First of all, this chain of stores is my absolute fave. Where else can you get all your favorite brands under one roof? For like a quarter of the price?! This store was organized and clean which made it easy to browse. Yes, maybe the selection isn't as large as other locations, but I guess it just made it easier to see each article of clothing as the racks weren't super full. And I don't understand how so many people complain about the employees, they were super friendly and nice. :) read more

I haven't tried the other locations but this shop absolutely meets my needs. I always find something I like whenever I drop by. Great selection in great prices. More I go, better I seem to be at finding goodies, it's addicting! As far as customer service and friendliness, a couple of times I felt that they could have done better job especially to the customers who bring the clothing to sell. I understand that it could be very frustrating when either the seller doesn't agree with the price or doesn't understand what kind of items are accepted for trading at the shop. But, there might be some room for improvement when something like that happens. I know it's hard! Even after some not so good experiences, it might get better and better if you go more often and get more familiar with the shop and the staffs. came here with literally like 4 huge bags of clothes (my family and i were cleaning out YEARS of old clothes). to be honest, a lot of these clothes were not super current and fashionable, but they were still willing to go through all 4 bags! when i came in the people working were SUPER nice and just told me to bring them in and there was a short wait, but we were welcome to shop around while waiting. after about 10 minutes she went through all four bags and unfortunately only wanted to purchase 3 items from my selection (which was fine i was already planning to donate the rest anyways). i think this place is great just because they have great customer service from the people working there! also, their selection of clothes is pretty wide in range from forever21 to big brand names at good prices. my only tip is if you're selling make sure you bring the clothes during the right season and you're more likely to make a sale than if you bring a winter coat during summer. ya feel? read more

I've been take my clothes to other thrift stores and after a long time waiting, they pick one or two piece and it's cheap not even worth of your time ...BUT this place has a very reasonable pricing..they know exactly what to buy and what to resell so I will definitely go back there and trade my clothes with theirs. read more

Would love to give them 5stars but was sadly disappointed! I've been to the one in Costa Mesa and loved it so decided to try selling 6pairs of high end heels and shoes to the Irvine location. I got there around 4:40 they close at 6pm , the girls working told me to put my name in and they will call my name when they were ready so I did. While I was waiting I just shopped a bit there were about 4 employees on the floor the one was in the back trying on clothes and shopping for about 40min out of the time I was there ...as they finally called my name it was 5:45pm the first thing the employee told me was would you like to just do a drop off I said I would prefer to just do my trade now if possible ...I wasn't rude at all then the girl told me okay let me see what you have , she barely glanced at it and said they won't take it and will pass , mind you it was all pretty new maybe even used only once. I felt rushed out she didn't even want to help me all she cared about was closing ...it's not my fault they took forever to get to help me I waited a full hour before I was finally called. All in all very unprofessional! was very unpleasantly surprised with the employees professionalism , work ethic and customer service! As a new mom I don't get much time to go do things for myself so only had a little time to get this done along with other errands I had and unfortunately I had to waste an hr of that here and wasn't able to get my other errands done which made things worse Just to update my review I took the same items over to the Costa Mesa location and they bought a few pairs so that solidified me not wanting to go back to Irvine. I wasn't aware of 2nd hand clothing stores in Irvine, but this place has a solid amount of great clothes. It's mostly women's clothing with about 10% of the store being stuff for men which is probably why it isn't so highly rated for myself. Sometimes you'll find something that you just fall in love with and it's at a great price, but sometimes you'll get unlucky and find something you like but it either is the wrong size, something is wrong with it, or too pricey. For the most part it's a hit or miss, but a good wager since you're not forced to buy something. What's also good is their policy for buying clothes so you know what to expect, as opposed to potentially feeling like you're getting duped. Worth coming if you live in the area! read more

