess that wasn't going to happen! Finally, my mother, who kindly made the reservaton for me, ended up being charged for our stay even though she didn't stay with us and the hotel had taken my credit card info during check in. (they used the credit card used to hold the reservation). Oh, and did I mention that they charged us $119 for the room (nothing special... just two queen beds) for one night!!! What a bargain... NOT!! I will NEVER stay here or at another Economy Studios again!! Recap #1: Don't stay here on Tuesday nights if you don't want to be woken up by gardners on Wednesday mornings. Recap #2: Don't arrive late, unless you have something to bundle up with to keep you warm...Oregon nights are cold, don't forget! Also, late night check-ins seem to be popular, so plan accordingly. An Irate, disappointed and sleep deprived customer here. When we arrive late and tired the staff told us they don't have our room. We showed our confirmation number and tried to reach the customer support in vein. No real explanation to what is going on. After a while got a vague statement that someone might have overbooked and they cant do anything about it. This happened at 11 in the night on a busy weekend so we had no choice to find another place to spend the night. We had to spend the night in the car. I had to spend a few nights in Eugene getting my travel trailer fixed and I was grateful to find Crossland Economy Studios there because I knew that I could stay there inexpensively with my pets until my trailer was done. The room was not fancy, but it was clean and had decent free internet. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Got our room switched the second we walked into our original room due to the smell & the stains on chairs / bed spread. Second room was better due to there being no carpet so there wasn't as much of a stench. The beds didn't have a comforter, only 2 extremely flat pillows, & the beds were REALLY squeaky & are like a metal jail cell frame that moved around at the slightest touch. They were out of soap. When I called the front desk; the lady laughed when I suggested they should go buy some, then hung up on me. No shampoo or conditioner in the shower. The door looked like someone had tried to break in before. Rotten watermelon in the parking lot that REAKED & got on my tires. HUGE pothole all across the front entrance which is unavoidable when pulling in; thought I'd gotten a flat / bottomed out my car. When I went to ask for a different room, there were multiple people doing the same thing or some just getting a totally different hotel all together. I am not a person who writes reviews. In fact this is my first one. But this is quite possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I booked it several weeks ahead of time and I chose it because it was literally the only hotel available in Eugene. Now I know why. It all started at check in. I waited in line behind two other gentlemen trying to check in for approximately 20 minutes. The clerk didn't even acknowledge our presence as she was on the phone talking to another employee about some issues with the rooms. This could have waited to provide customer service to the people standing in line. Once I got to the counter, I find out they don't have a room with 2 queens that I reserved and paid for already (through hotels.com). I would have to settle for 2 full beds. Okay, whatever. I'm pretty chill. She then tells me the room isn't ready but proceeds to get me all checked in and gives me the keys. Off to the Ducks game we go. When we return, there is rap music playing so loud from the back of the office and a whole bunch of employees standing around smoking. Signs posted everywhere state no smoking or vaping within 10 feet of the building. I guess that doesn't apply to employees. Anyway, we get into our room and it smelled so badly of smoke it made me instantly nauseated. My eyes were burning, my throat was burning. It was awful. I called the front desk to complain and she stated it was a no smoking room, and she doesn't have any other rooms. I'm tired, we are an hour from home and have had some drink so driving home wasn't an option. We go to bed, I wake up hoarse and search for coffee. No coffee pot in the room. Ugh Then the check out experience. No one at the desk. Guess where they are? Out back smoking behind the office. I wait for a few minutes the go back to ask them if anyone is working at the front desk. She states "oh sorry hun, I'll be there in a minute" and proceeds to put out her cigarette. I know this was a budget hotel, but holy cow. It was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The room was dirty and gross as well. Stay away! read more