There are a lot of great finds at this store! There are plenty of fitting rooms. There's also a nice seated area to try on shoes in the back. Just be sure to inspect everything before you purchase! Shoes may be worn in places and clothing may have snags. I have yet to sell, but the process seems easy enough. read more

At this location you can find some pretty cool clothes with a pretty wide selection for guys ever girls. The clothes here are recycled which means they are pre-used so be careful and make sure you know that before coming in here buying anything that you expect to be new. They do offer shoes but you have to be careful as wearing someone else's use shoes can be kind of gross and not exactly sanitary. Other than that the staff is always helpful and they will let you try something on like a jacket should you want to. The prices are reasonable especially given that everything is used and sometimes they also have new items. read more

I have never been in a consignment clothing store before. Not really my kind of thing. But I had just been to the movies at Westpark and wanted to see if there were any little clothing shops in that shopping center. I didn't know it was a used clothes store, although I had an inkling with "trading' in the name, but I went in anyhow. What a great find! As far as the items being "gently used"--I think every article in this place must have been purchased by someone who died before they got a chance to wear the stuff. Everything looked brand freakin' new! I was looking for new clothes to wear to concerts this summer: basic rock concert attire: black, trampy, lacy. I had so many options! Tried on a bunch of stuff and settled on 2 great tops--for a grand total of $12!! That totally works for me. The store isn't fancy, but it's neat and organized. They had quite a few high-end designer items, and lots of multiples and various sizes of the same thing--so I figure they have to buy from stores, too. All of the clothing is modern and current to the season. I will definitely be back--and I'm going to check out their location in Costa Mesa, too. read more

This was my first experience trying to sell my clothes to a place like this. First experience over phone was friendly and I was excited to drive 20 miles to get to their store. Upon arrival staff was friendly and explained process great. I was told to go "shop" while they looked through my stuff. I really was not in the mood to shop as I'm not trying to spend money right now. I did go ahead and look through their stuff and quickly realized it was stuff that catered to AGE GROUP: teens to about 30 year olds - max! All clothes were small, medium and some larges. Hardly any XL and if they did have XL it was sparingly and not certainly fit me or be for my age group. I am 50 however a young spirited 50 year old. I knew right then then there was no way they would but my clothes or shoes. I had a mixture of Coach, INC, Macy's brands. My advise to this store is to advertise in such a way that your for the "younger crowd". I could have saved my gas and time! read more

I frequent this Crossroads location as well as their sister store in Costa Mesa. I do find that their sister store purchases more of my clothing than this location....I'm sure it has to do with the size of this store being a fraction of the size and maybe the traffic not being as much as Costa Mesa, but I agree with other reviewers in that they do pass up on a lot of "seasonal" stuff. I've seen them pass up all of my belongings only to go over to Costa Mesa and have Costa Mesa purchase almost half of my things. A plus for this store, it is CLEAN and well organized. I can never be overwhelmed in this location because it is not as cluttered and messy as the Costa Mesa store. And the staff here is always well staffed and friendly. read more