Let's just start with saying we took the rude, nasty, scammer General Manger Angel to court and WON... She is beyond unprofessional and does not even know how to properly evict someone for non payment so if you have common sense you definitely have the upper hand here. Back in Dec of 2017 my family and I fell on hard times and needed a room to rent so we chose one that would allow us to stay longer than the typical hotel stay which is 29 days and then you must check out ( for legal reasons) everything was great in the beginning because we would get our taxes back at the end of a 30 day stay and that would be applied to your stay equaling a week... March that stopped and ILLEGAL late fee's of $20 a day started. Just so everyone knows ORS 90.260¹ is law put into place to protect us every day people just trying to live and "landlords" who try to scam like Angel, this law states that anyone protected under the landlord tenant law is not to receive a late fee exceeding 6% of the rent due in that pay period so basically $20 a day EVERY DAY that you are late is ILLEGAL, the late fee of $20 can be applied on the 5th day of the payment not being made... so you can imagine why someone can get behind on rent paying 1600 a month in just rent then close to 600 a month in late fee's. At first we just paid them to have somewhere to stay but once I started doing my own research I decided i'd fight this in court. Angel came VERY unprepared trying to make a point that "It's a Hotel" but what she doesn't realize is it's a hotel that allows people to stay 30+ days so that gives them all rights as a tenant on that 31st day. Check your Folio, they will print one for you, she may be charging you illegally too! The owners do not know anything that is going on because they allowed a scam artist to run their hotel. She has told other employees she has no intention on paying the judgment we won but she doesn't realize by law she(the company) has to, she doesn't realize she is ONLY a hotel manager. On to more... She hires junkies to dig threw the trash bins outside, she hired a team of construction workers that is ran by a woman outside loudly cussing and yelling about guest and her employees, workers who almost run over children driving a huge truck at about 30 mph in a parking lot. The most managing she has does is managing the parking lot as she takes about 20 smoke breaks a shift. Let me not start on the housekeepers, they are ALL rude and VERY unprofessional, they will kick a guest out for it smelling like smoke in their room but the whole hotel smells like smoke... plus most of these guest are guest that do not realize they have rights! i encourage everyone staying or planning on staying here to be VERY careful and if you have been there more than 30 days stand up for yourself. Advice to Angel: humble yourself. The owners need to get in there and get this place together before you end up with more judgments from guest that have experienced the same type of thing... I know for a fact there are more because i have spoken to some. This is hotel but seriously sit down with some lawyers they can tell what is and isn't OK. I stayed for 5 nights while in Eugene looking to see about retiring there. I was creeped out by the people (some of them) and it was dirty. The walls of my room were dirty and I would not have touched anything in the kitchen, wore my flip flops at all times. Smelled of smoke. Blanket questionable, staff unprofessional. Actually only saw one young girl the whole time, no other staff and never a cleaning person. One night max in a place like this, it was pretty bad. I was visiting my brother in OR for the first time and prefer to stay in a place that is all to myself so that we have someplace to go if we need a break and so that we are not crowding a house which isn't used to having 4 additional people in it. When we arrived at the property it all seemed fine and at check in the staff was friendly and prompt. I like my pillows when I sleep and always ask for extra but they said that they don't keep extra pillows on hand (Red flag #1). I went to my non-smoking room which smelled like an entire pack and saw that the entire room had 4 pillows and the thinnest blankets I have ever seen. The room was FREEZING so we turned the heater on right away. It quickly became apparent that their idea of a heater is a box with a heating element inside that does work but had no fan to push the hot air away from the window and no gauge for the heater to know when it has reached temperature to shut off. So its 30 degrees outside and we had the choice to keep the heater on and wake up well done OR turn the heater off before bed and wake up a popsicle. Finally getting settled down to sleep and there is banging and knocking and stomping and talking galore. We turned on a white noise app and finally fell asleep. Fast forward to the next morning when we leave at 9:00 to meet my brother for family pictures. We don't return until well after midnight and are settling down to go to bed when we hear the lady next door SCREAMING at her child Christian to "stop that" "lay down" "don't jump on the bed". Their hotel door opening and banging...knocking on the walls...it sounded like they slammed their bed into the wall over and over again and were just letting their kids knock over and over on the wall. The next morning I woke up (technically I was STILL awake) and started to get ready for the day. I walked to the dairy mart next door and on my way back decided to stop in to the front desk and ask how I could get more towels as they only gave us two (yes for two adults and two kids they only provide two towels). The lady at the front desk told me that we would have to give them our dirty towels so that they could wash them and then they would give them back. I also spoke to them about our very friendly neighbors and that lady looked at me and said...."OH! it might have been retaliation!" Now I know you don't know me but if you did you would know that a statement like that is going to get my attention quicker than any statement on earth. so I asked.. "WTF you mean retaliation? What was the complaint?" she says " They said that you were being excessively noisy at 12PM this afternoon" I says " Excuse me? I was not here this afternoon and in addition to that the afternoon is a wonderful time to be noisy 2 AM isn't. If we are working with the retaliation rules here then i can take care of this myself and don't really need your assistance" She says " Um that's not what i meant i'm just telling you what they told me" I says " OK well perhaps you should inform the lady that we weren't here and that if she has an issue she can come talk to me personally". I work in property management. I work with difficult tenants all the time. You do not share information from one tenant to another. You say that there is a complaint. Retaliation is a word that should be avoided at all costs! The staff may be nice but they are untrained to the point that another staff member told me exactly how long another resident was staying. I have no idea how much of my information was told to other residents but I'm telling you here and now if you like privacy, quiet when you sleep and your information kept private DONT STAY HERE. We never got our towels back after dropping them off and had to talk one of the room cleaners into giving us another one. We asked how to get our room clean and was told it depends on the amount of days you are there. Apparently 4 nights wasn't enough to warrant a room cleaning or fresh towels. What kind of hotel doesn't stock additional pillows and towels and only provides two pillows per bed and one towel per every two guests. The hotel i stayed at on the way home had 4 pillows per bed and four towels in the room. I will never stay here again and to be honest I will never stay at this chain again either so if this is corporate owned hotel they should take notice! read more

We had stayed at the facility 4 years ago and had been pleased. It is now occupied mostly by homeless/welfare recipients who take no pride in there place to live, It is just free. The fully equipped kitchen had no plates, silverware or pans. I had to ask for hangers. When I reported that the faucet in the kitchenette was leaking I was told by one of the men behind the desk, "There is nothing we can do about it, the parts are on order". He never looked up from his phone. The room didn't even have bedspreads. The carpet was so filthy that I could not bring my self to walk on it barefoot. I was raised on the beach and go everywhere barefoot. Avoid this hotel at all costs. read more

During my stay I ordered some things, (medical equipment, I'm a chiropractor, worth of 1200 dollars) at the internet to bring home to Sweden where I live. Unfortunately there was a problem with my delivery. It wouldn't arrive until the last day of my stay at the hotel, several hours after I left. I told this to the frontdesk manager, Alexander, and asked him to return my package directly to the sender and he agreed to do so. Since then my package is gone. The staff at the hotel couldn't care less about the problem despite they are responsible for the situation. The hotel itself, crappy as it is, is a dream compared to the staff. read more

This location is definitely what you would call bare bones. There is no breakfast or coffee. There wasn't even a coffee pot in the room. However I had a room in the back and it was fairly quite. The rooms itself was clean and didn't have any odors. I felt fairly safe but I wouldn't recommend it for a single female traveling alone. There were some shady characters on the property. If I could rate this "0" out of 5 I would. We were in the Springfield area for a family reunion and we searched a place that everyone to stay at, 13 to 15 rooms total. I am a yelper and researched this motel on YELP and Crossland Economy Studios was rated 2 out of 5 stars. So I brought it up to my family, they contacted the establishment, and they were guaranteed that the place was under renovation, the place is cleaned up, and our family members would get upgraded rooms. After driving 11 hours and checked in, we were not given upgraded rooms (in fact the rooms we were given had missing drawers, smelled awful, and it almost made my cousin puke). The next room that we checked into was a little better then the dump we went into first. The only upgrades we could see was painted walls and a small flat screen, no closets, just racks built into the walls but yet, NO HANGERS, worn out stained carpet, and smelt of cigarettes and mildew. The towel at the sink had a public hair on it and there was only 1/3 roll of toilet paper in the bathroom with no replacement. There were two of us checked in and there were only 2 small thin worn out towels and two small wash cloths. When we called down to the office for more towels, they told us we needed to bring the used ones down to get more (who does that). The shower had mildew in it and was very slippery. The next morning when we called for another roll of toilet paper, a very rude man named Alex said we had to come down and get it ourselves (my cousin was in the restroom and I was in my pj's and on crutches), really? The next day, in order to get though the next 3 nights (we checked in on a Thursday night and checked out on Monday morning) we were going to be there, we went to target, got our own toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, and freshener to make the room smell decent. It was very dirty on the outside cigarette buds everywhere (outside everyone's doors and elevator, even though there isn't suppose to be any smoking within 10 feet of the motel and the people worked there smoked outside the office and when walking on the different floors), over flowed trash cans on every floor near the elevator, and the elevator was never cleaned while we were there (accumulated garbage and dental floss picks on the floor, etc). This place is not meant for people traveling into town for vacation (especially with children), this place is meant for people who do not have a place to live and rent it by the week (which was very apparent by the people staying and hanging out there), hence the rooms are only cleaned once a week. I also will be contacting extended stay America to let them know what condition this place was in. read more