The staff is super friendly and helpful here and the selection of clothes, shoes and accessories are awesome :) they give u cash or store credit for items that you want to get rid of, but make sure to bring clothes that are for the upcoming season (more chance of them wanting to buy it from u). I've been coming to this location since 2012 and the customer service here has been degrading ever since. The workers are RUDE and they look like they are having the worst day of their lives. The workers here used to be nice, friendly, and super enthusiastic about their job. There was an incident where the buying girl snobbishly told me that they are looking for "higher end and name brands" and mine "were not up to standard". Mind you, I was bringing in clothes that are not considered cheap. Sorry if I wasn't bringing in Marc Jacob, Versace, and Ralph Lauren because I would make a lot more if I sell those online myself. Today the girl who was buying my stuff was also very rude and unfriendly. Why do people not like this store? I love this location! It's clean, organized, and I always seem to find at least one great hidden treasure when I come here. It is a smaller location, but because of this I feel they're more selective with what merchandise they choose to purchase. This creates a great environment to purchase in, but sets a high bar to sell to. I would sell elsewhere, and use the credit here! As with many crossroads, great prices on the merchandise and there's always plenty on sale at 50% off. The girls working here are always hit or miss, typical retail service. Some are friendly and helpful, some have attitude, but they keep the store clean and the check-out lines moving so no complaints. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE customer service i tried on a few items...the 2 men that assisted me are gay...now now im not discrimitating so do not even go there ...but these guys SUPER RUDE....like they are doing u a fovor.. give me a break it is ridiculous and aside from that the prices are not that great. I was expecting better from this business. I was moving & had 1 big bucket & 3 trash bags of clothes that I was trying to sell/get rid of. Hubby & I checked in, & handed everything over. There were 2 people checking the clothes that were being sold to them. We had a young Persian gentleman look over our clothes (this was 2 weekends ago & unfortunately did not get his name). It took a while for everything to be looked over so I went shopping through their clothes as I waited. I wanted to get the 50% in store credit as opposed to 30% in cash. Their clothes are a bit pricy for what they offer & a lot of it is outdated (which is weird as they say when they're buying your clothes that they want season clothing). They priced 10 pieces of clothes to $160 & gave us $58 in store credit. I got 3 items that added up to the $58 (kinda pricy for 3 items & it was a simple t-shirt, jeans & pj shorts (which were 50% off). As I was trying my items on, hubby was handed over 2 trash bags & the bucket that they did not want to purchase so he took it to my car while he waited. As I was done, we remembered that we handed 3 bags over at the beginning, not 2. Hubby advised the gentleman that helped us that we were missing 1 bag, he acted surprised when hubby basically confronted him about it. He immediately picked up the bag & handed it over, acting like he was caught. He did not apologize or give any reason as to why he kept 1 bag. Maybe he thought we wouldn't notice since we had so much stuff coming in. Also, they offer to "donate" the clothes they don't want but don't provide a receipt, odd to me as they can easily keep the clothes & get more money off me. This is why this store gets 2 stars, I don't expect a response or an explanation. I know the personnel won't care but I do not believe I will be shopping here again. Sad, sad, sad. read more

Although I love the Crossroads in Coata Mesa, this store is just the right size so you don't get too overwhelmed! The staff is amazing.. especially Chanel! I have been here several times to trade in clothes but I don't think I'll be coming back to do so after my recent experience. Although I am aware that this "thrift store" tends to lean towards more high-end and trendy items, I did not appreciate the inconsistency and complacently when it came to picking out items to trade in. I came with a large bag with at least 20 items ranging from H&M to Armani Exchange and even a pair of leather Jack Purcell used once and they did not take a single thing claiming it wasn't in style and they only take sneakers "practically brand new". The young lady at the counter that told me this was nice but I did not appreciate being told the mediocre reasoning of not accepting the shoes because I saw the same type of sneakers and in worse condition than mine being sold for almost $20...On top of that, I am well aware she did not even look at all my items as it was clear that more than half the bag was untouched. But another time I went there, I came with half the stuff and with less branded items and got a substantial amount of money. I get there is a certain clientele they are appealing to but their idea of trading in clothes is quite skewed and is obviously dependent on the attitude and work ethic of whoever is working. read more