THIS HOTEL SHOULD BE CALLED "ECONOMY STY"!!! I only gave it one star because there weren't any lower choices. There is a long list of problems with our stay at this establishment. When we arrived having booked two double rooms, the clerk told us there were only two single rooms available because "corporate over booked." I wish we'd just found other accomodations at this point. Silly me. The deck on our floor had been sealed with some obnoxious compound that got tracked into the room so my husband and I woke up with major headaches. Apparently the hotel was undergoing some remodeling so someone blocked access to all the staircases except one! My brother-in-law took pictures of trash, cigarette butts and other filth that had accumulated in the hallway. My husband and I left after the first night and I WILL NEVER STAY IN ONE OF THESE HOTELS AGAIN!! read more

Found through AARP application on the phone while I was driving enroute to Vancouver. The rooms were clean, the other tenants not scary (as in some extended stay places!) all the basics were there--kitchenette, spotless bathroom, clean floor and bedding, TV, convenient to a major shopping center and not far from Hwy 5, but on the edge of a quiet residential area. I'd have to rate this tops of the extended stay type hotels in the very moderate price bracket, largely because of their response to a problem I had with the fire alarm 'battery out' chirp that started late at night. The front desk assured me that I would have been helped even after office hours if I had seen fit to report the late night fire alarm problem then, and after some to and fro, the home office comped me to a room in an affiliated property in Washington state. If you are looking for clean, moderate price, good location, responsive management, this is it. If you are looking for room sevice and valet parking, there are upscale chain hotels in the area for 3X the price. read more

I stayed at Crossland for about a month. I found it to be a good choice. My room was clean and bug free and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I don't have anything bad to say about this hotel. I really found it offered everything I needed. I have no complaints at all. Best of all I have to say again is the staff here. They are so nice! Stayed here last night on our way to the South Oregon coast. We decided on a motel instead of the van because we wanted a good nights sleep. Let's just say we should've picked the van. The room was clean, which was great. The bed was horrible. First of all it was a double (I made the reservation for two adults); I didn't know that motels even used double beds for a two person room. The women who booked me the room never specified the bed size, which I felt was deceptive. most places will tell you bed size. I guess i should've asked. Not only was the bed small, it was horribly uncomfortable. The AC also barely worked. They place was clean and cheap, but the bed situation was NOT good. I am in Eugene for the first time to get my freshman daughter situated at the University of Oregon. I tried five months ago to get a nice place but was stuck with this crap hole because it is the weekend before school starts and also a football game.It is absolutely disgusting. I went through an entire can of Lysol tonight so that I would not get the heebie-jeebies sleeping here. I am going to sleep in my clothes on top of the stained blanket. As an example, the blanket and carpeting are stained. Cigarette butts and dirty Kleenex are littered everywhere. I had to ask for a hair dryer and then had to Lysol the thing.DO NOT STAY HERE!! I have never complained about a hotel before, and I travel all over the country, but venting here is not enough. I am writing to the corporate owner, Extended Stay, and demanding a refund. Place was dirty! Looked like mold through out the entire complex. The girl in the office was very rude. When we pulled into the parking lot around 6 pm there was a group of Hispanic men (long term stayers) standing in the grass drinking and using the hotel sign as a bar. The girl in the office never did anything about it after I made a couple complaints. Then around 10 pm she joined them (in her work uniform). I walked out to my car while the all glared at me. The two different people I talked to in the front were nice. I foolishly thought that I'd be ok choosing the cheapest option as I was just crashing for a night. When I reluctantly paid $80 for a night (it was a Saturday so a considerable amount more expensive than normal I am sure). When I left the office and went towards the room I managed to pass two shady dudes hanging out on the second floor then see a kids bike taken apart. I can only make assumptions as to what was up with that bike. The room had different color paints, a pretty destroyed chair, and some of the wall molding stuff(?) was falling down. The bed was comfortable enough and even though the pillows were presented very awkwardly gave a good enough sleep. I understand it is the cheapest option but I definitely slept with one eye open all night as I was preparing for someone to be banging on the door or yelling outside. Once I did get to sleep there actually wasn't as much ruckus as I expected based off of the entrance I had. I wouldn't stay here again - instead I would pay the extra 15-20 dollars to get to a nicer spot. read more