I went here for the first time by recommendation from my friend and I did not regret it! This place is by far my favorite thrift store and I look forward to visiting the other locations. I was impressed by the selection of clothing and prices for the higher end brands were reasonable. My only complaint is that I do feel brands like forever 21 were inflated so I stayed away from purchasing those. They took most of the stuff I brought to trade and I used the credit for my purchases. This is a clothes exchange place my friend took me to. There are a lot of nice clothes here but they are on the pricey side for my taste. I did justify getting a few things though. A casual dress that was $27 and a $15 black pants. It looked so comfortable. I wasn't supposed to buy anymore black clothing since I already have a wardrobe full of black items. Savannah told me that all of those people came in to 'drop off' (uh-huh). Savannah bought very few items, most likely because I complained about the wait. This is the type of place that makes me wish Yelp allowed ZERO STAR-ratings. I went in to Crossroads to look at some of the stuff they're currently selling before I took in some clothes that I wanted to get rid of. While browsing the racks, I found ripped shirts, beyond-old jeans, and after only 10 minutes of browsing my hands felt as if I'd been playing in a sandbox. Anyway, I brought in my clothes a couple of weeks ago and was helped by a blonde girl (didn't catch her name). She was rude and just plain lazy. I had a large bag full of shirts (about 30) and she just took a 2-second peek at the bag and said, oh no we won't take anything. She didn't even bother to look through my clothes. To make things worse, she ripped my bag open and then tells me she did that on purpose cause she didn't want to bother with the knot, so I had to dump all the clothes back into the trunk of my car. I wouldn't have minded if she hadn't taken any of my clothes because they're too old/out of style/whatever. What bothered me is that I wasted my time sorting my clothes and driving over there to have some random girl not even look through my bag. I thought about speaking with the manager but after reading the reviews I'm glad I didn't cause apparently s/he is trash, too. This place is totally not worth it; I would suggest going to Marshall's instead. Went to Crossroads for the first time to sell, I must say the store is set up very nicely and is well organized and catches the eye. The girl helping me was very nice and friendly. The price I got for my items was the only disappointing thing for 4 name brand like new items that I orginnaly paid $250 for I only got $16 bucks for everything. That was disappointing, I also wasn't give a price offer for my items they just put a tag on the item and went on with it. I don't think I will sell again but they have good items so I might be back to shop. read more

First time I came here to sell some clothes and they took a pair of heels. I brought in everything I have that they were looking for in their "what we are looking for spring season". I had oversized sweaters like they wanted and they were new! They wanted combat boots so I brought in my Steve Madden combat boots and still did not take them. I'm at Crossroads Trading Co. (thrift shop near albertson's) and the buying lady was a bitch. She literally took a minute to look through all of the clothes I lugged over here and I made sure the clothes look exactly like sample clothes but in different colors. The merchandise here have holes and tears and some smell weird. The lady selling before me had winter clothes and the bitch bought them. The site specifically said SUMMER clothes. I feel like she was just too lazy to go through them, EVEN THOUGH THERE AREN'T ANY LIMITS TO CLOTHES. She was rude, too. I had to call my dad over for ID and she wrote down his info. I even washed, dried and folded them in a bag, unlike everyone else who were selling (they were messy). I go through all this shit and she gives me laziness and attitude. She threw them back in the bag without folding them. I wouldn't mind if nome of my clothes ACTUALLY are invalid, but she took a minute to look through them and by look, I mean grab and toss them while looking the other way to talk to SOMEONE ELSE. Some of the clothes I brought in were exactly the same as the clothing samples, some different colors. Everyone, think twice before selling at this horrible shop. Came here as a recommendation from a friend after I cleaned my closet and was getting ready to take everything to goodwill...what a waste of time. Took clothes to sell (designer jeans, shorts, and shoes all from nordstroms and couple of items from Ann Taylor and Michael Kors). They didn't buy any of it because they said they didn't think their clientele would purchase it. Weirdly, while browsing in there waiting for my turn I saw a ton of clothes from Forever 21, H&M which I thought this store was more of a designer store. Plus most of their items are too used. The one item she offered to buy was a pair of lucky shorts that I purchased new from TJ Max for only $15 but all of the actual items from nordstroms that all cost well over $100 a piece, they passed on. I am a huge fan of the newport location, so was quite disappointed when I came across the irvine location. The store is smaller and there isn't a great selection. A lot of the pieces seem to be from forever21 or target priced at around $8. If you're interested in selling clothing, the line here is a lot shorter than the one at newport! read more