Terrible experience. We would rate this a ZERO but Yelp doesn't let us give a zero rating. We had a guaranteed reservation but when we got to the hotel they had given away all of the rooms and they did not honor our reservation. The desk person tried to find a room at a different hotel but no rooms were available. The manager had a business card on the counter but he did not respond to three attempts to call him. Worthless. The Crosslands printed reservation in our possession had language such as "must" and "guarantee" -- but apparently that language applies only to the customer (the hotel would have charged us the full price as a "penalty" if we didn't show up) and Crossland itself does not honor the contract (the hotel did not keep its end of the bargain but did not pay us a one-night penalty for failing to honor their end of the agreement). This hotel provided ZER0 service and left us stranded. DO NOT MAKE A RESERVATION at this hotel. The posted lower price may be enticing, but when you arrive and the hotel has no room for you, good luck sleeping in your car. read more

This place is the most nasty, dirty, filthy, place I have ever lived. I had to come to Eugene for a 2.5 mo contract work. I had made reservations for the whole time I was here at Crossland Economy studios. The staff are rude, unfriendly, and lazy. They kept changing my rates to a higher amount even though I had reservations. When I refused to pay the higher amount they cancelled my reservations and would not let me back into my room until I payed the higher rate. I ended up paying an extra 85$. They are supposed to clean the rooms weekly however they refused to clean my room for 4 wks. I ended up having to clean it myself. Not only was the staff and management horrible people the rooms are rundown and dirty. My carpet was extremely dirty and had horrible red stains. I called their corporate office multiple times due to the billing issues however no one ever called me back. I WILL NEVER AGAIN STAY IN A CROSSLAND ECONOMY STUDIO!!! I would rather sleep in my car. Beware of this dump and do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. read more

I have an extended stay here at one of their Oregon locations. In the first 24 hours I had to move, it was 6 am and I was awakened by the housekeeping, their laundry room which is on the 2nd floor was directly across from my room, all I could hear were the wheels from the laundry carts constantly squeaking as they passed by and the doors slamming. So, I asked to be moved and was moved to front of building,( with no apologies from staff for inconvenience). For the last month I have been woken up several times during the middle of the night due to people partying,( especially on weekends}, couples fighting, people up late at nights due to drug usage, and just this last weekend two girls fighting in the middle of the parking at midnight with the car alarm blaring and light flashing directly in my room WITH THE TWO GIRLS screaming they couldn't find the key. This did not happen once but twice within a twenty minute span, same car, same girls. I think security is needed or at least a grave yard staff that actually monitors the cameras. The company should take responsibility to ensure the safety of its staff as well as its guests. On a positive note Cornell and another young gentlemen have always gone out of their way to be courteous have been extremely helpful. read more
